  • Can we use spring FTL based form validations with any controller other than SimpleFormController

    - by Adhir Aima
    Hi, Because of some design specification we have to extend all controllers in spring MVC from a class that extends AbstractCommandController. I am trying to include the spring FTL based form validations in my FTL file, but it gives me an error like Method public org.springframework.web.servlet.support.BindStatus org.springframework.web.servlet.support.RequestContext.getBindStatus(java.lang.String) throws java.lang.IllegalStateException threw an exception when invoked on org.springframework.web.servlet.support.RequestContext@b05cd7 with arguments of types [java.lang.String,] The problematic instruction: == assignment: status=springMacroRequestContext.getBindStatus(path) [on line 120, column 9 in spring.ftl] in user-directive spring.bind [on line 47, column 33 in myProfile.ftl] Java backtrace for programmers: freemarker.template.TemplateModelException: Method public org.springframework.web.servlet.support.BindStatus org.springframework.web.servlet.support.RequestContext.getBindStatus(java.lang.String) throws java.lang.IllegalStateException threw an exception when invoked on org.springframework.web.servlet.support.RequestContext@b05cd7 with arguments of types [java.lang.String,] I have put the command name properly in the controller class and in the controller class, neither the specified name nor the default "command" works. Some help please. And would be much appreciated if it comes with an example. Thanks in advance, Adhir Aima

  • Shorten array length once element is remove in Java.

    - by lupin
    Note: Following is my homework/assignment, feel free not to answer if you will. I want to delete/remove an element from an String array(Set) basic, I'm not allowed to use Collections..etc. Now I have this: void remove(String newValue) { for ( int i = 0; i < setElements.length; i++) { if ( setElements[i] == newValue ) { setElements[i] = ""; } } } I does what I want as it remove the element from an array but it doesn't shorten the length. The following is the output, basically it remove the element indexed #1. D:\javaprojects>java SetsDemo Enter string element to be added A You entered A Set size is: 5 Member elements on index: 0 A Member elements on index: 1 b Member elements on index: 2 hello Member elements on index: 3 world Member elements on index: 4 six Set size is: 5 Member elements on index: 0 A Member elements on index: 1 Member elements on index: 2 hello Member elements on index: 3 world Member elements on index: 4 six lupin

  • Why isnt this returning the new string?

    - by Evan Kimia
    I have a recursive method that reversed a string (HW assignment, has to be recursive). I did it....but its only returning the value of the string after the first pass. By analyzing the output after each pass i can see it does do its job correctly. heres my code, and the output i get below it: String s = "Hello, I love you wont you tell me your name?"; int k=0; public String reverseThisString(String s) { if(k!=s.length()) { String first =s.substring(0,k)+s.charAt(s.length()-1); String end = ""+s.substring(k, s.length()-1); k++; s=first+end; System.out.println(s); this.reverseThisString(s); } return s; } output: ?Hello, I love you wont you tell me your name

  • Change NSNumber value by allocating new NSNumber?

    - by Peter Hajas
    I understand that NSNumber is immutable, but I still have the need to change it in my app. I use it because it's an object, and therefore usable with @property (if I could, I would use float or CGFloat in a heartbeat, but sadly, I can't). Is there any way to just overwrite the old NSNumber instance? I'm trying this: NSNumber *zero = [[NSNumber alloc] initWithFloat:0.0]; myNSNumber = zero but this doesn't change the value. This is a simplified version of my code, as I'm changing the root view controller's parameter (I know, not MVC-friendly). Still, the changing of the value should be the same assignment, right? Should I release myNSNumber first? What should I set the @property at for myNSNumber? Thanks!

  • C# Constructor Question

    - by Vaccano
    I have a constructor question for C#. I have this class: public partial class Signature : Form, ISignature { private readonly SignatureMediator mediator; public Signature(SignatureMediator mediator) { this.mediator = mediator; InitializeComponent(); } .... more stuff } I want to construct this class like this: public SignatureMediator(int someValue, int otherValue, int thirdValue) : this(new Signature(this), someValue, otherValue, thirdValue) // This is not allowed --^ { // I don't see anyway to get this in to the ":this" part. //Signature signature = new Signature(this); } public SignatureMediator(ISignature form, int someValue, int otherValue, int thirdValue) { SigForm = form; SomeValue= someValue; OtherValue= otherValue; ThirdValue= thirdValue; } The : this( new SignatureThis(this) is not allowed (the this used in the constructor is not allowed). Is there anyway to set this up without duplicating the assignment of the int values?

