  • Javascript/Jquery Super Scrollorama Navigation Issues

    - by Rosencruez
    On a Wordpress site I am currently working on, my client wanted the different sections of the front page to slide up from the bottom and cover up the previous section, like a wipe or slide transition. Using super scrollorama found here: http://johnpolacek.github.com/superscrollorama/, I managed to achieve the desired result. Next, I needed to create a navigation menu on the front page only. I did so, and set anchors at various different points on the pages. I also used the scrollTo library for scolling animations when I click the nav menu links. However, there are a number of problems I have encountered: When at the top and I click "showcase", it brings me down to the showcase section, but the products section (the div right after it) is overlapping it. Other divs seems to have the same problem of the following divs overlapping the current one I can only navigate forwards. When I try to go backwards, it won't (except for "Home") I thought it might have something to do with the CSS "top" property of the divs, so I tried resetting them every time the click function kicked in, but it didn't work. So I removed it for the time being. Currently set the javascript to prevent the default action of scrolling to the anchors and instead setting it to scroll to the actual divs themselves. However, I'm still having the same issues. Here is the site I am currently working on: http://breathe.simalam.ca/ Here is the javascript for the scrolling: $(document).ready(function() { jQuery('.home-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo(0, 1000, {queue:true}); }); jQuery('.showcase-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo('#showcase_content', 1000, {queue:true}); }); jQuery('.products-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo('#products_content', 1000, {queue:true}); }); jQuery('.about-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo('#about_content', 1000, {queue:true}); }); jQuery('.locator-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo('#locator_content', 1000, {queue:true}); }); jQuery('.contact-link').click(function(e){ e.preventDefault(); jQuery(window).scrollTo('#contact_content', 1000, {queue:true}); }); }); scrollorama code: $(document).ready(function() { $('#wrapper').css('display','block'); var controller = $.superscrollorama(); var pinDur = 4000; /* set duration of pin scroll in pixels */ // create animation timeline for pinned element var pinAnimations = new TimelineLite(); pinAnimations .append([ TweenMax.to($('#showcase'), .5, {css:{top:0}}) ], .5) .append([ TweenMax.to($('#products'), .5, {css:{top:0}}) ], .5) .append([ TweenMax.to($('#about'), .5, {css:{top:0}}) ], .5) .append([ TweenMax.to($('#locator'), .5, {css:{top:0}}) ], .5) .append([ TweenMax.to($('#contact'), .5, {css:{top:0}}) ], .5) .append(TweenMax.to($('#pin-frame-unpin'), .5, {css:{top:'100px'}})); controller.pin($('#examples-pin'), pinDur, { anim:pinAnimations, onPin: function() { $('#examples-pin').css('height','100%'); }, onUnpin: function() { $('#examples-pin').css('height','2000px'); } }); }); All of the section divs are inside a parent div. The section divs all have a height, width, and top of 100%. The parent div containing all of these section divs are as follows: #examples-pin { position: relative; /* relative positioning for transitions to work? */ width: 101%; /* max width */ height: 2000px; /* height of 2000px for now */ overflow: hidden; /* hide the overflow for transitions to work */ margin-bottom: -200px; /* negative bottom margin */ }

  • Suggest Cassandra data model for an existing schema

    - by Andriy Bohdan
Hello guys! I hope there's someone who can help me suggest a suitable data model to be implemented using nosql database Apache Cassandra. More of than I need it to work under high loads and large amounts of data. Simplified I have 3 types of objects: Product Tag ProductTag Product: key - string key name - string .... - some other fields Tag: key - string key name - unique tag words ProductTag: product_key - foreign key referring to product tag_key - foreign key referring to tag rating - this is rating of tag for this product Each product may have 0 or many tags. Tag may be assigned to 1 or many products. Means relation between products and tags is many-to-many in terms of relational databases. Value of "rating" is updated "very" often. I need to be run the following queries Select objects by keys Select tags for product ordered by rating Select products by tag order by rating Update rating by product_key and tag_key The most important is to make these queries really fast on large amounts of data, considering that rating is constantly updated.

  • Can I prevent logon wallpaper from being changed when changing Windows theme?

