  I have been trying to obtain a public map api key for my Android app. However the public key that I receive from Google does not work. I have been using the following steps: Obtaining Release Public Map API Key 1.Obtain Private Key: Use Export of Eclipse to sign release application and create new keystore 2.Obtain MD5 certificate: using alias and keystore set up use keytool in Java directory: keytool -list -alias poly_alias -keystore copy MD5 certificate 3.Obtain API Map Key: Visit http://code.google.com/android/maps-api-signup.html and enter MD5 certificate copy key 4.Use New Map API Key: insert new map key for string in strings.xml for string mapApiKey Does anyone have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

• Rails - set POST request limit (file upload)

  I am building a file uploader for Rails, using CarrierWave. I am pretty happy about it's API, except that I don't seem to be able to cut file uploads that exceed a limit on the fly. I found this plugin for validation, but the problem is that it happens after the upload is completed. It is completely unacceptable in my case, as any user could take the site down by uploading a huge file. So, I figure that the way would be to use some Rack configuration or middleware that will limit POST body size as it receives. I am hosting on Heroku, as context. *I am aware of https://github.com/dwilkie/carrierwave_direct but it doesn't solve my issue as I have to resize first and discard the original large image.

• Expanded securityadmin

  I'm aware that sysadmin is documented as the server role necessary for creating logins (SQL/Windows-integrated); nevertheless, I'm tasked to find out if there's any other server role (built-in or otherwise) that can be used. To be specific, I'm looking to setup one or two logins with access to create logins, create [database] users, assign users to [database] roles. Potentially reset passwords, but most of the logins are Windows-integrated and it's not necessary. Cannot have access to data at all, nor can these logins have rights to update tables nor create/update roles. Seems my only options so far are to set these 2 logins with securityadmin server role and for the specific databases, configure with db_securityadmin and db_accessadmin... but this configuration doesn't allow for creating logins.

• Dynamic themes and custom styles

  I've got an app with two themes (dark and light) that can be selected at runtime. This works. I also have a ListView with rows that can have one of three different layouts, each of which has a style (say, different colors). This also works. But I can't get these two features to work together. I really need six different styles, three for one theme (dark) and three for the other (light), but I can't figure out how to choose a style for a list item based on the current theme, or get that effect any other way by using XML files. My three layouts each point to a custom theme that sets the color, but that overrides whatever theme I've got set. Themes can only contain items that are "styleable", so I can't put my own custom items in there. There may be a way to do this programmatically, but I was hoping to do it declaratively. Any ideas?

• Oracle: Difference in execution plans between databases

  Hello, I am comparing queries my development and production database. They are both Oracle 9i, but almost every single query has a completely different execution plan depending on the database. All tables/indexes are the same, but the dev database has about 1/10th the rows for each table. On production, the query execution plan it picks for most queries is different from development, and the cost is somtimes 1000x higher. Queries on production also seem to be not using the correct indexes for queries in some cases (full table access). I have ran dbms_utility.analyze schema on both databases recently as well in the hopes the CBO would figure something out. Is there some other underlying oracle configuration that could be causing this? I am a developer mostly so this kind of DBA analysis is fairly confusing at first..

  I have looked into the binaries produced by MSVC 2010 from my source code, and saw everything being filled with "junk". I don't know how to explain, but my executables are being added too much unnecessary information, like: Lots of Microsoft default error messages, I don't want them XML schema settings (Why!?) Other things not important for the execution of the main program How can I stop MSVC doing this? Do I have to switch to GCC? In all other programs (written in C++ too, from Word processors to games), this junk simply doesn't exist.

  I need to allow an external client to change the IP of the Linux machine where the program is running (C++). I already know how to list all the local interfaces and the current IPs assigned to them. I also know how to programatically change said IPs. What I need to know is how to make this change permanent so, if the machine reboots, it keeps the same network configuration. What's the best way to do this? Manually parsing /etc/network/interfaces? Calling some linux command? Edit: I'm using Debian. Thanks!

  I have a dropwizard project and I have maintained a config.yml file at the ROOT of the project (basically at the same level as pom.xml). Here I have specified the HTTP port to be used as follows: http: port:9090 adminPort:9091 I have the following code in my TestService.java file public class TestService extends Service<TestConfiguration> { @Override public void initialize(Bootstrap<TestConfiguration> bootstrap) { bootstrap.setName("test"); } @Override public void run(TestConfiguration config, Environment env) throws Exception { // initialize some resources here.. } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { new TestService().run(new String[] { "server" }); } } I expect the config.yml file to be used to determine the HTTP port. However the app always seems to start with the default ports 8080 and 8081. Also note that I am running this from eclipse. Any insights as to what am I doing wrong here ?

