• Mono 2.11 on nginx using fastcgi-mono-server4 will not work

  I have mono 2.11 set up with my nginx 1.0.15 webserver running on centos 6.2. I built it from source and xps2, xps4 and fastcgi-mono-server2 work as expected. The problem is when I try and run fastcgi-mono-server4. However, if I run php -a, it works: php > echo `fortune`; Be careful of reading health books, you might die of a misprint. -- Mark Twain php > Am I missing a config directive or something that would cause this? Edit: So, I tried running my script using $ php-cgi fortunetest.php and it worked as expected. Maybe the issue is with Apache2?

  I'm setting up a new web server that hosts a dozen virtual hosts on Ubuntu 12.4 using Apache 2.2.22 with one config file per site. I created all the configuration files all at once and ran a2ensite * to enable them all at once. When I reloaded the configuration it failed and after restarting apache I found the following error message in my error.log: Oops, no RSA or DSA server certificate found for 'server.host.name:0'?! • Enabling fastCGI for php in PLESK 9.3 or use ningx

  I have a server that runs PLESK. I can set php to use 3 options: apache module, fastCGI application, cgi application And i have a different option that just says enable fastCGI support. Which option is the best to choose from? I run an php application with mysql and some ajax. Heavy reads and writes, it is a busy website. Second thing is will there be much difference if i install nginx to work with this. there is some sort of hack i can use to make ningx work on port 80 and apache on port 8080. I don't know if this is worth my while. thanks for your time folks!

  I had been practicing ASP on my local machine.. I just wanted to change the TCP port address to 8080 and that is what I did, since then the URL "http://localhost/" is showing PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED, and technical reason being shown is : "You have attempted to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be executed." I tried to change back the TCP port address to 80, (which is default) but its not making any difference. What should I do now, to make localhost to work as before ? When I create a virtual directory for the same path "C:/InetPub/wwwroot" then it works but with this URL "http://localhost/virualname/filename.asp" .. where as "http://localhost/filename.asp" throws error, as mentioned above. • Mercurial hgwebdir configuration URL

  I'm setting up an hgwebdir configuration for the first time with Mercurial on apache2. I can see the three repositories I've set up in the first page, and I've figured out how to modify their names so they don't resemble the directory path. But when I click to go to one of the repositories, the URL becomes http://localhost/hg/hgweb.cgi/path/to/repos. I would like the directory to be http://localhost/hg/name instead as that is easier to remember for people who want to clone the repository. Is there anyway to do that with hgwebdir?

• IIS 7.5 default permission - is restriction needed?

  I am using IIS 7.5 and I do not need to explicitly specify permissions for my ISAPI application to execute. Additionally, the application can create subdirectories, create and delete files without me specifying permissions. Since I am using the default permissions, checked to see if web.config was safe from prying eyes over the web, and it can’t be read which is good. My app also creates some .log and .ini files which are also not viewable over the web. I did notice that .txt files are viewable. I really don’t know how default permissions allow my app to do so much. Is this safe or do I need to lock down? To be honest, I don’t know what accounts to restrict. App details: My ISAPI has an ‘allowed’ entry in ISAPI and CGI Restrictions Folder and subfolders containing my application has ‘default’ permissions set. Application pool is using ‘classic’ pipeline mode and no managed code. Pass-through authentication in use. Thank you for your time

  Hello. I wonder if there is a good guide on how to setup Apache + SuExec + php-fpm? I have a server which I am going to use several separate website. So, I need php to be run as site-owner user. As I can see, php-fpm is a little different from php-fcgi. Is there a need in mod_fcgid from Apache in this case? How to set this all up? For now my site is running Apache + mod_suphp + php-cgi, so... it's good, but a little slow. I want to preserve security and gain an ability to use APC.