  • Unit Testing Refcounted Critical Section Class

    - by BillyONeal
    Hello all :) I'm looking at a simple class I have to manage critical sections and locks, and I'd like to cover this with test cases. Does this make sense, and how would one go about doing it? It's difficult because the only way to verify the class works is to setup very complicated threading scenarios, and even then there's not a good way to test for a leak of a Critical Section in Win32. Is there a more direct way to make sure it's working correctly? Here's the code: CriticalSection.hpp: #pragma once #include <windows.h> namespace WindowsAPI { namespace Threading { class CriticalSection; class CriticalLock { std::size_t *instanceCount; CRITICAL_SECTION * criticalStructure; bool lockValid; friend class CriticalSection; CriticalLock(std::size_t *, CRITICAL_SECTION *, bool); public: bool IsValid() { return lockValid; }; void Unlock(); ~CriticalLock() { Unlock(); }; }; class CriticalSection { std::size_t *instanceCount; CRITICAL_SECTION * criticalStructure; public: CriticalSection(); CriticalSection(const CriticalSection&); CriticalSection& operator=(const CriticalSection&); CriticalSection& swap(CriticalSection&); ~CriticalSection(); CriticalLock Enter(); CriticalLock TryEnter(); }; }} CriticalSection.cpp: #include "CriticalSection.hpp" namespace WindowsAPI { namespace Threading { CriticalSection::CriticalSection() { criticalStructure = new CRITICAL_SECTION; instanceCount = new std::size_t; *instanceCount = 1; InitializeCriticalSection(criticalStructure); } CriticalSection::CriticalSection(const CriticalSection& other) { criticalStructure = other.criticalStructure; instanceCount = other.instanceCount; instanceCount++; } CriticalSection& CriticalSection::operator=(const CriticalSection& other) { CriticalSection copyOfOther(other); swap(copyOfOther); return *this; } CriticalSection& CriticalSection::swap(CriticalSection& other) { std::swap(other.instanceCount, instanceCount); std::swap(other.criticalStructure, other.criticalStructure); return *this; } CriticalSection::~CriticalSection() { if (!--(*instanceCount)) { DeleteCriticalSection(criticalStructure); delete criticalStructure; delete instanceCount; } } CriticalLock CriticalSection::Enter() { EnterCriticalSection(criticalStructure); (*instanceCount)++; return CriticalLock(instanceCount, criticalStructure, true); } CriticalLock CriticalSection::TryEnter() { bool lockAquired; if (TryEnterCriticalSection(criticalStructure)) { (*instanceCount)++; lockAquired = true; } else lockAquired = false; return CriticalLock(instanceCount, criticalStructure, lockAquired); } void CriticalLock::Unlock() { if (!lockValid) return; LeaveCriticalSection(criticalStructure); lockValid = false; if (!--(*instanceCount)) { DeleteCriticalSection(criticalStructure); delete criticalStructure; delete instanceCount; } } }}

