• .odx Files in BizTalk 2009 (VS2008 IDE) Fail to open. "Unspecified Error"

  Okay, I'm not sure if this is an SO question, or a ServerFault question, but I figured I'd post here first. I have a BizTalk project which works like a champ for its original design. It's been deployed and it's working fine. Today, I went in to add some new fuctionality by modifying one of my orchestrations. When I attempted to open it, I got a message which simply stated: "The operation could not be completed. Unspecified error." I've closed the IDE and re-opened; I've restarted the machine; I've even allowed Microsoft Updates to run and restart the machine. Everything else opens just fine (.xsd files, .btms, etc.) so it appears only to be the orchestrations which are failing. Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue and resolved it (short of reinstalling BizTalk/VS, or blowing the orchs away and rebuilding)? Any help would be appreciated.

• mx:Tree not dispatching "itemClick" event when click on icon

  I have a flex tree that worked perfectly fine when we set the defaultLeafIcon={null} and the folderClosedIcon and folderOpenIcon to {null}. We decided to put the icons back in and took out the nulls. Now they show up fine, but if you click on the icon instead of the label or the rest of the row, it seems to change the selected item, shows the highlight around the new item, but doesn't dispatch the ItemClick event. This makes it really hard to know that the tree's selected item has changed! The weird part is that once you have clicked on the icon once and it looked like the selectedItem changed (or at least it applied that style), if you click the same icon again, it will actually fire the itemClick event. if you click any other icon, it does the same thing again, switching the selectedItem and styling that row, but not firing the itemClick event. Any ideas? Thanks. (This is in flex 4 btw)

• Do i *have* to use ObservableCollection in Silverlight WCF client?

  When accessing Silverlight in WCF you get proxies generated with ObservableCollection Thats fine when you're databinding, but a little clumsy when you're just calling a method. For instance the following service method : [OperationContract] public SearchOrdersMsgOut SearchOrders(ShippingStatusType[] shippingStatuses, string[] orderId) { } gets generated with ObservableCollection. What! They're just parameters. Why would I ever want to 'observe' them? I'm fine if I have to do this - but it seems like there should be a way to force simple array structures when I know I'm never databinding - especially on input messages. I'd much rather do this : searchCriteria.PaymentStatus = new [] { PaymentStatusType.PaymentFailed, PaymentStatusType.Unpaid }; than this : searchCriteria.PaymentStatus = new ObservableCollection<PaymentStatusType> { PaymentStatusType.PaymentFailed, PaymentStatusType.Unpaid }; Is there a way? PS. I do actually use a SearchCriteria object for my search criteria - but I simplified for this example wondering if parameters were handled differently.

  i have this function where basically add and remove the disabled attribute form a input field: $(bla).click(function(){ if (something) { console.log($target.prev("input")) // gives out the right object $target.toggleClass("open").prev("input").attr("disabled", "disabled"); }else{ $target.toggleClass("open").prev("input").removeAttr("disabled"); //this works } }) the removeAttr works fine but when i need to add the disabled again it does just nothing. My console.log is triggering (and giving me back the right input field) so I'm sure my that my if statement works. But if i inspect the DOM with firebug the disabled attribute does not appear. can someone help me? PS: please don't focus on the function or the if statement itself, works fine its just that attr that dies not work for disabled...

• dynamically created datagridview columns not accessible unless added to a form...why?

  We simply created a DataGridView control dynamically and bound it to a DataTable. We were tying to style certain columns. But, when we tried to access the columns we got a null reference. On further investigation we found that if we add the DataGridView control to the main form, and then try to access its columns, it works fine!!! Code which throws error: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); Code which works fine: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable this.Controls.Add(gv); //adding to form Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); //the assertion fails! Why is this behaviour so? Is there a workaround for this?

• C# setup project output automatically start with administrative rights

  Hi, i've created an setup project for a .net-application which works fine. The problem is, that the application begins to write log-files after startup and this requires administrative rights on windows vista and windows 7. I know there are some folders which i could use to write into without administrative rights. When i start the application as administrator, everything works fine. I asked myself, if it's possible to change the setup project in visual studio in a way that the installed application automatically owns administrative rights on the target system? It seems to me that the break command does not work. What can be a possible reason for that. The interesting thing is that it happens not all the time. Sometimes my program works fine, sometimes the above described problem happens.

