One of the directory supposed to treat .htm as php yet got text, created another directory and edit a phpinfo, still another text, browse to phpmyadmin, viola, works fine Suspect Does Apache honour XP security and permission ? If so, this is a single user computer. Does Apache dont like my new hard disk/new place ? Why it doesnt execute the php in new directory but happily execute in old folder ? • Send command through PuTTY automatic login

  I am using the following to login automatically to a remote server and then run commands listed in a commands.txt, like this: C:\path to\putty.exe -ssh adreese.ip -l user -pw Password -m C:\Path to\command.txt commands.txt contains the following: wakeonlan -i broadcast adress Macadress However, when I try to do so a new window for PuTTY appears, but it closes and exits instantly after login. As a result, I cannot see the output of the command(s). After a several tests, it appears that the command is not execute , cause my computer doesn't "wake on lan". I don't understand what's going on here ? I cannot use the plink.exe program cause I cannot make connection with public key ( too much distant site for doing all the registration keys in putty ) Can someone help me with this ? Or can i use another program to make ssh connection and send command with script from a windows os? Edit : I also try to make a bash file in the distant server with the same command and execute it from the session like this : C:\path to\putty.exe -ssh adreese.ip -l user -pw Password \home\user\script.sh Ihave the same problem... Need help please : /

  Vim has a terrific paste mode, in which abbreviations and mappings are ignored. Frustratingly, even keys that do not map to pastable ASCII characters, such as the function keys, are pasted literally. For instance the key F2 is pasted as <F2>. Is there anyway around this? Note that pastetoggle can in fact be mapped to a function key to easily leave paste mode, however the function that I am writing changes other values when entering or leaving paste mode (such as enabling or disabling line numbers and other things). Therefore I would really like to find a workaround. • Gnome, open with, custom command, filename reference

  I want to execute this custom command on a file from the Gnome File Browser: hexdump -C $f > $f.dump That would create a hexdump of the file with the file's name + .dump in the directory that the file exists in. When I say $f above I mean something that would substitute the name of the file that was opened. So I've tried "Open with", "Use a custom command". I can't get it to work. I've tried a number of symbols in place of $f. Is it even possible? Before you suggest getting a GUI hexdump program, this is just one example. I have the need to do this sort of thing for many terminal-type programs. Am I the only person on Earth who wishes for a hybrid File-Browser-slash-Command-Terminal? That would be a file browser which contained a terminal pane who's current directory always matched that of the file browser. One could execute shell commands in the context of what they were viewing in the browser.

• SSH hangs when executing command remotely

  Client : OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-5ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 9.04) Server : OpenSSH_5.1p1 Debian-5 (Proxmox 2.6.24-7-pve) I use SSH to execute commands remotely on the server (module check_by_ssh of Nagios). But SSH hangs from time to time when trying to execute commands. I can log to the server via SSH but not executing a simple 'ls'. And it seems to block from all clients from the same IP address. Authentication is not the problem, may it be made by SSH keys or password. ssh -l root -p 2222 server.domain.tld 'ls' Here the client debug info debug1: Entering interactive session. debug2: callback start debug2: client_session2_setup: id 0 debug1: Sending environment. debug3: Ignored env ORBIT_SOCKETDIR *** skipping approx 40 env var ignored debug1: Sending command: ls debug2: channel 0: request exec confirm 1 It hangs there. Then after a random time, it works again (without doing anything). Killing all sshd process on the server seems to work too. It works from a Putty. I saw that some people had trouble like this due to ISP reverse DNS problem, but it does not seem to be the case here. It can work for hours and then not work for half an hour or so. What could explain this behaviour ?

