• Activerecord-PostgreSQL Adapter Error

  When running "rake db:migrate", i receive the following error: Please install the postgresql adapter: gem install activerecord-postgresql-adapter (dlopen(/Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/pg-0.9.0/lib/pg_ext.bundle, 9): no suitable image found. Did find: /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/pg-0.9.0/lib/pg_ext.bundle: mach-o, but wrong architecture - /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/pg-0.9.0/lib/pg_ext.bundle) Postgres 8.4.4 installed using the pre-built image file. Then ran sudo gem install pg to install pg-0.9.0 Config/database.yml: development: adapter: postgresql Does anyone know what the problem is?

• QT creator/qt embedded widget demo problem

  I have downloaded the source code for the embedded widget demos from nokia and tried to get it to compile--I end up with the following error: Compiler (mingw32) message : In file included from ../../src/basicgraph/qtbasicgraph.cpp:9: ../../src/basicgraph/qtbasicgraph.h:14:17: QtGui: No such file or directory The offending line is #include <QtGui> QT creator 1.2.0, QT 2009.03 I have checked paths, etc, and all seems fine. I have checked to make sure that I have implicitly included QT += gui and that I have NOT included QT -= gui anywhere in the .pro and .pri files. After making no changes, I used VS2005 and the appropriate commercial version of QT 4.4.3, and it compiled and ran fine I have googled the error, and have found others asking similar questions (but not here) but no posted answers...so I would appreciate any help. thanks Jonathan Howland

• Strange TFS Source Repository Problem

  We have a web project we are working on using TFS and we are kind of new to it (TFS). One of my teammates is unable to see a particular page (three associated files) in the IDE. To the rest of us, it looks as though it is checked out to her. When she ran the unlock command through the console, it returned that the files for the page were not locked. Yet we are unable to check it out due to her apparently having a lock. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

• How to extend WPF hit testing zone for a Path object.

  Wpf hit testing is pretty good but the only method I found to extend the hit zone is to put a transparent padding area around your object. I can't find any method to add a transparent area arround a Path object. The path is very thin and I would like to enable hit testing if the user clicks near the path. I can't find any method to extend the path object with a transparent area like the image below : I tried to used a partially transparent stroke brush but I ran into the problem described here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1412833/how-can-i-draw-a-soft-line-in-wpf-presumably-using-a-lineargradientbrush I also tried to put an adorner over my line but because of WPF anti-aliasing algorithms, the position is way off when I zoom in my canvas and interfere with other objects hit-testing in a bad way. • django auth_views.login and redirects

  Hello I could not understand why after logging in from address: http://localhost/en/accounts/login/?next=/en/test/ I get refirected to http://localhost/accounts/profile/ So i ran search in django files and found that this address is the default LOGIN_REDIRECT_URL for django. What i did not understand is why it gets redirected to there. I guessed, that my login form's post address should be : /accounts/login/?next=/en/test/ instead of /accounts/login/ I wrote it into template and it worked. But since the redirect url changes dynamically, how can i make this login post forms address change dynamically too? is there a templatetag for that or something? Alan

• Getting black images with selenium.captureScreenshot

  I'm executing selenium tests with testng, that are started on a remote system with Selenium RC via hudson (with ssh connection). The remote system is windows xp with MKS Toolkit installed, hence ssh. Tests are NOT executed as a windows service. I've tried using both captureScreenshot and captureEntirePageScreenshot methods. The first one always produces a black image. The second one creates the correct screen shot but it only works on Firefox and our tests usually pass on Firefox and fail in other browsers, so it is crucial to capture screen shots for the other browsers (mainly IE and Safari). The tests are ran in parallel, with many browser windows open at the same time. I'm not certain if this is what's causing the problem. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

  Hi, I am using Django ORM in my python script in a decoupled fashion i.e. it's not running in context of a normal Django Project. I am also using the multi processing module. And different process in turn are making queries. The process ran successfully for an hr and exited with this message "IOError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe" Upon futhur diagnosis and debugging this error pops up when I call save() on the model instance. I am wondering Is Django ORM Process save ? Why would this error arise else ? Cheers Ankur

  I am just getting started with NHaml and ran into a snag. This is my application.haml file: %html %head %title = Get Some Data %link{ href="/media/css/styles.css", rel="Stylesheet", type="text/css" } %body %div.page %h1 = Get Some Data _ When I try to view in a browser it throw the following error: NHaml.Exceptions.SyntaxException: The attribute ',' is occurs twice. If I remove the line beginning with %link it works fine. What am I doing wrong? • TypeInitializationException When Getting an NHibernate Session

  I’ve run into what appears to be an NHibernate config problem. Basically, I ran up a simple proof of concept persistence integration test using NUnit, the test simply querys an Oracle database and successfully returns the last record received by the underlying table. However, when the assemblies are taken out of the NUnit test environment and deployed as they would be for an actual application build, my call for an NHibernate session results in a ‘TypeInitializationException’ whilst executing the code line: sessionFactory = New Configuration().Configure().BuildSessionFactory() The application is a vb.net console app running against an Oracle 9.2 database, using a ‘coding framework’ published on the web by Bill McCafferty entitled 'NHibernate Best Practices with ASP.NET' (pre S#harp Architecture). • Asynchronous Silverlight WCF callback

