• php/mysql show data from chosen checkboxes

  Hi. I have a table called FRUIT id type daysold 1 banana 5 2 apple 6 3 apple 4 4 peach 2 5 banana 6 What I would like is to have 3 checkboxes: Banana [ ] Apple [ ] Peach [ ] SUBMIT Then if I've only checked "Banana" and "Peach" the mysql output should only show me the rows that matches those two types. And the checkboxes should remain checked to highlight what was chosen. I can make the checkboxes but then that's about it really. I don't know how to properly get the info from the checkboxes and down to the WHERE argument in the MYSQL-code. Especially not with two types chosen. If it was just a dropdown menu with a single choice then I'd add the choice to the url and put WHERE type='$choice' - but I'm struggling with the multiple choices. I'm a bit of a novice at both php and mysql, so I'm a bit lost on this one.

The user fields are not stored in the db directly, they'll be serialized together since they'll be used infrequently. Is the following the best way to do this? Alternatives?   Say I've got a list of lists. Say the inner list of three elements in size and looks like this: ['apple', 'fruit', 1.23] The outer list looks like this data = [['apple', 'fruit', 1.23], ['pear', 'fruit', 2.34], ['lettuce', 'vegetable', 3.45]] I want to iterate through the outer list and cull data for a temporary list only in the case that element 1 matches some keyword (aka: 'fruit'). So, if I'm matching fruit, I would end up with this: tempList = [('apple', 1.23), ('pear', 2.34)] This is one way to accomplish this: tempList = [] for i in data: if i[1] == 'fruit': tempList.append(i[0], i[2]) is there some 'Pythonic' way to do this in fewer lines?

• Database table design vs. ease of use.

  I have a table with 3 fields: color, fruit, date. I can pick 1 fruit and 1 color, but I can do this only once each day. examples: red, apple, monday red, mango, monday blue, apple, monday blue, mango, monday red, apple, tuesday The two ways in which I could build the table are: 1.- To have color, fruit and date be a composite primary key (PK). This makes it easy to insert data into the table because all the validation needed is done by the database. PK color PK fruit PK date 2.- Have and id column set as PK and then all the other fields. Many say thats the way it should be, because composite PKs are evil. For example, CakePHP does no support them. PK id color fruit date Both have advantages. Which would be the 'better' approach?

  I am performing some insertion to an SQL table with has three columns and several rows of data The three columns are Id,Product,ProductOrder with the following data Id Product ProductOrder 1 Dell 1 2 HP 3 3 lenovo 2 4 Apple 10 Now, I would like a trigger which fires an action and increments all the ProductOrders by 1which are greater than or equal to the inserted ProductOrder. For example, I am inserting a record with Id=5 Product=Sony, ProductOrder=2 Then it should look for all the products with ProductOrder greater than or equal to 2 and increment them by 1. So, the resultant data in the SQL table should be as follows Id Product ProductOrder 1 Dell 1 2 HP 4 3 lenovo 3 4 Apple 11 5 Sony 2 From above we can see that ProductOrder which are equal or greater than the inserted are incremented by 1 like HP,Lenovo,Apple May I know a way to implement this?

  Hi, I developed one database related application for iPhone device(SQlite database). Now i want to update that application with more features(I want to push an update for the same application). Here i am more concerned about the user data while pushing the update so my question is if i will push an update then does the update will clear all the data that is stored in .sqlite file? if this is case then how to push application update without modifying the previous data in the database file?   I'm using jgit to create a remote in s3. Problem I'm having is when I do a jgit push s3 master it creates the files in s3 as owned by me. I want to keep the files private, and be read/write by 'Authenticated users'. I'd like to be able to either set acl: authenticated-read in the ~/.jgit file OR be able to modify the acl after the push: s3cmd --add-header=x-amz-acl:authenticated-read setacl --acl-private s3://my.bucket/repo/* Neither of these work. How do i use jgit and push to s3 and keep it private, and let anyone with auth read/write?

• Is support for recovering purchases mandatory for consumable products?

  Apple's documentation for iOS 7 makes me think it is not, for it makes a distinction between "restored by the system" (i.e. built into iOS 7), "restored by your app" (i.e. functionality required inside app"), and "not required". The fact there being three (and not two) options and product type "consumable" being marked as "not restored" makes me think that an app that does not support restoring consumable product may still pass Apple's review process. However this popular question and answer seem to suggest that such support is required ("I read somewhere ...") But would this not amount to "consumable" taking on "restored by your app" semantics, which seems to contradict the quoted piece of Apple documentation.

