  • How to add a reference to my Web Service Proxy from a Custom Class

    - by coffeeaddict
I'm creating a custom class to abstract out some of the repeated SOAP header work. I want to reference a Web Service Reference I just created in my custom class so I can create an instance of it. How do I reference it? Notice I said I am trying to reference a Web Service "reference" (right click in VS and I added a "Web Service Reference" not a "Web Service"). So I'm trying to create an instance of that Proxy class that was created in MyCustomClass.cs

  • Debugging MEF running in ASP.NET

    - by Jeffrey Lott
I'm trying to do a proof of concept app for my work using ASP.NET WebForms and the Managed Extensibility Framework. I've got things up and running(ish), but I can't seem to figure out how to attach the instance of Visual Studio that has the MEF code in it to the instance of Visual Studio that is running the Web App. How can I attach my MEF code to the running process so that it hits my breakpoints?

  • How can you remove a criterion from criteria?

    - by ChuckM
Hello, For instance if I do something like: Criteria c = session.createCriteria(Book.class) .add(Expression.ge("release",reDate); .add(Expression.ge("price",price); .addOrder( Order.asc("date") ) .setFirstResult(0) .setMaxResults(10); c.list(); How can I use the same criteria instance, but remove (for example) the second criterion? I'm trying to build a dynamic query in which I'd like to let the user remove a filter, without the backend having to reconstruct the criteria from scratch. Thank you

  • Jquery events on CKeditor

    - by Sandro Antonucci
Hello in a form with a textarea with id "ckeditor_input" $("#ckeditor_input").ckeditor(); $("#ckeditor_input").html(); // can get the value ("#ckeditor_input").click/blur/keydown/keypressed( function(){ alert("OK"); } ); //doesn't work! the problem is ckeditor! If I don't start an instance of ckeditor on the textarea all events work fine! What is the right way to get events on a ckeditor instance? Thank you

  • Change TrayIcon Tooltip from ProgressMonitorDialog

    - by Raven
Hello, i am using the Eclipse RCP trayitem, which is described in Vogellas tutorials here: http://www.vogella.de/articles/RichClientPlatform/article.html#systemtray The requirement now is not only to show the name of the app in the tooltip but also a percentage while doing lengthy operations. I understand that the trayitem attribute is a private from ApplicationWorkbenchWindowAdvisor, so I added a getter and setter method. The only thing missing is a possibility to access the trayitem instance from my ProgressMonitorDialog instance. Can you tell me, how you would solve this puzzle? Thanks

  • HMVC or PAC - how to handle shared abstractions/models?

    - by fig-gnuton
In HMVC/PAC, what's the recommended way to code if two or more triads/agents share a common model/abstraction? Do you instantiate a new instance of that model wherever needed, and propogate a change in one to all the other instances via the controllers? Or do instantiate one model at some common upper level, and inject that instance wherever needed? (Or neither if I'm missing something fundamental about these patterns?)

  • Java Swing: JWindow appears behind all other process windows, and will not disappear

    - by Kim Jong Woo
    I am using JWindow to display my splash screen during the application start up. however it will not appear in front of all windows as it should, and it will not disappear as well. import java.awt.BorderLayout; import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.Font; import java.awt.Toolkit; import javax.swing.BorderFactory; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; import javax.swing.JLabel; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.JWindow; public class MySplash { public static MySplash INSTANCE; private static JWindow jw; public MySplash(){ createSplash(); } private void createSplash() { jw = new JWindow(); JPanel content = (JPanel) jw.getContentPane(); content.setBackground(Color.white); // Set the window's bounds, centering the window int width = 328; int height = 131; Dimension screen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize(); int x = (screen.width - width) / 2; int y = (screen.height - height) / 2; jw.setBounds(x, y, width, height); // Build the splash screen JLabel label = new JLabel(new ImageIcon("splash.jpg")); JLabel copyrt = new JLabel("SplashScreen Test", JLabel.CENTER); copyrt.setFont(new Font("Sans-Serif", Font.BOLD, 12)); content.add(label, BorderLayout.CENTER); content.add(copyrt, BorderLayout.SOUTH); Color oraRed = new Color(156, 20, 20, 255); content.setBorder(BorderFactory.createLineBorder(oraRed, 0)); } public synchronized static MySplash getInstance(){ if(INSTANCE==null){ INSTANCE = new MySplash(); } return INSTANCE; } public void showSplash(){ jw.setAlwaysOnTop(true); jw.toFront(); jw.setVisible(true); return; } public void hideSplash(){ jw.setAlwaysOnTop(false); jw.toBack(); jw.setVisible(false); return; } } So in my main class which extends JFrame, I call my splash screen by SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(){ @Override public void run() { MySplash.getInstance().showSplash(); } }); However, the JWindow appears behind the all open instances of windows on my computer. Hiding the JWindow also doesn't work. SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(){ @Override public void run() { MySplash.getInstance().hideSplash(); } });

