  • How to add entity object to adequate entity set with object context in EF?

    I have a problem when I add an entity object with ObjectContext.AddObject method because I can't retrieve that object with LINQ querying my ObjectContext.Person entities. I know that this new added object is stored somewhere, because it is used to update database after SaveChanges method. That's bothers me because I want to update my datagrid DataContext without saving changes unless I really want to do it. It doesn't help if I add the same object to DataContext list myself directly.

    Hello All, I am creating a string containing HTML tags and some data and storing it in 2 diff formats ( eng and Jp) and finally saving complete stirng using streamwriter in a file as HTML. Output written in English is perfect but JP output is not coming as expected ? Issue: I need to display proper JP char in the output, as of now thay are not appearing as expected..any suggestion ? Thanks in advance... Not sure but could this b b/c of encoding supported by string/stringbuilder ?

While using this control i came across a few issues like - When the tab control loads, it invokes constructor of all the xaml pages that form the individual tabs. Can this be avoided? Is there any event with tab control that we can use to identify dirty data on the previous tab that i may have visited. I mean can i prevent user from navigating to some other tab before saving the changes on current tab.

    I am working with ASP.NET MVC2 RC and can't figure out how to get the HTML helper, TextBoxfor to work with a ViewModel pattern. When used on an edit page the data is not saved when UpdateModel() is called in the controller. I have taken the following code examples from the NerdDinner application.     In my drupal installation I can get the offset from UTC in seconds to the timezone I specified in the admin panel using variable_get('date_default_timezone', 0) However, now that we have daylight-saving-time, the time I get is always off by one hour. Is there a way to retrieve the actual timezone string from Drupal, as "Europe/Berlin" for example? The reason is, that I have to use this with Zend Framework's Zend_Date, but Drupal does not set the PHP default timezone, as echo date_default_timezone_get(); gives me System/Localtime.

    Afternoon, Bit of a tricky question this one, I have a website and need to translate the pages into french, I am using google translate API to do the translation. What I am doing is loading in the HTML templates into a string using PHP and then need to translate the text copy on the pages and then save as for example: fr_master_header.html de_master_header.html The problem I have is identifying the text copy on the page ignoring the HTML, replacing the copy in the extact place and then saving the file with the HTML tags and trasnlated text copy. Currently, we're using PHP in the server, but I guess the key thing here is: How to post the audio to the server? However, I need to recreate state on a non-post back page.The key i'm using for loading viewstate from cache is being passed in the querystring but I am unable to find a way to force viewstate to load on a non-post back page.   • How do I save an object that contains and EntitySet?

    Say I have an User (mapped to a User table) and the Edit view (in MVC) displays a multiselectlist of Modules (mapped to a Modules table) that user can access, with the Modules pre-selected based on the User's EntitySet of Modules. I have tried saving the User then deleting all User_Modules manually and adding them back based on what's selected on submit, but the User has a null EntitySet for User.User_Modules. I cannot find the correct way to handle this scenario anywhere online. Can anyone help?

    So say you have a three tier application with the tiers UI, Services, and Repository for a simple application, let's say saving addresses. If AddressService has an interface IAddressService, where does that interface belong? I know that "in the address service" may seem like an obvious answer, but if it's in the address service it would seem to defeat the point of having the interface such that any service library could be swapped in as long as it implemented IAddressService. (specifically this is in a .net problem space, but it's probably more general so it's tagged architecture)
