• Wpf ListViewItem Background binding to enum

  Hi Guys I´ve got a ListView which is bound to the ObservableCollection mPersonList. The Class Person got an enum Sex. What i want to do is to set the background of the ListViewItem to green if the person is male and to red if the person is female. Thanks for the answers!

  I have my little designer tool (my program). On the left side I have TreeView and on the right site I have Accordion. When I select a node I want to dynamically build Accordion Items based on Properties from DataContext of selected node. Selecting nodes works fine, and when I use this sample code for testing it works also. • WPF: Soft deletes and binding?

  I have custom objects which implement INotifyProperyChanged and now I'm wondering if it is possible to implement soft delete which would play nicely with binding? Each object would have a IsDeleted property and if this property would be set to true than it would not be displayed in GUI. I was thinking about making a custom markup extension which would decorate Binding class but it hadn't worked out as expected. Now I'm considering using MultiBinding with IsDeleted as one of bound properties so that converter would be able to figure out which object is deleted. But this solution sounds quite complicated and boring. Does anybody have an idea how to implement soft deletes for binding?

• WPF TextBlock Binding to DependencyProperty

  Hi, I have what I believe to be about one of the most simple cases of attempting to bind a view to a dependencyproperty in the view model. It seems that the initial changes are reflected in the view but other changes to the DP do not update the view's TextBlock. I'm probably just missing something simple but I just can't see what it is. Please take a look... My XAML has a status bar on the bottom of the window. • Make a c# / wpf event fire only once?

  I have a case where I want a given event to execute once, and only once. I'm trying to do it this way, but I'm having prolems (else I wouldn't be asking). Note that the following code is inside the function that decides that the event needs to be fired. EventHandler h = delegate(Object sender, EventArgs e) { FiringControl.TheEvent -= h; // <-- Error, use of unassigned local variable "h" // Do stuff } FiringControl.TheEvent += h; In general this should work because of the way scope is preserved for delegates until after they're done running, but, since h is in the process of being built when I try to use it it is still considered to be "uninitialized", apparently.

• Can a custom WPF control implement the IsDefault property

  I have a custom button control that does not derive from Button. Is it possible for me to implement the equivalent of IsDefault so that the command associated with my control will be invoked. I was hoping that this was an attached property that I could add to any control but as far as I can tell it doesn't seem to be. Am I out of luck if my control does not derive from Button or is there at least a reasonable workaround?

  If I have a DataGrid in a XAML form, and add the following style: <Style TargetType="Button"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="2"/> </Style> The data grid locks up the application. I found if I put the style into a resource block that isn't seen by any data grid, then it seems to be happy. However, if I want to have the style above applied to all buttons on my window, I have to put it in various resource blocks that cannot be seen by the data grid. Is there any way to avoid this?

• How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

  Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!   Hi, I have a ListBox bound to an ObservableCollection with an ItemTemplate that contains another ListBox. First of all, I tried to get the last selected item of all the listboxes (either the parent and the inner ones) from my MainWindowViewModel this way: public object SelectedItem { get { return this.selectedItem; } set { this.selectedItem = value; base.NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } So, for example, in the DataTemplate of the items of the parent ListBox I've got this: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Tails}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=DataContext.SelectedItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type Window}}}"/> The problem now, is that when I select an item from the parent ListBox and then an item from a child listbox, I get this: http://i40.tinypic.com/j7bvig.jpg As you can see, two items are selected at the same time.   I'm working on a control template for an inherited TextBox class. I'd like to use this template to add additional controls with the ScrollViewer. I can achieve that goal just fine, what I can't do recreate the border in such away that it matches the Windows look and feel. I have Windows Classic as my theme on XP. Textboxes are typically shown with the standard inset border style. With the XP Fischer Price theme, borders of textbox are a flat style and light blue. Is there any way of specifying something like this in the template? Ideally it would use the theme default (grey inset for Classic, flat and light blue for fischer price theme).

• WPF Application Typing in Custom TextBox CPU Jumping from 3 to 80 percent

  I have created a RichTextBox called SharpTextBox which indicates and limits the number of characters that can be typed in it. The implementation is shown in the following link: http://www.highoncoding.com/Articles/673_Creating_SharpRichTextBox_for_Live_Character_Count_in_WPF.aspx Anyway when I start typing in the TextBox it goes from 3% to 78%. The TextBox updates the Label control which shows the number of characters remaining for the count. How can I increase the performance of the textbox? UPDATE: I read there seems to be some problem with the TextRange.Text property which kills performance.

  I have a storyboard like the following Duration="0:0:1" Completed="DeviceExplorer_Completed" The animation for some reason does not appear to be working linearly. If I change the duration to something like Duration="0:0:0.8" and assign the stroyboard to a MouseEnter event of a button, the animation moves but does not complete for some reason, I move my mouse over the button a few times before it enetually completes... Any ideas why?

• I've got a ComboBox that's giving me grief in WPF using the MVVM pattern

  Here's my code: <ComboBox Grid.Column="1" Grid.Row="9" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=PriorityEntries}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=Priority,Mode=TwoWay}"/> The comboBox is bound properly with PriorityEntries, and when i change the value of the comboBox the "set" of the bound property(Priority) is called setting it to what it needs to be. However, when i close the UserControl that this combobox resides, it calls the set property again with a value of null and then sets what the selectedItem was to null. Why is the comboBox being bound again when I close the usercontrol. I tried setting the mode to OneTime, but that won't reflect any changes...

  I have a list box that scrolls images horizontally. I have the following XAML I used blend to create it. It originally had a x:Key on the Style TaregetType line, MSDN said to remove it, as I was getting errors on that. Now I'm getting this error: Error 3 Operation is not valid while ItemsSource is in use. Access and modify elements with ItemsControl.ItemsSource instead. I don't understand how to apply all of this junk that way, I've tried several thing, nothing is working. My goal is to have the selected item's background be white, not blue. But in my console i get: Show me Do NOT show me Is there a way to turn off the bubbling events? (also, "First" has to be clickable, so removing the event there doesn't solve the problem) Thnx
