  • Prevent Rails link_to_remote multiple submits w Javascript

    In a Rails project I need to keep a link_to_remote from getting double-clicked. It looks like :before and :after are my only choices - they get prepended/appended to the onclick Ajax call, respectively. But if I try something like: :before => "self.stopObserving()" t,he Ajax is never run. If I try it for :after the Ajax is run but the link never stops observing. The solutions I've seen rely on creating a variable and blocking the whole form, but there are multiple link_to_remote rows on this page and it is valid to click more than one of them at a time - just not the same one twice. One variable per row declared outside of link_to_remote seems very kludgey... Instead of using Prototype I originally tried plain Javascript first for this proof of concept - but it fails too: <a href="#" onclick="self.onclick = function(){alert('foo');};"click</a just puts up an alert when clicked - the lambda here does nothing? This next one is more like the desired goal and should only alert the first time. But instead it alerts every time: <a href="#" onclick="alert('bar'); self.onclick = function(){return false;};"click</a All ideas appreciated!

    I copied the EyeTunes framework into my project and it says that is not declared. In the original project I go to definition and it takes me to AEDataModel.h where it is defined. However in my project it doesn't do that and it's not found. How do I add AEDataModel to my project? Thanks

  • Active Directory public key use

    I have a client who has a requirement to validate users logging into my web application against his active directory using LDAP. In trying to connect using the DirectoryEntry and DirectorySearcher .NET classes, I can connect to his AD Server but not access it. The client's AD server has an SSL Certificate for which he has given me a public key file but I don't know how to use this public key file in my C# code. When I issue the connect command through code, I see, via Wireshark, my application sending the connection request. I then see the server responding with "Server Hello, Certificate, Certificate Request, Server Hello Done". Then my application never responds after that. In using another application, written by somebody else for which I do not have code, I see the same request from the server and then see the application respond with "Certificate, Client Key Exchange" and then the application connects and runs. With that said, my question then becomes, how can I get my C# application to load and send the key file I got from the client?

  • Can't connect to Sunspot server in Ubuntu server

    I followed the steps in https://github.com/outoftime/sunspot/wiki/Adding-Sunspot-search-to-Rails-in-5-minutes-or-less to install & set up Sunspot search in Rails in a Mac OS and it is ok. In a Ubuntu server, there's connection refused error. When I run rake sunspot:solr:start and the proccess starts. The file sunspot-solr-development.pid is created in /tmp/pids But when I try to reindex rake sunspot:reindex ... rake aborted! Connection refused - connect(2) I tried to run the commands with sudo and gave permission 777 to the project files, but there's still error. Rails 3.0.8 Don't know where else to search for a solution...

  • Geocoding autocomplete bias not working

    I'm using the following code to get the autocomplete functionality for an address input box using Google Maps API v3: function initializeAutocomplete() { var defaultBounds = new google.maps.LatLngBounds( new google.maps.LatLng(1.484016,103.575212), new google.maps.LatLng(1.233592,104.033618)); var input = document.getElementById('destStreet'); var myOptions = {bounds: defaultBounds, types: ['geocode']}; autocomplete = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(input, myOptions); } The problem is that biasing doesn't seem to work as the first results are usually not relevant to the defined bounds (a country). I've seen a few apps working fine, so I'm wondering where the problem is. I came across the JQuery autocomplete plugin (http://code.google.com/p/geo-autocomplete/) which would seem like a good alternative since it has a region filter, but I'm unable to "install it" or use it because of my very limited knowledge (I learn by example). Could you please help me getting more relevant results with the above code or guide me through the implementation of the JQuery alternative? Of course I'm very open to other suggestions as well.

  • C# implicit conversions

    Hello, I'm currently working on an application where I need to load data from an SQL database and then assign the retrieved values into the properties of an object. I'm doing this by using reflection since the property names and column names are the same. However, many of the properties are using a custom struct type that is basically a currency wrapper for the decimal type. I have defined an implicit conversion in my struct: public static implicit operator Currency(decimal d) { return new Currency(d); } This works fine when I use it in code. However, when I have this: foreach (PropertyInfo p in props) { p.SetValue(this, table.Rows[0][p.Name], null); } It throws an ArgumentException stating that it cannot convert from System.Decimal to Currency. I'm confused since it works fine in any other circumstance.

  • ScriptManager emits ScriptReferences after ClientScriptIncludes. Why?

    I have an application that uses a lot of javascript in a lot of different .js files. Each page can have any number and combination of different controls and each control can use a different set of js files. Instead of including all possible js files as <script src="xxx.js"> in the head of my master page, I thought I would reduce the amount of included files by getting each control to call ScriptManager.Scripts.Add(new ScriptReference("xxx.js")) - thus only the scripts that are actually needed by the page will be included. Well that bit works fine. But...the controls also use ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock fairly extensively too. (There are scenarios where the controls are inside update panels). I was disappointed to see that the ScriptManager emits the client script includes before the ScriptReferences. For example - see the test file and output at the end (this results in a JS error because $ is not defined). Am I being dumb or is this to be expected? I would have thought that a sensible thing for the ScriptManger to do would be to emit the ScriptReferences first and then the other stuff. Short of rolling my own ScriptManager like object to manage static JS file references, does anyone have any suggestions as to get the behaviour that I want from ScriptManager?? Thanks in advance.     Is the BigDecimal class broken?   • Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css?

