    Have you seen anything like this before? Not always but permanently shows up this strange behaviour. What's the name of that problem? And - ofcoz:) - how can I solve it? I tried: driver update full driver/app unsintall and Lenovo ThingVantage System Update turning aero off (... and everything works fine) monitor driver update (but only generic PNP monitor found) Configuration: Lenovo Thinkpad T400s (was Vista but clean Windows 7 install now) Windows 7 Professional (ENG) Mobile Inter 45 Express (WDDM 1.1) Thanx in advance!

  • Possible to IPSec VPN Tunnel Public IP Addresses?

    A customer uses an IBM SAS product over the internet. Traffic flows from the IBM hosting data center to the customer network through Juniper VPN appliances. IBM says they're not tunneling private IP addresses. IBM says they're tunneling public IP addresses. Is this possible? What does this look like in the VPN configuration and in the packets? I'd like to know what the source/destination ip/ports would look like in the encrypted tunneled IPSec Payload and in the IP packet carrying the IPSec Payload. IPSec Payload: source:1.1.1.101:1001 destination:2.2.2.101:2001 IP Packet: source:1.1.1.1:101 destination:2.2.2.1:201 Is it possible to send public IP addresses through an IPSec VPN tunnel? Is it possible for IBM to send a print job from a server on their network using the static-nat public address over a VPN to a printer at a customer network using the printer's static-nat public address? Or can a VPN not do this? Can a VPN only work with interesting traffic from and to private IP addresses?

    A hook is a process running to get data from another (more info), well the case was that I wanted to get the methods or functions using any application for access to a network, these methods are usually WSAConnect (), WSASendTo (), bind (), connect () and sendto () [these are the ones that need to get to the application]. I started testing, creating Runtime [Runtime.getRuntime (). exec (...)] with all possible methods [addShutdownHook (...);] and now I'm trying to ProcessBuilder [new ProcessBuilder (...);] and the famous BufferedReader [new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader (proceso.getInputStream ()));] but I could not find the way to do it.     From this article I have learnt, that DWM is enabled only with AERO: Let’s recall: without Aero turned on, the DWM is deactivated, so there’s also no more 2D acceleration, either (this applies equally to Windows 7 as it does to Vista) What is the easiest way to tell whether AERO / DWM on Win 7 is enabled / disabled? With some themes it is (visually) obvious, but with some others not (especially not when using remote access like VNC). Is there some dialog where I can see that AERO / DWM is enabled / disabled?

  • How low-power can a home server get?

    I've got quite simple question actually. How green, low-power and efficient x86 home server can I build using consumer parts with rather constrained budget. After looking through some Google hits I've found out that system based on dual-core atom, some modest mITX board (gigabit lan, integrated audio and gfx etc), one RAM module and one 'green' WD HDD, powered by picoITX PSU uses about 30W at idle up to 40 at load. Can you get lower (or how much lower) then that? Maybe some VIA nano chips, or single core atom? My home server would take care of some back-upping mixed with little ftp/http traffic.

  • ubuntu 10.04 logs itself out overnight

    Every night when I leave work, I lock the screen via ubuntu's "power" button in the top right hand panel. When I come to work in the morning, I'm greeted with the log-in screen.     It all started with a simple alias gv='gvim --remote-quiet' and now gv Space Tab gives nothing where it normally should give filenames. Oddly, alias gvi='gvim --remote-quiet' works as expected. Specifically, I’d like a to open a MS Word document and have my citation manager open simultaneously (EndNote supports this function within MS Word preferences, but I recently switched citation managers). I’d like to be able to open any existing Word document on my drive and trigger the second program. The same question was recently answered for the windows 7 environment.

  • Powerpoint template image placeholders can't send to back

    We want to be able to set up a PowerPoint 2007 template with a picture frame image. We then want to insert an image in normal view which would appear behind the picture frame image that was put in the template (so it looks logically like a picture in a picture frame). Problem is, when we insert the image in normal view it always appears on top of the picture frame image. It appears that you can't send to back when the other elements are included in a template. Any ideas?

This causes problems with some things (like Quicktime) so I want to repackage the file such that the stereo track is the first audio track. I don't want to re-encode things. Can I do this?   • Have VIM jump to a ctag in an existing tab

    I have ctags configured with my vim installation. My habit is to usually have all of the relevant files I'm working on open in tabs in vim all at once. The "problem" is that if I use Ctrl+] to jump to a ctag in a file I'm editing, it will replace the buffer in that tab, even though I have another tab already open containing that symbol. It would be much better if it just switched to that tab and jumped to the symbol there instead. This way I would always have a 1-to-1 tab-to-file ratio. I noticed in the Changenotes for the taglist.vim plugin (which I also use) has an entry that says 1. Added support for jumping to a tag/file in a new or existing tab from the taglist window (works only with Vim7 and above). However, I couldn't find anything in the documentation for Taglist (or Ctags) about how to actually do this. Can any vim gurus fill me in? Thanks!

  • How to edit CSV file without changing or formatting values (ideally in Neo/Open-Office)?

    I often need to edit CSV files that will later be imported into databases. I need to reorder columns, change values, delete lines, etc. I use NeoOffice for this now - it's basically Open Office with some Mac UI stuff tweaked. Often, though NeoOffice tries to be "helpful" and reformats fields it thinks are dates, rounds numbers to some number of decimals, etc. This breaks the file import and/or changes important data values. How can I prevent this from happening? I need to edit the fields exactly as they would appear in a text editor, with absolutely no changes to the data in the fields.

  • New power supply and now HDDs are not recognized.

    So I upgraded to a new X4 ULTRA power supply that was recommended to me by a local TigerDirect store. After installing it along with a new liquid cooling system, I booted it up and it automatically fried my CD Drive. After that I noticed that the OS wouldn't start and figured out that none of the 4 HDDs in my computer were being recognized by the BIOS. I feel them spool at a steady pace and have tried new cables and connections but to no avail. I triple checked all of the connections and cables and have no idea what is wrong. This isn't the first time I changed a PS or CPU cooling system but I am at a dead end. Any ideas, aside from buying a USB HDD reader and seeing if they are all fried? Also, this is a stock Gateway mobo with the mobo USB connections already dead. Could the new PS have fried the SATA connections??

The twist is that we need to be able to change the key combination that opens the door from a website. It needs to allow me to programmatically change the key combination required to open the door without somebody physically going there to do it.   • How to have file/folder icons use a relative path?

    On my portable hard drive I set icons for almost every organized folder. All these icons are located in an Icons folder located on the root directory of the same hard drive. When I change the drive letter of the hard drive (well I don't, windows does automatically sometimes) these icons are lost. So far this hard drive is assigned to F: While it's not a problem now, it may becomes a problem if I upgrade my computer or get a new one and the F: Drive is already taken up for something else. It's also annoying on networks where F: is mapped to a network drive.
