• Multiple PHP versions running as cgi

  I'm trying to install a second version of PHP, to run alongside the current version of php. I've compiled the latest php source from github (5.5-DEV), and I'm trying to run it as CGI. Here is my virtual host config: <VirtualHost *:8055> DocumentRoot /Library/WebServer/Documents/ ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/local/php55/cgi Action php55-cgi /cgi-bin/php-cgi AddHandler php55-cgi .php <Directory /Library/WebServer/Documents/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes ExecCGI AllowOverride All Order Allow,Deny Allow from all </Directory> DirectoryIndex index.html index.php </VirtualHost> But when I go to http://127.0.0.1:8055/info.php, I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/php-cgi/info.php on this server Edit I'm now switching between LoadModule php5_module /usr/local/php54/libphp5.so and LoadModule php5_module /usr/local/php55/libphp5.so It works for now, but is not ideal. I would like to have the different versions of php on different virtual hosts

• Can't communicate with Primary DNS Server

  A computer, with Windows 7, can't access any website by domain suddenly. Whether this computer use a wired link or connect to the WLAN, The fault persists IP and DNS obtained automatically, and seems normal (ipconfig /all return the correct info) I can visit websites by using HTTP proxy The DNS server is available, other computer in my room works properly. I can ping myself, the gateway and any other IP, but domains I can use nslookup and obtain the correct IP info There are some error information in the event log about dns client events explaining the client can not verify the DNS server available Windows network diagnosis explain that Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (Primary DNS Server) I guess the dns client should be blame. I tried to do the following things but the fault persist. Reinstall the driver of network adapter Reset TCP/IP (netsh int ip reset) Reset Winsock (netsh winsock reset) Reset LSP I don't want to reinstall the whole os, what should I do?

• Bulk "open with" change on OS X 10.6

  I use Microsoft remote desktop to connect from my mac to the windows machine I work on. I have a directory with about 50 different rdp files. (The config files for each machine). They go changed to open with the remote desktop in Windows XP on Parallels. Is there a command I can use to change all those back to opening with the remote desktop on my Mac? I can use the right mouse click "Always open with" command, or the equivalent on the "Get Info" menu, but I would like to find a way to make that change in bulk. "Change All..." button on the "Get Info" menu does not have any effect.

• help with Outlook Exchange server and curl

  I work on a mac in a building full of PCs, and the IT department here doesn't have IMAP access turned on on the exchange servers. So I miss a lot of meetings because I don't get reminders because I access my mail via Outlook Web access. I had written a script to scrape my Outlook Web Access calendar and turn it into iCal format, so I could get my reminders via thunderbird or iCal.app. It basically downloaded the calendar page via curl, parsed the HTML and reformatted all the appointments as ical. it wasn't elegant, but it worked. Then they changed to outlook 2007, and it doesn't work any more. I have a sketchy knowledge of curl, and almost zero knowledge of how outlook works. Can anyone point me towards a reference for getting calendar info out of an exchange server without using outlook? If I can configure curl to get the HTML I will be happy, but if there's a more elegant way, such as getting the calendar info as XML I'll be delirious.

• CURL on PHP 5.2 works in CLI but not in IIS

  I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS with php 5.2.8, I'm trying to use CURL, and it works in CLI mode (if i execute php.exe) but it does not seem to be registered when running under IIS. The output of PHP info in both CLI and IIS show the same 'Loaded Configuration File', but under IIS it does not give the CURL info box. c:\program files\php\php.exe -i shows ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... curl cURL support => enabled cURL Information => libcurl/7.16.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8i zlib/1.2.3 phpinfo() ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... NOTE: This server also runs php 5.3 in c:\program files\php-5.3.0 and CURL does properly work with that installation.

  Let's say we have two files. match.txt: A file containing patterns to match: fed ghi tsr qpo data.txt: A file containing lines of text: abc fed ghi jkl mno pqr stu vwx zyx wvu tsr qpo Now, I want to issue a grep command that should return the first and third line from data.txt: abc fed ghi jkl zyx wvu tsr qpo ... because each of these two lines match one of the patterns in match.txt. I have tried: grep -F -f match.txt data.txt but that returns no results. grep info: GNU grep 2.6.3 (cygwin) OS info: Windows 2008 R2 Update: It seems, that grep is confused by the space in the search pattern lines, but with the -F flag, it should be treating each line in match.txt as an individual match pattern.

• migrate SharePoint to SBS Server

  We have a SharePoint 2003 server and we need to migrate that data to SharePoint 2011 on a SBS server. We cannot use the migration tool because one of the servers is SBS and the other is not. We exported the SharePoint data from the old system, but the import to the SBS SharePoint is failing with very little info on why. I think that there is a schema conflict, but I am not that familiar with SBS and I am not finding the error in the Windows logs. Has anyone had to migrate data from non-SBS system to an SBS system? Or can anyone help me figure out where to look for more info on what is going on?

  I have a HP 4100N printer and I am using it over network. Previously I was able to access the printer settings over internet, but now the only thing visible is Device Info and Networking. I can connect to the web server and I can set all the network related settings, but that's not what I want. There should be a supplies, config, print info, etc. page, what are not visible now. Can you tell me what setting should I set to enable this printer config page on the webserver? The printer is a HP 4100N and the network card is J4169A (Jetdirect 610n).

