  • Master Detail same View binding controls

    Hi everyone, say I have a List View with ItemControls. And a Details part that shows the selected Item from List View. Both are in the same xaml page.   • Synchronizing one or more databases with a master database - Foreign keys

    I'm using Google Gears to be able to use an application offline (I know Gears is deprecated). The problem I am facing is the synchronization with the database on the server. The specific problem is the primary keys or more exactly, the foreign keys. When sending the information to the server, I could easily ignore the primary keys, and generate new ones. But then how would I know what the relations are. I had one sollution in mind, bet the I would need to save all the pk for every client. What is the best way to synchronize multiple client with one server db. Edit: I've been thinking about it, and I guess seqential primary keys are not the best solution, but what other possibilities are there? Time based doesn't seem right because of collisions which could happen. A GUID comes to mind, is that an option? It looks like generating a GUID in javascript is not that easy. I can do something with natural keys or composite keys. As I'm thinking about it, that looks like the best solution. Can I expect any problems with that?

  • MasterPage Page_Load hits before Grid_ItemCommand

    I am using the session object to store success/error messages based on user actions. On each postback, the message is set on ItemCommend and retrieved on the Page_Load of the master page. Once retrieved, the message is deleted from the session. The problem is that the master page's Page_Load gets called before the ItemCommand gets called so the message does not show up until the next refresh or postback. How is this situation normally handled? Is there some other event we can code against?

    Isn't TABCONTAINER supposed to be used in a MASTERPAGE? I started building my application in a single .aspx page with a tabcontainer to separate the different features in the application. My idea was to later break it up into individual pages with less code in each of them. I thought the use of a masterpage would be the perfect solutions... of course, this didn't work as expected. The problem is that all tabs, except the one related to the page loaded, for example tab1.aspx, are empty. If tab2.aspx is loaded, only tab2 is filled and so on. Is this a known bug or by design?

Microsoft paint have support for save them in PNG format.

    A bit of a revelation this evening. I discovered something obvious, but missing from my understanding of the brilliant iOS example that ships with the Sync. Framework 4.0CTP It seems that on the server side if a record is edited, correctly only the fields that are modified gets sent down to your device (in my case an iPad). I was previously just blindly assuming that I'd get all fields down.     I want to use certain parts of the Game State Management Example in a game I'm making, but I'm not sure how to do this legally. It says in the license that I'm supposed to include a copy of the license with it. So if I make a Visual Studio Solution, I just add the license.txt to the solution? Also, if I use a class and change it, do I have to keep the license info at the top or add that I changed it or what?
