• Oracle scheduler job log output

  I'm using dbms_scheduler to execute a PL/SQL stored procedure. I would like to be able to have that code create some text logging output and associate it with the run to verify it's working, but I can't find anything to do that in the docs. Is there a facility to do this that I'm missing? This is an 11g database running under Unix. It would be real nice if I could use dbms_output so I could also run it from sqlplus and get output.

  I am trying to send terminal commands programmaticly from an android activity. Now for my question: Does anyone know how I can dump the terminal to a file and save it on the phone or sdcard? The program is tying into the terminal to feed it commands, I want to know a way to open a connection the otherway and access the (what is normally visual on a terminal screen) output.

  I have a large auditing stored procedure that prints values and runs some SELECT statements. When running within SQL Management Studio we have the use select to display "Results to Text" so all of the SQL results and print statement display in one place. Now I need to have some C# code also call this auditing procedure at the end of the process and basically store all data that would be in the "Results to Text" window into a .txt file. How can this be done?

• Cannot log in to the desktop on ubuntu 11.10?

  The problem is, I could log in under the terminal, i could ifup eth0, i could do anything I want in the terminal, but if I use ctrl+alt+f7 goto the gnome login screen, after I input the correct password, the system just send me back to same login screen again. I have created a new user, but it didn't work. I have change all the files under ~/ to jichao:jichao(which is my username) with chown -hR jichao:jichao /home/jichao, but it didn't work too. I searched the internet, somebody said I should see the logs under /var/log/gdm, but there is not a /var/log/gdm directory in my box. • Is there a general rule of thumb for which browsers to optimize your site for?

  I have a site (recently relaunched it with a new design) that I have put off optimizing for ie7 for far too long. I was just never too worried about it. The site is optimized for ie8-10, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, etc.. Then I asked myself, is it even worth it? I checked traffic over the last couple months before the relaunch and about 1.3% of the traffic is coming from ie7. So, is there a general cuttoff percentage when you would not optimize for a specific browser?

• Could it be more efficient for systems in general to do away with Stacks and just use Heap for memory management?

  It seems to me that everything that can be done with a stack can be done with the heap, but not everything that can be done with the heap can be done with the stack. Is that correct? Then for simplicity's sake, and even if we do lose a little amount of performance with certain workloads, couldn't it be better to just go with one standard (ie, the heap)? Think of the trade-off between modularity and performance. I know that isn't the best way to describe this scenario, but in general it seems that simplicity of understanding and design could be a better option even if there is a potential for better performance.

  I would like to create a generic logging solution for my stored procedures, allowing me to log the values of input parameters. Currently I am doing this more or less by hand and I am very unhappy with this approach. Ideally, I would like to say something like the following: "given my spid, what are my input parameters and their values?" This is the same information exposed to me when I run SQL Profiler -- the stored procedure's name, all input params and all input VALUES are listed for me. • C# Sharp Windows Application prevents Windows from shutting down / logging off

  I have written a C# Windows Forms application, not a service (it is only used when the user is logged in and has a graphical user interface) that has a background thread running in an infinite loop. When I try shutting down Windows (7) however, it tells me the program is preventing it from shutting down or logging off and asks me whether I want to force a shutdown. Now, is there any possibility for my program to become aware (get a handler) of Windows trying to quit it or to log off? So, what I need is to make the application realize when Windows tries to quit.   I need some help with an error I have not encountered before and can't seem to find anywhere. I am running PHP 5.3.0 on os x 10.6. This site seems to work on 5.2.11 on another Mac. Not really sure where to go next to debug it. • How can I make the Python logging output to be colored?

  Some time ago I saw a Mono application with colored output, probably because of it's log system, because all the messages were standardized. Now, Python has the logging module, and it let you specify a lot of options or customize it entirely, so I'm imagining that something like that would be possible too with Python, however I could not find it anywhere. Is there any way to make the Python logging module to output in color? What I want is for error messages to appear in red, for instance. Debug messages in blue or yellow, and so on. Of course this would probably only work on Linux, with compatible terminals (most modern terminals are), but I could fallback to the original logging output if color is not supported. Any ideas?

Another method is to create a new log Handler which can be passed a new log Formatter, but this doesn't seem right as I want to use the existing log handler that App Engine has installed. What is the right way to have extra information added to all log messages in python App Engine, but otherwise use the existing log format and sink?

  Yeah, mod_rewrite is driving me crazy. Here is the problem: my htaccess RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [L,QSA] when i try to access the page advantix (so address was www.mywebsite.com/advantix), i'm being redirected to advantix/?url=advantix Looking at the access log, i have a suspicious 301 in the middle "GET /advantix HTTP/1.1" 301 335 "-" "Mozilla/5.0" "GET /advantix/?url=advantix HTTP/1.1" 200 186 "-" "Mozilla/5.0" There is one important detail: advantix is a directory. So, if i comment that rule, advantix goes to the folder and list the files. Why it applies automatically the / if there's a folder matching? I don't want to reach the folder, i want to reach index.php?url=advantix with a call to advantix. I have the rewriteLogs too, but they didn't help more. My vhost conf has Directory tag with Options All, if helps, i don't know much about that.

• How to concatenate multiple lines of log file into single variable in batch file?

  I have a log file containing a stack trace split over a number of lines. I need to read this file into a batch file and remove all of the lines breaks. As a first step, I tried this: if exist "%log_dir%\Log.log" ( for /F "tokens=*" %%a in ("%log_dir%\Log.log") do @echo %%a ) My expectation was that this would echo out each line of the log file. I was then planning to concatenate these lines together and set that value in a variable. However, this code doesn't do what I would expect. I have tried changing the value of the options for delims and tokens, but the only output I can get is the absolute path to the log file and nothing from the contents of this file. How can I set a variable to be equal to the lines of text in a file with the line breaks removed?

• Drupal Error After Logging In

  Hello everyone. I'm kinda new to using drupal and i'm just wondering why I kind of get this error on my new site. See i have this website under WampServer running drupal6-16. Everytime I log in with my pre-created admin account 'admin01' pass: 'admin01' i get redirected to the WampServer localhost which appears to be unusual since the header does not have the WampServer logo. I already tried creating a new drupal website with the same database and the same thing happens. Also, I tried creating another website with a new database but I copied the other website's theme and other contents and the same thing happens. Help me please. I am losing my grip on this. :( Note: I have the same website running on one PC and i am just trying to run it on another PC by copying all its contents. The original copy is working perfectly but I can't seem to get the hook on my new copies to work on other PCs.

  I am currently crossing the jungle of SQL Server scale-out technologies like replication, log-shipping, mirroring... I have the following constraints on my choice: I want the read-only load to be spread accross the primary and the secondary (mirror, subscriber) server Write load can be sent directly to the primary server The solution should be nearly maintainance free. Schema changes should just replicate to the secondary server (attention: replication has some serious constraints here as it seems) Written data should be accessible very quickly (in under 1s, but better would be instantaneously) on the secondary server On server failure I can tollerate up to one hour of data loss easily.
