    I'm trying to customize a wordpress page to include an iframe which give the users a link to there download. We're using wordpress 2.9.2 with the Thesis theme 1.51. I've been trying to use thesis hooks but appears that the php is stripped from the output. Help? Suggested alternatives?   • jquery ui autocomplete not working in ie8 (until page refresh)

    Hello all, I am using jquery ui autocomplete it is working absolutely fine in all browsers except ie8. I have been doing some testing and there seems to be a strange bug. When I click on a link leading to the relevant page there is the following error generated by ie8 when I start typing in the autocomplete box: 'object doesn't support this property or method' this error points to my development jquery(1.4.2) file at line 4955, char 5 which is the following line: return new window.XMLHttpRequest(); However, if I simply reload the page the autocomplete works. I have added a random bit of data to be called with the autocomplete as I read that ie8 caches it ajax get requests but this does not seem to have solved the problem. Could there be a problem with the timing of the loading of all the relevant files including jquery? If so, how would I fix this? Any other clever ideas?! Andy

    Hello, I am developing a Silverlight client using the provided navigation template for an imageboard I developed. I have a "search" tab which lists all searches for tags which were executed. I also have a show post tab which shows (also in tab-form) posts, opened from the search tab. When I open a post from the search page, it instanciates a new control (of type UserControl) and inserts this into the ShowPost page's tabcontrol. When I switch (or get switched) to the Show Post view the layout is all messed up. The UserControl inside the tab does not stretch in the tab. When I switch tabs back and forth this is strangely fixed. The reason seems to be that the user control gets created there but has no layout to "fit to" until said layout is opened, which is too late then.     I have two Windows 2008 x86 servers running IIS 7.0, one site on each server; both sites are SSL-enabled, using DoD-issued certificates. Both sites are accessible via https over port 443, but fail the moment Client Certificates are set to Require or Accept. IIS log records error 500.0.64 but nothing else. I have several Windows 2008 IIS 7 x64 servers that require client certificates and they are working as expected; it's just the two x86 servers that are being problematic.

    I have photo gallery code that does image re-sizing and thumbnail creation. I use ImageMagick to do this. I ran a gallery page through Google's Page Speed tool and it revealed that the re-sized images and thumbnails both have about an extra 10KB of data (JPEG files specifically). What can I add to my scripts to optimize the file size? ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using the imagick::FILTER_LANCZOS filter with a blur setting of 0.9 when calling the resizeImage() function. JPEGs have a quality setting of 80.

    I found a really interesting peculiarity of Lynx while trying to write an application using bitcoin. The problem is that although the bitcoin site does not always open with modern browsers like Google Chrome or Firefox, it always opens using the Lynx browser. The same peculiarity appears with some other web-sites. I was wondering what the reason could be for this but was not able to come up with any. Any ideas, or this is just coincidence?

    I needed MVC 4 (and basic .NET 4.5) support so I downloaded mono 3.0.2 and deployed it on an lighttpd 1.4.28 installation, together with xsp-2.10.2 (was the latest I could find). After going through the config tutorials I managed to get the fastcgi server to spawn, but all pages are served empty. even if I go to nonexistant urls or direct .aspx files I get an empty HTTP 200 response.   • Javascript Noob: How to emulate slideshow on front page by automatically cycling through existing ho

    hey everyone. hope you could help me out am working on this website and i've finished all the hover effects i like - they're exactly how i want them to be: http://s5ent.brinkster.net/beta3.asp - try hovering over the four links and you'll see a very simple fade effect at work, which degrades into a regular css hover without javascript. what i plan to do is to make the page look like it had a fancy slideshow going on upon loading and while idle, and i wanted to achieve that by capitalizing on the existing hover styling/behavior of the main page links instead of using another script to create the effect from scratch. to do this i imagined i'll need a script that emulates a hover action on each link at regular time intervals once the page has loaded, starting from left to right (footcare, lawn & equipment, about us, contact us), looping through all 4 links indefinitely (footcare, lawn & equipment, about us, contact us, footcare, lawn& equipment, etc.) but pauses when any of them have been actually hovered over by a viewer and resumes from wherever the user left off upon mouseout. hope you get my drift... i also want to achieve this without unnecessarily disrupting the current html. so i guess everything will have to be done by scripting as much as possible.. i'm very new to javascript and jquery. as you can see at s5ent.brinkster.net/beta3.1-autohover.asp, the following script i made works wrong: it hovers-on all of them at the same time and doesn't hover-out anymore. when you try to actually hover into and out of each link the link just comes back on: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { var speed = 5000; var run = setInterval('rotate()', speed); }); function rotate() { $('.lilevel1 a').each(function(i) { $(this).mouseover(); }); } </script> it's just gross. aside from the fact that this last bit of script isn't even working in ie. could you please help me make this thing happen? that'd be really sweet, guys. i know there are tonsa geniuses out there who could whip this up in no time. or if you have a better way to go about it by all means kindly lemme know. thanks guys, hope you're all havin a blast.

    I am adding I18N to my rails application by passing the locale using url params. My urls are looking like http://example.com/en/users and http://example.com/ar/users (for the english and arabic locales respectively). In my routes file, I have defined my routes with a :path_prefix option: map.resources :users, :path_prefix => '/:locale' And locale is being set using a before_filter defined in ApplicationController def set_locale I18n.locale = params[:locale] end I also defined ApplicationController#default_url_options, to add locale to all urls generated by the application: def default_url_options(options={}) {:locale => I18n.locale} end What I want is to add a link in the layout header (displayed in all pages) that would link to the same page but with the other locale. For instance, if I am browsing the arabic locale, I want a "English" link in the header, that will redirect me back to my current page, and set the locale to english. Is there a way to do this in rails?

I don't have IE7 but I need to fix this issue because someone seen it in IE7 and it looks bad.   • Weird canvas/page size printing problem in Adobe Acrobat

    I am trying to print a document in Adobe Acrobat. For some reason, Acrobat wants to print my document smaller than it actually is, despite having chosen that I DO NOT want the image to be scaled: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?945fbb3f41.png See the grey area on the top and left of the preview? That's the area that's getting cut off. Notice that the whole preview (INCLUDING the gray areas) is 8.5x11 in. Also look at the paper size, a nice 8.5x11 in. This happens for any real printer I connect to my computer. However, printing to a "fake" software printer is not a problem: Printing to a software printer: Use the above link but change the image name to this: 769eaf59ab.png Any ideas? I've tried messing with the paper sizes but no luck. I can't use "Shrink to printable area" because ultimately I'm doing this to print to a preprinted form (the same issue occurs when I select "Form fields only" but this demonstrates it better).

    I start with describing the problem itself. Rather than a problem I'm looking for a better solution. I have a asp.net page which has a bunch of images and a link underneath it, Each image is infact the latest rendering of the link underneath it. I scheduled a bat script which runs every hour to fetch the images through IECapt a web page rendering capture utility. One thing am annoyed about this utility is it takes a lot of time for the 20 images I have and for few because of the flash content it misses to take the actual screenshot of the website. Now I like to know can this rendering be done by traditional programming am not interested in using any utilities. I'm interested in trying this. The solution need not be necessarily a C# based am ready to try in any other language. Because it gives me a chance to learn. Thank you.

All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? (I dont know classic ASP much) From the time I was introduced to this setup, I started to worry whether this setup is flawless? Is there any better way to handle the same ?     Hello! My main issue is that I want to display an custom error page when an uploaded file exceeds allowed size (maxRequestLength in web.config). When the big file is uploaded an HttpException is thrown before my upload action method in the controller is invoked. This is expected. I have tried to catch the exception in a custom attribute and also to override OnException in the controller. Why isnt it possible to catch the exception in either the attribute or the OnException method? Its possible though to catch the exception in Application_Error in global.asax but neither Response.Redirect nor Server.Transfer works for redirecting to the custom error page. Server.Transfer gives the "failed to process child request" error and response.redirect gives the "Http headers already sent" error. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Marcus

  • Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock problem in chrome, not registering

    Hello! I am using Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock to register a variable that tells the site to show something for the user (Don't need to get in to what is show). I am going to try to use RegisterStartupScript instead and see if i get any other result, i will get back on that. In my site i use jquery to look for that variable and do something if it exists. This works very well in IE 6,7,8 & FF but not in Chrome. In Chrome it works sometimes but most of the time it does not work, the variable does not get inserted on the page. The variable is beeing inserted in the Page_PreRender. Someone that has got a workaround for this or have experienced the same problem? Thanks