    - by eidylon
Hello all; I use TweaksLogon to change the logon wallpaper on my Win7x64 Ultimate system. However if I change my windows theme, it resets the logon wallpaper back to the default. Is there any way this can be prevented so that it will keep my chosen logon wall when changing the windows theme? I've tried both the programs at this question: http://superuser.com/questions/113817/customize-logon-or-welcome-screen-in-windows-7

  • Update table rows in a non-sequential way using the output of a php script

    - by moviemaniac
Good evening everybody, this is my very first question and I hope I've done my search in stack's archive at best!!! I need to monitor several devices by querying theyr mysql database and gather some informations. Then these informations are presented to the operator in an html table. I have wrote a php script wich loads devices from a multidimensional array, loops through the array and gather data and create the table. The table structure is the following: <table id="monitoring" class="rt cf"> <thead class="cf"> <tr> <th>Device</th> <th>Company</th> <th>Data1</th> <th>Data2</th> <th>Data3</th> <th>Data4</th> <th>Data5</th> <th>Data6</th> <th>Data7</th> <th>Data8</th> <th>Data9</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr id="Device1"> <td>Devide 1 name</td> <td>xx</td> <td><img src="/path_to_images/ajax_loader.gif" width="24px" /></td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr id="Device2"> <td>Devide 1 name</td> <td>xx</td> <td><img src="/path_to_images/ajax_loader.gif" width="24px" /></td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> </tr> <tr id="DeviceN"> <td>Devide 1 name</td> <td>xx</td> <td><img src="/path_to_images/ajax_loader.gif" width="24px" /></td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> <td>&nbsp;</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> The above table is directly populated when I first load the page; then, with a very simple function, i update this table every minute without reloading the page: <script> var auto_refresh = setInterval( function() { jQuery("#monitoring").load('/overview.php').fadeIn("slow"); var UpdateTime= new Date(); var StrUpdateTime; StrUpdateTime= ('0' + UpdateTime.getHours()).slice(-2) + ':' + ('0' + UpdateTime.getMinutes()).slice(-2) + ':' + ('0' + UpdateTime.getSeconds()).slice(-2); jQuery("#progress").text("Updated on: " + StrUpdateTime); }, 60000); </script> The above code runs in a wordpress environment. It comes out that when devices are too much and internet connection is not that fast, the script times out, even if i dramatically increase the timeout period. So it is impossible even to load the page the first time... Therefore I would like to change my code so that I can handle each row as a single entity, with its own refresh period. So when the user first loads the page, he sees n rows (one per device) with the ajax loader image... then an update cycle should start independently for each row, so that the user sees data gathered from each database... then ajax loader when the script is trying to retrieve data, then the gathered data once it has been collected or an error message stating that it is not possible to gather data since hour xx:yy:zz. So rows updating should be somewhat independent from the others, like if each row updating was a single closed process. So that rows updating is not done sequentially from the first row to the last. I hope I've sufficiently detailed my problem. Currently I feel like I am at a dead-end. Could someone please show me somewhere to start from?

  • Upgrading Blog to WordPress, keep old one or redirect?

    - by Spazm
I have had a blog for around 4 years now that has gained some success and gets tons of residual and organic traffic. I am using an outdated version of BlogEngine.NET and we are going to switch to WordPress. Currently, our blog is at ourwebsite.com/blog, and I don't really want to mess with our web server. I setup a new server just for WordPress and instead of dealing with proxies and things that are above my head, the new blog will be at blog.oursite.com. I am trying to figure out the best way to go about doing this. We value our search engine rankings very much so, as that is where 90% of our traffic comes from. Would I be best off: Importing all of the old blog posts from oursite.com/blog to blog.oursite.com and then redirecting all of the articles, categories, authors, pages and tags to the new blog and giving up the direct links to our current site. Keeping all of our current articles as they are, and only add new content to the new blog.oursite.com and just kind of let the old blog float around our site.

  • New Themes New Benefits (WinForms)

We believe that working hard on something can be great fun at the end when everything is done and the seeds have resulted in the sweetest fruits. This is the case with the new Theming Mechanism and the new Visual Style Builder which we introduced as of Q1 2010.   I am not going to dive into any details on the new concepts behind all this stuff, but will simply focus on the numbers: both in terms of loading speed and memory usage. As you may already know, the new approach we use to style our controls uses the so called Style Repository which stores style settings that can be reused throughout the whole theme. As a result, we have estimated that the size of our themes has been significantly reduced. For instance, the size of all XML files of the Desert theme sums up to 1.83 MB. The case with the new version of the Desert theme is drastically different. Despite the fact that the new theme consists of more XML files compared to the old, its size is only 707 KB!   Furthermore, we have performed a simple performance test since the common sense tells us that such a great improvement in terms of memory footprint should be followed by a great improvement in terms of speed. We have estimated that loading and applying the new Desert theme to a form containing all RadControls for WinForms takes roughly 30% less time compared to the same operation with the old version of the Desert theme. The following screenshots briefly demonstrate the scenario which we used to estimate the loading time difference between the old and the new Desert theme:     Here, the old Desert theme is applied to all controls on the Form which takes almost 1,3 seconds.     Applying the new Desert theme (based on the new Theming Mechanism) takes about 0,78 seconds.   On top of all these great improvements, we can add the fact that the new Visual Style Builder significantly reduces the time needed to style a control by entirely changing the approach compared to the old version of this tool. You can be sure that we have already prepared some great new stuff for Q1 2010 SP1 that will simplify things further so that designing themes with the new VSB will become more fun than ever!Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • File permission set to 644 and wordpress cannot access them?