  • [C++] Producer/Consumer Implementation -- Feedback Wanted

    - by bobber205
    I'm preparing for an interview in a few weeks and I thougth I would give threads in boost a go, as well as do the simple producer/consumer problem I learned in school. Haven't done it quite awhile so I was curious what you guys think of this? What should I add to make it a better example etc. Thanks for the feedback! :) ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// boost::mutex bufferMutex; deque<int> buffer; const int maxBufferSize = 5; ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// bool AddToBuffer(int i) { if (buffer.size() < maxBufferSize) { buffer.push_back(i); return true; } else { return false; } } bool GetFromBuffer(int& toReturn) { if (buffer.size() == 0) { return false; } else { toReturn = buffer[buffer.size()-1]; buffer.pop_back(); return true; } } struct Producer { int ID; void operator()() { while (true) { boost::mutex::scoped_lock lock(bufferMutex); int num = dice(); bool result = AddToBuffer(num); lock.unlock(); //safe area done if (result) { cout << "Producer " << this->ID << " Added " << num << endl; } else { cout << "!!Buffer was Full!!" << endl; } //Added //Now wait boost::xtime xt; xtime_get( &xt, boost::TIME_UTC); xt.nsec += 1000000 + 100000 * (rand() % 1000); boost::thread::sleep(xt); } } }; struct Consumer { int ID; void operator()() { while (true) { int returnedInt = 0; boost::mutex::scoped_lock lock(bufferMutex); bool result = GetFromBuffer(returnedInt); lock.unlock(); //safe area done if (result) { cout << "\tConsumer " << this->ID << " Took Out " << returnedInt << endl; } else { cout << "!!Buffer was Empty!!" << endl; } //Added //Now wait boost::xtime xt; xtime_get( &xt, boost::TIME_UTC); xt.nsec += 1000000 + 100000 * (rand() % 1000); boost::thread::sleep(xt); } } }; void main() { Producer p, p2; Consumer c, c2; p.ID = 1; p2.ID = 2; c.ID = 1; c2.ID = 2; boost::thread thread1(boost::ref(p)); boost::thread thread2(boost::ref(c)); boost::thread thread3(boost::ref(p2)); boost::thread thread4(boost::ref(c2)); int x; cin >> x; }

  • WPF: "Items collection must be empty before using ItemsSource."

    - by Zack Peterson
    I'm trying to get images to display in a WPF ListView styled like a WrapPanel as described in this old ATC Avalon Team article: How to Create a Custom View. When I try to populate the ListView with a LINQ-to-Entities queried collection of ADO.NET Entity Framework objects I get the following exception: Exception Items collection must be empty before using ItemsSource. My code… Visual Basic Private Sub Window1_Loaded(...) Handles MyBase.Loaded ListViewImages.ItemsSource = From g In db.Graphic _ Order By g.DateAdded Ascending _ Select g End Sub XAML <ListView Name="ListViewImages" SelectionMode="Single" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <local:ImageView /> </ListView> I put a breakpoint on that line. ListViewImages.ItemsSource is Nothing just before the LINQ assignment.

  • Linked List exercise, what am I doing wrong?

    - by Sean Ochoa
    Hey all. I'm doing a linked list exercise that involves dynamic memory allocation, pointers, classes, and exceptions. Would someone be willing to critique it and tell me what I did wrong and what I should have done better both with regards to style and to those subjects I listed above? /* Linked List exercise */ #include <iostream> #include <exception> #include <string> using namespace std; class node{ public: node * next; int * data; node(const int i){ data = new int; *data = i; } node& operator=(node n){ *data = *(n.data); } ~node(){ delete data; } }; class linkedList{ public: node * head; node * tail; int nodeCount; linkedList(){ head = NULL; tail = NULL; } ~linkedList(){ while (head){ node* t = head->next; delete head; if (t) head = t; } } void add(node * n){ if (!head) { head = n; head->next = NULL; tail = head; nodeCount = 0; }else { node * t = head; while (t->next) t = t->next; t->next = n; n->next = NULL; nodeCount++; } } node * operator[](const int &i){ if ((i >= 0) && (i < nodeCount)) throw new exception("ERROR: Invalid index on linked list.", -1); node *t = head; for (int x = i; x < nodeCount; x++) t = t->next; return t; } void print(){ if (!head) return; node * t = head; string collection; cout << "["; int c = 0; if (!t->next) cout << *(t->data); else while (t->next){ cout << *(t->data); c++; if (t->next) t = t->next; if (c < nodeCount) cout << ", "; } cout << "]" << endl; } }; int main (const int & argc, const char * argv[]){ try{ linkedList * myList = new linkedList; for (int x = 0; x < 10; x++) myList->add(new node(x)); myList->print(); }catch(exception &ex){ cout << ex.what() << endl; return -1; } return 0; }

  • What are some best practices for structuring cherrypy apps?

