  • System.Reflection and InvokeMember, storing type, assembly, and object in a class

    - by Cyclone
I have tested code to call a method inside of a compiled DLL, and it works. I created a class to store the object, type, and loaded assembly, but something is lost in translation because it is unable to find the member I wish to invoke. If I create a type, object, and assembly, and properly load everything into these and perform InvokeMember on the type, it works just fine. However, when I use the things inside of my class, it throws a MissingMemberException and does not invoke the member, obviously. What am I doing wrong? The member in question is a subroutine which takes one argument, a string. This is quite frustrating. Code being called: Dim MyLoadedAssembly As New LoadedAssembly() MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly = Assembly.LoadFrom("display.dll") MyLoadedAssembly.MyObject = MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly.CreateInstance("Display.UI.Window") MyLoadedAssembly.MyType = MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly.GetType("Display.UI.Window") Dim args() As Object = {"test"} MyLoadedAssembly.InvokeMember("Show", args) Private Class LoadedAssembly Public MyType As Type Public MyObject As Object Public MyAssembly As Assembly Public Function InvokeMember(ByVal name As String, ByVal args() As Object) Return MyType.InvokeMember(name, BindingFlags.Default Or BindingFlags.InvokeMethod Or BindingFlags.GetProperty Or BindingFlags.Instance, Nothing, MyObject, args) End Function End Class Code inside of display.dll: Namespace UI Public Class Window Private wind As New System.Windows.Forms.Form Public FullScreen As Boolean = False Public Overloads Sub Show(ByVal text As String) wind.Show() wind.Text = text End Sub Public Overloads Sub Show() wind.Show() End Sub End Class End Namespace The root namespace for display.dll is Display. Why is my code only working when not within this class? System.MissingMethodException was unhandled Message="Method 'Display.UI.Window.Show' not found." • Cast to Extended Class in C# (dotnet 3.5<)

    - by csharpnoob
Hi, i'm not sure if it's possible. I have a class car and a class mycar extended from class car. Class mycar has also a string list. Only difference. How can i cast now any car object to a mycar object without assigning all attributes each by hand. Like: Car car = new Car(); MyCar mcar = (MyCar) car; or MyCar mcar = new MyCar(car); or however i can extend car with own variables and don't have to do always Car car = new Car(); MyCar mcar = new MyCar(); mcar.name = car.name; mcar.xyz = car.xyz; ... Thanks.

  • Private members when extending a class using ExtJS

    - by Protron
I have done some research on the ExtJS forum regarding private methods and fields inside a extended class, and I couldn't find any real answer to this. And when I say an extended class I mean something like this: Ext.ux.MyExtendedClass = Ext.extend(Ext.util.Observable, { publicVar1: 'Variable visible from outside this class', constructor: function(config) { this.addEvents("fired"); this.listeners = config.listeners; }, // to show that I need to use the base class publicMethod1: function() { return 'Method which can be called form everywhere'; }, publicMethod2: function() { return this.publicMethod1() + ' and ' + this.publicVar1; } // to show how to access the members from inside another member }); The problem here is that everything is public. So, how do I add a new variable o method within the scope of MyExtendedClass that cannot be accessed from outside but can be access by the public methods?

  • Change parent class of dom object via css selectors

    - by Le_Coeur
Can i change parent class of some dom object on hover event via CSS selectors? For example I have such block: <span class="wBlock" > <span class="wText">Text</span> <span class="wLink"/> <\/span> and if i move mouse to span "wLink" span "wBlock" must be changed, and if i move out than it must be the same as at the begining .wLink{ padding-right:15px; background:url(/img/addlink.png) center right no-repeat; cursor:pointer; } .wText{ background-color: #1BE968; } It's something like this and if i move my cursor to plus text highlight must be changed to yellow

  • Derived class linker - is this wrong?

