• Connection to .mdb file fails on windows 2008 core - 32bit

  Hi, I have an application where I am doing connection with .mdb file. Here are the steps we are following : Creating object for database utils inteface Calling the connect() function, to get connected to the database whose extension is .mdb file Above flow is working correct on all windows platform but not on windows server 2008 CORE 32-bit. I also checked whether the ODBC drivers are installed or not, by opening regedit. I found that all drivers specially Microsoft access driver (*.mdb) is installed. ANd I think it is by default get installed while installing OS. Is anyone aware of any thing about ODBC drivers and connectivity to the database (like .mdb) on windows 2008 CORE ( which runs only on command line and no interface)

• Apache htdocs in folder with unicode name

  I have my apache (for windows) htdocs in a folder like c:\anything1\????\anything2. The problem is that in this case php won't execute any scripts from here and will display an error message like this: `Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0 Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required 'c:/anything1/????/anything2/index.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in Unknown on line 0 ` If I try to open a html file, it is served by apache, so it seems that the problem appears only with php. Do you have an idea how to solve this?

• Converting paragraph tags with RegEx

  I need to replace all <p> tags with <br /> tags within a string. The problem is that the <p> tag can have attributes in it , such as <p align="center"> so I want to delete all occurrences of an opening tag of a paragraph, no matter what attributes are in it, and replace them with <br />. I am using PHP and had no success getting to the right expression with the preg_replace function. Any help would be appreciated! Joel

• Python: Pickling highly-recursive objects without using `setrecursionlimit`

  I've been getting RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded when trying to pickle a highly-recursive tree object. Much like this asker here. He solved his problem by setting the recursion limit higher with sys.setrecursionlimit. But I don't want to do that: I think that's more of a workaround than a solution. Because I want to be able to pickle my trees even if they have 10,000 nodes in them. (It currently fails at around 200.) (Also, every platform's true recursion limit is different, and I would really like to avoid opening this can of worms.) Is there any way to solve this at the fundamental level? If only the pickle module would pickle using a loop instead of recursion, I wouldn't have had this problem. Maybe someone has an idea how I can cause something like this to happen, without rewriting the pickle module? Any other idea how I can solve this problem will be appreciated.

  Hey all, I'm new to using WPF. I have the following program I want to create: -Application opens up with one button -User clicks button and it takes them to a new page with various input. I'm confused about how I need to do this. I tried opening a new window, but I don't want a window to open up, I want it to be all one Window. I tried creating a new page and navigating to it using NavigationService but couldn't get it to work. Basically I want to create a workflow where the user enters some stuff, clicks the next button and is taken to a new page to enter some more information. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  Sorry for opening new thread every time for the same problem. It's just that I'd like to refine my question during my investigation and it's hard to do it in stackoverflow structure on the same question (maybe on purpose). Anyway, in continuation to this thread http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2843218/problem-configure-jboss-to-work-with-jndi2 I discovered that when running an application that is deployed on my JBoss 4.2.3.GA, when I perform: Context initialContext = new InitialContext(); Object dataSource = initialContext.lookup("java:/DefaultDS"); I get null as a return value even though DefaultDS is the default datasource that comes with Jboss installation. and generally, how come initialContext return null value? if the datasource is not found it should throw NamingException and in other case it should return real object. What can I do with null? isn't it a bad error handling of javax.naming.InitialContext ???

• Linux shell to restrict sftp users to their home directories?

  I need to give SFTP access to a directory within my webroot on my server. I've set up ben_files as a user and have set his/her home directory to /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/files That's all fine if he/she connects with plain old FTP - he's/she's restricted just to that directory, but to enable SFTP I had to add him/her to bin/bash shell, which suddenly opens up my entire server... Is there a way of giving him/her SFTP access but without opening up all my directories? I'd really like him restricted to only his/her home ;)

• How can I configure Xcode to put '{' where I want it in generated files

  I know this is a fairly contentious issue amongst programmers, but when developing I like my IDE to position the opening curly bracket underneath the method/interface/control declaration, for illustrative purposes: - This is how Xcode automatically generates skeleton methods with the { at the end: - -(void) isTrue:(BOOL)input { if(input) { return YES; } else { return NO; } } This is how I like to lay out my code (which I believe is called the Allman style): - -(void) isTrue:(BOOL)input { if(input) { return YES; } else { return NO; } } I'm just wondering if there's any configuration switch in Xcode to enable this style of development? It's really annoying when typing out if/else statements as it tends to auto-complete the else clause with the { at the end of the line which just looks silly if you like developing with them underneath. Or am I being unreasonable? Is Objective-C supposed to adhere to a standard defined by Apple?

  Hi Based on the following table ID Effort Name ------------------------- 1 1 A 2 1 A 3 8 A 4 10 B 5 4 B 6 1 B 7 10 C 8 3 C 9 30 C I want to check if the total effort against a name is less than 40 then add a row with effort = 40 - (Total Effort) for the name. The ID of the new row can be anything. If the total effort is greater than 40 then trucate the data for one of the rows to make it 40. So after applying the logic above table will be ID Effort Name ------------------------- 1 1 A 2 1 A 3 8 A 10 30 A 4 10 B 5 4 B 6 1 B 11 25 B 7 10 C 8 3 C 9 27 C I was thinking of opening a cursor, keeping a counter of the total effort, and based on the logic insert existing and new rows in another temporary table. I am not sure if this is an efficient way to deal with this. I would like to learn if there is a better way.