  I've created my own WCF service and I've successfully been able to talk to it via my Silverlight client. I ran into an interesting problem on my asynchronous callbacks though. When my callback is invoked, I can't update any UI controls with the dreaded invalid cross thread access Here's what my callback function looks like private void GetTimeCallBack( object sender, Talk.ClientBase<IService>.ClientEventArgs e ) { lblDisplay.Text = e.Object.ToString(); } A quick google search showed me that I have to do this instead. private void GetTimeCallBack( object sender, Talk.ClientBase<IService>.ClientEventArgs e ) { Dispatcher.BeginInvoke( () => lblDisplay.Text = e.Object.ToString() ); } Now everything works fine, but I wasn't expecting my callback to be running on a different thread. Will I always have to use the Dispatcher class in order to modify anything within my class or is this just limited to UI elements? I've not familiar with the Dispatcher class at all so I'm looking to understand it more.

• How to free port 80 for xampp to work

  Please help, I used to be running xampp and it was working perfectly. Then I wanted to try something out and I ran IIS instead of xampp. Now I want to go back to using xampp, but whenever I try to run the apache server it says: Busy... Apache started [port 80] If I go to http://localhost/ then it just says that it can't establish a connection to the server. I have turned off IIS, so I don't see why it shouldn't work. Any suggestions?

• Objective-C : Trouble with file download

  I ran in a bit of trouble downloading files with Objective-C. I use the download decideDestinationWithSuggestedFilename from Apples documentation page. http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/cocoa/conceptual/URLLoadingSystem/Tasks/UsingNSURLDownload.html As long as I want to download just one file it works fine but I want to download an array for files one by one. The problem starts with the second file. Right now my code will trigger the next download itself from the downloadDidFinish Method. Then I will get an unrecognized selector sent to instance error. For me it looks like the NSURLDownload that just finished the download is still in use somehow. Release is called but the must be a problem. If I just put an NSBeep in the downloadDidFinished Method and trigger the next file download manually it works fine. Looks like I have to wait a while till I can start the next download. I know this question is a bit vague but maybe someone got an idea.

  i just purchased a new laptop and had some issues with it... I called tech support and they had me run this command in cmd prompt by right clicking the cmd icon and selecting "run as administrator" with root C:\windows\system32: "Net user administrator /active:no" after it was determined that it didn't fix the issue we ran this code "Net user administrator /active:yes" i then rebooted..and was asked for my windows login for my user account "Rees" as usual.. however ALL my settings where gone (including my desktop files) as though it was the first time I booted up. WHAT in the world happened with this command?? I desperately NEED my user accounts and files back to how they were!! (running windows 7) Please help!

• WPF Localization Using LocBaml: Handling Special Symbols

  Hello, I’m dealing with localization of a WPF application (Visual Studio 2010 under Windows 7). I’ve just accomplished the whole process of localization using LocBaml tool, as explained in WPF Globalization and Localization Overview and in related posts. The target language is Italian (it-IT culture). When I run my application in Italian, I have a problem with interpretation of the special symbols of © and ™: they both appear there as a white question sign upon a black diamond-shaped background. The symbols © and ™ appear identically in both English and Italian CSV-files. I tried also the special letters (such as È, à etc.) that are present in Italian but absent in English, and they also are interpreted as the above diamond-shaped question. In Region and Language, I changed the system locale to Italian[Italy], restarted the PC and ran the application again – this helped me in the past to cope with a similar problem in localization of C++ applications under Windows XP, but now it didn’t help, either. Has somebody any idea what is the catch here?

• Reading multiple files with PHPExcel

  Hello there. I just recently started using this library (the one from CodePlex), but I ran into some issues. My goal is to use it so I can process some data from multiple Excel files, and send such data to a database, per file. I'm doing something like: foreach( $file_list as $file ) { $book = PHPExcel_IOFactory::load( $path . $file ); } So, inside the foreach I'm (for now) just showing the data to the user, but after five files, I get a memory error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 50688 bytes) in /var/www/test/classes/PHPExcel/Shared/OLERead.php on line 76 Is there a way to __destruct the object after each file is loaded, so space is reserved (made free) for the next file, instead of accumulating it, or do you rather know of a reason and work-around for this? Please let me know any suggestions you have. Thanks in advance.

• Problem in using svn and buildix

  Hi all I ran into a problem in using svn and buildix. I have a project created in svn as well as in cruise control which was working fine. Since yesterday whenever I commit changes into svn they are successfully commited but buildix is not able to pick up those changes, Normally I used to run 'svn update' whenever this problem occurs but now this is not helping for this project. When I try to run 'svn update', I get Skipped '.' and when I try to run 'svn cleanup', I get svn: '.' is not a working copy directory I took the advice of some one and deleted the folder .svn in my project but that did not help. • How do I display a local html file in a UIWebView?