    - by bobobobo
We have this situation: A B ^ ^ | / C so class A { } class B { } class C : public A, public B { } Now, B wants to access a property in C. How do you do this? The solution I came up with is to place a pointer in B to an instance of C, which is only active (not null) if this B is in fact a C.

  • C++ templates - matrix class

    - by lastOfMohicans
Hi I'm learning templates in C++ so I decied to write matrix class which would be a template class. In Matrix.h file I wrote #pragma once #include "stdafx.h" #include <vector> using namespace std; template<class T> class Matrix { public: Matrix(); ~Matrix(); GetDataVector(); SetDataVector(vector<vector<T>> dataVector); bool operator == (Matrix* matrix); bool operator < (Matrix* matrix); bool operator <= (Matrix* matrix); bool operator > (Matrix* matrix); bool operator >= (Matrix* matrix); Matrix* operator + (Matrix* matrix); Matrix* operator - (Matrix* matrix); Matrix* operator * (Matrix* matrix); private: vector<vector<T>> datavector; int columns, rows; }; In Matrix cpp Visual Stuio automaticlly generated code for default constructors #include "StdAfx.h" #include "Matrix.h" Matrix::Matrix() { } Matrix::~Matrix() { } However if I want to compile this I get an error 'Matrix' : use of class template requires template argument list The error are in file Matrix.cpp in default constructors What may be the problem ??

  • Avoiding unsafe cast for generic situation involving runtime passing of class

  • Delphi: Using Enumerators to filter TList<T: class> by class type?

    - by afrazier
Okay, this might be confusing. What I'm trying to do is use an enumerator to only return certain items in a generic list based on class type. Given the following hierarchy: type TShapeClass = class of TShape; TShape = class(TObject) private FId: Integer; public function ToString: string; override; property Id: Integer read FId write FId; end; TCircle = class(TShape) private FDiameter: Integer; public property Diameter: Integer read FDiameter write FDiameter; end; TSquare = class(TShape) private FSideLength: Integer; public property SideLength: Integer read FSideLength write FSideLength; end; TShapeList = class(TObjectList<TShape>) end; How can I extend TShapeList such that I can do something similar to the following: procedure Foo; var ShapeList: TShapeList; Shape: TShape; Circle: TCircle; Square: TSquare; begin // Create ShapeList and fill with TCircles and TSquares for Circle in ShapeList<TCircle> do begin // do something with each TCircle in ShapeList end; for Square in ShapeList<TSquare> do begin // do something with each TSquare in ShapeList end; for Shape in ShapeList<TShape> do begin // do something with every object in TShapeList end; end; I've tried extending TShapeList using an adapted version of Primoz Gabrijelcic's bit on Parameterized Enumerators using a factory record as follows: type TShapeList = class(TObjectList<TShape>) public type TShapeFilterEnumerator<T: TShape> = record private FShapeList: TShapeList; FClass: TShapeClass; FIndex: Integer; function GetCurrent: T; public constructor Create(ShapeList: TShapeList); function MoveNext: Boolean; property Current: T read GetCurrent; end; TShapeFilterFactory<T: TShape> = record private FShapeList: TShapeList; public constructor Create(ShapeList: TShapeList); function GetEnumerator: TShapeFilterEnumerator<T>; end; function FilteredEnumerator<T: TShape>: TShapeFilterFactory<T>; end; Then I modified Foo to be: procedure Foo; var ShapeList: TShapeList; Shape: TShape; Circle: TCircle; Square: TSquare; begin // Create ShapeList and fill with TCircles and TSquares for Circle in ShapeList.FilteredEnumerator<TCircle> do begin // do something with each TCircle in ShapeList end; for Square in ShapeList.FilteredEnumerator<TSquare> do begin // do something with each TSquare in ShapeList end; for Shape in ShapeList.FilteredEnumerator<TShape> do begin // do something with every object in TShapeList end; end; However, Delphi 2010 is throwing an error when I try to compile Foo about Incompatible types: TCircle and TShape. If I comment out the TCircle loop, then I get a similar error about TSquare. If I comment the TSquare loop out as well, the code compiles and works. Well, it works in the sense that it enumerates every object since they all descend from TShape. The strange thing is that the line number that the compiler indicates is 2 lines beyond the end of my file. In my demo project, it indicated line 177, but there's only 175 lines. Is there any way to make this work? I'd like to be able to assign to Circle directly without going through any typecasts or checking in my for loop itself.

