    Is there a way to convert a date to a string in Sqlite? For example I am trying to get the min date in Sqlite: SELECT MIN(StartDate) AS MinDate FROM TableName I know in SQL Server I would use the SQL below to accomplish what I am trying to do: SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), MIN(StartDate), 101) AS MinDate FROM TableName Thanks!

    It was very amusing going to PASS and the MVP summit this year and people coming up to me asking how my baby was. Well thats not so amusing, how they know I‘ve got a baby is. During the last 24hrs of PASS my wife was overdue having our 3rd child, she had gone out and so I was on alert if the phone rang. Guess what it rang half way through my presentation on reporting services tips and tricks, luckily it wasn’t my wife but we did have the baby the next day. That was close.   • Convert SQL server datetime fields to compare date parts only, with indexed lookups

    I've been doing a convert(varchar,datefield,112) on each date field that I'm using in 'between' queries in SQL server to ensure that I'm only accounting for dates and not missing any based on the time part of datetime fields. Now, I'm hearing that the converts aren't indexable and that there are better methods, in SQL Server 2005, to compare the date part of datetimes in a query to determine if dates fall in a range. What is the optimal, indexable, method of doing something like this: select * from appointments where appointmentDate='08-01-2008' and appointmentDate<'08-15-2008'

I already did successfully a phone screening and now for the personal interview i suppose they will ask me about some kind of white board problem or system design task.   • Wireless speed drops over time and doesn't get up if not reconnected

    I am using Ubuntu 12.10 64bit and I have a Asus PCE-N15 wireless card(in PCI-E slot). The problem is that first when I connect to my WiFi network the speed is just fine, and actually my link speed never drops, it shows a solid 150mb/s+ link speed and good signal. But the download and upload speeds drop dramatically after couple minutes of use and I have to reconnect to fix this. Network is type IEEE 802.11bgn and uses WPA2/AES encryption. I don't have similar problems on the windows side, and the network is working fine on every other device. iwconfig shows this: wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:"WLAN-AP" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: 00:1E:AB:05:EF:31 Bit Rate=300 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr=2347 B Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off Link Quality=61/70 Signal level=-49 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:2 Missed beacon:0 So the question is: Is there a way to fix this?     I have this setup class User { Date lastLogin // logins is a history of logins static hasMany = [logins : Date] def setLastLogin(Date date) { if (date) { lastLogin = date addToLogins(date) } } } GORM is generating a table MEMBER_LOGINS which currently looks like this: USER_ID, LOGINS Instead I would like USER_ID, DATE I tried adding a mapping in User static mapping = { logins column: 'date'; } But that just changed the foreign key so i now have DATE, LOGINS How can I change the LOGINS column? I have made it so the object will move from one end of the screen to another at a speed depending on the screen size, at the monemt I have made it so it will take one second to pass the screen. So i have worked out the speed in code but when I go to assign the speed it tells me to force close and i do not understand why.   • Authorization pop-up requested by http://localhost:51675 every time I run Firefox

    Using Ubuntu 10.04. Whenever I run Firefox I get a pop up requesting authorisation. It says 'a user name and password are being requested by http://localhost:51675. The site says "server" I have tried all passwords I know and nothing is accepted. If I click 'cancel' it disappears but re-appears after about 5 minutes. This whole 'experience' is accompanied by a great deal of hard disc activity. Can anyone help with this?
