  I'm looking for something that can drop an image of Windows onto an uninitialized Hard Drive. I have new units that haven't even had the partition table created on them, and I'm trying to come up with a one (or two) step process for getting a disk image onto them. I've tried clonezilla, but that doesn't seem to like the lack of partition table, and as far as I can tell, Acronis doesn't work either.

• Acer Aspire 5720 Windows XP how do I find what touchpad I have?

  I had to reinstall Windows XP on my Aspire 5720 and now I'm reinstalling the drivers. There are two touchpad drivers and I don't know how to find out which is the right one for my system. I've run the program Acer provides that looks at your hardware, but it doesn't tell me which touchpad I have. The two drivers are Alps and Synaptics -- is there any way I can determine which one I need? Thanks!

  I use subversion.com for my personal stuff and whenever a commit is made I get a detailed report of what exactly changed and who changed it. I've read a bit into hooks and understand that this is likely a hook but it seems like it's not default functionality included with Subversion. It sounds like it's something I'm going to have to program... am I correct with that conclusion or can I just "set it up" by entering a few emails? Please tell me it's included :)

  I'm working with an API that requires the machine's external IP. As far as I know, the PHP environment I'm using can only get our internal IP. The option on the table is using an external service such as whatismyip.com to tell us: wget -q -O - http://whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp My concern is what happens if that fails. Is there a bulletproof way of determining a machine's IP without relying on external services?

  I am building cuImage. When I try to put in openSSH, I run out of 16M RAM boundary which is set during early kernel turning on MMU, so it wont boot up. Can anyone tell me how to increase that?   I use a tk domain name and another web host to host my blog site. I redirect DNS query to xxxhost.[myhost].com and tell my web host my domain name. (since my web host is virtual one) This works OK. But now I want to use an email service provided by third party, which requires adding a MX record to my DNS service. But this cannot be done on my web host management pages. • Hard drive restore on reboot on windows embedded

  My company has an old out of service device with windows embedded on it that we want to re purpose. Any changes to the drive (SD Card with 2 partitions), (ie: installed software, ip address, system settings, files) are reset/deleted when we reboot the device. We can successfully make changes to the drive by plugging it into a PC, but that has its limitations and we would like to be able to use our device. Can anyone tell us more about the technology used for doing this and how/if we can disable it?