  • Remove a hover class from a checkbox once clicked

    - by seangeraghty
    I am trying to remove a hover class applied to a checkbox via CSS once the box has been clicked. Does anyone know how to do this? JSFiddle http://jsfiddle.net/sa9fe/ The checkbox code is: <div> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-1" class="regular-checkbox flaticon-boxing3" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-2" class="regular-checkbox" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-3" class="regular-checkbox" /> <input type="checkbox" id="checkbox-1-4" class="regular-checkbox" /> </div> And the CSS for the checkbox are as follows: .regular-checkbox { vertical-align: middle; text-align: center; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; align: center; color: #39c; width: 140px; height: 140px; -webkit-border-radius: 6px; -moz-border-radius: 6px; border-radius: 6px; background-color: #fff; border: solid 1px #ccc; -webkit-appearance: none; background-color: #fff; display: inline-block; position: relative;} .regular-checkbox:checked { background-color: #39c; color: #fff !important;} .regular-checkbox:hover { background-color: #f0f7f9;} .regular-checkbox:checked:after { color: #fff; position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 3px; color: #99a1a7; } So any suggestions? Also does anyone know how to change the highlight because at the moment it seems to highlight the edges of the box at a border radius of 3px whereas the boxes I am using are 6px. Thanks Sean (newbie to coding)

  • Json.NET - How to serialize a class using custom resolver

    - by Mendy
I want to serialize this class: public class CarDisplay { public string Name { get; set; } public string Brand { get; set; } public string Year { get; set; } public PictureDisplay[] Pictures { get; set; } } public class PictureDisplay { public int Id { get; set; } public string SecretKey { get; set; } public string AltText { get; set; } } To this Json test: { Name: "Name value", Brand: "Brand value", Year: "Year value", Pictures: ["url1", "url2", "url3"] } Note that each Car have an pictures array with only url string, instead of all the properties that Picture class have. I know that Json.NET have the notion of Custom Resolver, but I don't sure exactly how to use it.

  • Java NoClassDefFoundError when calling own class from instrumented method

    - by lethal_possum
Hello, I am working on a kit of simple Java agents to help me (and hopefully others) troubleshoot Java applications. One of the agents I would like to create instruments the JComponent.getToolTipText() method to quickly identify any GUI class by just hovering the mouse cursor over it. You can find the code of my transformer and the rest of the project here: http://sfn.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/sfn/core/src/main/java/org/leplus/sfn/transformer/JComponentTransformer.java?view=markup I launch my test GUI with the agent attached as follow: $ java -javaagent:target/jars/sfn-0.1-agent.jar=JComponent -cp lib/jars/bcel-5.2.jar:target/jars/sfn-0.1-test.jar:target/jars/sfn-0.1-agent.jar org.leplus.sfn.test.Main sfn-0.1-agent.jar contains the org.leplus.sfn.transformer.JComponentTransformer class. sfn-0.1-test.jar contains the org.leplus.sfn.test.Main class. Here is what the application prints when I launch it and I put the mouse over it: Loading agent: JComponent Instrumentation ready! Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/leplus/sfn/tracer/ComponentTracer at javax.swing.JComponent.getToolTipText(JComponent.java) at javax.swing.ToolTipManager$insideTimerAction.actionPerformed(ToolTipManager.java:662) ... What is surprising to me is that if I change my transformer to call any class from the JRE, it works. But it doesn't work when I call my own class org.leplus.sfn.tracer.ComponentTracer. My first guess was a classpath issue but the ComponentTracer is both in the classpath and in the agent's jar. So I am lost. If any of you see where I am missing something. Cheers, Tom

