• Django template can't see CSS files

  I'm building a django app and I can't get the templates to see the CSS files... My settings.py file looks like: MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(__file__)), 'media') MEDIA_URL = '/media/' I've got the CSS files in /mysite/media/css/ and the template code contains: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/site_base.css" />` then, in the url.py file I have: # DEVELOPMENT ONLY (r'^media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': '/media'}), but the development server serves the plain html (without styles). What am I doing wrong?

• changing src reference based upon https

  I'm adding a facebook comment widget to a website. I'm placing this widget in a file that is included on everypage. The navigation is relatively linked so it switches back and forth from http and https. But for some reason the comment widget only shows up if both the src linked file and webpage is secure or both the src linked file and webpage is NOT secure. The widget does not display of the src file is secure and the webpage is not secure. So... • mod_xsendfile serving download.php and not the filename

  Hello, The apache mod_xsendfile is a good solution for what I want but its not working properly. In firefox it serves the file but as download.php (name of the file with the code in). In safari and chrome it serves an empty file. • Adding Multiline html content using javascript

  Hi, I have created a usercontrol and I want to put its generated html using a javascript file in a webpage. But couldnt do so. Like <script src='file.aspx'></script> should add the html from the usercontrol to the container div. The file "file.aspx" has its content-type set to "text/javascript". And using LoadControl() method I am loading the usercontrol, and then using its RenderControl method, I am able to get its generated html. But I couldnt show it up in the webpage. But I am able to add single line html content , but multiline consumed my whole day :( .

Until I save that function in a separate .js file and load in the main index file as well as all other files from where I need to trigger that function even though these internal files are going to loaded into the the first main file . • Changing where a resource is pulled during runtime?

  I have a website that goes out to multiple clients. Sometimes a client will insist on minor changes. For reasons beyond my control, I have to comply no matter how minor the request. Usually this isn't a problem, I would just create a client specific version of the user control or page and overwrite the default one during build time or make a configuration setting to handle it. Now that I am localizing the site, I'm curious about the best way to go about making minor wording changes. Lets say I have a resource file called Resources.resx that has 300 resources in it. It has a resource called Continue. English value is "Continue", the French value is "Continuez". Now one client, for whatever reason, wants it to say "Next" and "Après" and the others want to keep it the same. What is the best way to accomodate a request like this? (This is just a simple example). The only two ways I can think of is to Create another Resources.resx specific to the client, and replace the .dll during build time. Since I'd be completely replacing the dll, the new resource file would have to contain all 300 strings. The obvious problem being that I now have 2 resource files, each with 300 strings to maintain. Create a custom user control/page and change it to use a custom resource file. e.g. SignIn.ascx would be replaced during the build and it would pull its resources from ClientName.resx instead of Resources.resx. Are there any other things I could try? Is there any way to change it so that the application will always look in a ClientResources.resx file for the overridden values before actually look at the specified resource file?

• Parallel programming in C#

  I'm interested in learning about parallel programming in C#.NET (not like everything there is to know, but the basics and maybe some good-practices), therefore I've decided to reprogram an old program of mine which is called ImageSyncer. ImageSyncer is a really simple program, all it does is to scan trough a folder and find all files ending with .jpg, then it calculates the new position of the files based on the date they were taken (parsing of xif-data, or whatever it's called). After a location has been generated the program checks for any existing files at that location, and if one exist it looks at the last write-time of both the file to copy, and the file "in its way". If those are equal the file is skipped. If not a md5 checksum of both files is created and matched. If there is no match the file to be copied is given a new location to be copied to (for instance, if it was to be copied to "C:\test.jpg" it's copied to "C:\test(1).jpg" instead). The result of this operation is populated into a queue of a struct-type that contains two strings, the original file and the position to copy it to. Then that queue is iterated over untill it is empty and the files are copied. In other words there are 4 operations: 1. Scan directory for jpegs 2. Parse files for xif and generate copy-location 3. Check for file existence and if needed generate new path 4. Copy files And so I want to rewrite this program to make it paralell and be able to perform several of the operations at the same time, and I was wondering what the best way to achieve that would be. I've came up with two different models I can think of, but neither one of them might be any good at all. The first one is to parallelize the 4 steps of the old program, so that when step one is to be executed it's done on several threads, and when the entire of step 1 is finished step 2 is began. The other one (which I find more interesting because I have no idea of how to do that) is to create a sort of worker and consumer model, so when a thread is finished with step 1 another one takes over and performs step 2 at that object (or something like that). But as said, I don't know if any of these are any good solutions. Also, I don't know much about parallel programming at all. I know how to make a thread, and how to make it perform a function taking in an object as its only parameter, and I've also used the BackgroundWorker-class on one occasion, but I'm not that familiar with any of them. Any input would be appreciated.

