  • What program will monitor the chords I'm playing through my MIDI keyboard live?

    Leaving Cubase 5 out of the picture, when I use Reason 4.0 to compose something, I need a program running that will monitor the chords I'm pressing WHILE I'm pressing them. See, I'm a new keyboardist, and a thing like this will improve my accuracy by 100%. At one point, I'll stop needing such programs even, but for now, I'd REALLY like to have something of that sort. Free or commercial suggestions.

  • Is there any way to disable certain keyboard shortcuts in Windows 7?

    There is something going on with my Windows 7 machine where attempting to unlock the workstation the Win key is "stuck" on (not quite sure what is causing this). What this causes is that when I am entering my password, which contains a "p", Windows thinks I am pressing Win + p as if I want to change my display settings to enable a projector. This is highly annoying when attempting to unlock my workstation! The workaround I've found to "unstick" the Win key is to cycle through the projector/display settings once, land back on the original value, and then resume entering my password as normal. But is there any way to completely disable the shortcut for Win + p ? In all likelihood I will never hook up a projector to this machine, or on the once-in-a-lifetime chance that I do, I am more than happy with having to go into the Display Settings myself.

  • Can Android OS be programmed to interface with a external device via the mini-USB port?

    Basic example, if I bought a chipset with a light socket and bulb soldered to the chipset; then put a USB cable with the mini-USB plug on the end to get plugged into the android phone. Can I write a Java application to turn on/off the light, get the status of the light(on/off) and maybe power a super-small led/bulb with power from the phone itself? Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • How to communicate with a USB device under Windows and Java?

    I'd like to communicate with a USB device under Windows and Java but I can't find a good library to do so. I don't want the user to have to install any extra hardware or device drivers to make this work. That is, I want to be able to interact with USB just like other Windows applications do. I am familiar with jUSB and JSR 80 but both seem to be dead projects (at least for Windows).

  • Internet doesn't work by default

    After upgrading to Precise, I am required to run 'sudo dhclient eth0' in a terminal in order to get the internet to work. Everything worked perfectly fine on Oneiric, so It's really puzzling me. I'm thinking it could possibly be something with the kernel, but who knows.     I tried setting the default keyboard shortcut to Hide normal windows (Show desktop) to Super + S. It didn't work and now whenever I press Super + S, I get the workspace switcher. I tried setting Hide normal windows back to Ctrl + Super + S, but it doesn't work. I'm still getting the Workspace switcher. How can I reset these two settings? I use the Show Desktop quite a lot and it is quite annoying not being able to do it.

Gnome3 offers the possibility to switch to (or start) an application by typing the app name. KDE allows this with krunner.