• Window scrolling up when jquery dialog opens up

  I am trying to open a modal jquery dialog using jquery 1.4 and jquery-ui-1.8rc3.custom.js The dialog opens up with no issues, in all browsers, but in IE 7 and 6, after the dialog opens up, the window scrolls itself to the buttom... I tried scrolling the window up back to the modal position but is very inconsistent. was using the following line of code after opening up the modal window.scrollTo($('selector').dialog('option', 'position')[0],$('selector').dialog('option', 'position')[1]); One weird thing I am noticing is that after I open the modal, the page becomes huge... as if some extra things adds up on the bottom .... and it eventually scrolls to the bottom. • Accessing global variables within functions in PHP

  There are multiple times in one page where I need to connect and subsequently query a MySQL database, yet my code won't let me. I think it might be something to do with how my files are nested but it makes no sense. I am opening the SQL connection in the header file.   Hi there . I'm confusing about opening different threads with OpenThread Function and examining them with NtQueryInformationThread native function . I have no problem with NtQueryInformationThread & I can examine them finely. the problem is I don't know how to loop through different number of threads using OpenThread (with SetDebugPrivilege Consideration) . suppose we have different threads from number 5100 to 5200 & we want to examine them sequentially : for example 5100, 5101, 5102, 5103, 5104, 5105 ... 5200 ... . I don't know how to use OpenThread Function in delphi in right way ... . I'm using this syntax & I found it wrong : OpenThread(THREAD_ALL_ACCESS,false,(DWORD)5100) . if anyone could guide me how to use OpenThread though different number of threads it would be great . thanks alot .

  Hi, I have a game I am making, it is giving me this message... "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in game.exe" To explain...I have a 2D array with 9 different opening moves and I am getting a random number to use as the array reference to retrieve the details needed for a move... you may get the same move again - but that's illegal. the move may be illegal for other reasons too So to try and fix this, I am calling the function again from within the function. The error occurs very randomly Is this bad practise to call a function from within itself? What would be a better way to randomly row from a 2D array, AND if it isn't accept to get another one.... Or better still, how can I retrieve a random LEGAL move?

• Are SqlCipher open cursors a security concern?

  I'm using SqlCipher with content providers. Right now, when I want to lock the app I just clear out the cached password. However, the app can continue to work with any open cursors. This means that re-opening the app grants access to the sensitive data. I fix this issue on the surface by redirecting to a login screen if the app doesn't have passwords. However, I'm concerned if there are any security issues with these open cursors or if I should just continue to block UI access and not worry? SqlCipher's docs say that it reads/writes encrypted pages on the fly, as opposed to decrypting the entire DB, this makes me think that open cursors are still secure. The main concern here is that someone loses their phone and then a knowledgeable individual can use these open cursors to extract sensitive data.

• Open Folder within ClearCase Remote Client using Windows Explorer

  Is there a way to open the folder location of a file from within CCRC? While I know I can open/copy from directly within CCRC, it is often useful to work directly with the file from within Windows Explorer. I am looking for something like "open file location" or "open in windows explorer". The folder within CCRC does not appear to allow opening it directly as the double-mouse-click action just expands the tree listing. The path is listed/copyable within the "ClearCase Details" tab, but I am trying to take my laziness to a whole new level by being able to open the folder with a single click.   I'm having an inconsistency when compiling a DLL (let's call it x.dll) by calling cl.exe obj1.obj obj2.obj ... lib1.lib lib2.lib ... /link /out:x.dll /dll /debug and When using the IDE (which calls link directly, I believe). Let's say lib1.lib is an import library for lib1.dll. Opening the DLL generated by calling cl.exe in the depency walker shows it depends on lib1.dll. However, when using the IDE, the generated program is smaller and does not depend on lib1.dll. This IDE-generated image makes the program that uses x.dll crash sometimes. The question is: how do I get the correct behaviour from the IDE?

  I was considering diff Document Tracking options and came across DocTracking.com. DocTracking.com allows you to upload documents (PDF Word etc) and adds some kind of invisible tracking to it and returns the document to you which can then be used just like you would use the document otherwise. This tracking tells you when your documents were opened, who opened them (IP), geo-location of opening if they are re-opened or forwarded, what pages were read and how long it was read for, what was printed. Any leads on how this could be done would be appreciated.

• MySQL User AutoIncrement Permissions Restriction

  I have two databases that need to have their auto increment ids on various tables synced. Right now, I have a PHP function that checks the current auto increment id for both tables and then sets the lowest to the highest. If there is a better way to do this, I'm all ears. I really don't want to give the web user alter permissions, as a SQL injection could clear all passwords (or something else silly). Is there any way to restrict a MySQL user to changing auto increment without opening it up to alter statements?

Suppose I have an app say XYZ installed in an android phone and than I receive an email from the mail server which contains a link like http://XYZ.com/?params(i.e. X=1&Y=2&Z=3) now on click of this link I want to open the XYZ app if it is installed in the phone and in the Activity I would like to get these parameters X,Y and Z and if the app is not installed user should be redirected to play store for downloading XYZ app and after installation app takes charge and behaves as if it was already installed (Opening the first activity with those parameters). How can I achieve that ? I have no idea where to start so even the smallest pointer in right direction will be of great help.

One processes is redirecting output of some unix command to a file on server side.the data is always appended to the file eg : find / > tmp.txt 2.)Another process is opening and reading the same file and storing it in a string and sending the entire string to the client Now, this things take simultaneously.
