  • JQuery Tool tips

    - by kwek-kwek

Here is my Sample Code: <!-- trigger element. a regular workable link --> <a id="test" title="Name - Title">Name</a> <!-- tooltip element --> <div class="tooltip"> <div><span class="name">Name</span><br /> Title <span><a href="#">more info»</a></span></div> </div> <!-- trigger element. a regular workable link --> <a id="test2" title="Name - Title">Name</a> <!-- tooltip element --> <div class="tooltip2"> <div><span class="name">Name</span><br /> Title <span><a href="#">more info»</a></span></div> </div> and here is my script that makes it all happens: <script> // What is $(document).ready ? See: http://flowplayer.org/tools/using.html#document_ready $(document).ready(function() { // enable tooltip for "test" element. use the "slide" effect $("#test").tooltip({ effect: 'slide', offset: [50, 40] }); $("#test2").tooltip2({ effect: 'slide', offset: [50, 40] }); }); </script> but not working please help.

  • How to get forkpty to handle redirection and other bash-isms?

    - by Jeremy Friesner
    Hi all, I've got a GUI C++ program that takes a shell command from the user, calls forkpty() and execvp() to execute that command in a child process, while the parent (GUI) process reads the child process's stdout/stderr output and displays it in the GUI. This all works nicely (under Linux and MacOS/X). For example, if the user enters "ls -l /foo", the GUI will display the contents of the /foo folder. However, bash niceties like output redirection aren't handled. For example, if the user enters "echo bar /foo/bar.txt", the child process will output the text "bar /foo/bar.txt", instead of writing the text "bar" to the file "/foo/bar.txt". Presumably this is because execvp() is running the executable command "echo" directly, instead of running /bin/bash and handing it the user's command to massage/preprocess. My question is, what is the correct child process invocation to use, in order to make the system behave exactly as if the user had typed in his string at the bash prompt? I tried wrapping the user's command with a /bin/bash invocation, like this: /bin/bash -c the_string_the_user_entered, but that didn't seem to work. Any hints?

  • Using phpFlickr, how would one display the primary photo from each photoset?

    - by Michael
    Referring to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2561475/flickr-phpflickr-api how would you display a primary photo from a photoset rather than all photos and photosets? this is the code I have so far: photosets_getList($user); ? <?php $photoset_id = $ph_set['id']; $photos = $f->photosets_getPhotos($photoset_id); foreach ($photos['photoset']['photo'] as $photo): ?> <?php if($parentID == $ph_set['parent']): ?> <a rel="lightbox[album<?=$count;?>]" href="<?= $f->buildPhotoURL($photo, 'medium') ?>" title="<?= $photo['title'] ?>"> <?php endif;?> <img src="<?= $f->buildPhotoURL($photo, 'square') ?>" alt="<?= $photo['title'] ?>" width="75" height="75" title="<?= $photo['title'] ?>" /> <h3><?=$ph_set['title']?></h3> <?php if($parentID == $ph_set['parent']): ?> </a> </div> <?php endif;?>

  • Asp.net Custom user control button. How to stop multiple clicks by user.

    - by Laurence Burke
    I am trying to modify an open source Forum called YetAnotherForum.net in the project they have a custom user control called Yaf:ThemeButton. I have added in the code as of right now an extra onclick="this.style.display='none'" in the .cs code but that is a ugly fix I was wondering if anyone would have a better idea of disabling the ThemeButton clientside?? pls any feedback if I need to give more examples or further explain the question thanks.

  • How is it that json serialization is so much faster than yaml serialization in python?

