I'm selling software online and would love to know what everyone else is using for licensing and protection. I know Armadillo is popular, as is EXECrypter, but what else is out there?
I'm looking for a comparison of the features of mobile browsers. Most interesting are the default preinstalled browsers. I would love a matrix that shows what device line can do what with their preinstalled browser.
There is a list with rendering engines on wikipedia but there should be differences appart from the rendering right?

Has anyone played around with the architecture tools (uml diagrams, etc) in VS 2010 and if so what is your opinion? I really am liking Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect but am also curious about what is available in VS 2010. I'm not looking for responses about how much you hate Microsoft tools or love mircosoft tools, but more for answers about how useful VS2010 arc tools are for you.
I installed Typus plugin (http://intraducibles.com/projects/typus) for my app and I love it. But along the development of the app I frequently do migrations and change the DB Schema and relationships, and then the plugin fails. Is there a way to re-generate the plugin with the new schema? Thanks!
I love running as a standard user for its security pluses, my admin account is password protected.
The problem appears when I need to run a program that requires admin rights, is there a way to include the password somehow so I won't have to type it every time ? Without changing my current setup: admin password protected account and I log on to a limited standard user account.
I'm thinking of script or something like that ?
I'm in love with the function in Eclipse "assign to field". Basically, when I have
getString();
and I type ctrl-2, Eclipse converts this into
String getString = getString();
Is this possible in VS 2010?
I have found myself doing a lot of work to get nHibernate setup and am left wondering: Why use a framework like Hibernate/NHibernate? I am sure that quite a few people love the framework but I am unclear on the advantages and disadvantages. What are the advantages and disadvantages of lazy loading, and are there other features to Hibernate? Is there anything that makes a framework like this easier to use (best practices, other frameworks, etc)?
There is an epic lack of PHP cURL love on the Internet for beginners like me. I was wondering how to use cURL to download & display an ICS file (They're plain text to me...) in my PHP code. Unless fopen() is 1,000 times easier, I'd like to stick with cURL for this one.
When you were starting to program, what was the hardest concept for you to grasp? Was it recursion, pointers, linked lists, assignments, memory management?
I was wondering what gave you headaches and how you overcame this issue and learned to love the bomb, I mean understand it.
EDIT: As a followup, what helped you grok your hard-to-grasp concept?
I'd love to be able to try Mac OSX in a VM, preferable on something shiny and new like KVM for linux.
I'm a Linux and Windows person, but would like to try out OSX without investing in the expensive hardware or accumulating yet another box to fit somewhere under my desk. (Read: no I don't want to get a Mac Mini)
Is this possible? Legal? If so, what are the drawbacks and tricks
I love Resharper, but Fxcop is free, and does some bits Resharper does.
My question is what can do more to get best out of Fxcop?
I am using VS2008, and planning to upgrade to VS2010 next March hopefully.
Which will cover issues like, things I will need to know in advance, technical difficulties, how to scale/deal with increased load, marketing strategies even?! etc etc.
I love Getting Real by 37signals, your favorites?
EDIT: Question moved here
I use two monitors. The second one has a browser open. I use Visual studio in the first monitor and making edits to the web page.
Would love to press a key and instantly see the change in the browser. Basically doing a refresh in the browser behind the scene and still keep window focus in the editor. Instead of keep switching to the browser, refresh, switch back to VS.
Any better ideas than using a keyboard recorder like AutoPilot?
Greetings,
I will certainly hope someone will be able to provide some enlightenment to my problem.
Currently, I have 2 joomla sites, layout and menus are a replicate of the other.
I noticed that on both Joomla, I will occasionally encounter "Unable to send mail" after a form submission.
Is this the fault of my server, or the fault of Joomla's PHP Mailer ? I will certainly love to approach my hosting company for a solution but I do not want to place a false accusation on them.
Hi All
I have a little app here, and I would love to be able to do my own stuff in Vista/Win7 when I shake the form.
Currently, when a form is shaken, it will restore/minimize everything else. But I want to change that behavior in my app only. So when my form is shaken, I could, for example, shuffle the playlist, or Clear the contents of a Canvas etc...
Is this possible?
Thank you
I want to build a simple application that looks up words against Wiktionary to see if they exist. Is there a standard API supported by the Wiktionary software that would let me do this? Alternatively, is there any way I can pull down the dictionary data that backs a Wiktionary? There are many international variants who's data I would love to put a different front-end around.
I am sure all coding pundits here will have one (or multiple) ways of spending some time-off between hectic coding sessions just to relax.
Would love to hear from you all as I am a newbie and want to take little breaks (non-physical) from coding and do things which actually help me focus again.
Thanks.
I have a regular HTML page with some images (just regular IMG HTML tags). I'd like to get their content, base64 encoded preferably, without the need to redownload the image (ie. it's already loaded by the browser, so now I want the content).
I'd love to achieve that with Greasemonkey and Firefox.
My father died recently and I've inherited his Mac. I'd love to put it to use in my own life, but I don't want to wipe its brains out just so I can reconfigure it to use in my network, etc. His old files are historically important to me—I trust you can understand my desire to keep them.
I can log in as I had an account on the machine before he passed, but that's about it.
I've no idea with command line stuff!
What i've done:
changed my php.ini to phar.require_hash - off
ran go-pear.bat
so i'm pretty sure i've got PEAR installed,
now I'd like to install this package
I've tried following the instructions but I really don't know how to do things with cmd.exe,
would love some help!
I love desktop and web programming, but I would like to be able to program some sort of small device I can then carry with me. Most mobile phones are quite hard to create programs for as they want you to buy the things they offer instead.
What mobile-phone/gameboy size devices would be suitable for my goal?
Hi All
I'm looking for any website(s) devoted and/or related to Operating System Development, and would love for you to kindly share any links you may have.
I have searched myself, but keep winding up at the same old sites, and am wondering if there are others that just don't get noticed by the major search engines or something.
I've put this as a community wiki, simply because I don't think it's very fair to judge an answer based on a single link.
Thank you.
Hi,
I'm trying to make a jquery tooltip that appears when a user mouses over a link. In my case the link is using display:block style so that it covers a large area. It works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox but in Internet Explorer it doesn't work at all. The tooltip doesn't show, the browsers own tooltip shows etc... IE!!!!

Any ideas? Got to love internet explorer...
