    I'm trying to learn and hopefully use regular expression with Qt. I found that some patterns cause handler to fall into loop. for example searching \b\b in a text, never will terminate. and number of these expressions is infinite (\b\b\b,\b\b\b\b and so on). I'd like to determine and control all invalid expressions. Is there an algorithm to distinguish valid and invalid expressions? If not, how can I prevent my program from falling into an infinite loop?

    Hello, My source table looks like this Id StartDate 1 (null) 2 12/12/2009 3 10/10/2009 I want to create a select statement, that selects the above, but also has an additional column to display a varchar if the date is not null such as : Id StartDate StartDateStatus 1 (null) Awaiting 2 12/12/2009 Approved 3 10/10/2009 Approved I have the following in my select, but it doesn't seem to be working. All of the statuses are set to Approved even though the dates have some nulls select id, StartDate, CASE StartDate WHEN null THEN 'Awaiting' ELSE 'Approved' END AS StartDateStatus FROM myTable The results of my query look like : Id StartDate StartDateStatus 1 (null) Approved 2 12/12/2009 Approved 3 10/10/2009 Approved 4 (null) Approved 5 (null) Approved StartDate is a smalldatetime, is there some exception to how this should be treated?     I am trying to test if the uploaded file is the image type I want. If it isn't a gif,jpeg, png, it should echo "Problem". But when I execute this code, it always says there's a problem.     I have a table with start and finish datetimes that I need to determine if any overlap and not quite sure the best way to go.     I remember when I was developing in C++ or Java, the compiler usually complains for unused methods, functions or imports. In my Django project, I have a bunch of Python files which have gone through a number of iterations. Some of those files have a few lines of import statement at the top of the page and some of those imports are not used anymore.     How can I programmatically retrieve the current connection type (eg. LAN or Direct connection)? InternetGetConnectedState() isn't very reliable. For instance, I'm connected to a wireless network, but ConTypeRet is 18, which is INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN & INTERNET_RAS_INSTALLED. Isn't there any way to make sure that ConTypeRet is either INTERNET_CONNECTION_LAN or INTERNET_CONNECTION_MODEM?

Question: what's a better equality test to ensure that the HTTP Referer is coming from 'example.com' ?
