  • Getting value from key pair value into appended property using jQuery

    How do I get the value from a key pair value into the rel property of an anchor tag? When I split the code to put the value in the correct place it doesn't work, the end of the a tag would appear on screen instead value wouldn't be applied. When I look at the resulting code in console in Firebug the rel and href swapped order so the rel is first. The 'key' should be and is in the correct location but the 'value' needs to be applied to the rel attribute.   • How can a single disk in a hardware SATA RAID-10 array bring the entire array to a screeching halt?

    Prelude: I'm a code-monkey that's increasingly taken on SysAdmin duties for my small company. My code is our product, and increasingly we provide the same app as SaaS. About 18 months ago I moved our servers from a premium hosting centric vendor to a barebones rack pusher in a tier IV data center. (Literally across the street.) This ment doing much more ourselves--things like networking, storage and monitoring. As part the big move, to replace our leased direct attached storage from the hosting company, I built a 9TB two-node NAS based on SuperMicro chassises, 3ware RAID cards, Ubuntu 10.04, two dozen SATA disks, DRBD and . It's all lovingly documented in three blog posts: Building up & testing a new 9TB SATA RAID10 NFSv4 NAS: Part I, Part II and Part III. We also setup a Cacit monitoring system. Recently we've been adding more and more data points, like SMART values. I could not have done all this without the awesome boffins at ServerFault. It's been a fun and educational experience. My boss is happy (we saved bucket loads of $$$), our customers are happy (storage costs are down), I'm happy (fun, fun, fun). Until yesterday. Outage & Recovery: Some time after lunch we started getting reports of sluggish performance from our application, an on-demand streaming media CMS. About the same time our Cacti monitoring system sent a blizzard of emails. One of the more telling alerts was a graph of iostat await. Performance became so degraded that Pingdom began sending "server down" notifications. The overall load was moderate, there was not traffic spike. After logging onto the application servers, NFS clients of the NAS, I confirmed that just about everything was experiencing highly intermittent and insanely long IO wait times. And once I hopped onto the primary NAS node itself, the same delays were evident when trying to navigate the problem array's file system. Time to fail over, that went well. Within 20 minuts everything was confirmed to be back up and running perfectly. Post-Mortem: After any and all system failures I perform a post-mortem to determine the cause of the failure. First thing I did was ssh back into the box and start reviewing logs. It was offline, completely. Time for a trip to the data center. Hardware reset, backup an and running. Here we see that, yes, disk 7 is slipping away just like syslog says it is. But we also see that disk 8's SMART Read Erros are fluctuating. There are no messages about disk 8 in syslog. More interesting is that the fluctuating values for disk 8 directly correlate to the high IO wait times! My interpretation is that: Disk 8 is experiencing an odd hardware fault that results in intermittent long operation times. Somehow this fault condition on the disk is locking up the entire array Maybe there is a more accurate or correct description, but the net result has been that the one disk is impacting the performance of the whole array. The Question(s) How can a single disk in a hardware SATA RAID-10 array bring the entire array to a screeching halt? Am I being naïve to think that the RAID card should have dealt with this? How can I prevent a single misbehaving disk from impacting the entire array? Am I missing something?

(i hope key is the right terminology they look just like folders but when right clicked on they have the option "copy key name")

  • Trouble with Code First DatabaseGenerated Composite Primary Key

    This is a tad complicated, and please, I know all the arguments against natural PK's, so we don't need to have that discussion. using VS2012/MVC4/C#/CodeFirst So, the PK is based on the date and a corresponding digit together. So, a few rows created today would be like this: 20131019 1 20131019 2 And one created tomorrow: 20131020 1 This has to be automatically generated using C# or as a trigger or whatever. The user wouldn't input this. I did come up with a solution, but I'm having problems with it, and I'm a little stuck, hence the question. So, I have a model: public class MainOne { //[Key] //public int ID { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=1)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketDate { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=2)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketNumber { get; set; } [StringLength(3, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be three letters")] public string CorpCode { get; set; } [StringLength(4, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be four letters")] public string DocketStatus { get; set; } } After I finish the model, I create a new controller and views using VS2012 scaffolding. The ObjectContext might be in an inconsistent state. Inner exception message: The object state cannot be changed. This exception may result from one or more of the primary key properties being set to null. Non-Added objects cannot have null primary key values. See inner exception for details. Now, what's interesting to me, is that after I stop debugging and I start again, everything is perfect. The trigger fired perfectly, so the composite PK is unique and perfect, and the data in other columns is intact. My guess is that EF is confused by the fact that there is seemingly no value for the PK until AFTER an insert command is given. Also, appearing to back this theory, is that when I try to edit on of the rows, in debug, I get the following error: The number of primary key values passed must match number of primary key values defined on the entity. Same error occurs if I try to pull the 'Details' or 'Delete' function. Any solution or ideas on how to pull this off? I'm pretty open to anything, even creating a hidden int PK. But it would seem redundant.   • JPanel not listening to key event when there is a child component with JButton on it