    - by guidoism
    I have code that relies heavily on yaml for cross-language serialization and while working on speeding some stuff up I noticed that yaml was insanely slow compared to other serialization methods (e.g., pickle, json). So what really blows my mind is that json is so much faster that yaml when the output is nearly identical. >>> import yaml, cjson; d={'foo': {'bar': 1}} >>> yaml.dump(d, Dumper=yaml.SafeDumper) 'foo: {bar: 1}\n' >>> cjson.encode(d) '{"foo": {"bar": 1}}' >>> import yaml, cjson; >>> timeit("yaml.dump(d, Dumper=yaml.SafeDumper)", setup="import yaml; d={'foo': {'bar': 1}}", number=10000) 44.506911039352417 >>> timeit("yaml.dump(d, Dumper=yaml.CSafeDumper)", setup="import yaml; d={'foo': {'bar': 1}}", number=10000) 16.852826118469238 >>> timeit("cjson.encode(d)", setup="import cjson; d={'foo': {'bar': 1}}", number=10000) 0.073784112930297852 PyYaml's CSafeDumper and cjson are both written in C so it's not like this is a C vs Python speed issue. I've even added some random data to it to see if cjson is doing any caching, but it's still way faster than PyYaml. I realize that yaml is a superset of json, but how could the yaml serializer be 2 orders of magnitude slower with such simple input?

  • Django: how to cleanup form fields and avoid code duplication

    - by Alexander Konstantinov
    Quite often I need to filter some form data before using it (saving to database etc.) Let's say I want to strip whitespaces and replace repeating whitespaces with a single one in most of the text fields, in many forms. It's not difficult to do this using clean_<fieldname> methods: # Simplified model with two text fields class MyModel(models.Model): title = models.CharField() description = models.CharField() # Model-based form class MyForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = MyModel def clean_title(self): title = self.cleaned_data['title'] return re.sub(r'\s{2,}', ' ', title.strip()) def clean_description(self): description = self.cleaned_data['description'] return re.sub(r'\s{2,}', ' ', description.strip()) It does exactly what I need, and has a nice side effect which I like: if user enters only whitespaces, the field will be considered empty and therefore invalid (if it is required) and I don't even have to throw a ValidationError. The obvious problem here is code duplication. Even if I'll create some function for that, say my_text_filter, I'll have to call it for every text field in all my forms: from myproject.filters import my_text_filter class MyForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = MyModel def clean_title(self): return my_text_filter(self.cleaned_data['title']) def clean_description(self): return my_text_filter(self.cleaned_data['description']) The question: is there any standard and simple way in Django (I use version 1.2 if that matters) to do this (like, for example, by adding property validators = {'title': my_text_filter, 'description': my_text_filter} to MyModel), or at least some more or less standard workaround? I've read about form validation and validators in the documentation, but couldn't find what I need there.

  • Is Perl's flip-flop operator bugged? It has global state, how can I reset it?

    - by Evan Carroll
    I'm dismayed. Ok, so this was probably the most fun perl bug I've ever found. Even today I'm learning new stuff about perl. Essentially, the flip-flop operator .. which returns false until the left-hand-side returns true, and then true until the right-hand-side returns false keep global state (or that is what I assume.) My question is can I reset it, (perhaps this would be a good addition to perl4-esque hardly ever used reset())? Or, is there no way to use this operator safely? I also don't see this (the global context bit) documented anywhere in perldoc perlop is this a mistake? Code use feature ':5.10'; use strict; use warnings; sub search { my $arr = shift; grep { !( /start/ .. /never_exist/ ) } @$arr; } my @foo = qw/foo bar start baz end quz quz/; my @bar = qw/foo bar start baz end quz quz/; say 'first shot - foo'; say for search \@foo; say 'second shot - bar'; say for search \@bar; Spoiler $ perl test.pl first shot foo bar second shot

  • FIFOs implementation

    - by nunos
    Consider the following code: writer.c mkfifo("/tmp/myfifo", 0660); int fd = open("/tmp/myfifo", O_WRONLY); char *foo, *bar; ... write(fd, foo, strlen(foo)*sizeof(char)); write(fd, bar, strlen(bar)*sizeof(char)); reader.c int fd = open("/tmp/myfifo", O_RDONLY); char buf[100]; read(fd, buf, ??); My question is: Since it's not know before hand how many bytes will foo and bar have, how can I know how many bytes to read from reader.c? Because if I, for example, read 10 bytes in reader and foo and bar are together less than 10 bytes, I will have them both in the same variable and that I do not want. Ideally I would have one read function for every variable, but again I don't know before hand how many bytes will the data have. I thought about adding another write instruction in writer.c between the write for foo and bar with a separator and then I would have no problem decoding it from reader.c. Is this the way to go about it? Thanks.