  I am using the ps2pdf14 utility that ships with GhostScript, and I am having a problem with fonts. It does not seem to matter what instructions I pass to the command, it insists on subsetting any fonts it finds in the source document. e.g -dPDFSETTINGS#/prepress -dEmbedAllFonts#true -dSubsetFonts#false -dMaxSubsetPct#0 Note that the # is because the command is running on windows, it is the same as =. If anyone has any idea how to tell ps2pdf not to subset fonts, I would be very greatful. Thanks --------------------------Notes ------------------------------------------ The source file is a pdf containing embedded fonts, so it is the fonts already embedded in the source file, that I need to prevent being subset in the destination file. Currently all source file embedded fonts are subset, in some cases this is not apparent from the font name, i.e it contains no hash, and appears at first glance to be the full font, however the widths array has been subset in all cases.

  Hi, I am trying to import an outlook PST file to my application running on Mac OS X. The PST file consists of contacts created in Outlook. The contacts have X509 certificates added to them. The problem I am facing is ASN decoding of the certificate fails. I have read somewhere that there is extra data before and after the certificate referred by PR_USER_X509_CERTIFICATE in the PST file.   I'm trying to implement a Singleton in Tomcat 6.24 on Linux with x86_64 OpenJDK 1.6. My application is just a bunch of JSPs and some static content and the JSPs make calls to my Java code. I finally figured out if I exported my code as a jar and put it in $CATALINA_HOME/lib then there was only one instance, but this is not an elegant solution. I've been googling for hours, but I haven't come up with anything yet. I'm wondering if there is some other solution. Currently I'm not precompling my JSPs, could this be part of the problem? Could I write a servlet to ensure the singleton is created? If so how do I do that?

• JMeter CSV Data Set is corrupting Japanese strings stored as proper UTF-8, I get Question Marks instead

  I read in search terms from a simple text file to send to a search engine. It works fine in English, but gives me ???? for any Japanese text. Text with mixed English and Japanese does show the English text, so I know it's reading it. What I'm seeing: Input text: Snow Leopard ??????????????? Turns into: Snow Leopard ??????????????? This is in my POST field of an HTTP. If I set JMeter to encode the data, it just puts in the percent sequence for question marks. Interesting note: In the example above there are 15 Japanese characters, and then 15 question marks, so at some point it's being seen as full characters and not just bytes. About the Data: The CSV file is very simple in structure. There's only one field / one column, which I name TERM, and later use as ${TERM} I don't really need full CSV because it's only one string per line. There's no commas or quotes. When I run the Unix "file" command on the file, it says UTF-8 text. I've also verified it in command line and graphical mode on two machines. JMeter CSV Dataset Config: Filename: japanese-searches.csv File encoding: UTF-8 (also tried without) Variable names: TERM Delimiter: , Allow Quoted Data: False (I also tried True, different, but still wrong) Recycle at EOF: True Stop at EOF: False Staring mode: All threads A few things I've tried: Tried Allow quoted Data. It changed to other strange characters. -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 Tried encoding the POST, but it just turned into a bunch of %nn for question marks And I'm not sure how "debug" just after the each line of the CSV is read in. I think it's corrupted right away, but I'm not sure. If it's only mangled when I reference it, then instead of ${TERM} perhaps there's some other "to bytes" function call. I'll start checking into that. I haven't done anything with the JMeter functions yet.

