  • Any web interface to show deployments history with mcollective?

    I'm using mcollective & puppet for deployments. I would like to know if there is any user interface which allows me to choose a specific package/version and deploy and any user interface i can already use which allows me to show the deployments history and their status. (I saw that glu has a nice user interface i'm looking for something like it, http://linkedin.github.com/glu/docs/latest/html/tutorial.html ) I wondered if i could use glu (so that i can get their deployment history gui if they have a good one...) with mcollective but from what i understand they are parallel frameworks.

  • Show Slave Status not working from console, nor client.

    Hello, I have a somewhat strange case. Whenever one of my coworkers executes this line: show slave status; from their MySQL clients, it works smoothly. But if I do that, it says: ERROR 1227 (42000): Access denied; you need the SUPER,REPLICATION CLIENT privilege for this operation We are all going against the same database, and if I check privileges I can see: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON . TO 'usermysql'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'password' There's something wrong with my computer.. but I can't pinpoint where it is.. Thanks EDIT: It's kinda bizarre.. it goes through a VPN remotely. But if I change the internet connection, then it works.. If the previous internet connection is restored, it doesn't.. Could we classify this among the great mysteries of the world? Or someone has an idea?

In my case would say that the folder could be deleted without previous warning to save some disk space. I already create a file inside the folder with the warning message: WARNING! ########################################################################################################################################################## Please, be advised, that the folder /company-backup/amazon-s3 can be deleted without previous WARNING to save disk space as the INFRASTRUCTURE TEAM judge necessary.   • Rename file in XP, only select file name, but show file extension.

    So if I have a file called: test.txt and I want to rename it, there are two options (depending on the Show already known file extension option): 1) ON: it selects everything (test.txt), meaning I have to manually select "test" and replace it with the new filename. (which is irritating) 2) OFF: Only "test" is editable (and visible). Problem is that I frequently need to change the file extension of a file, but if the option is turned on, it's a pain to change the file name. I know that in Win7 it does something smart: It only selects the file name when you press rename[F2], but also lets you edit the file extension. Is there a way to accomplish this?

  • Why does my USB stick not show up in Windows Vista?

    Just reinstalled a Lenovo laptop with Vista. Two separate USB sticks, that work fine on another computer, will not show up on this Vista computer. USB ports work fine for other stuff. USB sticks worked before I reinstalled the computer. After looking around, I tried going into Disk management, to see if they appear there - they don't. Is there some sort of service, that might be disabled, not allowing removable drives to mount? Or what else can be wrong?

  • Can Excel show a formula and its result simultaneously?

    I know that it's possible in Excel to toggle between displaying values and displaying formulas. I'm required to turn in assignments for a statistics class as a printed Excel sheet showing both the formula and the result. Right now the instructor makes us either copy the formula and paste it as text next to the computed value, or copy the value and paste it next to the formula. This is very inefficient, prone to error (if you change the formula or values after doing the copy-paste), and generally a waste of time. Is there any way to have Excel show the formula and its value in the same cell? If not, is there any function which will display the formula from a referenced cell as plain text, e.g. =showformula(A1) which would print out =sum(A2:A5) instead of 25 (if those were the formula and value of cell A1)? I'm using Excel 2010, but a general answer that works for any recent edition of Excel would be nice.

  • Is there an image viewer which *won't* show every file in the current folder?

    Looking for a Windows image viewer which can be started from the command line but which allows me to specify/restrict which files I want it to page through. As parameters. The good 'ol Windows Picture Viewer would be fine except that it'll show/cycle through all the pictures in the current folder. In my case I want to say something like: someimgvwr.exe "cat.jpg" "cow.jpg" "cub.jpg" so that only those three files will be displayed and not "pig.jpg" which might also happen to be there in the same folder. Actually, if it allowed something like this: someimgvwr.exe "c*.jpg" that would be even more perfect. Do any of the many image viewers that are out there allow such a thing?

  • Is there a program that will show a tree of the differences in two file trees?

    In windows I manually back up from time to time by formatting my external drive and copying the contents of my data partition over. Inevitably there is a difference in the number and size of the files copied because of system files, etc. Is there a program that would diff two directories recursively and compile the differences into a nice GUI tree that I could peruse (preferably filter) to ensure that everything I want made it over to the drive? It should only show files that are not in both directories. (Also, please ignore the inadequacy of my backup solution)

  • MySQL simple replication problem: 'show master status' produces 'Empty set'?

    I've been setting up MySQL master replication (on Debian 6.0.1) following these instructions faithfully: http://www.neocodesoftware.com/replication/ I've got as far as: mysql > show master status; but this is unfortunately producing the following, rather than any useful output: Empty set (0.00 sec) The error log at /var/log/mysql.err is just an empty file, so that's not giving me any clues. Any ideas? This is what I have put in /etc/mysql/my.cnf on one server (amended appropriately for the other server): server-id = 1 replicate-same-server-id = 0 auto-increment-increment = 2 auto-increment-offset = 1 master-host = 10.0.0.3 master-user = <myusername> master-password = <mypass> master-connect-retry = 60 replicate-do-db = fruit log-bin = /var/log/mysql-replication.log binlog-do-db = fruit And I have set up users and can connect from MySQL on Server A to the database on Server B using the username/password/ipaddress above.

