    Hello, I have some JSON of which the following is a small sample: results": { "div": [ { "class": "sylEntry", "id": "sylOne", "div": [ { "class": "sT", "id": "sOT", "p": "Mon 11/17, Computer work time" }, { "class": "des", "id": "dOne", "p": "All classes Siebel 0218" } ] }, I would like to only retrieve the "p" content for the div element with class "sT". I would like to use a loop and doing something like this: var arrayOfResults = $.results..div.p does not work because I only want to retrieve the p value for the div element with class "sT". So how do I construct my JSONpath so that it will retrive the array of p elements that are contained within the divs class "sT". Thanks!!

I need to find CountryID in the datatable based on the user input country name. I could just open a connection with DB and run the query select countryID from Country where countryName = @userinput.     I have a page with a form on it and needs a range of dates. Thus I've placed a number of textboxes on the page into which users can type dates. When the user clicks the save button I want to trigger a LINQ update to the SQL Server...all the rows already exist, so I'm just updating existing data. How can I do this? For example, lets say my table looks like this: Column Names: Description dateValue Column Values: Birthdate 1/1/1990 Anniversary 1/10/1992 Death 1/1/1993 I want to do something like this: hupdate.Description("Birthdate").dateValue = TextBox1.Text hupdate.Description("Anniversary").dateValue = TextBox2.Text hupdate.Description("Death").dateValue = TextBox3.Text hconfig.SubmitChanges() Is there a way to do this with LINQ?

  • jQuery Selectors: how to access an a tag, whose span has a specific class?

    I'm messing around with FullCalendar jQuery calendar, and qTips, so that I can display more information about the event upon mouseover. I've added a summary element to the FullCalendar js, and also my server code. I then added a new qTip in the eventMouseover method, based on the span class, which works prefectly. However, if the event stretches over a couple of days, the qTip only works (because it is a span tag), on the text itself, not the entire blue strip. What I want to do is to assign the qTip to the a tag, and make the a tags display block. This works currently: eventMouseover: function(event){ $('span[class=fc-event-title]').each(function() { if( $(this).text() == event.title ) { $(this).qtip({ content: event.summary, style: { border: { width: 1, radius: 5, color: '#6699CC' }, width: 200 } }); } }); but I can't figure out how to select the a tag where it contains a span with class of fc-event-title. How can this be achieved using XSL? EDIT: The input can have any structure and not exactly the same as seen in the sample input.     Suppose I have three models: Student, SchoolClass, and DayOfWeek. There is a HABTM relationship between Student and SchoolClass, and between SchoolClass and DayOfWeek. What I'd like to do is find all school classes belonging to a given student that meet on Monday. Now I suppose I could do something like: @student = Student.find(:student_id) @student_classes = @student.school_classes.find(:all) @student_classes_on_monday = Array.new @student_classes.each do |student_class| if student_class.day_of_week.include?("Monday") @student_classes_on_monday << student_class end end But there has to be a more elegant way.   • Which programming language to choose? (for a specific problem/domain, details inside)

    I am building a trading portfolio management system that is responsible for production, optimization, and simulation of non-high frequency trading portfolios (dealing with 1min or 3min bars of data, not tick data). I plan on employing Amazon web services to take on the entire load of the application. I have four choices that I am considering as language. a) Java b) C++ c) C# d) Python Here is the scope of the extremes of the project scope. This isn't how it will be, maybe ever, but it's within the scope of the requirements: Weekly simulation of 10,000,000 trading systems. (Each trading system is expected to have its own data mining methods, including feature selection algorithms which are extremely computationally-expensive. Imagine 500-5000 features using wrappers. These are not run often by any means, but it's still a consideration) Real-time production of portfolio w/ 100,000 trading strategies Taking in 1 min or 3 min data from every stock/futures market around the globe (approx 100,000) Portfolio optimization of portfolios with up to 100,000 strategies. (rather intensive algorithm) Speed is a concern, but I believe that Java can handle the load. I just want to make sure that Java CAN handle the above requirements comfortably. I don't want to do the project in C++, but I will if it's required. The reason C# is on there is because I thought it was a good alternative to Java, even though I don't like Windows at all and would prefer Java if all things are the same. Python - I've read somethings on PyPy and pyscho that claim python can be optimized with JIT compiling to run at near C-like speeds.... That's pretty much the only reason it is on this list, besides that fact that Python is a great language and would probably be the most enjoyable language to code in, which is not a factor at all for this project, but a perk. To sum up: - real time production - weekly simulations of a large number of systems - weekly/monthly optimizations of portfolios - large numbers of connections to collect data from There is no dealing with millisecond or even second based trades. The only consideration is if Java can possibly deal with this kind of load when spread out of a necessary amount of EC2 servers. Thank you guys so much for your wisdom.

