    Hi, I need a profiler that is able to measure performance of web service execition. Our application has several layers and ideally I would like to be able to dive into each web service request and see how much time was spent in each layer (server, sql server, etc...) Is there a tool that can help detect where are the bottlenecks ? Is that something that can be done using VS Team System Test Edition ?

  • Linq To Text Files

    Hi All I have a Text File (Sorry, I'm not allowed to work on XML files :(), and it includes customer records. Each text file looks like: Account_ID: 98734BLAH9873 User Name: something_85 First Name: ILove Last Name: XML Age: 209 etc... And I need to be able to use LINQ to get the data from these text files and just store them in memory. I have seen many Linq to SQL, Linq to BLAH but nothing for Linq to Text. Can someone please help me out abit? Thank you

    Hi, I am doing some unit testing for a DAO that works with postgresql. Some of the SQL queries that my DAO uses involve the DATE function. Is there an in-memory database that supports functions similar to the ones that postgresql does? Currently I am looking for support for the DATE function however, I obviously can see myself using other functions in the future.

    I want to generate Entity Framework 4.0 classes from a (legacy) database from a command line, but I have 2 transformations I want: Tables/columns are lowerCamelCase and I want my classes/members to be UpperCamelCase. I want to suffix my classes with "Dto". Any idea how this might be accomplished? I'm a total newbie to EF, but I have a decent understanding of Linq to Sql and was able to accomplish the same task by doing: sqlmetal - dbml - xml mapping file and .cs file.

How do I: A) access the bound text box in the form view template? Something like Text1.text=formview1.customername.text (that doesn't work but that's the kinda thing) B) access the database field in the table that the sqlsource connects to to feed the formview Really appreciate the help.     I have some statistics I need to report on a monthly basis. I need my query to return 0's for statistics which aren't there. The only way I know to do this is to use SQL to generate a list of days within the specified time period and LEFT JOIN the statistic data that I need to report on. Problem is.... I've never not selected from a table like that... how do I do that?

    I have an application with existing data, that has Zero in the date column. When I look at it from sqlplus I see: 00-DECEMB when I use the dump function on this column, I Get: Typ=12 Len=7: 100,100,0,0,1,1,1 I need to work with the existing data from .Net (no changes to the data,or the data structure or even existing sql statements) How the hack do I read this value, or write it. The db version varies, from 8 to 11. Help would be appreciated

    I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1. What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data? As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)
