SEO optimization for AJAX site and dynamic HTML canvas

I have a site that uses AJAX to query the Last.fm database and then dynamically draws a graph of the results on an HTML canvas. In the search function, I have a command that sets window.location.hash to the search parameters. I also have a function that checks if a hash was provided in the url and if so, generates the page. For example, http://www.thenlistento.com/#!/led+zeppelin will automatically navigate to a search page for Led Zeppelin. My question is, how do optimize this set up for SEO? Can it be done at all? I've taken a look at Google Webmaster Docs and read over the hashbang protocol, but I'm not totally sure how to apply it to my situation..or even if I can at all. Error mounting VirtualBox shared folders in an Ubuntu guest

I have Ubuntu 10 as the guest OS on a Windows 7 machine. I have been trying to setup shares through VirtualBox, but nothing is working. First, I create the share in VirtualBox and point it to a Windows folder. Then I try to mount the drive in Linux, but I keep getting /sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: Protocol error I have read so many solutions to this, but none seem to work. I have tried: Using the mount.vboxsf syntax Reinstalling VBox additions Rebooting Enabling and trying as root account I made a share called "Test" in VBox Shared folders. Then I made a directory in ubuntu named "test2". Then I tried to execute this command: sudo mount -t vboxsf Test /mnt/test2 Any other ideas?

Project Coin: JSR 334 has a Proposed Final Draft

Reaching nearly the last phase of the JCP process, JSR 334 now has a proposed final draft. There have been only a few refinements to the specification since public review: Incorporated language changes into JLS proper. Forbid combining diamond and explicit type arguments to a generic constructor. Removed unusual protocol around Throwable.addSuppressed(null) and added a new constructor to Throwable to allow suppression to be disabled. Added disclaimers that OutOfMemoryError, NullPointerException, and ArithmeticException objects created by the JVM may have suppression disabled. Added thread safely requirements to Throwable.addSuppressed and Throwable.getSuppressed. Next up is the final approval ballot; almost there!

REST API rule about tunneling

Just read this in the REST API Rulebook: GET and POST must not be used to tunnel other request methods. Tunneling refers to any abuse of HTTP that masks or misrepresents a message’s intent and undermines the protocol’s transparency. A REST API must not compromise its design by misusing HTTP’s request methods in an effort to accommodate clients with limited HTTP vocabulary. Always make proper use of the HTTP methods as specified by the rules in this section. [highlights by me] But then a lot of frameworks use tunneling to expose REST interfaces via HTML forms, since <form> knows only about GET and POST. My most recent example is a MethodRewriteMiddleware for flask (submitted by the author of the framework): http://flask.pocoo.org/snippets/38/. Any ways to comply to the "Rule" without hacks or add-ons in web frameworks?

Problems with NVIDIA drivers: White screen with full(or almost full)screen apps

My NVIDIA graphic card is a 7050/610i. My problem is that after upgrading to the last NVIDIA drivers when I use fullscreen apps (or almost fullscreen) the windows goes white. How should I incorporate a hotfix back into a feature branch using gitflow?

I've started using gitflow for a project, and I have an outstanding feature branch as well as a newly created hotfix. Per the gitflow workflow, the hotfix gets applied to both the master and develop branches, but nothing is said or done about extant feature branches. Nevertheless, I'd like to incorporate the hotfix changes back into my feature branch, which as near as I can tell leaves three options: Don't incorporate the changes. If the changes were needed for the feature branch, it should've been part of the feature branch. Merge develop back into the feature branch. This seems to follow the gitflow workflow the best, but would cause out-of-order commits. Rebase the feature branch onto develop. This would preserve commit order but rebasing seems to be completely absent from the general gitflow workflow. What's the best practice here?

