  • Legal to decompile an SWF licensed under Apache 2.0

    Is it legal to decompile an SWF that is licensed under Apache 2.0 with no additional terms? I'm also planning on modifying and using for commercial purposes. My understanding is that Apache License 2.0 allows for modification of source and object, but I'm not sure if I can convert from object to source. Thanks.

  • Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0: Commercial Use?

    On the following URL are some icons I'd like to use in a website for a client. This would be commercial work. The site says "free for public use", what is public use and can I use them in commercial works? http://somerandomdude.com/projects/iconic I checked the license at: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/us/ and there it says "free cultural works". Can anyone clear this up?

  • Linked List Design

    The other day in a local .NET group I attend the following question came up: "Is it a valid interview question to ask about Linked Lists when hiring someone for a .NET development position?" Not having a computer sciense degree and being a self taught developer my response was that I did not feel it was appropriate as I in 5 years of developer with .NET had never been exposed to linked lists and did not hear any compeling reason for a use for one. However the person commented that it is a very common interview question so I decided when I left that I would do some reasearch on linked lists and see what I might be missing. I have read a number of posts on stack overflow and various google searches and decided the best way to learn about them was to write my own .NET classes to see how they worked from the inside out. Here is my class structure Single Linked List Constructor public SingleLinkedList(object value) Public Properties public bool IsTail public bool IsHead public object Value public int Index public int Count private fields not exposed to a property private SingleNode firstNode; private SingleNode lastNode; private SingleNode currentNode; Methods public void MoveToFirst() public void MoveToLast() public void Next() public void MoveTo(int index) public void Add(object value) public void InsertAt(int index, object value) public void Remove(object value) public void RemoveAt(int index) Questions I have: What are typical methods you would expect in a linked list? What is typical behaviour when adding new records? For example if I have 4 nodes and I am currently positioned in the second node and perform Add() should it be added after or before the current node? Or should it be added to the end of the list? Some of the designs I have seen explaining things seem to expose outside of the LinkedList class the Node object. In my design you simply add, get, remove values and know nothing about any node object. Should the Head and Tail be placeholder objects that are only used to define the head/tail of the list? I require my Linked List be instantiated with a value which creates the first node of the list which is essentially the head and tail of the list. Would you change that ? What should the rules be when it comes to removing nodes. Should someone be able to remove all nodes?     I got the public key from the certificate, keypair is a java.security.KeyPair object String public_key = keypair.getPublic().toString(); I want to send this to the via an http connection to a J2me application. I cannot find any documentation to convert the transmitted string to a Public key that can be used to encrypt Strings. I also want the J2me to verify signed strings from the server. I want to then send the encrypted strings back to the server.

  • Why won't anyone accept public fields in C#?

    Seems like every C# static analyzer wants to complain when it sees a public field. But why? Surely there are cases where a public (or internal) field is enough, and there is no point in having a property with its get_ and set_ methods? What if I know for sure that I won't be redefining the field or adding to it (side effects are bad, right?) - shouldn't a simple field suffice?

  • Public Wildcard Domain Name To Resolve To 127.0.0.1

    Is anyone aware of a public wildcard domain name that resolves to IP address 127.0.0.1. For example if I wanted to test a URL locally such as mywebsite.localhost.com or example.localhost.com but I don't have control of DNS settings (hosts file or whatever) then I would use this public DNS to resolve to 127.0.0.1. It needs to be wildcarded so that no matter whatever comes before localhost.com it still resolves to 127.0.0.1.

I am using Fabric and Python and I would like a more automated way of pulling code from the repository through the use of public keys, but without any ops or manual intervention to set up the public keys. Are you storing them in the code as text or in a database and generate the pk file on the fly?

I want a default value -1 for this attribute without an private variable like _MyAttr(because too many attributes, i won't add them one by one). public int MyAttr { get; set; } [DefaultValueAttribute] is not working for this issue i think.     Did a quick search but could not find anything about this. I guess all of you know that the Visual Studio Code Analysis is quite nitpicking and gives warnings about a lot of things. Does anybody know how well Microsoft follow this themselves..? That is, if I were to run a code analysis on their assemblies, would the warnings be none or very few (perhaps surpress warning with a justification..?).

    I'm trying the following request to access the bucket by using curl, via the public API: curl -X POST -H 'Content-Type: image/jpeg' -d @xxx.jpeg 'https://www.googleapis.com/upload/storage/v1/b/clips.eyecam.com/o?uploadType=media&name=x.jpeg&key=XXX' With XXX being the generated key in the Public API. However I'm getting an authorization failure: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "reason": "required", "message": "Login Required", "locationType": "header", "location": "Authorization" } ], "code": 401, "message": "Login Required" } } Seems the request is incorrect and does not pass the authorization key, any idea what would be the right form of the request?

  • What is the XML spec for importing into Microsoft Project?

    From our existing, internal tracking system I would like to create an XML export that I can then bring into Microsoft Project 2007 to further display and manipulation. I've been unable to find a straightforward explanation of how the XML should look for this kind of import. I want to be able to create dependencies, assign resources, etc. The Excel/CSV imports don't appear to offer all these capabilities so I think XML is the better way...if I could just get a spec for it.