  • Class scope variable vs method scope variable

    - by Masud
I know that variable scope is enclosed by a start of block { and an end of block }. If the same variable is declared within the block, then the compile error Variable already defined occurs. But take a look at following example. public class Test{ int x=0;// Class scope variable public void m(){ int x=9; //redeclaration of x is valid within the scope of same x. if(true){ int x=7; // but this redeclaration generates a compile time error. } } Here, x can be redeclared in a method, although it's already declared in the class. But in the if block, x can't be redeclared. Why is it that redeclaration of a class scope variable doesn't generate an error, but a method scope variable redeclaration generates an error?

  • Calling a method with an arg of Class<T> where T is a parameterized type

    - by Brian Ferris
I'm attempting to call a constructor method that looks like: public static SomeWrapper<T> method(Class<T> arg); When T is an unparameterized type like String or Integer, calling is straightforward: SomeWrapper<String> wrapper = method(String.class); Things get tricky when T is a parameterized type like List<String>. The following is not valid: SomeWrapper<List<String>> wrapper = method(List<String>.class); About the only thing I could come up with is: List<String> o = new ArrayList<String>(); Class<List<String>> c = (Class<List<String>>) o.getClass(); SomeWrapper<List<String>> wrapper = method(c); Surely there is an easier way that doesn't require the construction of an additional object?

  • asp.net mvc create a c# class in an ascx file for design purposes

    - by Julian
Hi, I am developing a web application using asp.net mvc. I have come across the need to Temporarily create a class in the ascx/aspx file. This class will replace the Model during the development of the page. It will also hold some test data for the user to have the chance to see some results. Once we are happy with the layout on the screen, I will inherit the correct Model class through the Control tag. Can you please advise if this is possible and how to do it? This does not work: <% class Modelo { public Guid Guid { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } %> Thanks in advance, Be happy - Julian

  • A Question about .net Rfc2898DeriveBytes class?

    - by IbrarMumtaz
What is the difference in this class? as posed to just using Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(string object); I have had relative success with either approach, the former is a more long winded approach where as the latter is simple and to the point. Both seem to allow you to do the same thing eventually but I am struggling to the see the point in using the former over the latter. The basic concept I have been able to grasp is that you can convert string passwords into byte arrays to be used for e.g a symmetric encryption class, AesManaged. Via the RFC class but you get to use SaltValues and password when creating your rfc object. I assume its more secure but still thats an uneducated guess at best ! Also that it allows you to return byte arrays of a certain size, well something like that. heres a few examples to show you where I am coming from? byte[] myPassinBytes = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("some password"); or string password = "P@%5w0r]>"; byte[] saltArray = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("this is my salt"); Rfc2898DeriveBytes rfcKey = new Rfc2898DeriveBytes(password, saltArray); The 'rfcKey' object can now be used towards setting up the the .Key or .IV properties on a Symmetric Encryption Algorithm class. ie. RijndaelManaged rj = new RijndaelManaged (); rj.Key = rfcKey.Getbytes(rj.KeySize / 8); rj.IV = rfcKey.Getbytes(rj.Blocksize / 8); 'rj' should be ready to go ! The confusing part ... so rather than using the 'rfcKey' object can I not just use my 'myPassInBytes' array to help set-up my 'rj' object???? I have tried doing this in VS2008 and the immediate answer is NO ! but have you guys got a better educated answer as to why the RFC class is used over the other alternative I have mentioned above and why????

