  • Java Swing Forms Catching Data

    Hi everybody, I have a form in swing with a lot of textfields receiving data, then, the idea is when a click on a botton, the app catch all the data from the textfields. Do you know a good practice for this?, or is it necessary to catch textfield by textfield to get the data?.. Thx for your time.

  • Large memory chunk not garbage collected

    In a hunt for a memory-leak in my app I chased down a behaviour I can't understand. I allocate a large memory block, but it doesn't get garbage-collected resulting in a OOM, unless I explicit null the reference in onDestroy. In this example I have two almost identical activities that switch between each others. Both have a single button. On pressing the button MainActivity starts OOMActivity and OOMActivity returns by calling finish(). After pressing the buttons a few times, Android throws a OOMException. If i add the the onDestroy to OOMActivity and explicit null the reference to the memory chunk, I can see in the log that the memory is correctly freed. Why doesn't the memory get freed automatically without the nulling?   • (Java) weird value of System.getProperty("os.version")

    hello fellow java developers, Im trying toget the System.getProperty("os.name") of my own machine. I am running a java application directly from the machine from within eclipse. My machine is "windows 7" the returned value is "windows vista" ! Seems wrong, very wrong. and yes I am sure that I am running the app on a windows 7 machine... Any ideas as to what is going on here?

I'm using Coredata in my app, on first launch I download a data file and insert over 500 objects (each with 60 attributes) - fast, no problem. Each subsequent launch I download an updated version of the file, from which I need to update all existing objects' attributes (except maybe 5 attributes) and create new ones for items which have been added to the downloaded file. So, first launch I get 500 objects.. say a week later my file now contains 507 items.. I create two arrays, one for existing and one for downloaded. NSArray *peopleArrayDownloaded = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeopleTemp]; NSArray *peopleArrayExisting = [CoreDataHelper getObjectsFromContext:@"person" :@"person_id" :YES :managedObjectContextPeople]; If the count of each array is equal then I just do this: NSUInteger index = 0; if ([peopleArrayExisting count] == [peopleArrayDownloaded count]) { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is same as the number of people existing"); for (person *existingPerson in peopleArrayExisting) { person *tempPerson = [peopleArrayDownloaded objectAtIndex:index]; // NSLog(@"Updating id: %@ with id: %@",existingPerson.person_id,tempPerson.person_id); // I have 60 attributes which I to update on each object, is there a quicker way other than overwriting existing? index++; } } else { NSLog(@"Number of people downloaded is different to number of players existing"); So now comes the slow part.   • Undo implementation - DOM manipulations

    Is there a library that can be used for implementing undo/redo functionality for DOM element manipulations in JavaScript? I'm writing an app that moves around DOM elements, enables editing and deletion of those elements. There are event-handlers and other objects associated with each element operated upon. Not sure whether I need to roll my own implementation of the Command pattern for this. Surely, there must be something available? If not, suggestions and pointers would be a great help.

  • Android Camera exit rotate

    I am first time to write a camera app. At program, I am using setRequestedOrientation(ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_LANDSCAPE) and android:screenOrientation="landscape" in Manifest to set the landscape screen. My problem is when use System.exit() or Intent. The screen will change to portrait automatically. But in my program, it haven't set any screen orientation again. How can I prevent this problem?     Hi, I'm trying to use this fairly standard line of code in my app: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] registerForRemoteNotificationTypes:(UIRemoteNotificationTypeAlert | UIRemoteNotificationTypeBadge | UIRemoteNotificationTypeSound)]; But am receiving the follow error: error: invalid conversion from 'int' to 'UIRemoteNotificationType' It works if I only use one of the notification types but fails every time if I try and use more than one. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

But is it legal for me to simply bundle and use this product directly within my app (no modification) and resell for commercial use?