    I would like to check to see if there are any keys in $_POST that contain a string. The string will not be the full key, only part of the key. (ie. search string = "delRowID", $_POST key = "delRowID_16"). I have tried to use array_keys($_POST,"delRowID"), but it has never returned anything. My scenario is, that I'm letting my (future) users create "rich content" (using CK-editor).   • Determine if a specific activity in an application can be launched...

    Applications can have any number of launchable activities. I know how to get the list of these activities via PackageManager. Is there a way to determine which activities can be launched via startActivity? For example, the Documents To Go app has different activities that will start Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, etc... I am able to launch all o these just fine. However, it also contains some activities that I am not able to launch with startActivity... If I attempt to do this I get a SecurityException. I want to be able to determine which activities I can safely launch and which I cannot so I only present the user with a list of activities that I can safely launch from within my application... Is this possible?

I'd like to calculate averages and sums of the stored values for this activerecord model on a daily basis. All records are stored in UTC. What's the correct way to sum and average values for, e.g., the previous day from midnight to midnight EST? I can do this in sql but don't know the "rails way" to make this calculation.

    So here's the scenario, I'm building a theme that would display sub category of a parent post for Food: [Food] -Hotdog -Eggs -Fries for Toys: [Toys] -Doll -Car -Drums for People: [People] -Mom -Dad -Uncle now I don't want to display their parent category, just their subcategory (eg Doll, Car, Drums). I've looked list_cats() and wp_list_categories() but I can't figure out how to display it right. Thanks!

    Is there a simple way to recursively find all files in a directory hierarchy, that do not end in a list of extensions? E.g. all files that are not *.dll or *.exe UNIX/GNU find, powerful as it is, doesn't seem to have an exclude mode (or I'm missing it), and I've always found it hard to use regular expressions to find things that don't match a particular expression. I'm in a Windows environment (using the GnuWin32 port of most GNU tools), so I'm equally open for Windows-only solutions.

    Hi, I am trying to transform my Outlook2003 into the closest thing to gmail. I started to use categories, which are pretty similar to labels in gmail. I can assign categories automatically with rules, and I can add categories manually. I have also created "search folders", that show all mails with a given category, if they are not in the Deleted Items or Sent Items folders. This part is almost like the Label views in gmail. Two things are missing basically, which should be done with macros (VBA to be precise) which I'm totally inexperienced with. So hence my questions: -Can someone show me a macro to remove the category "Inbox"? That would act exactly like the Archive button in gmail. In fact I want to assign this macro to a toolbar button and call it Archive. I have a rule that adds the Inbox category to all incoming mail. As I said, I have a search folder displaying all mails categorized as Inbox, and I also have an All Mail search folder, that displays all messages regardless whether they have the Inbox category. Exactly like gmail, just the easy archiving is missing. -Can someone show me a macro that would delete the selected mail/mails and also would remove the Inbox category before deletion? I would replace the default delete button with this macro. (Somewhat less important, as in my search folders I can filter messages that are physically placed in the Deleted Items folder, but it would be more elegant not to have mails categorized as Inbox in the trash.   • Some specific questions about object oriented and MVC design.

    I have two objects, Users and Mail. Users create Mail objects and send them to other users. If I wanted to get all mail for a User, I could create a method like GetMail() that would return an array of Mail objects owned by that User. But if I wanted to get all mail across the system, what "type" of object would be responsible for that? To solve this problem, I usually create a Manager, which is an object responsible for dealing with a collection of a particular type of object. MailManager deals with collections of Mail objects. GetMailForUser() is one method, GetAllMail() is another method. The User objects invokes the MailManager and executes GetMailForUser(me). Is this stupid? When a user executes the controller CreateMail, a new instance of the Mail object is created. The Mail object, seeing it is creating a new Mail of type 'sent', decides to go ahead and create a second Mail object for the recipient, of type 'received'. Creating one Mail object triggers the creation of a second Mail object. Is this stupid? Should the controller have created both Mail objects, or just the first 'sent' one? When two Users are friends, the association is stored in a table of Relationships. I use a simple object for Relationships. A RelationshipManager has a method called GetFriendsForUser(). The User object has a method GetFriends(), which invokes the RelationshipManager. Is this stupid?