  In postfix, I'm using relay_host to send an email to an external address using sendgrid, but I get an error about local ricipient table when sending an email from my PHP code. This is my main.cf in /postfix/ ## -- Sendgrid smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtp_sasl_password_maps = static:username:password smtp_sasl_security_options = noanonymous smtp_tls_security_level = may header_size_limit = 4096000 relayhost = [smtp.sendgrid.net]:587 This is the error message from the log: postfix/smtpd[53598]: [ID 197553 mail.info] NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1 Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<localhost.localdomain> One interesting thing is when I use "sendmail [email protected]" from the command line, the email is delivered successfully using SendGrid. • 502 Bad Gateway with nginx + apache + subversion + ssl (SVN COPY)

  I've asked this on stackoverflow, but it may be better suited for serverfault... I'm having a problem running Apache + Subversion with SSL behind an Nginx proxy and I'm hoping someone might have the answer. I've scoured google for hours looking for the answer to my problem and can't seem to figure it out. What I'm seeing are "502 (Bad Gateway)" errors when trying to MOVE or COPY using subversion; however, checkouts and commits work fine. • Reduce visual redundancies in Outlook 2013?

  Outlook 2013 has taken a direction of "how much space can I fill with noise and redundancies". Is it possible to reduce this noise in order to maximize use of screen real estate? For example, in the preview pane, can I shrink the header so that it doesn't include so much info. I don't need any info for the sender and I don't need the subject, as they are both included in the email list pane. Additionally, the ability to turn off the detail bar at the bottom of the preview windows would be helpful. Having Reply/ReplyAll/Forward are also redundant and can go. Is it possible to turn this noise off?

• Troubleshooting intermittantly long 'page loading' problem

  Working off IIS 7 with an asp.net mvc app. Most page accesses are lightening quick. Sometimes the browser reports 'page loading' for an exceptionally long time. We are still in the development/testing mode so it's not a network/bandwidth issue. Happens in both IE and FF. No explicit error conditions in the server logs. If i could reproduce it i could run firebug/fiddler to give more info. As it is, it's a little too infrequent to simply leave both those running hoping for the condition to fire - unless/until that's the only option to get better info. I have a hunch this is client-side jquery/ajax related but only a hunch - don't have enough background in either jQuery or MVC to really know what can go wrong. Any initial troubleshooting suggestions welcome. thx

  I've recently learned how to let ack support more filetypes (adding the following to .ackrc): --type-add latte=.latte Unfortunately, that produces an info line on every ack search I use, even ones with 0 results. $ ack --latte dump ack: --type-add: Type "latte" does not exist, creating with ".latte" ... Is there a way to make this a more permanent addition? (i.e. get rid of this info line) This looks to me like it's adding this new type on every ack call. Is it a problem with my installation of ack? I'm on Mac OS X 10.5.8 with ack 1.92 (Running under Perl 5.10.1)

  I'm running Ubuntu 12.04's packaged Jetty in which I installed solr 4.3.1 (by copying the war file to /var/lib/jetty/webapps. If using Jetty, the SLF4j logging jars need to go in the jetty lib/ext directory. • Why is ntpd not updating the time on my server?

  I have ntpd running on my server. It's all the default settings, except I commented out its ability to be a server to other machines: # restrict -4 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery # restrict -6 default kod notrap nomodify nopeer noquery restrict default ignore If I run ntpdate -q ntp.ubuntu.com, I'm told that my machine's clock is off by 7 seconds. What's going on?   I am getting an error in my application on 500 Internal Server Error. • Postfix to deliver mail to a virtual address mailbox

  Postfix version 2.6.6, Dovecot Version 2.0.9 I want to setup Postfix + Dovecot. Dovecot seems to be working. I can authenticate. However, the mailbox is empty! Nothing will get delivered! I followed many tutorials on Postfix + Dovecot but they seem to want to complicate things by using Dovecot LDA or MySQL. I just want it to be very simple and having Postfix deliver to the virtual mail boxes are fine. I don't need MySQL either. I already set up a custom password file that Dovecot uses for authentication and I can login to POP3 with SSL. I can see from the logs that Postfix is delivering to the system user accounts (the catch-all), instead of the virtual users that I set up in Dovecot. The SMTP + SSL authentication seems to work also. I can also see from the logs that Dovecot is checking the correct virtual mail folder. I just need to figure out how to get Postfix to deliver to the virtual mail boxes. I have the following which I believe are relevant.   I would want to set the out-of-office automatic response to all emails that arrive to our [email protected]. currently in the Outlook, I only have one mailbox (the user mailbox) but it has 2 shared mailboxes setup. I have tried to create a Rule that says: for all email received on account [email protected] forward to user [email protected] and make that user to set up the Out-of-office message, but it simply did not work, and I suspect that the rules only apply to the user account and not the shared account... How can I set Out-Of-Office in this shared mailbox ?

• Iphone 3GS to laptop Syncing

  I use my Iphone calender to store all my appointments and customer information etc rather than my Outlook calender on my laptop most of the time. To the best of my knowledge I have never lost any info before, but after syncing the two devices today my calender is now empty on both. I had thought that syncing would mean taking the information on both devices, amalgamating it and populating both devices with the same info? Two questions: a) Is there anyway of retrieving the lost information? (or am I sunk?) b) Is there any way of averting such disaster in the future? Whilst I suspect that "Read the manual - Idiot!" would be the correct response, any help really is greatly appreciated!

• ASP.NET Session Management - which SQL Server option?

  We're developing some custom web parts for our WSS 3 intranet, and have just run into something we'd like to use ASP.NET sessions for. This isn't currently enabled on the development server. We'd like to use SQL Server as the storage mechanism, because the production environment is a web farm with very simple load-balancing. There are 3 options you can choose from to set up the SQL Server session storage, tempdb, default separate DB, named DB. Both tempdb and default separate DB create a new DB to store certain information in; tempdb stores the actual session info in tempdb, which doesn't survive a reboot, and default separate DB stores everything in the new DB. Since you've got to create the new DB either way, my question is this: why would you ever choose to store the session info in tempdb? The only thing I can think of is if you'd like to have the ability to wipe the session by rebooting the server, but that seems quite apocalyptic!