  • Loading and saving a class to a binary file

    - by user146780
I don't know if this is possible but, I have a class and I'v made an instance of it. I also put things in it. It has vectors and other things. I was wondering if I could save its contents (the instance) to a binary file, then reload it and cast it in from the file. Thanks

  • Getting path of file copied after deployment in a unit test

    - by amitchd
The connection string in my app.config for my C# project looks like Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='|DataDirectory|\EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" I am writing unit tests for the project and have the set the test run configuration to copy the EIC.mdf, but I do am not able to reference the Deployed copy of EIC.mdf to be referenced by the app.config I created for the test project. If I set it to Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename='EIC.mdf';Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" It still does not find the mdf file.

  • Multi-threaded Pooled Allocators

    - by Darren Engwirda
I'm having some issues using pooled memory allocators for std::list objects in a multi-threaded application. The part of the code I'm concerned with runs each thread function in isolation (i.e. there is no communication or synchronization between threads) and therefore I'd like to setup separate memory pools for each thread, where each pool is not thread-safe (and hence fast). I've tried using a shared thread-safe singleton memory pool and found the performance to be poor, as expected. This is a heavily simplified version of the type of thing I'm trying to do. A lot has been included in a pseudo-code kind of way, sorry if it's confusing. /* The thread functor - one instance of MAKE_QUADTREE created for each thread */ class make_quadtree { private: /* A non-thread-safe memory pool for int linked list items, let's say that it's * something along the lines of BOOST::OBJECT_POOL */ pooled_allocator<int> item_pool; /* The problem! - a local class that would be constructed within each std::list as the * allocator but really just delegates to ITEM_POOL */ class local_alloc { public : //!! I understand that I can't access ITEM_POOL from within a nested class like //!! this, that's really my question - can I get something along these lines to //!! work?? pointer allocate (size_t n) { return ( item_pool.allocate(n) ); } }; public : make_quadtree (): item_pool() // only construct 1 instance of ITEM_POOL per // MAKE_QUADTREE object { /* The kind of data structures - vectors of linked lists * The idea is that all of the linked lists should share a local pooled allocator */ std::vector<std::list<int, local_alloc>> lists; /* The actual operations - too complicated to show, but in general: * * - The vector LISTS is grown as a quadtree is built, it's size is the number of * quadtree "boxes" * * - Each element of LISTS (each linked list) represents the ID's of items * contained within each quadtree box (say they're xy points), as the quadtree * is grown a lot of ID pop/push-ing between lists occurs, hence the memory pool * is important for performance */ } }; So really my problem is that I'd like to have one memory pool instance per thread functor instance, but within each thread functor share the pool between multiple std::list objects.

  • Any way to make dialogs appear/disappear with a transition in MFC?

    - by John
For instance I have a main dialog, when I click a button a smaller dialog appears next to it. But it would be neat if the small one could somehow transition in, rather than simply appear. For instance using transparency, or zooming in, or sliding in from width=0 - full-width. Making an actual dialog do such things isn't too hard, but what about the controls within it? How might we approach this in a way that is reusable on different dialogs?