    - by Joel
I'm having problems with WordPress not be able to access files. When installing certain themes and plugins, it comes up with an error saying that it cannot create the directory. When I try to edit style.css it says that I need to make that file writable. The file permissions were set to 644. It wouldn't work until I changed the settings to 777 or 776. WordPress was installed by our local ISP. Anyone got any ideas? It seems that WordPress has not been setup properly. Is there anyway I can fix this without reinstalling the whole thing?

Java’s platform independence, high level of functionality, security, and developer productivity, address the key pain points in building embedded solutions... and that’s not just our opinion. Take a look at the new IDC report on Oracle’s stewardship of Java, “Java: Two and a half Years After the Acquisition” (doc #236309, August 2012). Java already powers around 3 billion devices worldwide, with traditional desktops and servers being only a small portion of that, and the ‘Internet of Things‘ is just really starting to explode. It is estimated that within five years, intelligent and connected embedded devices will outnumber desktops and mobile phones combined, and will generate the majority of the traffic on the Internet. Is your platform and services strategy ready for the coming disruptions and opportunities? It should come as no surprise that Oracle is enthusiastically focused on Java for Embedded .  New this year, Oracle is demonstrating its further commitment to the embedded marketplace by offering, for the first time, a dedicated conference focused on the business aspects of embedded Java: Java Embedded @ JavaOne. Co-located with the technically-focused JavaOne conference, Java Embedded @ JavaOne will run for two days in San Francisco targeting C-level executives, architects, business leaders, and decision makers. With 24 inspired business sessions with expert speakers from 18 prominent companies driving the next generation of Java Embedded business solutions (such as Cinterion, ARM, Hitachi and Rockwell Automation), attendees will learn how Java Embedded technologies and solutions can offer compelling value and a clear path forward to business efficiency and agility. You’ll also see how Oracle’s comprehensive technology portfolio can deliver a complete ‘Machine to Machine’ platform, from device to datacenter, resulting in a highly secure, resilient, high-performance and cost-effective solution. Seating is limited and we expect a lot of interest in this new event, so please register now! Note that if you are already attending the Oracle OpenWorld or JavaOne conferences, you can attend this conference for only $100 more. Watch my video below to find out more. I hope to see you there! • File permission set to 644 and wordpress cannot access them?

    - by Joel
Hi everyone, I'm having problems with WordPress not be able to access files. Thanks, Joel