  I'm trying to use CFBundleDocumentTypes to associate a custom file extension with my application. As far as I can tell, this seems to "work" -- my application launches when I double click the file. However, no callback is registered through the ApplicationListener events I setup in java. I used the code listed in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1460193/set-default-file-association-mac-os-x-java-package-maker-installer to do the file association, and the file association itself appears fine, but it seems as if it is the application stub trying to launch the file, and thus fails. I added the Apple ApplicatinListener code to my java application at (similar to http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Java/Reference/1.5.0/appledoc/api/index.html?com/apple/eawt/Application.html) but it doesn't seem like my application ever gets a call back. the code is similar to Application.getApplicatin().addApplicationListener( new ApplicationAdapter() { public void handleOpenFile(ApplicationEvent evt) { //some logging message here that I never get} }); Any help would be appreciated

• $HOME git repo (selectively) to github?

  I keep many files in my home directory under git. Important dotfiles, my thesis, etc. I want to push certain files to github, e.g., my emacs configuration, to share. Obviously, I don't want to push the entire repo. Are submodules the way to go? My first thought is to make a directory ~/github/emacs, and rsync selective files here, then add a submodule under that directory, pointing to github, to push. Is this a good idea, or is there a better way? (I don't want my local git repo storing all files to get muddled up with this stuff, though.)

  Hi, folks. I have some problems with zend routes I have shops controller. It has 3 actions(for now): index - lists all of shops using paginator(so I have /shops/?page=2) show - shows concrete shop (show/Apple+store) search - shows search form So now I need to make routing for that. I have followin routes 'shop', new Zend_Controller_Router_Route ('/shops/:title',array('controller' = 'shops', 'action' = 'show'),array('title' = '/^(?!search$).+$/')) 'search_shops',new Zend_Controller_Router_Route_Static ('/shop/search',array('controller' = 'shops', 'action' = 'show')) but when i try to go /shops/Apple+store it says, that there is no Apple store action. If I ommit regexp part on shop route, I can't go to search. What am I doing wrong?

• Cleaner way to store to replace a scalar hash value with an array ref?

  I am building a hash where the keys, associated with scalars, are not necessarily unique. I want the desired behavior to be that if the key is unique, the value is the scalar. If the key is not unique, I want the value to be an array reference of the scalars associated witht the key. Since the hash is built up iteratively, I don't know if the key is unique ahead of time. Right now, I am doing something like this: if(!defined($hash{$key})){ $hash{$key} = $val; } elseif(ref($hash{$key}) ne 'ARRAY'){ my @a; push(@a, $hash{$key}); push(@, $val); $hash{$key} = \@a; } else{ push(@{$hash{$key}}, $val); } Is there a simpler way to do this?

That is, there are two threads and sometimes thread 1 never comes out of push() and at other times thread 2 never comes out of pop() (the block parameter is true) though the queue isn't empty. I understand there are other implementations available, but I'd like to try to fix this code, if needed. Anyone see any issues? The constructor has the appropriate initializations: Queue() { pthread_mutex_init( &mMutex, NULL ); pthread_cond_init( &mCondition, NULL ); } and the destructor, the corresponding 'destroy' calls.

• Turning user ID into name (seperate tables) in PHP

  I am currently trying to display the username of people who i am following, the problem is that during the following process, only the ID of me and the person i'm following is stored. I've got it to the point where the ID's are displayed but i'd like to show the names hyperlinked. $p_id is the profile ID. Here's what I've got: $following = mysql_query("SELECT `follower`, `followed` FROM user_follow WHERE follower=$p_id"); I am following: <?php while($apple = mysql_fetch_array($following)){ echo '<a href="'.$apple['followed'].'">+'.$apple['followed'].'</a> '; }?> The usernames are in a different table "users" under the field "username" - I need them to match up with the ID's that are currently displayed, and be displayed. • InApp subscriptions - trasferability

  Apple has rejected one of our apps, where the user can purchase content through subscriptions (InApp product type is subscription). The problem is that we need to, also because of Apple requiring it, these subscriptions to be transferable between devices. The logical and also the most secure solution would be to link it to a user account, that the user will have to create. But this was the reason why apple rejected this app. They have told us that for purchasing of subscriptions a registration can not be required, can be only optional. So the question is how to solve this if there is no other nice solution that would make sense, be secure and still comfortable for the user?

• Pushing an array into a vector.

  I've a 2d array, say A[2][3]={{1,2,3},{4,5,6}}; and I want to push it into a 2D vector(vector of vectors). I know you can use two for loops to push the elements one by on on to the first vector and then push that into the another vector which makes it 2d vector but I was wondering if there is any way in C++ to do this in a single loop. For example I want to do something like this: myvector.pushback(A[1]+3); // where 3 is the size or number of columns in the array. I understand this is not a correct code but I put this just for understanding purpose. Thanks
