    If i submit my ajax form from jQuery, and do print_r($_FILES); i get a list of files uploaded, but if i do something like this $add_form->sound_file->isUploaded(); or $params = $this->_getAllParams(); print_r($params); i don't get my file in zend parametars, and i don't get it uploaded!? Mayb the problem is with he context beng ajax?!

    I have the following simple code: ofstream output("test"); output << 'a'; When I do an octal dump of the file, I get this: 0000000 000141 0000001 I can see that 000141 (in base 8) is 8 bits wide and 0000001 is probably EOF. What is the first byte of all 0's and why is it there? I know it is null is ascii but what is its purpose?

  • Package management system corrupted. Cannot install or remove packages. U12.04LTS

    Having read other posts, I believe that this may be less about samba than about update system. Below is the log file of the failed installation of Samba. I have been trying without success to install/outstall samba so that I could install anything else ... I cannot either install or remove samba using either update-manager or apt-get (nor indeed Software Centre). One of the errors that I have had to correct is the presence after "removal" (failed) of /usr/share/system-config-samba directory which finally allowed itself to be deleted. That, however was then ... I have U12.04LTS. running on release 63 because I allowed the upgrade to 64 this morning which fell over - no output to monitor - obviously even less support for my graphic chip than I am suffering already (see other posts in this forum). According to my interpretation of the dpkg returned errors there may be some problem with the package files, but if this is the case then it is on servers 'main', 'nantes uni fr' and 'best fr' at the very least if not everywhere. The suggestions offered at Package operation failed and elsewhere have not worked for me. This linked post suggests that a similar error is present in other packages, or that the error is in the 'update system' I have tried ... sudo apt-get remove samba ... autoremove ... install samba ... clean ... update -f all of the above In update-manager I have tried the "reload packages list" which fails to terminate because of the error. I have tried to install and remove samba from the software centre ... :( I am at a loss ... I need help, please! Firstly to recover my apt-get/update-manager/Software Centre so that I can at least carry on with my continuing installation - up to communicating with home network hence need for samba - which brings me to my second requirement ... samba. PS is the issue about "MaxReports" associated or apart? UPDATE! Being heartily sick of restarting FF every 5 seconds I thought I'd try again with Chromium ... and got the same errors from dpkg about corrupt compressed package - coincidence? Of course this was no longer in clipboard when I got here because apport has just errored ... AAARRRGGGH!!! Why does every error clear the clipboard?     This is an ATM style program, but currently it doesn't do exactly what I need it to do... I need to get the current balance, and when money is transferred from either checking or savings, it should add it to checking and subtract it from savings. which is does, but not correctly...     During our production builds, a very large (10 megabyte) static content file in the root directory will sometimes be locked by IIS and cannot be deleted by the clean task. This is presumably because it is being actively served to one or more clients at the time. The build process stops the website before cleaning via c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe stop site http://oursite.com However, this does not release the file - we have to restart IIS to get the process to relinquish its lock. appcmd.exe allows you to take IIS down completely; we do not want to do this! Are there any other ways to get IIS to let go of a locked file, without restarting IIS? Simply stopping and starting the individual website is definitely not working to release the file lock.

  • File History - Unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration

    When trying to run the File History tool in Windows 8 it runs for about 2 seconds then stops. No files are backed up to the selected drive. In the event viewer the only error that appears is: Unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration C:\Users\win8User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config I've tried deleting both the configuration files and the FileHistory directory on the target drive. Setting up File History again results in the same error. Is there a better way to track down what is causing the failure? Or somehow get the File History tool to create a more verbose log file that shows what is causing the problem?

  • Xfce power manager warns HAL daemon is not running, no keyboard on startup on Ubuntu

    I changed my grub boot options to add "vga=0x323" to them to resolve some issues with corrupted display during startup/shutdown on my laptop. The next time I booted the system up, I got a warning over the login screen saying Xfce Power Manager HAL Daemon not running The keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. After a minute or so, they start to work and the system functions as normal. How can I solve this?