  • Dynamic memory inside a struct

    - by Maximilien
    Hello, I'm editing a piece of code, that is part of a big project, that uses "const's" to initialize a bunch of arrays. Because I want to parametrize these const's I have to adapt the code to use "malloc" in order to allocate the memory. Unfortunately there is a problem with structs: I'm not able to allocate dynamic memory in the struct itself. Doing it outside would cause to much modification of the original code. Here's a small example: int globalx,globaly; struct bigStruct{ struct subStruct{ double info1; double info2; bool valid; }; double data; //subStruct bar[globalx][globaly]; subStruct ** bar=(subStruct**)malloc(globalx*sizeof(subStruct*)); for(int i=0;i<globalx;i++) bar[i]=(*subStruct)malloc(globaly*sizeof(subStruct)); }; int main(){ globalx=2; globaly=3; bigStruct foo; for(int i=0;i<globalx;i++) for(int j=0;j<globaly;j++){ foo.bar[i][j].info1=i+j; foo.bar[i][j].info2=i*j; foo.bar[i][j].valid=(i==j); } return 0; } Note: in the program code I'm editing globalx and globaly were const's in a specified namespace. Now I removed the "const" so they can act as parameters that are set exactly once. Summarized: How can I properly allocate memory for the substruct inside the struct? Thank you very much! Max

  • Display shift when adding rows to UITableView

    - by Kamchatka
    Hello, I have a UITableView displaying an underlying NSFetchedResultsController. When the fetchedResultsController is updated, - (void)controller:(NSFetchedResultsController *)controller didChangeObject:(id)anObject atIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath forChangeType:(NSFetchedResultsChangeType)type newIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)newIndexPath { is called. And the following is executed: case NSFetchedResultsChangeInsert: [tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:shiftedIndexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationFade]; break; The cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) The problem is however that all the values displayed in the rows of the table view are shifted down. The first row displays its title. The second rows displays the first row's title. The third row the second row's title etc. If I repeat that, the third row will display the second's row title, the fourth the third row's title etc. I don't understand what can happen, especially because cellForRowAtIndexPath is only called for the new line (which is logical) and not for all these lines. Additionally, if I click on these lines which have the wrong title, it opens the right document (didSelectRowAtIndexPath works correctly with the indexPath) Any clue of what could happen? Thanks!

  • Enabling new admin action(button sales_order/view) in ACL

    - by latvian
    Hi, We created new action similar to 'hold', 'ship' and others in the 'sales_order/view' admin section that can be triggered by clicking at the button. Afterward, we added our new action to the ACL with the following code in config.xml: <acl> <resources> <admin> <children> <sales> <children> <order> <children> <actions translate="title"> <title>Actions</title> <children> <shipNew translate="title"><title>Ship Ups</title></shipNew> </children> </actions> </children> <sort_order>10</sort_order> </order> </children> </sales> </children> </admin> </resources> </acl> ACL functionality works, however, in the 'Resources Tree'(System/Permissions/Roles/Role Resources) our new action does never show up as selected(checked) even thou it is allowed for particular Role. I can see that from table 'admin_rule' with resource id for our new action that it is allowed, so it needs to be selected, but it is not. When trying to solve this issue i looked into the template(permissions/rolesedit.phtml) and I found that the 'resource tree' is draw with Javascript...thats where i got stock due to my limited knowledge in Javascript. Why the resource tree does not display our new ACL entry correctly, that is the check box is never checked? Thank You for helping margots

  • ipad tabbar rotation

    - by MaKo
    hi, please help with this noob questions but really making me go crazy if I create a project from scratch (using windows based app) for the ipad, and add a tabbar , with firstviewController, and secondviewController, it works fine, starts in landscape mode, but in info.plist I set it to Landscape(left home button), but really in simulator starts with the button on the right side! in the FirstViewController.m (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft || interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) return YES; else { return NO; }} so it starts in landscape, and rotates as the simulator rotates, but if I create a template app for iphone tabbar, set the info.plist Initial interface orientation Landscape (left home button) and add the code above, IT DOESNT WORK!!! simulator starts with button at left but tab bar on the side, same problem that I had with an app that Im porting from iphone to ipad, (landscape intended) I get to the landscape start mode, but the tab bar remains on the side! also the only way to make the old ported app to show the simulator on the side was with UIInterfaceOrientation UIIntefaceOrientationLandscapeLeft (didnt work with Initial interface orientation), does not let me choose the value for the key, but it shows the simulator on landscape,, so,, what can I do please to show the tab bar on landscape mode??? the tabbar from scratch was made to see if the code will work , but it didnt?? why does it work in the tab bar made from windows app and not tab bar app? I just want the tab bar to show in landscape ahhh, thanks