    - by Omega
    I'm writing a cherrypy app and I was wondering what the best way is for structuring my handlers and code for larger applications? I realize assignment is simple trough cherrypy.root, but what are some practices for writing the handlers and assigning them? (Allow me to prove my confusion!) My initial thought is to write a standard handler class that infers a template to run based on the current URL or class/method combination. Then I would assign one instance of that handler multiple times to the path to create pages. I don't see this working however as the recursive references wouldn't work quite right. So, given the fact that I'm already drawing blanks on how my own source code should look, I'd love some pointers and examples! Feel free to ask some detailed questions for me to clarify. While there is plenty of cherrypy tutorial material out there, it tends to only scratch the surface.

  • Circular Shifts on Strings in Bash

    - by Kyle Van Koevering
    I have a homework assignment where I need to take input from a file and continuously remove the first word in a line and append it to the end of the line until all combinations have been done. I really don't know where to begin and would be thankful for any sort of direction. The part that has me confused is that this is suppose to be performed without the use of arrays. I'm not just fishing for someone to solve the problem for me, I'm just looking for some direction. Thank you very much for your time and help. • Memory cleanup on returned array from static method (objective-c)

    - by Michael Bordelon
    In objective-c, I have a utility class with a bunch of static methods that I call for various tasks. As an example, I have one method that returns an NSArray that I allocate in the static method. If I set the NSArray to autorelease, then some time later, the NSArray in my calling method (that is assigned to the returned pointer) losses it's reference because the original form the static method is cleaned up. I can't release the NSArray object in the static method because it needs to be around for the return and assignment. What is the right way to return an object (like the NSArray) from a static class, and have it hang around for the calling class, but then get cleaned up later when it is no longer needed? Do I have to create the object first in the caller and pass in a pointer to the object and then return that same object form the static method? I know this is a basic O-O problem, I just never had this issue in Java and I do not do much C/C++. Thanks for your help.

  • Dyanmic crm onSave change the value

    - by jk
    Hi I got one assignment on Dynamic CRM 4. We have one custome entity and it has one attribute called 'Issue Number' this attributes value generated by Plug-in when it save. When form will created meaning onLoad it will display blank value(text box is empty). But now we want to check that number is existing then concate with some random number. For that I wrote following javascript. if((event.Mode == 1) || (event.Mode == 2) ) { var varIssueNumber = crmForm.all.new_issueNumber.DataValue; alert(varIssueNumber); } but it is giving 'null'. Can anybody please let me know how can I get the value of text field? thanks in advance

  • Displaying large file in JTextArea.

    - by Sathish Gopal
    Hi All, I'm currently working in Swing UI Assignment. This work involves showing large file content in JTextArea. The file size can be as large as 2 GB. My initial idea is to lazily load content from the file, say 1 MB of content will be shown to the user. As the user scrolls i will retrieve the next 1 MB of content to be shown. All these operation will be happening in background thread (Swing Worker). I looked at the JTextArea API, the method insert takes String and int(position of the insert) as the parameter. This will suffice, but i'm worried about performance, because the content (1 MB at a time) retrieved will have to be converted to String object. Is there any other work around or any other alternative/better solution for this.

  • How to create a backpropagation neural network in neurondonet?

    - by Suraj Prakash
    I am doing stock market prediction using ANNs in c#.net. I am using NeuronDotNet for the neural part. I have to give eight inputs to the network, with a hidden layer consisting 8 nodes and a single node output layer. Can anybody please give me some coding ideas for this???? This project was not a AI course assignment, but my major project. I have studied about the stocks and found various factors that affected the future value of stock of a company. Now I have to use these factors as input to the neural network. I am not getting into how to implement these factors in the neural network. I have just decided to use those eight factors as eight nodes in the input layer but things are going complex. My concern is to use these factors as input and train the neural network for output as next day's stock value. What major things should I have to care about??