  • Munin help... configure graphs to show different time periods

    I'm running a server with Munin installed through WHM cPanel. I've been googling around and I can't seem to find out how to do the following: A: Change a graph to show a different time period (currently I can only view, day, week, month, year). I would like to possibly view per minute, per hour... or specific intervals such as per 30 minutes, per 4 hours, etc... B(optional, but preferred): Add new graphs with the above criteria(A) above. I am a novice with all things that will possibly be required to do this (such as ssh). I wish I could just go edit a php file as I'm highly experienced in that subject. Thanks for any help!

  • Windows 7, file properties, date modified, how do you show seconds?

    Anyone know a way to immediately show the seconds of a file's date modified property in the GUI? So if you create a file, any file in any directory, right-click and choose Properties, the date modified (if it's recent) will say something like "dd/mm/yyy hh:mm, one minute ago" - reminder this is in Windows 7. Windows XP did it normally. Then they changed something. If you wait a while, eventually you'll see the seconds, I'm not sure how long a while is, but this is incredibly annoying if you want to troubleshoot something that relies on the seconds of timestamps... is there a setting? registry key I can change perhaps? I'm literally using Chrome, pasting in the path of the directory to be able to see the seconds quickly (as a workaround) but would be nice to be able to use Win7.

  • How to solve the problem that Chrome doesn't obey "Show Window side by side" on Win7?

    If I bring out Firefox and Chrome, and right click on the task bar and choose "Show Windows side by side", Chrome will not be arranged side by side. But if it is Firefox and IE, then the 2 windows will in fact be arranged side by side. If it is Chrome showing and we press and hold "Window key" and LEFT ARROW, then in fact it does move to the left as a half size window. So Chrome partially work on Win7 for the expected behavior. Any method to make it work for the first case? thanks.

  • How do I get the C# Winforms Webbrowser control to show PDF content embedded in the html file as bin

    I am using a Winforms webbrowser control to display HTML content stored in my SQL DB table. However, some of my contents are PDFs which I intend to store as binary data in the SQL DB and feed to the Webbrowser control. I wish to avoid the hassle of storing the binary content in a temporary file on the client machine and then create html container code to reference this temporary PDF file. Is there a way inwhich I can embed the PDF binary content into the html directly and show this html on the webbrowser control directly? I found these previous threads referring to a COM 'hack'.     "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" This is probably one of the most common run-time errors in .NET. Although the System.Exception has a stack trace, why does the exception not also show the name of the object reference field, or at least its type? Over the course of a year I spend hours sifting through stack traces (often in code I did not write), hoping there is a line number from a ".pdb" file, then finding the line in the code, and even then it is often not obvious which reference on the line was null. Having the name of the reference field would be very convenient. If System.ArgumentNullException instances can show the name of the method parameter ("Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value"), then surely System.NullReferenceException instances could include the name of the null field (or its containing collection).

    I have a simple script that will send out a bunch of emails but these take time to send and I want to show the user a scrolling window with the emails addresses as they are sent (or, a progress bar would be good too). I believe this is possible with the new User Interface Classes, but I can't get it to work. The documentation is kinda sparse. Specifically, the problem is that the GUI window that pops up appears blank until all the emails have been sent (the script ends) and then the text appears. This happens even if I call show(myapp) after every time I update the Label.

  • Using "Show values as" option in Excel 2007 pivot table when source is SSAS cube?

    I have an Excel 2007 pivot table showing "Year" across the top and "Month" down the side. What I am trying to do is represent the values as "% Difference" from the same month of the previous year. (Ex. If Jan-07 is $100,000 and Jan-08 is $120,000, I would like Jan-08 to show '20%'). However, every time I try to do this (using the "Show values as" tab of Value Field Settings) all of my numbers go to '#N/A'. Is there a way to do this using an Analysis Services cube as the data source? When I do this exact same thing using data on a different sheet as the data source for the pivot table, it works fine. Thanks in advance for any insight into this.

    Let's face it, programmers can be show-offs. I've seen a lot of code that was only done a particular way to prove how smart the person who wrote it was. What's the best example of pure show-off code you've seen (or been responsible for) in your time? For me, it'd have to be the guy who wrote FizzBuzz in one line on a whiteboard during a programming interview. Not really that impressive in the scheme of things, but completely unnecessary and pure, "look-what-I-can-do". I've tried YAHOO.util.Dom.get('elementId').hide(), asked my co-workers, looked at the documentation, and searched Google, and I've found nothing helpful. From the documentation, it looks like this should work YAHOO.util.Dom.get('elementId').setStyle('display', 'none') but of course it does not. All I can think of is this, which sucks because then I'm not using a framework: document.getElementById('elementId').style.display = 'none';

    I'm building what is essentially a web app. Every piece of data has to be fetched from a web API. So, every UITableView that I show takes some amount of time to fill with data and I'm struggling to find a good way to show the user a loading screen. Right now I'm popping up an action sheet, but that just seems a bit wrong. Ideally, I'd popup up a blank view over the tableview with "Loading..." on it, then fade it away when the data comes in, but I can't think of a way to do that in 8 places in my app without massive code duplication.

    I have a web application created with JSF and Tobago. The user types some date into a sheet and clicks a button (all within one sheet-row). Now my java class checks whether the data is correct or not. In case there are some problems, I would like to show up something like a messagebox containing the errormessage. I cannot use something like JDialog, since this would happen only server side. Every user independently of his location needs to get the message. I thought about setting the error information into a databean and having my jsp show up the message after reloading. But how can I achieve this? Is there something like a tag which can be used for this? Or can I use the "confirmation" facet for this? But how would I start it without having the user to do something? Thanks in advance!