I could lookup the data required by doing: from p in DBSet<Purchases>.Include("User").Include("Product") select p; However, I am concern that this may have a performance impact because it will retrieve the full objects. Alternatively, I could select only the fields i need: from p in DBSet<Purchases>.Include("User").Include("Product") select new SimplePurchaseInfo() { UserName = p.User.name, Userid = p.User.Id, ProductName = p.Product.Name ... etc }; So my question is: Whats the best practice in doing this? == EDIT Thanks for all the replies. [QUESTION 1]: I want to know whether all views should work with flat ViewModels with very specific data for that view, or should the ViewModels contain the entity objects. Real example: User reviews Products var query = from dr in productRepository.FindAllReviews() where dr.User.UserId = 'userid' select dr; string sql = ((ObjectQuery)query).ToTraceString(); SELECT [Extent1].[ProductId] AS [ProductId], [Extent1].[Comment] AS [Comment], [Extent1].[CreatedTime] AS [CreatedTime], [Extent1].[Id] AS [Id], [Extent1].[Rating] AS [Rating], [Extent1].[UserId] AS [UserId], [Extent3].[CreatedTime] AS [CreatedTime1], [Extent3].[CreatorId] AS [CreatorId], [Extent3].[Description] AS [Description], [Extent3].[Id] AS [Id1], [Extent3].[Name] AS [Name], [Extent3].[Price] AS [Price], [Extent3].[Rating] AS [Rating1], [Extent3].[ShopId] AS [ShopId], [Extent3].[Thumbnail] AS [Thumbnail], [Extent3].[Creator_UserId] AS [Creator_UserId], [Extent4].[Comment] AS [Comment1], [Extent4].[DateCreated] AS [DateCreated], [Extent4].[DateLastActivity] AS [DateLastActivity], [Extent4].[DateLastLogin] AS [DateLastLogin], [Extent4].[DateLastPasswordChange] AS [DateLastPasswordChange], [Extent4].[Email] AS [Email], [Extent4].[Enabled] AS [Enabled], [Extent4].[PasswordHash] AS [PasswordHash], [Extent4].[PasswordSalt] AS [PasswordSalt], [Extent4].[ScreenName] AS [ScreenName], [Extent4].[Thumbnail] AS [Thumbnail1], [Extent4].[UserId] AS [UserId1], [Extent4].[UserName] AS [UserName] FROM [ProductReviews] AS [Extent1] INNER JOIN [Users] AS [Extent2] ON [Extent1].[UserId] = [Extent2].[UserId] LEFT OUTER JOIN [Products] AS [Extent3] ON [Extent1].[ProductId] = [Extent3].[Id] LEFT OUTER JOIN [Users] AS [Extent4] ON [Extent1].[UserId] = [Extent4].[UserId] WHERE N'615005822' = [Extent2].[UserId] or from d in productRepository.FindAllProducts() from dr in d.ProductReviews where dr.User.UserId == 'userid' orderby dr.CreatedTime select new ProductReviewInfo() { product = new SimpleProductInfo() { Id = d.Id, Name = d.Name, Thumbnail = d.Thumbnail, Rating = d.Rating }, Rating = dr.Rating, Comment = dr.Comment, UserId = dr.UserId, UserScreenName = dr.User.ScreenName, UserThumbnail = dr.User.Thumbnail, CreateTime = dr.CreatedTime }; SELECT [Extent1].[Id] AS [Id], [Extent1].[Name] AS [Name], [Extent1].[Thumbnail] AS [Thumbnail], [Extent1].[Rating] AS [Rating], [Extent2].[Rating] AS [Rating1], [Extent2].[Comment] AS [Comment], [Extent2].[UserId] AS [UserId], [Extent4].[ScreenName] AS [ScreenName], [Extent4].[Thumbnail] AS [Thumbnail1], [Extent2].[CreatedTime] AS [CreatedTime] FROM [Products] AS [Extent1] INNER JOIN [ProductReviews] AS [Extent2] ON [Extent1].[Id] = [Extent2].[ProductId] INNER JOIN [Users] AS [Extent3] ON [Extent2].[UserId] = [Extent3].[UserId] LEFT OUTER JOIN [Users] AS [Extent4] ON [Extent2].[UserId] = [Extent4].[UserId] WHERE N'userid' = [Extent3].[UserId] ORDER BY [Extent2].[CreatedTime] ASC [QUESTION 2]: Whats with the ugly outer joins?

  • How do I use a custom #theme function to a fieldset in a drupal module?

    - by Rob Crowell
I have a module that builds a form that includes a fieldset. Instead of using the <legend> element to render the fieldset title, I want to place this content in a <div> element instead. But I want to change the behavior only for the form returned by my module, so I don't want to place any new functionality into my theme's template.php file. In mymod.module I have defined: // custom rendering function for fieldset elements function theme_mymod_fieldset($element) { return 'test'; } // implement hook_theme function mymod_theme() { return array( 'mymod_fieldset' => array('arguments' => array('element' => NULL)), 'mymod_form' => array('arguments' => array()) ); } // return a form that is based on the 'Basic Account Info' category of the user profile function mymod_form() { // load the user's profile global $user; $account = user_load($user->uid); // load the profile form, and then edit it $form_state = array(); $form = drupal_retrieve_form('user_profile_form', $form_state, $account, 'Basic Account Info'); // set the custom #theme function for this fieldset $form['Basic Account Info']['#theme'] = 'mymod_fieldset'; // more form manipulations // ... return $form; } When my page gets rendered, I expected to see the fieldset representing 'Basic Account Info' to be wholly replaced by my test message 'test'. Instead what happens is that the <fieldset> and <legend> elements are rendered as normal, but with the body of the fieldset replaced by the test message instead, like this: <fieldset> <legend>Basic Account Info</legend> test </fieldset> Why doesn't my #theme function have the chance to replace the entire <fieldset> element? If I wrap a textfield in this function instead, I am able to completely replace the <input> element along with its label. Furthermore, if I provide an override in my site's template.php for theme_fieldset, it works as expected and I am able to completely replace the <fieldset>, so I know it is possible. What's different about providing #theme functions to fieldsets inside a module?

  • Moving an element with InsertAfter, but only insert it the parent of the elements?

    - by alexchenco
I did the following: jQuery('.businessdirectory-category .wpbdp-rating-info').insertAfter('.businessdirectory-category .title'); To move .wpbdp-rating-info after .title. But there are 3 .wpbdp-rating-info in the page so now each .businessdirectory-category has 3 .wpbdp-rating-info How can I do it so that each .businessdirectory-category only has its own .wpbdp-rating-infoappended to its own.title`? EDIT:
