    I have xml of the format: <channel> <games> <game slot='1'> <id>Bric A Bloc</id> <title-text>BricABloc Hoorah</title-text> <link>Fruit Splat</link> </game> </games> </channel> I've parsed this xml using lxml.objectify, via: tree = objectify.parse(file) There will potentially be a number of <game>s underneath <games>. I understand that I can generate a list of <game> objects via: [ tree.games[0].game[0:4] ] My question is, what class are those objects and is there a function to print any object of whatever class these objects belong to?

  • Undead Windows 7 service

    I created a Windows 7 service in Visual Studio 2010. Test install crashed and left lots of debris: service shows in the list of services but will not start ('Referenced file does not exist'), is impossible to uninstall ('Action valid only for services that are installed') and is not shown in the Programs and Features aplet.   • Web framework recommendation for python (webservices, auth, cache, ...)

    Hi all, Googling for the past week, but cannot finally decide which python web framework would be right for me. The web app I'm about to develop would be almost completely "pure" html with js (jQuery). Server side would have to do the following: authentication session management caching web services (almost all the on page data would be pulled with jQuery through web services) secured web services (through some form of authentication; this is for remote accessing some of the web services though other web apps, desktop/mobile applications) If there is a good tutorial/guide/idea for how to do this in Django I would be most thankfull if someone could share it as I already have experience with it. The thing that made me start thinking about other frameworks is Django's built in ORM. I know I could swap it with SQLAlchemy, but wouldn't go down that road if I'm not sure all the rest of the requirements is supported. Thanks all in advance.

    I am generating reports in HTML formats, and want to print them automatically using Qt (qt has a webkit based browser, and one can render its contents to a PDF file). I want to position the elements of the report depending on the target page size. For that i need to access the size of the paper (preferably in pixels). Since i am using webkit, it has all the latest html5 and css3 features. is there some api available to access printed page properties inside javascript. for example, would be nice to write: window.print_paper.width or window.print_paper.height Thank you in advance

I mean this code doesn't work as it doesn't print cp[0].

EDIT1: What i'm trying to do is write to kernel using the proc file-system. The print code is static int proc_fractel_config_write(struct file *file, const char *argbuf, unsigned long count, void *data) { printk(KERN_DEBUG "writing fractel config\n"); ... In kern.log when I see the following message when i try to overwrite the file /proc/net/madwifi/ath1/fractel_config (with varying time of course).   • C++ - Print Out Objects From Set

    If I have a C++ set, declaration set personList; with iterator, set::const_iterator location; how can I print out the contents of the set? They are all person objects, and I have overridden the operator<< for Person. The line that errors is: cout << location and it's in a basic for loop. Netbeans gives the following error: proj.cpp:78: error: no match for ‘operator<<’ in ‘std::cout << location’ so it looks like it wants an override for the iterator's <<. Basically, I am taking objects that used to be stored in an array format, but are now in a set. What is the equivalent to cout << array[i] for sets?

  • Perl: print back to beginning of line

    Okay, so what I'm trying to do is print out a percentage complete to my command line, now, I would like this to simply 'update' the number shown on the screen. So somehow go back to the beginning of the line and change it. For example the windows relog.exe command-line utility (which can convert a .blg file to a .csv file) does this. If you run it, it will display a percentage complete. Now this is probably written in C++. I don't know if this is possible in perl as well ?

    Hi, I am looking for a fancy way the print individual work items in TFS. OK ... maybe not the work item directly but I need to produce printable forms based on data on a work item. And by fancy I mean: header, footer, formatting, tables maybe ... stuff like that. No, I am not trying to print a list of work items, read carefully, I need an output based on a single work item. For those who are wondering "Why on earth do you need that?" I should say: We are keeping everything on TFS around here. (For now only software development stuff, but I am thinking bigger...) Sometimes somethings need to be on hard copy, to be signed for instance, and that is why I need printable forms.

  • design function: underlying structure to store list of results for print to file

    is this a good approach to print a list of items to csv file with a sublist attached to each item. The gist of the function is when an item is found that does not exactly macth then a list of close matches is generated - this works now writing out one list at a time to a command window. For export to a csv file I think all the lists must be generated, stored and then written at once. Right now I use a struct to store the attributes printed, each struct is an item on the list - these structs are then added to a sorted stack and when printed they pop off into write out. Is a stack of stacks of structs a good design?