    I'm working on a map editor for my college project. And I had a problem that the map panel is not listening key event while it should. This happens when I add a ToolBarPane (which extends JPanel) with JComponent such as JButton, JComboBox that implements ActionListener on it AND the map panel (which extends the JPanel) together on to the Frame (I used BorderLayout). I have System.out.println statement to test if the key press is received, and it's not printing, if I remove the ToolBar, the key listener works again, so is the mouseListenner is disabled just like the keyListener, which means I can't handle press events etc, but the mouseListener works fine and I can still handle mouse move event. Here is a screen shot how it works without the ToolBarPane http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/3232/sampleku.png note that you can use the mouse to put images on the map, you can also select images using the mouse just like a laser tool, and by pressing number key you can switch between different images, this works fine until I add the ToolBarPane which shows like this: img291.imageshack.us/img291/8020/failve.png (please add http before that, i can only post one hyperlink) (I can't post images here cuz im a new user) With the ToolBarPane on I was no longer able to handle the key event. I guess it might by that the focus as been transfered to that panel somehow, but not sure at all. Does and body know this and can help me out? Thanks very much

    I want to perform a sort_by_key where I have a single key-sequence and multiple value sequences. One usually performs this with sort_by_key( key, key + N, make_zip_iterator( make_tuple(x1 , x2 , ...) ) ) However I want to perform a sort with 10 sequences each of length N. Thrust does not support tuples of size = 10. So is there a way around this ? Of course one can keep a separate copy of the key vector and perform sorts on bunches of 10 sequences. But I would like to do everything in a single call.

    I am trying to make a c# program that will compare two files for me, and tell me the differences of specific parts. I have been able to get the parts I need into variables while looping through, but I now want to add these to a key with 3 values per file, so a key with 6 values overall which I will then compare to eachother later on. But I can only add 3 values at a time using the loop I have, so I need to be able to add the last 3 values to the key without overwriting the first 3. example of data from file: [\Advanced\Rules\Correlation Rules\Suspect_portscan\]; CheckDescription =S Detect Port scans; Enabled =B 0; Priority =L 3; I have managed to get what I need into variables so I have: string SigName would be "Suspect_portscan" Int Enabled, Priority, Blocking as 0 3 and null respectivly. I then want to make a dictionary type thing, with a key which would be the SigName and the first 3 values as enabled, priority, blocking. Then when looping through the second file, I want to add the 2nd files settings for the enabled, priority, blocking for the same SigName (so to the key) in the last 3 value slots. I will then compare this against itself, like 'if signame(0) != signame(3)' so if file 1 enabled is not the same as file two enabled make a note and tell me. But the problem I have is not being able to get the data into a dictionary or lookup, I'm completely stumped. It seems like I should use a dictionary with a list for the values but I cant get it working on the second loop through. Thanks.

    In the similar question "Conversion of byte[] into a String and then back to a byte[]" is said to not to do the byte[] to String and back conversion, what looks like apply to most cases, mainly when you don't know the encoding used. But, in my case I'm trying to save to a DB the javax.crypto.SecretKey data, and recoverd it after. The interface provide a method getEncoded() which returns the key data encoded as byte[], and with another class I can use this byte[] to recover the key. So, the question is, how do I write the key bytes as String, and later get back the byte[] to regenerate the key?

  • Two-key encryption/decryption?

    I'm looking to store some fairly sensitive data using PHP and MySQL and will be using some form of reversible encryption to do so since I need to get the data back out in plain text for it to be of any use. I'll be deriving the encryption key from the users' username/password combination but I'm stumped for what to do in the (inevitable) event of a password being forgotten. I realise that the purpose of encryption is that it can only be undone using the correct key but this must have been addressed before.. I'm trying to get my head around whether or not public key cryptography would apply to the problem but all I can think of is that the private key will still need to be correct to decrypt the data.. Any ideas?

Secondly,when I remove the single quotas around 'arr[]',PHP can not receive anything by using $_POST['arr'];,I don't know why? Doing this task in a traditional way with no curly braces: $.post('test12.php', {arr: arr}, function(data){ alert(data); }); It works fine.     I was thinking of making a function that would accept the size of array as a parameter and create a n dimensional array. My room-mate took the liberty of making it complex. He said lets write a function that takes n parameters and returns an n-dimensional array using those parameters as the dimensions. Now i realize an one-day and d array is easy to implement with pointers. For 2d array the snippet would be something like (standard way) : int** x; int* temp; x = (int**)malloc(m * sizeof(int*)); temp = (int*)malloc(m*n * sizeof(int)); for (int i = 0; i < m; i++) { x[i] = temp + (i * n); } where the array is of size m*n; But the problem lies how do we find the nested loop parameters for a n-dimensional array? Is there any way to optimize the code?