  TiddlyWiki is a great idea, brilliantly implemented. I'm using it as a portable personal "knowledge manager," and these are the prize virtues: It travels on my USB flash memory stick and runs on any computer, regardless of operating system No software installation is needed on the computer (TiddlyWiki merely uses the Internet browser) No Internet connection is needed In terms of data retrieval functionality, it mimics a relational database (use of tags and internal links) Let's say I've got a million words of prose in 4,000 tiddlers (posts). I'm still testing, but it looks like TiddlyWiki gets very slow. Is there an app like TiddlyWiki that keeps all the virtues I listed above, and allows more storage? NOTE: Separation of content and presentation would be ideal. It's nifty that TiddlyWiki has everything in a single HTML document, but it's unhelpful in many ways. I don't care if a directory of assorted docs is needed (SQLite, XML?), as long as it's functionally self-contained.

  I'm trying to setup a tomcat6 server, and I'm trying to match another setup someone else established. However, my deployment (default Ubuntu install) uses a policy.d/ directory structure, and the established server just uses a catalina.policy file. I've tried setting every entry in policy.d to match the given catalina.policy, but I still get the following stacktrace on boot (from localhost log). I have two questions, then. First, how do I get tomcat to use a single poilcy file, rather than the directory structure presented by policy.d/? • Server 2012 DFS New Member Issue

  I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes. Below is the crash info, any idea what is causing this? What i am doing is fairly straight forward and don't see why this would be happening. • How to find and fix issue with Pound and HAProxy

  Pound sits in front of HAProxy (on the same box) to perform SSL off-load. Requests are passed to 127.0.0.1:80 where HAProxy then balances the requests across backend servers for a hosted ASP .NET web app. A user is getting HTTP error 500 (Internal Server Error) returned to their browser this morning and I can see it is comming from Pound. They see no log entry in their web app (IIS) server logs, so its not hitting the back end servers. I think the problem is possibly with HAProxy.   I currently set up a script to restart my http servers + php5 fpm but can't get it to work. I have googled and have found that mostly permissions are the problems of my error but can't figure it out. • Apache2 mod_proxy to remote Tomcat7 - slow response

  Been stuck with this one for a few days. Will try to provide as much information as possible, but please feel free to ask for extra detail. I have 2 VMs behind a NAT, 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.102, both running Ubuntu 11.04 x64. The first one is mapped to the exterior and is our webserver, has one Apache/2.2.17 install with several vhosts to serve static content, and there's also mod_jk for load balancing. The second one has a tomcat 7 install with several J2EE REST webservices but no apache - requests are expected to be passed directly from .100 apache to .102 tomcat. It is my intention to prepare a tomcat clustered environment. My problem: Requests reach to 192.168.0.100 with no trouble whatsoever, but then take about... 100 seconds for data to actually arrive to .102 - by that time apache has already timeouted, but tomcat receives and processes the request pretty normally. This happens both when using mod_jk, mod_proxy, or mod_ajp_proxy. No idea why, since there are no firewalls in either of the machines, both are pingable - more than that, there are NFS shares active working like a charm - and a mod_proxy experience shown that requests originating directly from .100 are processed normally. Also, to add insult to injury, a similar environment is set up at our office network. Everything works perfectly. -_- The only difference? We have no ip translation at the office and do everything by internal addresses - dunno if that's relevant in any way. • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

  Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. • Failure connecting to Dell MD3200i from XenServer 6.2 pool

  This question also asked at Citrix Forums http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=332289 I have a MD3200i that is currently working fine with my Xen5.6 pool, but I cannot get a connection to the new 6.2 pool to work. I previously had a problem with a 6.0 upgrade (which is why the old pool is still on 5.6), but rolled back rather than fix it as it wasn't urgent at the time. This install is on new machines - I tried 6.1 first (which had the same problems) then 6.2 was released the second day after installation so I switched to that. I've not installed anything from the Dell resource DVD at this point - I can't find anything saying I should, and everything I have read suggests it shouldn't be necessary. I can ping all 8 ip addresses from both servers in the pool, iscsiadm -m discovery works fine, I can login to the nodes and iscsiadm reports the sessions active correctly. I've added the required sections to multipath.conf, but multipath -ll reports DM multipath kernel driver not loaded immediately after boot. • Enterprise Manager will not start on WebLogic after ADF install

  I just built a WebLogic 10.3.6 cluster with EM and JRF checked in the domain extensions. Next I installed ADR 11.1.1.7 by first installing ADR 11.1.1.6, then patching the environment and running upgradeADF in wlst. All seems well except I cannot start EM. The application transitions to STATE_ADMIN, but then fails with the exception below.