  • Flex: How do you list private attributes of a class?

    - by mensonge
Hi, I try to serialize objects with their private attributes, in Flex. The introspection API does not seem to allow it: "The describeType() method returns only public members. The method does not return private members of the caller's superclass or any other class where the caller is not an instance." Is there another way for an instance to know the name of its private members?

  • Concept of creating static Map

    - by chetan
I want to create a Map object that can lose value only if we explicitly delete it from map. I have created Map object like public static Map<Long,String> listUser =new HasMap<Long,String>(); but every time class object is created new instance of Map is also created that contain null value. I want to create a Map instance that contain value we stored before.

  • Haskell type classes and type families (cont'd)

    - by Giuseppe Maggiore
    I need some help in figuring a compiler error which is really driving me nuts... I have the following type class: infixl 7 --> class Selectable a s b where type Res a s b :: * (-->) :: (CNum n) => (Reference s a) -> (n,(a->b),(a->b->a)) -> Res a s b which I instance twice. First time goes like a charm: instance Selectable a s b where type Res a s b = Reference s b (-->) (Reference get set) (_,read,write) = (Reference (\s -> let (v,s') = get s in (read v,s')) (\s -> \x -> let (v,s') = get s v' = write v x (_,s'') = set s' v' in (x,s''))) since the type checker infers (-->) :: Reference s a -> (n,a->b,a->b->a) -> Reference s b and this signature matches with the class signature for (--) since Res a s b = Reference s b Now I add a second instance and everything breaks: instance (Recursive a, Rec a ~ reca) => Selectable a s (Method reca b c) where type Res a s (Method reca b c) = b -> Reference s c (-->) (Reference get set) (_,read,write) = \(x :: b) -> from_constant( Constant(\(s :: s)-> let (v,s') = get s :: (a,s) m = read v ry = m x :: Reference (reca) c (y,v') = getter ry (cons v) :: (c,reca) v'' = elim v' (_,s'') = set s' v'' in (y,s''))) :: Reference s c the compiler complains that Couldn't match expected type `Res a s (Method reca b c)' against inferred type `b -> Reference s c' The lambda expression `\ (x :: b) -> ...' has one argument, which does not match its type In the expression: \ (x :: b) -> from_constant (Constant (\ (s :: s) -> let ... in ...)) :: Reference s c In the definition of `-->': --> (Reference get set) (_, read, write) = \ (x :: b) -> from_constant (Constant (\ (s :: s) -> ...)) :: Reference s c reading carefully the compiler is telling me that it has inferred the type of (--) thusly: (-->) :: Reference s a -> (n,a->(Method reca b c),a->(Method reca b c)->a) -> (b -> Reference s c) which is correct since Res a s (Method reca b c) = b -> Reference s c but why can't it match the two definitions? Sorry for not offering a more succint and standalone example, but in this case I cannot figure how to do it...

  • What's the best way to call an IBAction from within code?

    - by Rob
Say for instance I have an IBAction that is hooked up to a button in interface builder. - (IBAction)functionToBeCalled:(id)sender { // do something here } Within my code, say for instance in another method, what is the best way to call that IBAction? If I try to call it like this, I receive an error: [self functionToBeCalled:]; But, if I try to call it like this (cheating a bit, I think), it works fine: [self functionToBeCalled:0]; What is the proper way to call it though?

  • GWT - Reusing Callback Class

    - by moorsu
My custom callback class implements AsyncCallback (like MyAsyncCallback implements AsyncCallback) and planning use single instance of MyAsyncCallback for multiple rpc method executions. Is this approach safe?. Or should have to create new instance of MyAsyncCallback for every interaction from browser to server?. I am kind of tired of seeing so many anonymous AsyncCallback code blocks. Thanks for your input

  • Is it easy to do IPC with wxWidgets?

    - by George Edison
Is it easy to create an IPC setup with wxWidgets? I have an application that needs to detect if a previous instance is running and send a message to the running instance with a string value. Is there an easier way to do this than setting up a wxServer and wxClient-derived class?