  Hi guys, I am working on a iptables rule to apply after my shorewall script has initialized my firewall. I want a spicific IP (10.0.1.19) address in my lan to be redirected to 10.0.64.1 except if it is going to paypal. • Can not run ifconfig like commands via browser

  Hi, Problem is I cannot run "ifconfig" or similar commands via browser. Environment: Programming language : python Server : lighttpd(CGI) , running on busybox. Well machine is really small and so I am really restricted. Tried techniques: chown every script to root. But there is no differences. Why? Because lighttpd runs under another user, I mean not under root. As it is not root, when I try to run script from browser it always calls the python file with its uid. So it makes it impossible to run "ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.123" like commands via web browser. I get "ifconfig: SIOCSIFADDR: Permission denied" error. What can I do? I do not have any sudoers file, so cannot modify sudo command. Well, I don't even have "sudo" command :) Thanks for your help

• XSP2 hangs after some time

  I'm running a REST/JSON webservice (SVC) using xsp2 (and xsp2 through Apache/mod_mono). After some hours, the service just hangs and outputs a timeout after about 5 minutes. This can only be solved by restarting xsp2. Sometimes multiple restarts are needed to get it running again. I've made a small sample webservice simply returning a "pong". • Running PHP 5.2 FastCGI + Apache on CentOS 5 issue

  I am trying to setup 2 versions of PHP on Centos 5.9 using this tutorial: http://linuxplayer.org/2011/05/intall-multiple-version-of-php-on-one-server. I have followed I have installed default 5.4.19, and I was trying to setup another 5.2.17 PHP version to be run with Fast CGI and I followed the second part completely. However, when I try to run http://web2.example.com it returns 500 error message. In the apache log there are only 2 lines that repeat: [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/web2/index.php with wrapper /usr/local/php52/bin/fcgiwrapper.sh and [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/web2/index.php(25250) exit(server exited), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 255 Please note that I had to add .php at the and of the FCGIWrapper because apache would not start without it: FCGIWrapper /usr/local/php52/bin/fcgiwrapper.sh .php Also please note that http://web1.example.com with PHP 5.4.19 is working absolutely fine. • taskmgr.exe - Wrong Volume

  The other day my girlfriend used my computer to use one of those additional resource CD's that come with text books. This particular CD worked by acting like what seemed like a web server that hosted a site that the student is supposed to use (cgi-bin, python scripts...the whole deal). Today, I opened task manager to shut down some rogue IE's and got the following in an error popup with the title taskmgr.exe - Wrong Volume and Cancel/Try Again/Continue buttons: The wrong volume is in the drive. Please insert volume DosageCalc into drive D: (FYI: DosageCalc = nursing student) Clicking Cancel or Continue lets me continue to task manager. The CD hasn't been in the drive for days and I've used it since then with no problems. Where could task manager be holding onto this reference? My guess would be the registry somewhere...but I don't even know where to begin looking.

  I want to start learning Python - and I'm having trouble getting scripts to load up in a browser (using Wamp). So far I've tried the following: 1: add the following lines to httpd.conf: AddHandler cgi-script .py Options ExecCGI I navigate to localhost/path/to/script/myscript.py but get an Internal Server error. 2: downloaded mod_wsgi-win32-ap22py26-3.0.so - renamed to mod_wsgi (running Wamp with Apache 2.2) added the following lines to httpd.conf AddHandler mod_wsgi .py WSGIScriptAlias /wsgi/ "path/to/my/pythonscripts/folder/" but when I navigate to the script - it renders the script in it's entirety i.e. #!c:/Python26/python.exe -u print "hello world" I managed to get CherryPy working, but ideally I want to learn the language in a relatively raw context before digging into a framework. Can anyone give me some pointers?

• Virtualmin deactivating PHP on new virtual servers

  This is related to my other question... but the situation is much worse now. After updating to the most recent version of Virtualmin, when I create new accounts, Virtualmin sets up their VirtualHost entries as follows: <Directory /home/username/public_html> Options -Indexes +IncludesNOEXEC +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI allow from all AllowOverride All AddHandler fcgid-script .php FCGIWrapper /home/username/fcgi-bin/php.fcgi .php </Directory> <Directory /home/username/cgi-bin> allow from all </Directory> [...] RemoveHandler .php Now, not only is it specifically inserting AddHandler fcgid-script and FCGIWrapper... which I do not want because I am using mod_fastcgi, but it's also setting up PHP in such a way that it will never work! It's adding a RemoveHandler .php after setting up the handler for PHP! Where is this behavior configured and how can I stop it? Better yet, how can I make Virtualmin not include any PHP commands at all in the VirtualHost section?