  I have a table that catalogs selected files from multiple sources. I want to record whether a file is a duplicate of a previously cataloged file at the time the new file is cataloged. I have a column in my table (“primary_duplicate”) to record each entry as ‘P’ (primary) or ‘D’ (duplicate). I would like to provide a Default Binding for this column that would check for other occurrences of this file (i.e. name, length, timestamp) at the time the new file is being recorded. I have created a function that performs this check (see “GetPrimaryDuplicate” below). But I don’t know how to bind this function which requires three parameters to the table’s “primary_duplicate” column as its Default Binding. I would like to avoid using a trigger. I currently have a stored procedure used to insert new records that performs this check. But I would like to ensure that the flag is set correctly if an insert is performed outside of this stored procedure. How can I call this function with values from the row that is being inserted? • How can I store large amount of data from a database to XML (memory problem)?

  First, I had a problem with getting the data from the Database, it took too much memory and failed. I've set -Xmx1500M and I'm using scrolling ResultSet so that was taken care of. Now I need to make an XML from the data, but I can't put it in one file. I thought about trying to write to a file, closing it, then opening, but that wouldn't get me much since I'd have to load the file to memory when I open it. P.S. If there's a better way to release the Builder, do let me know :)

  I have translated the MailChimp provided MailChimp List Subscribe Form plugin for wordpress. I used poEdit to edit. At wp-config.php I have language set as ar_SA. Which works for the themes I have used in two Bilingual sites. But the mo file had to be renamed to ar.mo I got two problems: While updating the catalog poEdit crashes. But I could save the .po and generated .mo successfully. The translated .mo doesn't appear for the confirmation success or error messages through the Ajax calls which its supposed to. • How come, diffrent text files become diffrent sizes after compression ?

  I have file of some random text size = 27 gb and after compression it becomes 40 mb or so. And a 3.5 GB sql file become 45 Mb after compression. But a 109 mb text file become 72 mb after compression so what can be wrong with it. Why so less compressed, it must 10 mb or so , or i am missing something . All files as i can see is English text only and and some grammar symbols (/ , . - = + etc) Can you tell why ? If not can you tell how can i super compress a text file ? I can code in PHP , np in that.

  Hi all, For my PHP & mySQL based application, I am trying to buy website hosting from a host who does not have a limit on the number of files I carry in my hosting account. Almost all the websites have a common limit of 50,000 files (some websites call it 50,000 nodes). The rest(to the extent of my search) are not even close. I have gone through the various websites, Googled lot of information, have spoken with the customer service of the hosting companies and they said that they have a limit of 50,000 files and that's why they call it the LIMIT. Now I have my application, which is a kind of social networking website, where people can upload various files of varying file size. So say if 50,000 users were to join the website and upload 1 file each, the limit of 50,000 will be reached very easily and my 50,001 customer will start facing file upload problems (& so will my account). So I would like to know if there's any website hosting services that do NOT levy such restrictions. In summary, I need the following options: No maximum file limit (more than 50,000 files in account). No maximum file upload limit in server setting (10MB, 12MB, 15MB, 20MB, etc.). Ability to upload files of various types (zip, flv, jg, png, etc.). Ability to stream Audio and Video (live audio & video not necessary). Access to .htaccess Access to php.ini, my.cnf or my.ini (this would be a plus) Supports SSL. Provides dedicated hosting(& IP) as well. Monthly payments without contracts are a plus. Solution needs to be JScript classic ASP. I am reading a file from a remote server and I want to process that (binary) file on my server and spit the results back to the client as XML.
