    Dear reader, I'm working on a twitter client which uses the twitter streaming json api. Twitter advices JSON as XML version is deprecated. I'm looking for a good JSON parser which can parse the json data below.   • No long-running conversations - IllegalArgumentException: Stack must not be null

    Hi all, I have a very simple application with just 2 pages on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g), Seam 2.2.0.GA. I have a command button in each, which makes a redirect-after-post to the other. This works well, as I see the URL of the current page I am seeing in the address bar. BUT, even though I have no long-running conversations defined, after a random number of clicks, and - I think - after a random number of seconds (~10s - 60s) I get the lovely exception at the end of this post. Now, if I have understood how temporary conversations work when redirecting this happens: When I first see my application, the url is http://localhost:7001/myapp When I click the button in pageA.xhtml, I end up in "pageB.xhtml?cid=26". This is normal because Seam extends the temporary conversation of the first request to last until the renderResponse phase of the redirect. So, it uses the cid (Conversation Id) of the extended temporary conversation to find any propagated parameters. When I click the button in pageB.xhtml, I end up in pageA.xhtml?cid=26 The same cid was given to the new extended temporary conversation. This is normal because the conversation ended at the end of the previous redirect-after-post, and not the number 26 is free to use as a cid. Is this all correct? If yes, why does this happen: If I re-type the applications home address (showing pageA) and re-click, I end up in pageB.xhtml?cid=29, which is a different number than 26. But 26 has ended after the previous RenderResponse phase, befire I re-types the url. Why is it not used instead of 29? So, to sup up, 2 questions: Why do I get the exception, even though I have not started any long-running conversations? What happens exactly with the cid? On what basis does it change? Cheers,

  • [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation] always null

    As per the title. Calling [[UIDevice currentDevice] BeginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications] has no effect. DidRotateToInterfaceOrientation etc events are working fine, but I need to be able to poll the device orientation arbitrarily. How can I fix/do this? The long story: I have a tab application with a navigation controller on each tab. The root view of tab number one is a graph that goes full screen when the orientation changes to landscape; however this needs to be checked whenever the view appears as the orientation change could have occurred elsewhere, so I was hoping to poll the orientation state whenever this view appears.

    Hi guys, I'm reasonably new to JEE, so this might be stupid.. bear with me pls :D I would like to inject a stateless session bean into a message-driven bean. Basically, the MDB gets a JMS message, then uses a session bean to perform the work. The session bean holds the business logic. Here's my Session Bean: @Stateless public class TestBean implements TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething() { // business logic goes here } } The matching interface: @Remote public interface TestBeanRemote { public void doSomething(); } Here's my MDB: @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jms/mvs.TestController", activationConfig = { @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-acknowledge"), @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue") }) public class TestController implements MessageListener { @EJB private TestBean testBean; public TestController() { } public void onMessage(Message message) { testBean.doSomething(); } } So far, not rocket science, right?   • Problems with zend-tool reporting that providers are not valid

    I have recently setup XAMPP 1.7.3 and ZendFramework 1.10.4 on a new computer and many of the commands that I normally use now fail. Here are the steps I used to setup and test ZF. First I added the ZF library folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\library) to the include path in php.ini. Then I added the ZF bin folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\bin) to my Path system variable. To test that everything is configured correctly I ran the command "zf show version" from the command line. The result is "Zend Framework Version: 1.9.6". Immediately something appears to be wrong. The file that is downloaded is "ZendFramework-1.10.4.zip" and the reported version is 1.9.6. I have re-downloaded the latest version (1.10.4) and removed old copy. Still the incorrect version number problem persisted. Having done some research there is a bug in the ZF knowledgebase that version 1.10.3 reports a wrong version number. So that may explain the version number problem. Moving forward I tried to run some zf-tool commands and certain commands reports that the action or provider is not valid. Example: C:\xampp\htdocs>zf create project test Creating project at C:/xampp/htdocs/test C:\xampp\htdocs>cd test C:\xampp\htdocs\test>zf create controller Test Creating a controller at C:\xampp\htdocs\test/application/controllers/TestController.php ...   • Problem with testing In App with sandbox test account

    Hi, I created a test user account through the Manage User Accounts in iTunes Connect. When you create such an account you have to select a valid storefront for your account. I chose US Store. Now I signed out from the store in App Store settings on my device. Ran the application and tried to perform a purchase. I successfully login with my test account. After I press Confirm when entering my credentials I get an alert, that comes from SKPaymentTransactionStateFailed from the observer. It says "Your account is only valid for purchases in the US iTunes Store". The error state = 0 unknown. Second time when i try to perform the purchase, StoreKit only asks me for a password like the previous login was successful. After entering a password I can perform a purchase. My question is whether it's only because it's a testing account and the application is not actually on AppStore? What should I do to avoid this message or at least to continue the purchasing process?   • C# Winforms ADO.NET - DataGridView INSERT starting with null data

    I have a C# Winforms app that is connecting to a SQL Server 2005 database. The form I am currently working on allows a user to enter a large amount of different types of data into various textboxes, comboboxes, and a DataGridView to insert into the database. It all represents one particular type of machine, and the data is spread out over about nine tables. The problem I have is that my DataGridView represents a type of data that may or may not be added to the database. Thus, when the DataGridView is created, it is empty and not databound, and so data cannot be entered. My question is, should I create the table with hard-coded field names representing the way that the data looks in the database, or is there a way to simply have the column names populate with no data so that the user can enter it if they like? I don't like the idea of hard-coding them in case there is a change in the database schema, but I'm not sure how else to deal with this problem.