• How to distribute multiple executions of an app across many machines

  I've got a simulation app (64-bit windows) that runs without any user interaction. This app gathers information and pushes it to a remote MS SQL Server. What I'd like to do is execute this simulation as many times as I can on multiple machines after our nightly build has finished and it has passed the test suite. If possible I'd love to have the ability to configure it to stop after x total runs or if the entire batch has taken over y hours. I've tried using Visual Studio's built in test framework since we already have a test lab set up with multiple agents. I created a single unit test that simply runs the simulation then I created an ordered test and added that single test multiple times (from what I gather, this is the only way to execute the same unit test more than once). I found that ordered tests are only run on a single agent and not distributed which is very limiting. We use TeamCity to perform our nightly builds and I suspect it's possible to implement this on top of that, but I'm fairly new to TeamCity. We also have Jenkins and Bamboo available and I'm open to any other software that would get the job done presuming it runs on a 64-bit Windows OS. Any suggestions?

• mysqldump isn't able to export a specific database, phpMyAdmin crashes

  I'm experiencing problems with a database on my server (Note: All other databases work fine). Once I try to export it with mysqldump I get this error: # mysqldump -u root -pXXXXXXXXX databasename > /root/databasename.sql mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'show table status like 'apps'': Lost connection to MySQL server during query (2013) Also, phpMyAdmin throws an error when selecting this database and immediately logs out. However, the web site which uses this database works fine. I can also execute SELECT statements on the table named "apps" from the MySQL shell. I tried restarting the MySQL daemon as well as REPAIR DATABASE and REPAIR TABLE but the problem still persists. I had this problem before, then it disappeared somehow without me doing anything to resolve the issue. Now, the problem is back and I'm simply unable to create a backup of this database. • SSH with public/private key to iMac fails.

  I'm trying to connect to my iMac (server) from my macbook (client) on my LAN. Both have Mac OS X 10.6.4. Server running on a new clean install of the OS. When just activating Remote Login in System Preferences everything works fine. But when setting up ssh to only work with public/private key I get the following error messages from the server log depending on if I use a rsa passphrase or not: With passphrase (case 1): PAM: user account has expired for <myServerUserName> from 192.168.X.X via 192.168.X.Y Without passphrase (case 2): Failed publickey for <myServerUserName> from 192.168.X.X port AAAAA ssh2 This is my setup algorithm: Create a private and public key on client with command ssh-keygen -t rsa. In case 1 I also set a passphrase. Move the id_rsa.pub to the server path /Users/<myServerUserName>/.ssh/ In this folder I execute cat id_rsa.pub > authorized_keys Making sure Remote Login isn't active, I now execute sudo /usr/sbin/sshd -d on the server. Back on the client I now type ssh -v -v -v <myServerUserName>@192.168.X.Y and get prompted to accept RSA key fingerprint. This is NOT the same fingerprint as the one from when I created the private/public key (should it be?). I accept. Depending on case: CASE 1: Client gets halted for password and the response is permission denied even though correct password is given. Back on the server I can read the error message I stated above for case 1: PAM: user account has expired... CASE 2: Client gets message Connection closed by 192.168.X.Y. Back on the server I can read the error message I stated above for case 2: Failed publickey... What could possibly cause this?

• Executing a git command using remote powershell results in a NativeCommmandError

  I am getting an error while executing a remote PowerShell script. From my local machine I am running a PowerShell script that uses Invoke-Command to cd into a directory on a remote Amazon Windows Server instance, and a subsequent Invoke-Command to execute script that lives on that server instance. The script on the server is trying to git clone a repository from GitHub. I can successfully do things in the server script like "ls" or even "git --version". However git clone, git pull, etc. result in the following error: Cloning into 'MyRepo'... + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (Cloning into 'MyRepo'...:String) [], RemoteException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NativeCommandError This is my first time using PowerShell or a Windows Server. Can anyone provide some direction on this problem. The client script: $s = new-pssession -computername $server -credential $user invoke-command -session $s -scriptblock { cd C:\Repos; ls } invoke-command -session $s -scriptblock { param ($repo, $branch) & '.\clone.ps1' -repository $repo -branch $branch} -ArgumentList $repository, $branch exit-pssession The server script: param([string]$repository = "repository", [string]$branch = "branch") git --version start-process -FilePath git -ArgumentList ("clone", "-b $branch https://github.com/MyGithub/$repository.git") -Wait I've changed the server script to use start process and it is no longer throwing the exception. It creates the new repository directory and the .git directory but doesn't write any of the files from the github repository. This smells like a permissions issue. Once again invoking the script manually (remote desktop into the amazon box and execute it from powershell) works like a charm.