  I have a relatively simple question that I cannot seem to find the answer for. While doing the Google Maps Java API Tutorials, I ran into a problem. I can load an HTML file from the web, but when I try it locally, it just displays the contents of the file instead of running the script. Here's what works: NSString *url = @"http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/v3/examples/geocoding-simple.html"; NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url]]; [webView loadRequest:request]; I want to store the HTML file locally and run it from the device itself, so I tried: [webView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"geocoding-simple" ofType:@"html"]isDirectory:NO]]]; and it just displayed the contents of the file. • Grails 1.2.1 with Spring 3.0.0 dependency problem under Jetty

  Just moved to Grails 1.2.1 (used 1.1.1 before). Changed application.properties, ran grails upgrade, fixed BuildConfig and Bootstrap - everything works just fine from grails console. However, getting a problem when deploy packaged war under jetty 6.1.22: 1581 [main] ERROR org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.access.BootstrapException: Error executing bootstraps; nested exception is java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.codehaus.groovy.grails.commons.spring.ReloadAwareAutowireCapableBeanFactory.setParameterNameDiscoverer(Lorg/springframework/core/ParameterNameDiscoverer;)V My project is built with maven2. I researched the war dependencies and see that both spring 2.5.6 and 3.0.0.RELEASE are used there. I then tried to suppress use of spring 2.5.6 and got a problem with Acegi plugin (using version 0.5.1): 2010-03-10 21:06:56.440:WARN::Nested in org.springframework.beans.factory.access.BootstrapException: Error executing bootstraps; nested exception is java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.web.context.ConfigurableWebApplicationContext.setId(Ljava/lang/String;)V Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• regex to get current page or directory name?

  I am trying to get the page or last directory name from a url for example if the url is: http://www.example.com/dir/ i want it to return dir or if the passed url is http://www.example.com/page.php I want it to return page Notice I do not want the trailing slash or file extension. I tried this: $regex = "/.*\.(com|gov|org|net|mil|edu)/([a-z_\-]+).*/i"; $name = strtolower(preg_replace($regex,"$2",$url)); I ran this regex in PHP and it returned nothing. (however I tested the same regex in ActionScript and it worked!) So what am I doing wrong here, how do I get what I want? Thanks!!!

  Hi, I checked out the trunk of my plugin from the Grails svn repo, made some changes, incremented the version number to 0.2.1, then ran release-plugin. Enter a SVN commit message: Fixed bug with controller dependency version and upgraded to grails 1.2.2 Committing code. Please wait... Failed to stat working directory: svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: Authentication required for '<https://svn.codehaus.org:443> grails-plugins primary Subversion repository' Application context shutting down... Application context shutdown. It's possible that my password is not correct, but I'm pretty sure it is. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and is there some way I can verify that the password I'm using is correct?

  I have a C# application that uses XML digital signatures to sign license files. I've used the standard Microsoft approach described here. I'm porting the application to the MAC and need to verify the signature. My general question is how best to do this? This is what I've done: I've used macport to install Aleksey's xmlsec1 library. Used the Chilkat library to convert my XML public key to a PEM file Chilkat.PublicKey pubKey = new Chilkat.PublicKey(); pubKey.LoadXml(publicKeyXml); pubKey.SaveOpenSslPemFile("publicKey.pem"); Compiled and ran the alekseys sample program. See (http://www.aleksey.com/xmlsec/api/xmlsec-verify-with-key.html) to verify an XML dsig. Result: my license files fail to validate. The call to xmlSecDSigCtxVerify fails with status=unknown. Now for my specific question: What can I do next? Geoff

• How do I fix the python installer's 'missing dependencies' error?

  Background: running ubuntu So I downloaded the python "install from source" tarball. I ran make and got this error message: Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were not found: _aaa _bbb _ccc ... _jjj _kkk I google'd and found one solution is to: MANUALLY map all the string names from the error message to something in the apt-get repo MANUALLY call "sudo apt-get AAA BBB ... JJJ KKK" to get all the libraries I can easily do all of that. But I have no way of knowing what is the right version libraries I need to get! How in the world am I supposed to fix the missing dependencies if I don't know what the exact missing dependency is?

• Nunit test project won't compile under mono

  Question: I am implementing an OpenSource version of Microbosoft Sync framework, [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...isplaylang=en] (Checkout: git clone [email protected]:quandary/SyncFramework.git) but I ran into a unittest problem. I added a nunit test-project to the C# project, but it's not compiling... I created the project on Windows, and there it compiled well. On Linux, the project compiles well, but compiling the unittest, I always get: Assembly 'nunit.framework, Version=2.5.5.10112, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=96d09 My problem now is I installed nunit and added a reference to it (on Linux with mono), but I still get this message, I take out 'require specific version', and I still get this message... I also removed the windows reference to nunit, but still no change.
