  • In Objective C, what's the best way to extract multiple substrings of text around multiple patterns?

    For one NSString, I have N pattern strings. I'd like to extract substrings "around" the pattern matches. So, if i have "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" and my patterns are "brown" and "lazy" i would like to get "quick brown fox" and "the lazy dog." However, the substrings don't necessarily need to be delimited by whitespace. I have a hunch that there's a very easy solution to this, but I admit a disturbing lack of knowledge of Objective C string functions.

    Hi, this is probably the really newbie question (well, I'm pretty sure it is), but I have a float that's being returned and I need a quick and efficient way of turning it into an int. Pretty simple, but I have an exception. If the remainder of the float is anything other than .0 then I want to increment the int. Some quick examples: Float = 98.0, Int = 98 Float = 98.1, Int = 99 Float = 6.6, Int = 7 etc. Thanks for any help!

  • Error message: do not have authority to access this function

    Hi. I just reinstalled Windows on my computer after getting a virus. I worked with it for a while and everything worked as it should. I then used a backup of the computer that I had made a week or so earlier and copied the backup over my user folder. (That is, I took the folder named "Joe" from the backup drive and copied-replaced the whole thing over the folder named "Joe" on the new Windows install.) To do this I had to work from an Ubuntu live CD because some of the files were in use. Now the problem: After I did this copying my computer says that I have no authority. Anytime I try to access anything that is part of the operating system (Explorer, Personalize, Control Panel, etc) I get an error message that says I don't have the authority to do this. I am able to access things that aren't part of the OS: Chrome, Firefox, my accounting software, Rockbox, but nothing that is part of the OS. I only copied over the User file, so I didn't mess with the registry or anything, so I have no idea why this should be. Does anyone out in cyberspace have any idea? Thank you.

    I'm having an issue that is a little strange. I have a cPanel webserver that I own and have root. I was testing out emailing and noticed some issues. When I send an email to outlook.com address the email sends ok but nothing is recieved at the outlook mailbox.   • How do I deliver mail for wildcard addresses to a particular user/alias/program?

    I need to configure sendmail so that mail delivered for wildcard addresses is accepted for delivery and then delivered to a user, alias, or directly to a script. I can rewrite the envelope/headers any number of ways, but I don't know how to accept the wildcard address when it's provided in RCPT TO: Everything I've tried so far winds up with a 550 user unknown error. So here's a specific example: I want to be able to handle any address that consists of a series of digits followed by a dot followed by a word, then pipe that to a script. If the headers get rewritten, that's OK, but I need the envelope to contain the actual Delivered-To address. Here's the sort of SMTP session I need: 220 blah.foo.com ESMTP server ready; Thu, 22 Apr 2010 20:41:08 -0700 (PDT) HELO blort.foo.com 250 blah.foo.com Hello blort.foo.com [10.1.2.3], pleased to meet you MAIL FROM: <[email protected]> 250 2.1.0 <[email protected]>... Sender ok RCPT TO: <[email protected]> 250 2.1.5 <[email protected]>... Recipient ok I tried some stuff with regex maps, but I never got past 550 user unknown.

  • Must have local user to authenticate Samba to AD?

    I've got a CentOS 5.3 server with Samba running. I've joined this server to my domain in the hopes of allowing AD users some access to my Samba shares. I've found that this works, but only as long as the AD username that I'm trying to authenticate with is also a local user on the server. In other words, if I'm trying to access a share, and try to authenticate with the AD username "joe", I get errors unless I create a user named 'joe' on the server. I don't have to create a matching password or anything....the local user's password is always blank, so I do know that the authentication is actually happening against the AD. Here's my smb.conf file: [global] workgroup = <mydomain> server string = <snip> netbios name = HOME security = ADS realm = <mydomain.com> password server = <snip> auth methods = winbind log level = 1 log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log [amore] path = /var/www/amore browseable = yes writable = yes valid users = DOMAIN\user1 DOMAIN\user2 DOMAIN\user3 DOMAIN\user4 I would assume that my kerberos settings are fine, as I've joined the domain and can use wbinfo to see users and groups. However, I can provide that info if necessary. Anyone have any ideas?

SharePoint Development with VS 2010: Beth Massi links to a bunch of nice “How do I?” videos that that demonstrate how to use the SharePoint development support built-into VS 2010. How to Pin a Project to the Recent Projects List in VS 2010: A useful tip/trick that demonstrates how to “pin” a project to always show up on the “Recent Projects” list within Visual Studio 2010. Using the WPF Tree Visualizer in VS 2010: Zain blogs about the new WPF Tree Visualizer supported by the VS 2010 debugger.  This makes it easier to visualize WPF control hierarchies within the debugger. TFS 2010 Power Tools Released: Brian Harry blogs about the cool new TFS 2010 extensions released with this week’s TFS 2010 Power Tools release. What is New with T4 in VS 2010: T4 is the name of Visual Studio’s template-based code generation technology.  Lots of scenarios within VS 2010 now use T4 for code generation customization.