  • Writing good tests for Django applications

    - by Ludwik Trammer
    I've never written any tests in my life, but I'd like to start writing tests for my Django projects. I've read some articles about tests and decided to try to write some tests for an extremely simple Django app or a start. • Managing logs/warnings in Python extensions

    - by Dimitri Tcaciuc
    TL;DR version: What do you use for configurable (and preferably captured) logging inside your C++ bits in a Python project? Details follow. Say you have a a few compiled .so modules that may need to do some error checking and warn user of (partially) incorrect data. Currently I'm having a pretty simplistic setup where I'm using logging framework from Python code and log4cxx library from C/C++. log4cxx log level is defined in a file (log4cxx.properties) and is currently fixed and I'm thinking how to make it more flexible. Couple of choices that I see: One way to control it would be to have a module-wide configuration call. # foo/__init__.py import sys from _foo import import bar, baz, configure_log configure_log(sys.stdout, WARNING) # tests/test_foo.py def test_foo(): # Maybe a custom context to change the logfile for # the module and restore it at the end. with CaptureLog(foo) as log: assert foo.bar() == 5 assert log.read() == "124.24 - foo - INFO - Bar returning 5" Have every compiled function that does logging accept optional log parameters. # foo.c int bar(PyObject* x, PyObject* logfile, PyObject* loglevel) { LoggerPtr logger = default_logger("foo"); if (logfile != Py_None) logger = file_logger(logfile, loglevel); ... } # tests/test_foo.py def test_foo(): with TemporaryFile() as logfile: assert foo.bar(logfile=logfile, loglevel=DEBUG) == 5 assert logfile.read() == "124.24 - foo - INFO - Bar returning 5" Some other way? Second one seems to be somewhat cleaner, but it requires function signature alteration (or using kwargs and parsing them). First one is.. probably somewhat awkward but sets up entire module in one go and removes logic from each individual function. What are your thoughts on this? I'm all ears to alternative solutions as well. Thanks,

  • Create bookmark into 1st column of MSWord table

    - by MikeD
    Hello All, does anyone have a VBA code to create a bookmark into the first column of an MSWord table? Let's say I have a table looking like this .-----.----------------. . ref . Title . .-----.----------------. . 1 . Title 1 . .-----.----------------. . 2 . Title 2 . .-----.----------------. . foo . Title 3 . .-----.----------------. . bar . Title 4 . .-----.----------------. and I want a VBA code fragment that creates a bookmark named "T1_1" on the string "1" in row 2 / column 1, and bookmarks named "T1_2", "T1_foo" and "T1_bar" on the strings in the other cells of column 1. I don't mind to hardcode the prefix "T1" (and substitute for other tables each time). I don't mind to select tables before running the macro, I don't mind giving those cells a special format, and I don't mind to get a superfluous bookmark "T1_ref" from the first row - so the code doesn't need to distinguish between table title and table row. Thanks a lot in advance