  • Grafting LINQ onto C# 2 library

    - by P Daddy
    I'm writing a data access layer. It will have C# 2 and C# 3 clients, so I'm compiling against the 2.0 framework. Although encouraging the use of stored procedures, I'm still trying to provide a fairly complete ability to perform ad-hoc queries. I have this working fairly well, already. For the convenience of C# 3 clients, I'm trying to provide as much compatibility with LINQ query syntax as I can. Jon Skeet noticed that LINQ query expressions are duck typed, so I don't have to have an IQueryable and IQueryProvider (or IEnumerable<T>) to use them. I just have to provide methods with the correct signatures. So I got Select, Where, OrderBy, OrderByDescending, ThenBy, and ThenByDescending working. Where I need help are with Join and GroupJoin. I've got them working, but only for one join. A brief compilable example of what I have is this: // .NET 2.0 doesn't define the Func<...> delegates, so let's define some workalikes delegate TResult FakeFunc<T, TResult>(T arg); delegate TResult FakeFunc<T1, T2, TResult>(T1 arg1, T2 arg2); abstract class Projection{ public static Condition operator==(Projection a, Projection b){ return new EqualsCondition(a, b); } public static Condition operator!=(Projection a, Projection b){ throw new NotImplementedException(); } } class ColumnProjection : Projection{ readonly Table table; readonly string columnName; public ColumnProjection(Table table, string columnName){ this.table = table; this.columnName = columnName; } } abstract class Condition{} class EqualsCondition : Condition{ readonly Projection a; readonly Projection b; public EqualsCondition(Projection a, Projection b){ this.a = a; this.b = b; } } class TableView{ readonly Table table; readonly Projection[] projections; public TableView(Table table, Projection[] projections){ this.table = table; this.projections = projections; } } class Table{ public Projection this[string columnName]{ get{return new ColumnProjection(this, columnName);} } public TableView Select(params Projection[] projections){ return new TableView(this, projections); } public TableView Select(FakeFunc<Table, Projection[]> projections){ return new TableView(this, projections(this)); } public Table Join(Table other, Condition condition){ return new JoinedTable(this, other, condition); } public TableView Join(Table inner, FakeFunc<Table, Projection> outerKeySelector, FakeFunc<Table, Projection> innerKeySelector, FakeFunc<Table, Table, Projection[]> resultSelector){ Table join = new JoinedTable(this, inner, new EqualsCondition(outerKeySelector(this), innerKeySelector(inner))); return join.Select(resultSelector(this, inner)); } } class JoinedTable : Table{ readonly Table left; readonly Table right; readonly Condition condition; public JoinedTable(Table left, Table right, Condition condition){ this.left = left; this.right = right; this.condition = condition; } } This allows me to use a fairly decent syntax in C# 2: Table table1 = new Table(); Table table2 = new Table(); TableView result = table1 .Join(table2, table1["ID"] == table2["ID"]) .Select(table1["ID"], table2["Description"]); But an even nicer syntax in C# 3: TableView result = from t1 in table1 join t2 in table2 on t1["ID"] equals t2["ID"] select new[]{t1["ID"], t2["Description"]}; This works well and gives me identical results to the first case. The problem is if I want to join in a third table. TableView result = from t1 in table1 join t2 in table2 on t1["ID"] equals t2["ID"] join t3 in table3 on t1["ID"] equals t3["ID"] select new[]{t1["ID"], t2["Description"], t3["Foo"]}; Now I get an error (Cannot implicitly convert type 'AnonymousType#1' to 'Projection[]'), presumably because the second join is trying to join the third table to an anonymous type containing the first two tables. This anonymous type, of course, doesn't have a Join method. Any hints on how I can do this?

  • Problem passing strings with PHP post

    - by andy
    Hi Guys, Basically I'm developing a (very) simple search engine. You can enter a search term and you are taken to the results page - which works fine. However on the results page, I have a button that will take you to the next 10 results: where $term is the $_POST['term'] value. echo "<input type='hidden' name='term' value='" . $term . "'>"; This causes the following problem with the term is for example "aidan's". When the next 10 button is clicked, the term becomes aidan\ and no further results are found. I am not doing anything to $term. I usually use Java, but am required to use PHP for this uni assignment! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Negative execution time

    - by FinalArt2005
    Hello, I wrote a little program that solves 49151 sudoku's within an hour for an assignment, but we had to time it. I thought I'd just let it run and then check the execution time, but it says -1536.087 s. I'm guessing it has to do with the timer being some signed dataype or something, but I have no idea what datatype is used for the timer in the console (code::blocks console, I'm not sure if this is actually a separate console, or just a runner that runs the terminal from the local operating system), so I can't check what the real time was. I'd rather not run this again with some coded timer within my program, since I'd like to be able to use my pc again now. Anybody have any idea what this time could be? It should be somewhere between 40 and 50 minutes, so between 2400 and 3000 seconds. Regards, Erik