    I'm trying to find an optimum solution for accessing the NFS file share in my company. We have a central file server in North America and has 30GB~50GB of updated data everyday. And it's very slow for our Europe and Asia branches to access directly. Therefore, I'm trying to setup two replicate servers in those continents. I'm currently using rsync, but wonder if there exists a better solution acts more like a distributed RAID, which allows the user to transparently access the file whether synced or not. And user request will be dispatched to remote server if the file is not yet synced. I'm now looking into DRBD, but it seems not to have the functionality of auto-dispatching requests. Does anyone know if there's a better solution?

    I'm trying to find some tool that helps me monitor several things. What are some requirements: Shows results on a web page. Checks existence of files/folders Checks sizes of files/folders Can parse xml files Can have several status depending if it's for instance, after 9pm Ping workstations/Servers to ensure they are on or off create daily/weekly/monthly reports (pdf, html, csv) show daily/weekly/monthly scheduled tasks check if specific users are logged in a machine check which users are logged in in a machine I've looked into some solutions but could not find what I wanted. Usually tools like nagios are more focused in servers, and spiceworks is not so specific. At this point I'm using a little powershell script that does several of these items, but before losing more time probably reinventing the wheel, what tools are out there? Thank you in advance.

  • How much memory will a Windows file-server be able to use effectively.

    In the near future we will be moving our fileserver to a newer box that will be running Windows 2008R2. I want to know how much memory Windows will be able to use for a system that is just a file-server. In searching around I found an old document for Windows 2000 that mentions the maximum size of the file-system cache is 960MB. I suspect this limit no longer applies, but is there a new limit? The file server will be just a standard Windows fileserver. It will have 1TB of attached storage. The large majority of the of the files accessed during the day are just typical Office documents. There are 80-100 people usually using the fileserver during a typical day. This system will only be used as a file server, it doesn't have any other roles. In Windows 2008r2 is there any hard limits for the filesystem cache? What are they? The server we will be re-using for this purpose currently has 4GB of memory, but it can be maxed out at 16GB. Is there any value in doing this for a Windows file-server? Are there any performance counters can I look at on the existing 2003 fileserver that will tell me if adding more memory will be worthwhile.

  • Winamp question: Generating 'dynamic playlists' from file playlists -OR- mass-tagging by file playli

    I'm trying to think of a way to do this. I sort my songs into a variety of playlists corresponding to different 'moods' I might have as I listen to them, and some songs fit for more than one kind of mood (e.g. a jazz song might be 'stylish' and 'emotional', or something to that effect). I also give them star ratings for a general sort of opinion about them. I want to be able to filter and sort my media library by the moods I want or don't want, as well as by star rating. Anyone have a good way to do something like this? I can't seem to use Winamp's dynamic playlists to generate lists from existing filesystem playlists (e.g. songs in a given .m3u files). Hand-tagging files with Winamp's tag editor is a royal pain. It's trouble enough just giving a star rating and sorting into playlists as is. If there is there a way to mass tag songs within each playlist with mood words to allow me to create dynamic playlists, I'd be fine (for now). It'd be nice if I could do this via some kind of hotkey for each song, too. I'm looking to see if I can use a macro program or something to do that, though. Thanks in advance. P.S: Alternatively, would something like Foobar have functions like this? Note: Italics are recent edits.

    I have a Lenovo T500 laptop with an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN I have Win 7 Enterprise installed as the OS Inside that Win 7 install, I have installed VmWare Workstation (8.0.0 build-471780) Inside the VmWare, I have installed BackTrack 5 (BT5r1-GNOME-64) Under the VmWare settings, I have Bridged Mode Enabled for the Network Adapter In BT5r1-GNOME-64, under the Wicd Network Manager, it says "No wireless networks found" What do I fix so that it can find the wireless networks? Is the issue with BackTrack, VmWare, etc.?

It is not listed in the Devide Manager. Earlier when I used Fedora 12, I was able to use this interface for capturing videos from my DV Camera. The manufacturer is Tech-Com, which has not provided a driver CD for this. What can I possibly try?
