• Counting elements and reading attributes with .net2.0 ?

  I have an application that is on .net 2.0 and I am having some difficult with it as I am more use to linq. How could I count how many "file" ELEMENTS I have (count them before entering the foreach ofc) and read their attributes ? I need the count because it will be used to update the progress bar. Overall it is not reading my xml very well.

• Is it possible to execute a function in Mongo that accepts any parameters?

  I'm looking to write a function to do a custom query on a collection in Mongo. Problem is, I want to reuse that function. My thought was this (obviously contrived): var awesome = function(count) { return function() { return this.size == parseInt(count); }; } So then I could do something along the lines of: db.collection.find(awesome(5)); However, I get this error: error: { "$err" : "error on invocation of $where function: JS Error: ReferenceError: count is not defined nofile_b:1" } So, it looks like Mongo isn't honoring scope, but I'm really not sure why. Any insight would be appreciated. To go into more depth of what I'd like to do: A collection of documents has lat/lng values, and I want to find all documents within a concave or convex polygon. I have the function written but would ideally be able to reuse the function, so I want to pass in an array of points composing my polygon to the function I execute on Mongo's end. I've looked at Mongo's geospatial querying and it currently on supports circle and box queries - I need something more complex.

  I am working on a traditional WebForms project. In the project I am trying out some Linq datasources with plans to eventually migrate to an MVC architecture. I am still very new to Linq. I have a GridView using a Linq datasource. The entities I am showing has a to many relationship and I would like to get the maximum value of a column in the many side of the relationship. Could you suggest how to change a function or perhaps to change litteral to JSON array to get it work?! And at the end to get 'm' and 'n' values as numbers.

• Can I use a keyPath in a predicate?

  For some reason, this didn't work (although the keypath does exist): NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"department.departmentName == %@", departmentName]; [fetchRequest setPredicate:predicate]; NSError *fetchError = nil; NSUInteger count = [moc countForFetchRequest:fetchRequest error:&fetchError]; // execution simply stops at this line, with no error or console log Execution just stops at the last line above when asking for the count. I don't get an console log. Also I don't get any kind of exception. The execution just stops. There are no objects in the persistent store yet. So maybe it crashes because of it tries to follow a keypath in a nonexisting object? Does that make sense? The line where GDB stops is this: 0x002a31cb <+0459> test %eax,%eax Previously to that, I see a lot of NSSQLAdapter... calls in the stack trace. There's definitely something wrong. Well, but when I set the Entity to the destination of the key path and then just do something like NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"departmentName == %@", departmentName]; then there is no problem and count simply is 0.

  Hello, I was looking at the pagination script (posted below) and found it to be gros,s and not very good at all especially when trying to customize it. I am trying to put something like this on a separate page like count_page.php and then just include it. I guess my question is, if there is a better way of doing the above with better structure. A better way to go through the db and count the results and display the appropriate numbers. The above seems messy. Thanks for any help or suggestions on this.

So what I really want is Dynamic Prepared Statements, which is troublesome to make because bind_param and bind_result accept "fixed" number of arguments. So I made use of an eval() statement to get around this problem. But I get the feeling this is a bad idea. It also notes instantiated form at (struct structure *) and struct structure *. This, what seems to be getting assigned to s is int (struct structure *). It compiles fine when parentheses are removed from (struct structure *), but the structures that are supposed to be initialized are inaccessible. Why is int assumed when parentheses are around the type argument passed to va_arg? How can I fix this?

• Finding character in String in Vector.

  Judging from the title, I kinda did my program in a fairly complicated way. BUT! I might as well ask anyway xD This is a simple program I did in response to question 3-3 of Accelerated C++, which is an awesome book in my opinion. I created a vector: vector<string> countEm; That accepts all valid strings. Therefore, I have a vector that contains elements of strings. Next, I created a function int toLowerWords( vector<string> &vec ) { for( int loop = 0; loop < vec.size(); loop++ ) transform( vec[loop].begin(), vec[loop].end(), vec[loop].begin(), ::tolower ); that splits the input into all lowercase characters for easier counting. So far, so good. I created a third and final function to actually count the words, and that's where I'm stuck. int counter( vector<string> &vec ) { for( int loop = 0; loop < vec.size(); loop++ ) for( int secLoop = 0; secLoop < vec[loop].size(); secLoop++ ) { if( vec[loop][secLoop] == ' ' ) That just looks ridiculous. Using a two-dimensional array to call on the characters of the vector until I find a space. Ridiculous. I don't believe that this is an elegant or even viable solution. If it was a viable solution, I would then backtrack from the space and copy all characters I've found in a separate vector and count those. My question then is. How can I dissect a vector of strings into separate words so that I can actually count them? I thought about using strchr, but it didn't give me any epiphanies.

• problem in working with thread

  Ihave the tree view in which i have file system of logical disk. When user select some files and folders and press button programm evaluate the size of selected files and folders. this function may takes a long time. i decide do thread which will run this function. This function works with array of TreeNode. but then i want to now was it node expaned or not compiler say: "attempt to access control "treeview1" not from the thread, in which it was created." Why it appeared? • Create a Task list, with tasks without executing

  I have an async method private async Task DoSomething(CancellationToken token) a list of Tasks private List<Task> workers = new List<Task>(); and I have to create N threads that runs that method public void CreateThreads(int n) { tokenSource = new CancellationTokenSource(); token = tokenSource.Token; for (int i = 0; i < n; i++) { workers.Add(DoSomething(token)); } } but the problem is that those have to run at a given time public async Task StartAllWorkers() { if (0 < workers.Count) { try { while (0 < workers.Count) { Task finishedWorker = await Task.WhenAny(workers.ToArray()); workers.Remove(finishedWorker); finishedWorker.Dispose(); } if (workers.Count == 0) { tokenSource = null; } } catch (OperationCanceledException) { throw; } } } but actually they run when i call the CreateThreads Method (before the StartAllWorkers). I searched for keywords and problems like mine but couldn't find anything about stopping the task from running. I've tried a lot of different aproaches but anything that could solve my problem entirely. For example, moving the code from DoSomething into a workers.Add(new Task(async () => { }, token)); would run the StartAllWorkers(), but the threads will never actually start. There is another method for calling the tokenSource.Cancel().