  • Is there another way of setting the array values in javascript

    - by Dennis
    Hello. Again I'm still new to this javascript thing, so just would like to know if there is another way of setting the values of an array (just like declaring it); //correct way of declaring an array and reusing var adata = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable adata[0] = '4'; adata[1] = '5'; adata[2] = '6' This part is my question; I want to declare the values of the array just like declaring them to minimize the number of lines; //array declaration var data = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable data = ['4','5','6']; ---> (as an example) I get an error msg "Invalid assignment left-hand side" is this possible? If so, what is the correct syntax? I hope I'm making sense. Thanking you in advance.

  • how to initialize a 2d array in perl

    - by Mark
    How do I initialize a 2d array in perl? I am trying the following code: 0 use strict; 10 my @frame_events = (((1) x 10), ((1) x 10)); 20 print "$frame_events[1][1]\n"; but it gives the following error: Can't use string ("1") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at ./dyn_pf.pl line 20. This syntax only seems to initialize a 1d array as print "$frame_events[1]\n" works. Though perl doesn't give any error during the assignment.

  • Objective C Insanity -- simple assignement to a single float variable results in {{{CRAZY}}} values

    - by morgancodes
    memberA is defined in the header of ClassA. memberB is defined in the header of ClassB. ClassB is a subclass of ClassA Inside an instance of ClassB, setting memberA via simple assignment: memberA = 0.05 ...also changes memberB, but to a crazy number -- 1028443341. Additionally, assigning 0.05 to memberA results in memberA showing up in the debugger as 5.33083531e-38. Both variables are floats, neither is a pointer. I'm almost certianly making some noob mistake, but I don't have any clue what it might be. What sort of screw-up might make it so assigning a value to one variable results in crazy values appearing in two variables? I can give more details or real code, but figured I'd keep it simple to start with in case it's an obvious problem/solution.

  • Best practice for assigning A/B test variation based on IP address

    - by mojones
    I am starting to write some code for A/B testing in a Grails web application. I want to ensure that requests from the same IP address always see the same variation. Rather than store a map of IP-variant, is it OK to simply turn the IP address into an integer by removing the dots, then use that as the seed for a random number generator? The following is taking place in a Grails Filter: def ip = request.remoteAddr def random = new Random(ip.replaceAll(/\./, '').toInteger()) def value = random.nextBoolean() session.assignment = value // value should always be the same for a given IP address I know that identifying users by IP address is not reliable, and I will be using session variables/cookies as well, but this seems to be useful for the case where we have a new session, and no cookies set (or the user has cookies disabled).

  • Default value list for pipeline param in Powershell

    - by fatcat1111
    I have a Powershell script that reads values off of the pipeline: PARAM ( [Parameter(ValueFromPipeline = $true)] $s ) PROCESS { echo "* $s" } Works just fine: PS my.ps1 foo * foo I would like the script to have list of default values, as the most common usage will always use the same values and storing them in the default will be most convenient. I did the usual assignment: PARAM ( [Parameter(ValueFromPipeline = $true)] $s = 'bar' ) PROCESS { echo "* $s" } Again, works just fine: PS my.ps1 * bar PS my.ps1 foo * foo However when setting the default to be a list, I get back something entirely reasonable but not at all what I want: PARAM ( [Parameter(ValueFromPipeline = $true)] $s = @('bar', 'bat', 'boy') ) PROCESS { echo "* $s" } Result: PS my.ps1 * bar bat boy I expected: PS my.ps1 * bar * bat * boy How can I get one call in to the Process loop for each default value? (This is somewhat different than getting one call in to Process, and wrapping the current body of in a big foreach loop over $s).

  • c# copy constructor generator

    - by Shawn Mclean
    I want to copy values from one object to another object. Something similiar to pass by value but with assignment. Eg. PushPin newValPushPin = oldPushPin; //I want to break the reference here. I was told to write a copy constructor for this. But this class has alot of properties, it will probably take an hour to write a copy constructor by hand. Is there a better way to assign an object to another object by value? If not, is there a copy constructor generator?
