  In my website I created a class e.g. Class1.cs in App_Code folder when I am trying to load default page which is using this Class file I am getting the following error CS0103: The name 'Class1' does not exist in the current context for the code String something = Class1.item1(text1.Text, text2.Text); and Class1.cs consists of protected static string item1(string a, string b) { //some action here return null; } Everything works fine in my VS2010 but when I host the website in my server I am getting this issue.

  I want to read both formatted text and binary data from the same iostream. How can I do that? Why? Imagine this situation: You have different resources, and resource loaders for them, that take a std::istream as a parameter. And there are a "resource source" that provides these streams. Resources can be both text and binary and I need to handle both cases with resource loaders. Or other situation: Image that you have an archive with resources of mixed types. How can I get a text stream from inside the binary archive stream?

Tried to setup tiers in my Simple Products, but those do not show up, or do not activate when I add to cart from my Config Product page. Any help is appreciated! Thanks. • Transform LINQ Dataset into a Matrix for export

  Hi folks, I've got a data table with columns in which include Item, Category and Value (and others, but those are the only relevant ones for this problem) that I access via LINQ in a C# ASP.Net MVC app. I want to transform these into a matrix and output that as a CSV file to pull into Excel as matrix with the items down the side, the categories across the top and the values in the row cells. However, I don't know how many, or what, categories there will be in this table, nor will there always be a record for each item/category combination. I've written this by looping round, getting my "master category" list, then looking again for each item, filling in either blank or Value, depending on whether the item/category record exists, but as there are currently 27000 records in the table, this isn't as fast as I'd like. Is there a slicker and faster way I can do this, maybe via LINQ (firing into a quicker SQL statement so the DB server can do the leg-work), or will any method essentially come back to what I am doing? • JQuery Control Update Not Happening

  Hi, I've got a script that disables a button input control, empties a table body and then (after an AJAX call) re-populates it. It all works fine but sometimes there are a lot of rows in the table so the browser (IE) takes a while to empty and refill it. The strange thing is, while the rows are being emptied, the button still appears to be enabled, however if I put an alert between the button being disabled and the tbody being emptied, the button works properly, disabling visibly before the the alert comes up. Is there any way I can get the button to update before the resource consuming table emptying process/command commences? Thx MH Code sample, as requested (but it's not complex, so I didn't initially include it) $('#Search').attr('disabled', true); $('#StatusSpan').empty(); $('#DisplayTBody').empty(); then I perform my AJAX call, re-enable the button and repopulate the table. As I mentioned, normally this is really quick and isn't a problem, but if there are, say, 1500 rows in the table it takes a while to clear down but the 'Search' button doesn't update on the screen, however if I put an alert after the .attr('disabled' line the button visibly updates when the alert box is up, but without that the button doesn't visibly disable until after the table clears (which is about 3 or 4 seconds with 1500 rows), it just stays in it's down/"mid-press" state. I don't have a problem with the time the browser is taking to render the table changes, that's just life, but I need the users to see visible feedback so they know the search has started

• body onload cache not clearing

  I'm using an image swapping function generated by Dreamweaver to allow an image to change when moused over. The images are small. I have a problem because the images are getting stored in cache and without clearing it out I cant get the new images to show. It works on some browsers, but unfortunately not on all... I've read about putting "a random query" into the javascript to force the page to reload, but I dont know where to put it (the code was generated for me by dreamweaver). • usb mouse/keyboard doesn't work with 3.11.0-12-generic kernel

  I can't use my usb keyboard/mouse after upgrade from raring to saucy. The keyboard works in grub menu and if I boot with the previous kernel version (3.8.0-31-generic). My new kernel version is 3.11.0-12-generic. Before that I had a problem with logging in to GNOME. During which I upgraded all the packages at one point (apt-get upgrade) and it stopped booting at all (it didn't get to login screen). Then I fixed PATH issue and now I've got this usb-not-working issue. I tried reinstalling kernel, to no effect. Is there anything else I can do to fix or diagnose the problem?

• Ruby on rails generates tests for you. Do those give a false sense of a safety net?

  Disclaimer: I have not used RoR, and I have not generated tests. But, I will still dare to post this question. Quality Assurance is theoretically impossible to get 100% right in general (Undecidable problem ;), and it is hard in practice. So many developers do not understand that writing good automated tests is an art, and it is hard. When I hear that RoR generates the tests for you, I get very skeptical. It cannot be that easy. Testing is a general concept; it applies across languages. So does the concept of code contracts, it is similar for languages that support it. Code contracts do not generate themselves. The programmer must add the requirements and the promises manually, after doing some thinking about the algorithm / function. If a human gets it wrong, then the tools will propagate the error. Similarly with testing - it takes human judgement about what should happen. Tests do not write themselves, and we are far from the day when a business analyst can just have a conversation with a computer and tell it informally what the requirements are and have the computer do all the work. There is no magic ... how can RoR generate good tests for you? Please shed some light on this. Opinions are ok, for this is a community wiki. Thanks!

• Multiple database connection in Rails

  I'm using active_delegate for multiple connection in Rails. Here I'm using mysql as master_database for some models,and postgresql for some other models. Problem is that when I try to access the mysql models, I'm getting the error below! Stack trace shows that, it is still using the postgresql adapter to access my mysql models! • On Ruby on Rails, <%= or <% should only matter whether it is show or no show, but why will it give

I thought they only differ by "show" or "not show", but why will it actually cause a compile error?