    I want to integrate AdMob ads in my iPhone app. I'm using IB way to add the view and follow AdMob's pdf guide: 1. Add AdMob group(AdMobView.h,AdMobDelegateProtocol.h,libAdMob.a) 2. Add required frameworks(AudioToolbox,MediaPlayer,MessageUI,QuartzCore) 3. Add TouchJSON group 4. Add IBSupport group(AdViewController.h,AdViewController.m) 5. Add a 320*48 UIView in IB, add NSObject and change its class to AdViewController, link AdViewController's view to the 320*48 UIView and link AdViewController's viewController to current view controller. Now the iPhone simulator can show ads from AdMob, but when I test it on real device, I get the error "AdMob: Did fail to receive ad". I've tried to add test device's UDID to testDevices array, but still get the same error. - (NSArray *)testDevices { return [NSArray arrayWithObjects: ADMOB_SIMULATOR_ID, DEVICE_UDID, nil]; } Is there any problem in the above steps? Does anybody know why can't I get the ads in real device? By the way, what should be changed to build for real for-sale app, not just for test?

    Hi, As the title points I have problem with ctags when trying to parse user-defined language. Basically I've followed those instructions. The quickest and easiest way to do this is by defining a new language using the program options. In order to have Swine support available every time I start ctags, I will place the following lines into the file $HOME/.ctags, which is read in every time ctags starts: --langdef=swine --langmap=swine:.swn --regex-swine=/^def[ \t]*([a-zA-Z0-9_]+)/\1/d,definition/ The first line defines the new language, the second maps a file extension to it, and the third defines a regular expression to identify a language definition and generate a tag file entry for it. I've tried different flags: b,e for regex.   • SAXException: Unexpected end of file after null

    I'm getting the error in the title occasionally from a process the parses lots of XML files. The files themselves seem OK, and running the process again on the same files that generated the error works just fine. The exception occurs on a call to XMLReader.parse(InputStream is) Could this be a bug in the parser (I use piccolo)? Or is it something about how I open the file stream? No multithreading is involved. Piccolo seemed like a good idea at the time, but I don't really have a good excuse for using it. I will to try to switch to the default SAX parser and see if that helps. Update: It didn't help, and I found that Piccolo is considerably faster for some of the workloads, so I went back.

    I recently took an online test on codility as part of a recruitment process. I was given two simple problems to solve in 1 hour. For those who don't know codility, its an online coding test site where you can solve ACM style problems in many different languages. if you have 30 or so mins then check this http://codility.com/demo/run/ My weapon of choice is usually Java. So on of the problems I have is as follows (I will try to remember, should have taken a screenshot) Lets say you have array A[0]=1 A[1]=-1 ....A[n]=x Then what would be the smartest way to find out the number of times when A[i]+A[j] is even where i < j So if we have {1,2,3,4,5} we have 1+3 1+5 2+4 3+5 = 4 pairs which are even The code I wrote was some thing along the lines int sum=0; for(int i=0;i<A.length-1;i++){ for (int j=i+1;j<A.length;j++){ if( ((A[i]+A[j])%2) == 0 && i<j) { sum++; } } } There was one more restriction that if the number of pairs is greater than 1e9 then it should retrun -1, but lets forget it. Can you suggest a better solution for this. The number of elements won't exceed 1e9 in normal cases. I think I got 27 points deducted for the above code (ie it's not perfect). Codility gives out a detailed assessment of what went wrong, I don't have that right now.

  • Writing to a file in Python inserts null bytes

    I'm writing a todo list program. It keeps a file with a thing to do per line, and lets the user add or delete items. The problem is that for some reason, I end up with a lot of zero bytes at the start of the file, even though the item is correctly deleted. I'll show you a couple of screenshots to make sure I'm making myself clear. Now I could duplicate the data each quarter, keeping the price the same, but I'd rather use a view. How can I create a view that can be used to return prices for (for example) quarter 2? I've written this to return the current (=latest) price: CREATE VIEW vwCurrentPrices AS SELECT * FROM ( SELECT *, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY productid ORDER BY year DESC, quarter DESC) AS Ranking FROM product ) p WHERE p.Ranking = 1 I'd like to create a view so I can use queries like select * from vwProduct where quarter = 2

  • Calling SetWindowsHookEx inside VS2008 debugger always returns NULL

    we're working on a .Net application that does a low level keyboard hook. When we call the SetWindowsHookEx running inside the debugger the call always fail. When running from the compiled executable everything works fine. If we attach to the processs the the SetWindowsHookEx has been called everything works too. I've read somewhere (I can not remember) that VS already does a low level keyboard hook but this shouldn't be a problem as there is the CallNextHook function. Someone knows what's happening? EDIT: The code is pretty straigfoward, the exception is thrown inside debugger but not outside. Any idea how to do this with QUnit? Edit: I read the QUnit examples, but they seem to be dealing with a simple scenario with no AJAX interaction. And although there are ASP.NET MVC examples, but I think they are really testing the output of the server to an AJAX call, i.e., it's still testing the server response, not the AJAX response. What I want is how to test the client side response.

    I need to get Perl to remove relative path components from a Linux path. I've found a couple of functions that almost do what I want, but: File::Spec->rel2abs does too little. It does not resolve ".." into a directory properly. Cwd::realpath does too much. It resolves all symbolic links in the path, which I do not want.
