• CSS navigation submenu and seperator

  I have created a navigation bar that is centered with CSS which works. Each li item is separated with a border which is a background image. When hovering on the nav items, the separator disappears because the hover changes the background (I guess) but I wonder how I can fix this, padding or margin can't work because it will just shift the li element. Second problem is that the sub menu items aren't displaying correctly and I have no idea why...   Over at html syntax to display literal string i asked about displaying a literal. When i tried : http://sdrv.ms/1bEsPWz (as the posted sample will not display, i need to show a picture, as i don't have 10 xxx, i can't insert a picture, I am only left with a skydrive reference) In english, the and syntax was tried but it failed to show all content inside the block. It only showed the "is equal to - pre sample " part. I thought - did not care what was inside ? Can some explain how to make a truely literal block display ? I have my reasons why i don't want to have the " syntax in the html. Thanks

• SetWindowLongPtr with DialogBoxParam?

  Hey all- A while back I was writing a C++ program with the Win32 API that would display a dialog box and then listen to the messages it generated. At one point, I was interested in associating a piece of data with the dialog window. Were I manually creating the window and attaching a window proc, I'd just use SetWindowLongPtr to set the GWLP_USERDATA field to a pointer to the data to associate. However, in this case I was creating and displaying the window with DialogBoxParam, and it wasn't clear whether this function was associating that data with its own internal state. Since the MSDN didn't have a description of what would happen in this case, I ended up using some other approach to solve the problem. My question is this - is it safe to use SetWindowLongPtr to overwrite the GWLP_USERDATA value in a window created by DialogBoxParam? Thanks!

  Hi All, I am fetching some data from Db and displaying it in a textarea using jquery in the following way. $('#textareatest').val('<% =teststring %>').It is possible that the string 'teststring' can contain XHTML line breaks(<br/>).whenever the string contains <br/> I am getting the 'unterminated string literal' error.I saw a number of posts considering '\n' as line breaks and suggesting to escape it.I tried to escape the <br/> similarly,but it didn't work. • How should I display invalid options?

  I've got a WinForms client-server app that displays various offers in a list. Every user (client) has a "rating". An offer consists of various data including a minimum and maximum rating. If a user's rating does not fall in that interval, he should not be able to take the offer. Of course I could just perform some server filtering and send a list of offers prefiltered for each user to the client application. But that would surely, and rightfully, lead to confused requests "Why isn't this offer showing up? I know it exists, it shows up on [other user]'s screen." How should I handle this? My favorite solution so far is to grey out the offer and add a tooltip "You can't take this offer because your rating is too high/low" while displaying greyed-out offers at the bottom of the list to leave the actually valid offers easily visible on top of the list.

Now I'm struggling creating this on Pylons with sqlalchemy I tried to do the following picture = Session.query(model.Picture) sub_q = picture.filter_by(albumid = model.Album.id).limit(1).subquery() album_q = Session.query(model.Album, sub_q) result = album_q.all() but it creates the following statement displaying the incorrect picture beacuse the table albums is included in the subquery select albums.name,(select pictures.path from pictures,albums where pictures.albumid=albums.id) from albums where ... Am I doing it wrong?, is this even possible in sqlalchemy?.

• C# RichTextBox - Partially setting DetectUrls=false

  Hi, I have this RichTextBox and I have embedded some http links in it. I have set DetectUrls = true, and it displays the links correctly and handles in the event. In the same RichTextBox, I have one more string displayed which looks like this Type http://< Your host name Now, since DetectUrls= true, the portion "http://<" is displayed as a link, while I want this to be text. If I set the DetectUrls=false just before displaying this string, none of the other links are displayed as links. Is there a way to partially set DetectUrls for some strings and not for others?   I am making one application where user will print invoices which I am displaying using Crystal Report. The user showed me his current application made using ForPro. In that application, under Printer Options form, one can see all the printers currently installed and the user could select default printer. When the invoice is made, the user presses the print button, then there is one dialog asking for no. of copies. When it's entered, the invoice gets printed directly, without any Print Dialog Box. If the user wants to change the printer again he/she will change it in the Printer Option form. I want to know if similar thing is possible in Crystal Report and need guidance on how to approach for it.

  Here is my current issue. I need to display a tree like structure displaying a recall roster. Our DBA created a stored procedure that returns [level],[name],[contact_info]. Example looks like: [1] [test name1] [contact info] [2] [sub to1] [contact info] [3] [sub to2] [contact info] [4] [sub to3] [contact info] [3] [sub to2] [contact info] [2] [sub to1] [contact info] etc... It's sorted in the order of the hierarchy I haven't really worked with XML much but is that the way to go in loading/presenting this data. Currently when I retrieving the data I'm returning it in a datatable. There may also be a need to export this data to Excel. Can anyone point me a good direction to go with this?