    I am hiding an element using inline css, like so: <span class="hidden-nojs" style="display:none">Some text</span> Next I use jQuery to show the element, like so: $(".hidden-nojs").show(); This works great. As soon as I remove the inline css and put display:none on the external css stylesheet for the hidden-nojs class, it stops working. This is what I wrote in the external stylesheet: .hidden-nojs { display: none; } I'm assuming that the external stylesheet loads after the jQuery has already run? This is somewhat annoying as I would like to hide multiple elements with css and would like to avoid using inline css. Why will show() only work for fields that are hidden using inline css? How can I fix this problem?

  • Scapy install issues. Nothing seems to actually be installed?

    I have an apple computer running Leopard with python 2.6. I downloaded the latest version of scapy and ran "python setup.py install". All went according to plan. Now, when I try to run it in interactive mode by just typing "scapy", it throws a bunch of errors. What gives! Just in case, here is the FULL error message..   • iPhone - didPopItem ? Is this supposed to work?

  • How do I combine MVCContrib's "Rescue" with Elmah?

    I got the Rescue attribute working. It properly serves up the DefaultError view when there is an unhandled exception. However, these exceptions will not get logged or emailed. This SO question is answered by Atif Aziz and it looks pretty solid, but it applies to the built-in HandleErrorAttribute, which Rescue replaces, right? How do I get that to work with Rescue? I want to make sure that if an unhandled exception arises, that the user gets served up the view specified with the Rescue attribute, but the exception is still properly logged, and viewable with elmah.axd.

  • Issues dismissing keyboard conditionally with on iPhone

    I have an app that has a username and password field. I want to validate the input before the the user is allowed to stop editing the field. To do that, I'm using the textFieldShouldEndEditing delegate method. If the input doesn't validate I display a UIAlertView. This approach works as advertised - the user cannot leave the field if the input doesn't validate. To have the done button on the keyboard dismiss the keyboard, I call resignFirstResponder on the textfield. The issue I have is the alert is being called twice. How do I keep the alert from showing twice?

    If i have a web application and i receive credit card data transmitted via a POST request by a web browser over HTTPS and instantly open a socket (SSL) to a remote PCI compilant card processor to forward the data and wait for a response, am i allowed to do that? or is this receiving the data with my application and forwarding it already subject of "processing credit card data"? if i create an iframe that is displayed in a client browser to enter cc data and this iframe posts the data via HTTPS to remote card processor (directly!) is this already a case of processing credit card data? even if my application code 'doesnt touch' the entered data with any event handlers? i'm interested in the definition "credit card data processing". when does it start to be a cc data processing application? can somebody maybe point me to that section in PCI-DSS standard that clearly defines when you start to 'be a processing application'?   • Javascript string replace with calculations

    Is there a way to resolve mathematical expressions in strings in javascript? For example, suppose I want to produce the string "Tom has 2 apples, Lucy has 3 apples. Together they have 5 apples" but I want to be able to substitute in the variables. I can do this with a string replacement: string = "Tom has X apples, Lucy has Y apples. Together they have Z apples"; string2 = string.replace(/X/, '2').replace(/Y/, '3').replace(/Z/, '5'); However, it would be better if, instead of having a variable Z, I could use X+Y. Now, I could also do a string replace for X+Y and replace it with the correct value, but that would become messy when trying to deal with all the possible in-string calculations I might want to do. I suppose I'm looking for a way to achieve this: string = "Something [X], something [Y]. Something [(X+Y^2)/5X]"; And for the [_] parts to be understood as expressions to be resolved before substituting back into the string. Thanks for your help.

  • UITextfield is becoming focused after UIButton pressed

    I have a UITextfield for entering text. A button triggers a functionality. After completion of the IBAction the UITextfield is getting focused again. After the IBAction I want to keyboard to disappear. What happends now is that due to the IBAction of the button, the keyboards disappears (I'm showing a UIAlert) and after the IBAction the keyboards pop's up again together with the focus in the UITextfield. Is it possible to prevent the UITextfield to be focused after the IBAction?

  • Identifying CDs

    I'd like to be able to determine what music album CD is in a CD drive. For example, if someone claims that the CD in their drive is Eminem - The Eminem Show, I would like to be able to verify that the CD is indeed The Eminem Show. Any ideas? I've applied for a Gracenote developer license, but they won't get back to me for five days. Also, how does this work? Is there some GUID or other unique identifier that music discs are encoded with? Lastly, might this be possible with data CDs, like, say, the Diablo II install Disc 1? If so, any directions you can point me in, for accomplishing this?

  • Outlook - check email address type

    I am trying to make a macro in Outlook that will scan the To: list for a certain text string, and spit out a message if all but one (or two, etc) addresses have it. Is there a simple way to do this? Essentially, I am trying to write something that'll avoid being able to send a restricted message to a bunch of people with the string 'xyz' in the address, if one or more do not have it. AutoComplete makes this difficult, without checking through one-by-one.
