  • Installing a directory with a Debian Package

    Hi guys I want to create a Debian Package that installs a bunch of Folders to a system but I can't get it working. The Package gets created without any errors and lintian also says it's okay but installing does nothing.   • Directory Synchronization

    We’re using federated security with Office 365 and everything was running swimmingly and then I started getting the following error when trying to synchronize security information: “An unknown error occurred with the Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant. Contact Technical Support.” Great.  Very descriptive.  In the event viewer, you get a bit more detail: GetAuthState() failed with -2147186688 state. HResult:0. Contact Technical Support.  (0x80048831) If you do some searching, you’ll find that there are a couple of MSDN articles about this error.  In KB2502710 you’re told to reinstall sign in assistant.  This one requires a reboot.  In KB2517393 you’re told to make sure that your proxy settings are working correctly.  I’m not using a proxy and everything was set up right. Rather frustrating and I couldn’t figure out what was going on.  What finally keyed me in was the error number being presented.  Rather than 80048800, which is listed in the second article, I was getting 80048831.  I did a quick search and found something that was seemingly unrelated here.  Could it really be so simple as the password having expired for my synchronization user? Turns out, it was that simple.  Once the password was reset and reentered, everything worked great again. Since this isn’t a user that humans use, I also don’t want the password to expire.  You can find the instructions for that (use Set-MsolUser –UserPrincipalName <user ID> –PasswordNeverExpires $true) here.   • "Index of ..." directory's files listing

    On my courses we've got homework on site in folders such as: http://example.com/files/tasks1-edc34rtgfds http://example.com/files/tasks2-0bg454fgerg http://example.com/files/tasks3-h1dlkjiojo8 ... Each tasksi-xxxxxxxxxxx is a folder with 11 random characters at the end. And when you view the above URLs in browser you can see Index of /tasksi-xxxxxxxxx with all the files in that folder. When you view http://example.com/files/ you can see only empty html with words "Hello, world". The problem is that you can't look into the next task without knowledge of its URL. So for example we've got the URLs for tasks1 and tasks2, and we can't guess what tasks3 URL will be (as we need to know the 11 random characters at the end) How can I get the list of all directories? (Is there a way to type something like http://example.com/files/task1-aflafjal343/..? or another way?) I want to see all upcoming homework tasks.

    I develop an android application and in my app I use a libary (jar) that I download from the internet. This jar is open-source under the "GNU General Public License v2". I tried to read the text of the license but had difficulty understanding it. My question is: can I use this libary without changing nothing in the jar in a commercial application? I will be making profit from selling my app which uses this GPL-ed .jar file. If possible, I would like to avoid converting my application to open-source.

    Ok. So while this isnt a programming question. I wanted to know how do people debug apps? How do you view log cat, and where these exceptions are thrown etc? And do I need to run the app on the emulator to see all the stuff, or is there a way to view this after running the app on my phone(while not being connected to the computer) Links to plugins and tips would be really helpful, as im gonna start work on my next game, and while the first one works fine, had a lot of problems while debugging.

    I'm trying to put all of my FTP accounts into a folder on /public_html/ftp and password protect it so search bots can't crawl their private files. I'm also trying to redirect all site traffic from the non-www to www. I keep getting 500 errors when accessing the site, and I need to point it to www.vivalanation.com/ftp to www.vivalanation.com/ftp/, because the /ftp just errors out, you need the trailing slash.     I need to develop a programm that is going to read some information from a special USB device and access information via Web Socket (socket.io preferred). My client wants to deploy this app on Mac OS X, Windows, Android and iOS. I was looking for development softwares valid for both: Desktop and Mobile, but it is still not clear for me and that´s what I found. Unity - Looks very good but to create a native plugin for reading from the device it lloks like I need the PRO edition. Adobe Air - Looks good but I´m not sure if I can write Native Plugins for all wanted platforms. LiveCode - Still inmature (lots of bugs) and I don´t know if it is possible to write native plugins for my device. Is there any other good platform for my case? What´s your option?

  • Website and file/directory permissions

    I've been given a task to fix this one website. One of its issues is that on one page, the images have broken links - the images are not showing, and clicking on the image (i.e. direct link to the image file) results in a 403 (Forbidden) error. I am looking for some feedback on what could be the possible cause. The directory where the images are stored has the following permissions: drwxrws--- www "group" 10240 Aug 2008 "image directory name" I had to hide the names. I checked the page source code, and everything seems to be in place. The rest of the site, and other images outside that image directory are showing fine. I was told that recently there have been some changes to the server. I'm trying to assume that there is no fault in the source code, and the permissions are - or used to be - correct (since the site has been working before, and no recent changes to the site itself have been made). My only thoughts at the moment is that either: a) the directory permission should be: drwxrws--x (executable) for the other users, or b) there is a change in the server settings that I don't know of. Is there anything else I should check?

  • "No such file or directory"?

    Ok, so I have a VDS laying around, and I thought I would turn it into a TF2 game server. When I connect to my server through PuTTY, and use wget to download the package "hldsupdatetool.bin" from Steampowered.com. I go to run it and it says "No such file or directory found". When I use "ls" to see what files are in directory, it lists "hldsupdatetool.bin" as being in the directory. So, why is it saying it's not there? This has been a headache for the past 2 days. What I was attempting to do in my template was build a simple if/elif/else tree to be grammatically correct to be able to state #foo_count == 0: There are no foos. #foo_count == 1: There is one foo. #else: There are {{ foos|length }} foos. Browsing the Django template documents (this link provided in the GAE documentation appears to be for versions of Django far newer than what is supported on GAE), it appears as if I can only actually use boolean operators (if in fact boolean operators are supported in this older version of Django) with strings or other template variables. Is it not possible to compare variables to integers or non-strings with Django templates? I'm sure there is an easy way to workaround this - built up the message string on the Python side rather than within the template - but this seems like such a simple operation you ought to be able to handle in a template. It sounds like I should be switching to a more advanced templating engine, but as I am new to Django (templates or any part of it), I'd just like some confirmation first.

  • Facebook SSO authorize in safari but not in facebook app

    My problem: I has developed an app with Facebook SSO in my iPhone/iPad. It was working OK. But I have changed the certificate of my app (so now it has new app ID). I also have changed the "iOS pack ID" property in Facebook: I deleted the old app ID and I added the new one. But now my app doesn't do the Facebook SSO when Facebook app is installed. It does it OK when Facebook app is not installed and it uses Safari. I have read this question and this question that say the problem is the "iOS pack ID" and app ID don't match. I have checked it a lot of times, and it is the same. I have put the old app ID in the "iOS pack ID" property of Facebook, but it still doesn't work. I don't know if Facebook take a time to check if my app ID is valid, and how they show the result. I have been a lot of time with this issue. It seem like the problem is the iOS pack ID is not exactly the app ID, but it is not the problem: they are exactly the same. Thank you very much.
