• Android ProgressDialog inside another dialog

  I'm working on a game using AndEngine, and I need to show the users the list of his Facebook friends. I've created my custom Adatper and after the loading finishes everything works great. I have a problem with the loading it self. The ListView is inside a custom dialog, since I don't really know how to create one using AndEngine, So inside this dialog, I'm running an AsyncTask to fetch the friends' info, in that AsyncTask I'm have a ProgressDialog. The problem is, the ProgressDialog shows up behind the dialog that contains the to-be list (which while loading, is just the title). I can see the ProgressDialog "peeking" behind that dialog.. Any Ideas? Let's say at first, the entry is (30, 1, 1, 0) and I switch player, so update the entry to (30, 2, 1, 0). and I switch the player back again, so the entry should be updated to (30, 1, 1, 0), but this is not affected to the database!! In the database, the entry still remains as (30, 2, 1, 0)!!!! But if after (30, 2, 1, 0), I update the score to (30, 2, 1, 1) and then switch the player back (30, 1, 1, 1) then this is ok. What's that? How should I deal with it? Thanks for a lot helping, really urgent!!

• Java loop to collect the second and third elements every three in an array

  I have a file with data in the form timestamp, coordinate, coordinate, seperated by spaces, as here; 14:25:01.215 370.0 333.0 I need to loop through and add the coordinates only to an array. The data from the file is read in and put into as String[] called info, from split(" "). I have two problems, I think the end of the file has a extra " " which I need to lose appropriately and I also want confirmation/suggestions of my loop, at the moment I am getting sporadic out of bounds exceptions. My loop is as follows; String[] info; info = dataHolder.split(" "); ArrayList<String> coOrds1 = new ArrayList<String>(); for (int counter = 0; counter < info.length; counter = counter+3) { coOrds1.add(info[counter+1]); coOrds1.add(info[counter+2]); } Help and suggestions appreciated. The text file is here but the class receives in a UDP packet from another class so I am unsure if this potentially adds " " at the end or not.

  I have to send out letters to certain clients and I have a standard letter that I need to use. I want to replace some of the text inside the body of the message with variables. Here is my maturity_letter models.py class MaturityLetter(models.Model): default = models.BooleanField(default=False, blank=True) body = models.TextField(blank=True) footer = models.TextField(blank=True) Now the body has a value of this: Dear [primary-firstname], AN IMPORTANT REMINDER… You have a [product] that is maturing on [maturity_date] with [financial institution]. etc Now I would like to replace everything in brackets with my template variables.   I read from < Essential ASP.NET with Examples in C# the following statement: Another useful property to know about is the static Current property of the HttpContext class. This property always points to the current instance of the HttpContext class for the request being serviced. This can be convenient if you are writing helper classes that will be used from pages or other pipeline classes and may need to access the context for whatever reason. By using the static Current property to retrieve the context, you can avoid passing a reference to it to helper classes. For example, the class shown in Listing 4-1 uses the Current property of the context to access the QueryString and print something to the current response buffer. Note that for this static property to be correctly initialized, the caller must be executing on the original request thread, so if you have spawned additional threads to perform work during a request, you must take care to provide access to the context class yourself. I am wondering about the root cause of the bold part, and one thing leads to another, here is my thoughts: We know that a process can have multiple threads. Each of these threads have their own stacks, respectively. These threads also have access to a shared memory area, the heap. The stack then, as I understand it, is kind of where all the context for that thread is stored. For a thread to access something in the heap it must use a pointer, and the pointer is stored on its stack. So when we make some cross-thread calls, we must make sure that all the necessary context info is passed from the caller thread's stack to the callee thread's stack.   I'm writing some code which processes a queue of items. The way it works is this: Get the next item flagged as needing to be processed from the mysql database row. Request some info from a google API using Curl, wait until the info is returned. Do the remainder of the processing based on the info returned. Flag the item as processed in the db, move onto the next item. The problem is that on step # 2. Google sometimes takes 10-15 seconds to return the requested info, during this time my script has to remain halted and wait. I'm wondering if I could change the code to do the following instead: Get the next 5 items to be processed as usual. Request info for items 1-5 from google, one after the other. When the info for item 1 is returned, a 'callback' should be done which calls up a function or otherwise calls some code which then does the remainder of the processing on items 1-5. And then the script starts over until all pending items in db are marked processed. How can something like this be achieved?

  Running Maven, Eclipse, and Weblogic, when I try to Run As Server onto my local server, I get this error: "Cannot find the declaration of element 'beans'. at mvc-dispatcher-servlet.xml" Then, when I go back into the xml, select all, copy, delete, and paste, error goes away and I'm able to run the web app just fine on the server. • Graph not following orientation

  so I am trying to draw some grid lines that in landscape go all the way down to the bottom, however when I switch to landscape the the graph doesn't follow and the grid lines go smaller. • Installing Yaws server on Ubuntu 12.04 (Using a cloud service)

  I'm trying to get a Yaws web server working on a cloud service (Amazon AWS). I've compilled and installed a local copy on the server. My problem is that I can't get Yaws to run while running on either port 8000 or port 80. I've tried using paping to check if port 80 or 8000 is open(http://code.google.com/p/paping/) and I get a "Host can not be resolved" error, so obviously something isn't working. Now if I need to also update each row of another table which is a child of Customer called Orders what changes do I need to make to the class MyRepository. Orders table will have multiple records for a Customer record and multiple fields too, say for example Field1, Field2, Field3. So my questions are: 1.) If I only need to update Field1 of the Orders table for some rows based on a condition and Field2 for some other rows based on a different condition then what changes I need to do? 2.) As far as I can tell, I've done everything correctly but when I try testing the interceptor nothing happens. • C socket programming: calling recv() changes my socket file descriptor?

  Hey all, I have this strange problem with recv(). I'm programming client/server where client send() a message (a structure to be exact) and server recv() it. That is fine. But when i call recv(), i suddently becomes 0. Why is that? It doesn't make sense to me why recv() would take an socket file descriptor number and modify to another number. Is that normal? Am I missing something?   I have made that dreadful error of upgrading from MVC4 to MVC5 pre-release by updating the razor, and mvc webpage in my references I have System.Web.Mvc, System.Web.Webpages, System.Web.Webpages.Razor and System.Web.Razor as version v4.0.30319, when I run my application I get [A]System.Web.WebPages.Razor.Configuration.HostSection cannot be cast to [B]System.Web.WebPages.Razor.Configuration.HostSection.