  I'm trying to figure out a way to display custom text based on the users selection of the variable product. The attribute is 'pricing' and the tag is deposit - which I've added a text description to when adding the attribute.   Hello, I'm making a hit counter. I have a database and I store the IP and $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; of the visitors. Now I need to add a filter, so I can put away the hits, that are made by bots. I found out, that many bots usually keep some common words in the $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']; , so I's like to make and array of words, that would keep the bot from displaying in the results. Here is what I have now: while($row = mysql_fetch_array($yesterday, MYSQL_ASSOC)) { <-- Here I need a code, that would run through an array and check, if it containts the keywords and if it doesn't ... just count++; -- } Also if you know any other way of detecting and removing the bots from the results, I'd be verry thankful. Okay, all of this models can have some comments. So, this is my Comments model at this moment: Comments - string : id text : body integer : page_id integer : item_id So when some one add comment to page - page_id will be filled with current Page id. And if some one add comment to item - item_id will be filled. Okay, i know what the best way is to create STI or Polymorphic assoc, but does i really need this way for my situation?   I have a div that I want to toggle between displaying or not when a user clicks on a piece of text. I have a javascript function that toggles a div on or off. That works fine. What I don't know how to do is to have a triangle that points to the right or down depending on whether the div is open. My HTML looks like this: <a onclick="toggleDiv('myDiv');">Click here to expand or close div</a> <div id="myDiv" style="display:none"> ... </div> How do I add one of those triangles and have it point the right way, ideally with just HTML, Javascript, and CSS? • Are breakpoints introduce delay?

  How is that setting a breakpoint in my code allows the following code to complete which would fail otherwise. Here is the problem. I'm writing an add-on for SAP B1 and encountered following problem. When I load a form I would like to enter some values into the form' matrix. But without a breakpoint (set on a method in which loading a form takes place) the part of code that is executed afterwards will fail. That part of code is referencing a matrix that is not yet displayed which results in an exception. This is all clear. But why setting a breakpoint "solves" the problem. What is going on? I suspect that my breakpoint introduces some delay between loading and displaying my form and part of code that references element of that form but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance

• best way to use CoreLocation across multiple views

  I have two views in my app, one is a general view where CoreLocation works away calculating the users location while the user is doing other stuff in the view. The second view is accessed by the user when they touch a button allowing them to locate themselves more accurately using a mapview and MapKit, i would like the mapview in this view to show the location that CoreLocation has already identified in the first view AND to continue displaying this location based on updates from CoreLocation in the other view. Is the best way here to create a singleton that encapsulates the CoreLocation stuff and have this referenced in the view with the map, or to use notifications ? or to use some other better practice for my scenario ?   I'm need to include ads into my app and I have a settings option to disable ads. so I need to load the ad in code. I copied the code from google to handle that and when I set ads:loadAdOnCreate to true, it works just fine. But if I set it to false and add the two lines AdView adView = (AdView)this.findViewById(R.id.ad); adView.loadAd(new AdRequest()); The ads stop displaying. If I look at log cat, it shows that it is receiving an ad and trying to display it. However it won't actually display on screen. Help?

  Most of my websites in the past have been rather limited to the United States when it came to displaying addresses. On a project I'm working on right now, however, users can add events from all over the world. My problem is how to go about dealing with the different way in which addresses are displayed across the world. For example, City/State/Zip is just a US thing. I was figuring I would alter the inputs displayed based on the country selected but I have no idea how I'm supposed to know the way every single country does addresses. Ideas?

  I'm not sure if this is even a good question or not. I have a complex query with lot's of unions that searches multiple tables for a certain keyword (user input). All tables in which there is searched are related to the table book. There is paging on the resultset using LIMIT, so there's always a maximum of 10 results that get withdrawn. I want an extra column in the resultset displaying the total amount of results found however. I do not want to do this using a seperate query. Is it possible to add a count() column to the resultset that counts every result found? the output would look like this: ID Title Author Count(...) 1 book_1 auth_1 23 2 book_2 auth_2 23 4 book_4 auth_.. 23 ... • Can I have an android activity run only on the first time an application is opened?

  OK, so I'm playing around with an android app. The 90% use case is that users want to go straight to the primary list screen to find what they're looking for. That's what I want as my default screen. The first time a user loads the app however, some configuration is required before their list screen is of any value to them. So my question, is how I can go about displaying the configuration activity the first time the app is opened up, and then the list screen for future openings. I also want to put a demo button on the configuration screen, so I suppose more than just detecting that it's the first time, I specifically want to detect whether the user has performed certain configurations within the first screen.