Ubutu 14.04 triple screen, third screen black and X cursor

I am having some issues getting my third screen working properly. I had triple screens working fine on 12.04, using 2 nvidia cards. Did a fresh install of 14.04 and having no end of problems getting it working. It either will just be disabled, or the screen is black with the cursor as an X. I can only enable it from the nvidia server settings tool. The Ubuntu native display settings won't even show the 3rd screen. I tried copying the xorg.conf from my old install, which upon restarting X worked fine on the login screen, but then it just sat there after I logged in and didn’t do anything (mouse was still working). I am using gnome-session-fallback instead of unity if that makes any difference. Still having these issues if I try unity though. How do I get my 3rd screen working and displaying a desktop? Oracle VM RAC template - what it took

In my previous posting I introduced the latest Oracle Real Application Cluster / Oracle VM template. I mentioned how easy it is to deploy a complete Oracle RAC cluster with Oracle VM. In fact, you don't need any prior knowledge at all to get a complete production-ready setup going. Here is an example... I built a 4 node RAC cluster, completely configured in just over 40 minutes - starting from import template into Oracle VM, create VMs to fully up and running Oracle RAC. And what was needed? 1 textfile with some hostnames and ip addresses and deploycluster.py. The setup is a 4 node cluster where each VM has 8GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs. The shared ASM storage in this case is 100GB, 5 x 20GB volumes. The VM names are racovm.0-racovm.3. The deploycluster script starts the VMs, verifies the configuration and sends the database cluster configuration info through Oracle VM Manager to the 4 node VMs. Once the VMs are up and running, the first VM starts the actual Oracle RAC setup inside and talks to the 3 other VMs. I did not log into any VM until after everything was completed. Server Side Developer Prerequisites

I am new to server side development and am currently learning node.js. What sort of networking information should I be familiar with to allow for a smooth learning curve with server side development. Could anyone provide resources pertaining to the information required to get into server programming? To give you a better idea of my standpoint: I do not know how a server interacts with a database [Q: How does a NoSQL database, or database in general, communicate with a server?] I am unsure of how a web stack works [Q: I have heard of LAMP but do not know how Apache, MySQL, and PHP interact. Hopefully this applies to other stacks as well. How do the components of a stack work together? Also, is a MEAN stack an alternative, or is it completely irrelevant to this] I have trivial knowledge of internet protocol [however extremely inefficient][Q: What resources are beneficial when learning about networking, and how much/what knowledge should I acquire to program on the server side] I am unsure of what I am unsure of concerning networking information necessary to start development Information on how the client-server model works would be greatly appreciated

modifying openssl library code

I am ordered to check the availability to customize an encryption algorithm the IPsec protocol use in Ubuntu, if anyone have any suggestion about this point?. I've read that the encryption operation occur in libcrypto in openssl. when I tried to compile and install OpenSSL from source ..I had everything ok with the installation, but when to check the version installed on the system, with "dpkg -s openssl", it didn't seem that it's the version i had already installed, maybe it had been installed successfully, but the question is: would it be the version the system use for encryption operations? would it overwrite the old version? and would my changes in code have effects ? any help please? thank you in advance.

How to reset settings when Unity won't finish booting?

I have a new 12.04 installation and I messed things up after trying to move /home to an NTFS partition, which I later learned was a bad idea. I removed references to the NTFS partition on fstab and created new users on the ext4 / partition. Now I can't get Unity to start up properly for any user. I get the GUI with only three Launch icons (none of which are clickable) and no bar at the top. The keyboard seems to the nonfunctional after I enter my credentials. The interesting thing is that I can boot when I go through recovery mode and select resume. I wonder whether I am creating the new users properly. What is the correct protocol for doing so in order to ensure that they can run Unity?

The files can be accessed from every artifact, such as .bpel, .mplan, .task, .xsl, .wsdl etc., of the composite. 'oramds' protocol is used to access these files. You need to setup your adf-config.xml file in your dev environment or Jdeveloper to access these files from MDS. Here is the sample adf-config.xml. xmlns:sec="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/security/config" name="jdbc-url"/ name="metadata-path"/ credentialStoreLocation="../../src/META-INF/jps-config.xml"/ This adf-config.xml is located in directory named .adf/META-INF, which is in the application home of your project. Application home is the directory where .jws file of you application exists. Other than setting this file, you need not make any other changes in your project or composite to access MDS. After setting this up, you can create a new SOA-MDS connection in your Jdev. This enables you to have a resource pallet in which you can browse and choose the required file from MDS.