• How can I assign DHCP leases from a script?

  I have an environment where there is one DHCP server servicing a number of different hosts/vlans. The switches are configured to forward the DHCP requests over (via ip-helper) and include information about the port (option 82). I'd like to take that information and translate it into an actual lease for the server. I don't think it's particularly feasible for me to pregenerate a list of available leases, but I should be able to determine an address for a lease as it comes in. Is there an DHCP server that can execute a script when it receives a request? (Note: I'm looking to assign the IP from the script, not have the DHCP server assign an IP then execute the script) Edit: So, ultimately I'm trying to provide DHCP/PXE services over a large number of distinct vlans. This is so we can do OS installs via PXE booting without having to have a separate PXE vlan. I've got the switch config down no problem, and I have the DHCP server recognizing option 82. I need a way to pull DHCP assignments from another system (this other system would know what subnet to use on what vlan), but I do not want to have to pregenerate a list of vlan:DHCP range pairs.

  I am setting up a spring mvc web application + hibernate jpa + maven from scratch using Eclipse Indigo. I am stuck in this error when doing a Maven build. All code: FullTrust Success Our application is running on three servers, two of them are on Server 2008 Web x64 while the third is running Server 2008 R2 Web x64, all have .NET 3.5 installed, no .NET 4.0 installations. The problem only occurs on the first two that are running 2008 non R2. Running depends.exe on all three servers gives equal results for the nonR2 servers: My DLL is shown as x86 (compiled as AnyCPU, running in x64 w3wp), all other modules show as x64. Missing IESHIMS.DLL and LINKINFO.DLL - both of these seem to be red herrings according to Google. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions: aspnet_regiis -ga [user] Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846816/iis7-failed-to-grant-minimum-permission-requests By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Temp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however. Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. Any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome! Also, I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008? Thanks!

• Problem deploying portlets on JBoss Portal 2.7.2: Not a canonical value

  I just downloaded the JBoss Portal Server 2.7.2 (JBoss Portal + JBoss AS 4.2.3 bundle to be precise) and tried deploying portlets just as the SimpleHelloWorld provided in the samples. The portlet gets deployed fine but when I put it on a page I get the following exception. I tried adding other Portlets as well (such as the booking MVC portelt supplied with Spring WebFlow dist) but the same problem happens. The problem happens when the new instances are created by me, example when i create a new instance of CMS Portlet, I get the same error. If I use an existing instance it works. If I deploy a portlet that creates an instance using the "portle-instances.xml" then it works fine, but creating additional instances using the Admin and deploying them on page fails due to the following error. What am I doing wrong?   Hello all! I have a Java / Spring MVC 3 application, using Hibernate and a MySQL database. In my controller, I have this source code: Set<ConstraintViolation<Person>> failures = validator.validate(p); if (failures.isEmpty()) { Project project = this.projectService.findProjectById(projectid); Person newPerson = this.personService.addPerson(p); Set<Person> persons = this.personService.getAllPersonsByProjectId(projectid); persons.add(newPerson); project.setPersons(persons); Set<ConstraintViolation<Project>> failures1 = validator.validate(project); if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { System.out.println("ERROR"); } else { System.out.println("NO ERROR"); } this.projectService.updateProject(project); return Collections.singletonMap("person", newPerson); } Project and Person are a many-to-many relation annotated with @manytomany and Project is the mapping owner. The new Person is added, but on the line with this.projectService.updateProject(project); I get an error. What it does it this in a Dao Hibernate implementation: public void updateProject(Project p) { SessionFactory sessionFactory = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory(); Session sess = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); Transaction tx = sess.beginTransaction(); sess.update(p); tx.commit(); } It failed on the line tx.commit();. My check with if (!failures1.isEmpty()) { tell me that there are nor errors in my project. So what's wrong here? And why there is a validation of my project? • Is it possible to convert this asp to asp.net?