Here is how I am doing it: function numberWithCommas(x) { x = x.toString(); var pattern = /(-?\d+)(\d{3})/; while (pattern.test(x)) x = x.replace(pattern, "$1,$2"); return x; } I am wondering if anyone has a simpler or more elegant idea. It would be nice if it works with floats also, but that is not necessary. It does not need to be locale-specific to decide between periods and commas.

  • x86 Assembly - printf doesn't print without "\n"

I'm going through the book "Programming from the Ground Up" and am working with using libraries. printf is working just fine so long as I include a "\n" in the string, but without it it will print absolutely nothing. Any idea why this happens? Code: .section .data my_str: .ascii "Jimmy Joe is %d years old!\n\0" my_num: .long 76 .section .text .globl _start _start: pushl my_num pushl $my_str call printf movl $1, %eax movl $0, %ebx int $0x80 Also, when I use -m elf_i386 for 32-bit mode and -dynamic-linker /lib/ld-linux.so.2 -lc to link, I get the warning ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib64/libc.so when searching for -lc If that makes any difference, or if anybody has any suggestions as to how to have it load the 32-bit library directly.     I'd like to automatically pretty-print (indentation, mostly) the HTML output that my PHP scripts generate. I've been messing with Tidy, but have found that in its efforts to validate and clean my code, Tidy is changing way too much. I know Tidy's intentions are good but I'm really just looking for an HTML beautifier. Is there a simpler library out there that can run in PHP and just do the pretty-printing? Or, is there a way to configure Tidy to skip all the validation stuff and just beautify?

I'd be happy with any number of methods: exporting files to a pdf format and printing from there, exporting as a text document of some sort and printing from there, or just simply showing the print dialog from the web application itself. I know there are ways to do this in C#, but the c# code-behind is different for many things in Silverlight applications and I can't seem to find anything that will work.     Trying to learn Scala using the Programming in Scala book and they have a very basic example for reading lines from a file. I'm trying to expand on it and read a file line by line, look for a certain phrase, then print the next 6 lines following that line if it finds the line. I can write the script easily enough in something like java or Perl but I have no idea how to do it in Scala (probably because I'm not very familiar with the language yet...)   • PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout While Attempting to PXE Boot from Windows Deployment Services

    I'm running Windows Deployment Services on Windows Server 2008 R2 on top of an ESX 4.0 box. This is the only function of this VM instance, although it had previously functioned as an AD Domain Controller. My DHCP server is running on our primary Domain Controller, which is also Server 2008 R2, but running on metal. Everything was working perfectly until we recently had our backup generator fail during a power outage, causing all of our servers and networking equipment to lose power for a period of time. When we brought all of our equipment back up, everything was working as expected except for WDS. Our network is split up into several different vlans. Now, depending on which vlan the client computer is on, it's behaving differently when attempting to PXE boot into WDS. Our servers are located on the 10.55.x.x vlan, which, due to the nature of it, has no DHCP server active in it. The first computer we plugged in happened to be in the 10.99.x.x vlan, which is supposed to be reserved for network management devices (i.e. switches), but we've been using it occasionally otherwise. That computer gave us PXE-E11 ARP Timeout errors. When we moved to a different computer on the 10.19.x.x vlan (for general purpose use), it finally gets an IP from DHCP, but it presents us with a very stumping PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout error. Before the power outage, it didn't matter which vlan a device was on; it would PXE boot and image just fine. I've made no changes to anything server-side. Everything is configured exactly the same way it was on my WDS and DHCP servers as before the power outage. I've tried several different computers, including different models. All of this, combined with the quirky behavior depending on the vlan, makes me think something went wrong in one or more of our switches, probably because of the power outage. Unfortunately, I'm no network guy, and I know very little about how to configure our switches properly. Is this an issue with switches, etc? If so, how can I fix it? Is there some magical option I'm not aware of? Does anybody out there have any hunches? I've pretty much exhausted my ideas. Our main switch is an HP Procurve 5406. We also have 3x HP Procurve 4208 switches. The ESX Server is an HP ProLiant DL380 G6. The WDS VM is currently using the VMXNET3 network adaptor, but we've also tried the E1000 adaptor.
