  • Can I redirect the HTTP request towards an old folder to the homepage using .htaccess file?

    I have to following situation: I had an old blog that was made using Joomla (this blog was indexed well enough by search engines). For some problems I delete it and I have create it again using WordPress. Now I have many visit (from Google) that leading to specific pages of the old site (pages that don't exist in the new version). For example I have visit to URL as: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test that don't exist on my new site. I would know if using the .htaccess file (or other sistem) I can redirect the HTTP request directed to some subfolder (that don't exist in the new version) to the homepage of my new site. For example I have the request towards the void URL: /scorejava/index.php/corso-spring-mvc/1-test. And I would create a regular expression that say something like: all the request toward the subfolder corso-spring-mvc (and all it's content file and subfolder) have to be redirected to www.scorejava.com. Is it possible?

  • Folder name in sidebar is changed, how to get it back?

    My OSX is Simplified Chinese, so the user folders in finder's sidebar is like this: AirDrop ???? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? These stand for AirDrop, Applications, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Movies, Musics and Pictures. However, now with an accident, my "Downloads" folders in sidebar is changed to its original english name, and I don't why, so my sidebar is now look like: AirDrop ???? ?? ?? Downloads ?? ?? ?? I know do symbol link to these folders would cause such case but I cannot find any symbol links to my ~/Downloads folder. So is there any way to get the Chinese name back? it looks so weired and dirty. I have a time machine backup 3 days ago, but I have quite a lot modifications to my user folder these 3 days, so time machine may not be a good choice.

  • .htaccess - Simulating virtual host wrong link to Parent Directory in Directory Listing

    I have a domain dedicated for my local server (.dev), and an .htaccess file which redirects requests like http://folder.dev/subfolder/ to /htdocs/folder/subfolder. It works great and all, except for one minor issue. When I have the Directory Listing enabled, I can access all the folders, subfolders and files properly, except when I click on the Parent Directory link, which, for example, should lead to http://folder.dev, but redirects to http://folder.dev/folder/ and consequently throws 404 not found. Similarly, if Parent Directory should link to http://folder.dev/subfolder/, it links to http://folder.dev/folder/subfolder/.   • rsync verify a file already exists in dest folder so it will skip the copy on the 1st sync

    I have been looking at different tutorials about rsync about some specific situation I have. I have a home server with all my pics, this server is my backup, my PC is the one that receives the new pics and until now i had been manually copying and pasting new photos from the PC to the server. I was trying to setup rsync to do this automatically and in principle, it does without problem. Now the issue; when I fire up rsync it start copying all the files, even the ones were already in the destination (this is because it is the 1st sync). so my question is: Is it possible for rsync to verify that a file is the same (name/size/bin) so it will skip the copy on the 1st sync?

  • File upload folder permission fastCGI - How to make it writeable?

    I am using centos 5.7 with cPanel WHM running fastcgi/suEXEC I am trying to make a particular folder writable to allow a script to upload files but seem to be having problems. The folder (and all recursive folders) I want to be writable is: /home/mydomain/public_html/uploads And I want only scripts run by the user "songbanc" to be able to write to this directory. I have tried the following: chown -R songbanc /home/mydomain/public_html/uploads chmod -R 755 /home/mydomain/public_html/uploads But it still doesn't seem to work. The script will only upload files if I set the permissions manually via FTP client to 777. I assume I am misunderstanding how to set permission for users with fastcgi and hopefully someone can help me.   • How do I change the default ftp folder in Mac OS X 10.6?

    I'm running WordPress 2.9.1 from a Mac running 10.6.3. WordPress is installed to the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder. WordPress has a feature called Auto Update. Clicking an auto update button will download and install updated versions of the WordPress software, or third-party plugin tools. It's a convenient way to keep things up to date. WordPress uses FTP to download the files. I've enabled FTP and set up a user account and opened the requisite ports in my firewall for FTP traffic. This doesn't seem to be enough for my self-hosted installation, though. I'm sure this feature was originally designed for someone who has access to a remote shared webserver, and that it's merely a configuration challenge related to the FTP setup. I feel that if I can adjust the initial directory that the FTP service presents to the AutoUpdate feature, everything else will work properly. So, my question is, how do I adjust what folder is presented when a given user connects to a Mac running 10.6.3 via FTP?

  • Picasa duplicates everything into a `$My Pictures` folder.

    My parents have a Windows XP laptop running Picasa, Dutch version of both. It's configured to put imported photos in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Mijn documenten\Mijn afbeeldingen, which is Windows XP's default My Pictures folder localized to Dutch. A while back I noticed disk space was going much faster than it should be. Turns out there was a Documents and Settings\user\Mijn documenten\$My Pictures pretty much the same size as the original one. This was well over a year ago. I figured it to be an internationalization bug, the $My Pictures thing looks like a placeholder that didn't get resolved. I figured it'd get fixed soon. It didn't. I threw out Picasa, tediously cleaned up the mess it left behind and replaced it by Windows Live Photo Gallery. My parents found WLPG to be unworkable and asked to get Picasa back. I reinstalled it, by now it's at 3.8.0 (build 117.29, 0). Wouldn't you have it, the mystery $My Pictures folder is back, 25GB of disk space has evaporated and it's the same mess it used to be. What's going on here? How do I stop it doing this?

    Hi, I found the iPhone simulator at /Username/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/ and in there I can see my apps within a cryptic directory name. One of my apps is storing a database and some cached files in the iPhone's "Personal" folder which I thought is the "Documents" folder in the directory of the simulator. But there's nothing in it.     For example, to access a page in my search folder, I have to write: mywebsite.tld/search/searchJob.php I don't want users to have to write down folder structure and whatnot.