  I have been tasked with sifting through the worst classic asp spaghetti i've ever come across. The script runs a series of recordsets in sequence, getting 1 record at a time. As the record is built it takes the id and passes it to the next loop, which gets data, and passes on the id to the next loop. It then continues in this manner and builds an unordered list, kicking out the required html as it goes. Here are my efforts so far: have a class delivering data via sqldatareaders and output these to nested repeaters (this failed due to not being able to loop and get the id) Have a datatable populated with all the required data, then datatable.select to filter it out. have 4 datareaders looping and building the ul arraylists (I couldnt get the id's to match up) Please can you suggest the best method (with a bit of sample code if possible) to go about doing this conversion? • NetworkOnMainThreadException while using AsyncTask

  Im making an app that uses the internet to retrive information. I get an NetworkOnMainThreadException as i tried to run it on 3.0 and above and have therefore tried to set it up using AsyncTask, but it still gives the exception and i don't know what is wrong. Oddly enough i read on this thread Android NetworkOnMainThreadException inside of AsyncTask that if you just removes the android:targetSdkVersion="10" statement from the manifest file it will be able to run. This works but i don't find it as the right solution to solve the problem this way. So if anyone can tell me what im doing wrong with the AsyncTask i will really appriciate it. Also if there is anybody that knows why removing the statement in the manifest makes it work, im really interested in that also. • Disable SSD in ASUS 900 running Ubuntu 9.10

  Recently I managed to completely mess up my ASUS 900, but I have no immediate desire to upgrade since it's only my travel laptop (and I'm waiting for a few months to see if anything interesting comes out). For now, though, I've hit an interesting problem. The 4GB SSD that is soldered onto the motherboard is broken. Since it's soldered on, there's really no hope of replacing it (I believe), so I've been solely running off the 16GB that is inserted into the mini pci-e slot. But since it can't read from the SSD it keeps giving me an error every time it tries to boot and read the ssd. Is there any way to either force Ubuntu to not check the drives on boot or disable the drive altogether, so that I don't have to sit through a 5 minute boot process each time I want to use the computer?

• JMeter Stress testing

  MAMP server hosting a Joomla instance. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on the best way to stress test the server and find it's breaking point on concurrent users etc. Currently I have setup a test plan which I have going to the home page, grabbing the index.php, css, js and all images and have run tests on 1 to 100 users and a varying number of loops. What I'd like to know is how do I determine at what number of concurrent requests or looping requests is a good way to gauge if my server can handle the proposed increase in traffic? What is a good KB/sec, Throughput, Average, Max, Min via the Aggregate Report and at what number of threads/loops etc? I have googled and have not found immediate answers to these questions and thought to come here. More or less I have just used this http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/jmeter_proxy_step_by_step.pdf to guide me and then I have been winging it in terms of Thread and Loop numbers. Any light shed on these subject would be much appreciated.

• Windows Explorer is blank

  I am using Windows 7 Utlimate x64. Once a week, or so, when I boot up n the morning and launch Windows Explorer it shows up blank, as the following screen shot show. Clicking on my Computer doesn't load anything. Interestingly, I can go the the Address bar at the top and type in a folder name. This brings up that folder's files and subfolders, but as I drill around the tree of folders on the left only shows the immediate folder and not its siblings. There's no plus icon to expand the folder, etc. My usual "solution" is to reboot, which typically brings everything back to normal, but this is a frustrating remedy. Any idea what's going on and how to fix it? Some Googling turned up this discussion, but the remedy was to uninstall a particular piece of software that I don't have installed (Virtual Clone Drive). • windows 2003 remote desktop fail connect after windows update

  I have a number of windows servers, both win2003, win2003r2 and win2003r2 64 bit. After installing windows updates on the machines and rebooting terminal services give me an immediate "not connect" message. The servers are running fine and you can connect via the physical machine. Once you reboot the box (with remote restart in some cases when it's not accessible) terminal services behaves itself and allows a connection. Whilst it's not a show stopper it is rather annoying when you can't see your box. Anyone know why this is or what the cause is?