  • Help getting MVVM ViewModel to bind to the View

    - by cw
    Okay guys, I'm new to this model and Silverlight in general. I have the following code (changed object names, so syntax/spelling errors ignore). public class ViewModel { ViewModelSource m_vSource; public ViewModel(IViewModelSource source) { m_vSource= source; m_vSource.ItemArrived += new Action<Item>(m_vSource_ItemArrived); } void m_vSource_ItemArrived(Item obj) { Title = obj.Title; Subitems = obj.items; Description = obj.Description; } public void GetFeed(string serviceUrl) { m_vFeedSource.GetFeed(serviceUrl); } public string Title { get; set; } public IEnumerable<Subitems> Subitems { get; set; } public string Description { get; set; } } Here is the code I have in my page's codebehind. ViewModel m_vViewModel; public MainPage() { InitializeComponent(); m_vViewModel = new ViewModel(new ViewModelSource()); this.Loaded += new RoutedEventHandler(MainPage_Loaded); this.DataContext = m_vViewModel; } void MainPage_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { m_vViewModel.GetItems("http://www.myserviceurl.com"); } Finally, here is a sample of what my xaml looks like. <!--TitleGrid is the name of the application and page title--> <Grid x:Name="TitleGrid" Grid.Row="0"> <TextBlock Text="My Super Title" x:Name="textBlockPageTitle" Style="{StaticResource PhoneTextPageTitle1Style}"/> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Title}" x:Name="textBlockListTitle" Style="{StaticResource PhoneTextPageTitle2Style}"/> </Grid> I know I'm missing something, but I'm just not knowledgable enough which is why I'm asking you guys :) Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? Thanks!

  • typename resolution in cases of ambiguity

    - by parapura rajkumar
    I was playing with Visual Studio and templates. Consider this code struct Foo { struct Bar { }; static const int Bar=42; }; template<typename T> void MyFunction() { typename T::Bar f; } int main() { MyFunction<Foo>(); return 0; } When I compile this is either Visual Studio 2008 and 11, I get the following error error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'f' Is Visual Studio correct in this regard ? Is the code violating any standards ? If I change the code to struct Foo { struct Bar { }; static const int Bar=42; }; void SecondFunction( const int& ) { } template<typename T> void MyFunction() { SecondFunction( T::Bar ); } int main() { MyFunction<Foo>(); return 0; } it compiles without any warnings. In Foo::BLAH a member preferred over a type in case of conflicts ?

  • How do I target a div without a class or id but with all these specific style-attributes

    - by Ben
    I'm restyling a certain page where I don't have access to all the source-HTML. So I'm left over with some hard to target elements within a page I need removed. For example the page is swamped with <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div>. To get rid of them I tried this in CSS: div[style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"] { display:none !important; } I'd like to fix this using CSS, because the the HTML that needs to be removed is updated using ajax. How do I target a div without a class or id but with all these specific style-attributes? Some more of the source-code (took a while to organize the parsed source): <div> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760187/Le-Coq-Sportif-Angers-Low.html.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036303.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Angers-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760187/Le-Coq-Sportif-Angers-Low.html.html"> Le Coq Sportif Angers Low </a> </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 89,95 </span> </span> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px; border-right: 1px dashed #A0A0A0;" class="BigPhotoList_Stippel"></div> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760185/Le-Coq-Sportif-Auveurne-Low.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036301.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Auveurne-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760185/Le-Coq-Sportif-Auveurne-Low.html"> Le Coq Sportif Auveurne Low </a> </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 79,95 </span> </span> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px; border-right: 1px dashed #A0A0A0;" class="BigPhotoList_Stippel"></div> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760191/Le-Coq-Sportif-Bordeaux-Low.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036307.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Bordeaux-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760191/Le-Coq-Sportif-Bordeaux-Low.html"> Le Coq Sportif Bordeaux Low </a> </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 99,95 </span> </span> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760181/Le-Coq-Sportif-Cannet-Low.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036297.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Cannet-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760181/Le-Coq-Sportif-Cannet-Low.html"> Le Coq Sportif Cannet Low </a> </span> <span class="Discount BigPhotoList_Discount" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 99,95 </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 94,95 </span> </span> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px; border-right: 1px dashed #A0A0A0;" class="BigPhotoList_Stippel"></div> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760183/Le-Coq-Sportif-Rodez-Low.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036299.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Rodez-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760183/Le-Coq-Sportif-Rodez-Low.html"> Le Coq Sportif Rodez Low </a> </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 99,95 </span> </span> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px; border-right: 1px dashed #A0A0A0;" class="BigPhotoList_Stippel"></div> <div style="float: left; width: 10.25px; height: 284px;"></div> <span class="Block BigPhotoList_Block"> <span class="Photo BigPhotoList_Photo" style="height: 200px"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760189/Le-Coq-Sportif-Sedan-Low.html"> <span style="background-image:url(http://61955.static.securearea.eu/Files/2/61000/61955/ProductPhotos/MaxContent/144036305.jpg);" class="Canvas BigPhotoList_Canvas" title="Le-Coq-Sportif-Sedan-Low"></span> </a> </span> <span class="Title BigPhotoList_Title"> <a href="/Webwinkel-Product-83760189/Le-Coq-Sportif-Sedan-Low.html"> Le Coq Sportif Sedan Low </a> </span> <span class="Discount BigPhotoList_Discount" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 109,95 </span> <span class="Price BigPhotoList_Price" style="font-size: 120%;"> € 99,95 </span> </span> </div>