  • AJAX Callback and Javascript class variables assignments

    - by Gianluca
    I am trying to build a little javascript class for geocoding addresses trough Google Maps API. I am learning Javascript and AJAX and I still can't figure out how can I initialize class variables trough a callback: // Here is the Location class, it takes an address and // initialize a GClientGeocoder. this.coord[] is where we'll store lat/lng function Location(address) { this.geo = new GClientGeocoder(); this.address = address; this.coord = []; } // This is the geoCode function, it geocodes object.address and // need a callback to handle the response from Google Location.prototype.geoCode = function(geoCallback) { this.geo.getLocations(this.address, geoCallback); } // Here we go: the callback. // I made it a member of the class so it would be able // to handle class variable like coord[]. Obviously it don't work. Location.prototype.geoCallback = function(result) { this.coord[0] = result.Placemark[0].Point.coordinates[1]; this.coord[1] = result.Placemark[0].Point.coordinates[0]; window.alert("Callback lat: " + this.coord[0] + "; lon: " + this.coord[1]); } // Main function initialize() { var Place = new Location("Tokyo, Japan"); Place.geoCode(Place.geoCallback); window.alert("Main lat: " + Place.coord[0] + " lon: " + Place.coord[1]); } google.setOnLoadCallback(initialize); Thank you for helping me out!

  • Lazy loading of Blob properties of one class

    - by Khosro
Hi, My class contains "summary" and "title" properties those are Blob and other properties. Code:(I write some part of class) public class News extends BaseEntity{ @Lob @Basic(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) public String getSummary() { return summary; } @Lob @Basic(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) public String getTitle() { return title; } @Temporal(TemporalType.TIMESTAMP) public Date getPublishDate() { return publishDate; } } I instrument this class to lazy load of Blob properties using this class "org.hibernate.tool.instrument.javassist.InstrumentTask". When i write this code to retrieve only summary of new , newsDAO.findByid(1L).getSummary(); Hibernate generates these queries: Hibernate: select news0_.id as id1_, news0_.entityVersion as entityVe2_1_, news0_.publishDate as publish15_1_, news0_.url as url1_ from News news0_ Hibernate: select news_.summary as summary1_, news_.title as title1_ from News news_ where news_.id=? I have two qurestions: 1.I only want to retrieve "summary" property not "title" property, but Hibernate queries show that it also retrieve "title" property,Why this happens(i want to lazy load of "property")? It seems when i load one of Blob property ,Hibernate loads all of them. Why?(This is my main question) 2.Why Hibernate generates two queries for retrieving only "summary" property of news? Khosro.

  • Webservice complex types and class inheritance

    - by pygorex1
Using the following Webservice definition using aClientArgs as a complex type: [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService] public class Controller : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public void save_client(aClientArgs client) { // Save client data } } Then defining aClientArgs as a sub-class: public class aArgs { public string id = null; public string name = null; } public class aClientArgs : aArgs { public string address = null; public string website = null; } Returns the following WSDL fragment for the save_client args: <save_client xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <client> <address>string</address> <website>string</website> </client> </save_client> When I'm expecting the following: <save_client xmlns="http://tempuri.org/"> <client> <id>string</id> <name>string</name> <address>string</address> <website>string</website> </client> </save_client> So it appears that the .NET WebService is not treating inherited properties as arguments/variables for purposes of a web service. How do I get .NET to also use the properties of the base class?

  • Assembly reference in Silverlight class library and used only in xaml is not packaged in XAP

    - by Brandon Copeland
I have a 3rd party library (A). That library is referenced in my Silverlight class library (B). That Silverlight class library is referenced in my Silverlight application (C). The 3rd party library is not explicitly referenced in the Silverlight application. It seems that "A" is added to my XAP if "A" is used in any class in "B" because of a chain in dependencies (C - B - A). This is the behavior I would expect and need. If "A" is never explicitly used in a C# class but only defined in Xaml, the assembly is not packaged to the XAP. Maybe "A" includes a control that is only used declaratively and never referenced otherwise. Is this behavior by design? Am I missing a property somewhere that controls this? I would prefer to not explicitly reference the third party library in my Silverlight application. What's to best practice to ensure all necessary assemblies are packaged in the XAP?