  • WordPress plugin to output a certain category on content page tweak help

    - by talkingD0G
    I'm using WordPress plugin Category Page to display the most recent 5 posts from a certain category on a regular content page (not the blog page) of a website. Right now the plugin is limited to display the post title linked to the post page. This is a video blog type site and I need the plugin to display the post title (as it does now) with the video as well. Probably just telling the script to show the content would work but I don't know how to tweak it. This is the section of the script that is outputting the post title: function page2cat_content_catlist($content){ global $post; if ( stristr( $content, '[catlist' )) { $search = "@(?:<p>)*\s*\[catlist\s*=\s*(\w+|^\+)\]\s*(?:</p>)*@i"; if (preg_match_all($search, $content, $matches)) { if (is_array($matches)) { $title = get_option('p2c_catlist_title'); if($title != "") $output = "<h4>".$title."</h4>"; else $output = ""; $output .= "<ul class='p2c_catlist'>"; $limit = get_option('p2c_catlist_limit'); foreach ($matches[1] as $key =>$v0) { $catposts = get_posts('category='.$v0."&numberposts=".$limit); foreach($catposts as $single): $output .= "<li><a href='".get_permalink($single->ID)." '>".$single->post_title."</a></li>"; endforeach; $search = $matches[0][$key]; $replace= $output; $content= str_replace ($search, $replace, $content); } $output .= "</ul>"; } } } return $content; } If anyone has any advice or knows how to help thanks in advance!

  • Exclude children based on content in XML with PHP (simplexml)

    - by Hakan
    Another question about PHP and XML... Is it posible to exclude children based on there childrens content. See the example below: If "title" contains the word "XTRA:" I don't want this "movie" to be listed. This is my PHP code: <? $xml = simplexml_load_file("movies.xml"); foreach ($xml->movie as $movie){ ?> <h2><? echo $movie->title ?></h2> <p>Year: <? echo $movie->year ?></p> <? } ?> This is mys XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <movies> <movie> <title>Little Fockers</title> <year>2010</year> </movie> <movie> <title>Little Fockers XTRA: teaser 3</title> <year>2010</year> </movie> </movies> The outcome of the code above is: <h2>Little Fockers</h2> <p>Year: 2010</p> <h2>Little Fockers XTRA: teaser 3</h2> <p>Year: 2010</p> I want it to be only: <h2>Little Fockers</h2> <p>Year: 2010</p>

  • Help with an RSS Feed

    - by Pete Herbert Penito
    Hi Everyone! I've spent ages on this, all I'm trying to do is extract the "title" contents from an rss feed, everything else can be ignored. I've looked into simplepie, magpie and all that stuff, but I feel its kind of overkill for what I need to do. I realise there are google gadgets that are made that can do this, but I didn't want all the google logo stuff, and I wanted to personally make this. theres a whole bunch of unneeded tags thats coming in from the rss feed all I need is the title tag, it looks like this <title> My Title 3.0 </title> My server has PHP 5+ so I know I can use some of these simple xml functions which look promising. so far I've got <?php $blogfeed = file_get_contents("http://myblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss"); echo $blogfeed; ?> And it gives me all the data, I was thinking of running through it with strpos and searching for <title> but is there any easier way to do this?? Thanks alot!

  • SQL Server stored procedure return code oddity

    - by gbn
    Hello The client that calls this code is restricted and can only deal with return codes from stored procs. So, we modified our usual contract to RETURN -1 on error and default to RETURN 0 if no error If the code hits the inner catch block, then the RETURN code default to -4. Where does this come from, does anyone know...?