  Hi guys, I decided to learn HTML so I installed apache on windows vista. Everything seems to work fine; when I go to http://localhost:8080 the sample webpage installed by apache shows. Apache is configured at port 8080. So far so good. Since my DocumentRoot is c:\pub, I made another folder inside, e.g., c:\pub\test. What I'm trying to figure out is why the page at http://localhost/test:8080 cannot load? It has index.html and apache is working fine. Any ideas?

• Dendrogram generated by scipy-cluster does not show

  I am using scipy-cluster to generate a hierarchical clustering on some data. As a final step of the application, I call the dendrogram function to plot the clustering. I am running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard using the built-in Python 2.6.1 and this matplotlib package. The program runs fine, but at the end the Rocket Ship icon (as I understand, this is the launcher for GUI applications in python) shows up and vanishes immediately without doing anything. Nothing is shown. If I add a 'raw_input' after the call, it just bounces up and down in the dock forever. If I run a simple sample application for matplotlib from the terminal it runs fine. Does anyone have any experiences on this?

  Hi, I am using "networkActivityIndicatorVisible" in UIApplication for showing network spinning gear in status bar if my WebView( I am setting "networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES" in "webViewDidStartLoad" and reseting in "webViewDidFinishLoad" ) is busy. It works fine for single UIWebView. For Multiple UIWebViews i have used a "stack" to trace which webview is busy and which one is idle and it is working fine. My question is there is any way to know whether an application is busy or idle in application level(in UIApplication) instead of checking each webview so i can remove stack. Thanks.

• White bar at the bottom of root view!

  Hi, I have two view controllers in the app. When the app starts, the layout of the root view controller's view is just fine. When a button is clicked, the view controller switches to the other one - which shows fine too. However, when the view is switched back to the root view, the contents are shifted UP by about 20 pixels, leaving a white bar at the bottom! - and it was not there when the app had started. Has anyone seen this? Any idea what's going on there? Thanks, Sam.

• Delphi form icons are blurry on Windows 7's taskbar (with MainFormOnTaskbar enabled)

  We have a Windows desktop application written in Delphi that works fine on Windows 7, except that the icon of the main form looks blurry in Windows' new taskbar. As long as the application has not been started the icon looks fine (i.e. when it's pinned to the taskbar). Once it has been started Windows uses the icon of the main form (instead of the .exe resource icon) and it's blurry (it looks like a 16x16 version of the icon is scaled up). The icon that we use for the .exe and for the main form are exactly the same and it contains all kinds of resolutions, including 48x48 with alpha blending. My theory is that Delphi ignores/deletes the extra resolutions of the icon when I import the .ico file for the main form in Delphi. Is there a way to prevent/fix this? What's the best way to ensure that an application written in Delphi uses the correct icon resolution in Windows 7's taskbar?

• Connecting to multiple firebird Databases via Delphi

  I am integrating a system with 2 other applications, 1 using a Firebird database whilst the other BIS (using ADO). My delphi application uses Firebird. I need to read data from my database, insert it into both the BIS database and the other application firebird database. I have created seperate data modules for each. Sending data to the ADO works fine, but when writing to the other Firebird DB (my db still open) I get strange errors. I have managed to isolate the problem to the second firebird DB. Small data writes seems fine. The data structures are completly different, so un able to use a synch tool. is there a way to overcome this by using multi threading or seperate memory space each Firebird instance uses?

• problem running system.net.webclient and process.start off a control event

  The following code causes my vs 2008 wpf project to hang, I'm not sure why. Both Part 1 and Part 2 work perfectly fine independently, but when I run them together on an control event (click a button for example) the program hangs. I've also tried shell execute for part 2 - same results. However, this code when run within the form loaded event works fine. Any insights would be truly appreciated. • jQuery $.post with PasteBin API

  Ok, I'm trying to use jQuery $.post with the PasteBin API to create a PasteBin page and grab the URL (which the API says it returns). Here is my code so far: $('#send_code').click(function(){ $.post('http://pastebin.com/api_public.php', { paste_name: $('#paste_name').val(), paste_code: $('#paste_code').val() }, function(data){ alert(data); }); } The above script creates the page just fine (I can find them on PasteBin). However, all that is returned is an empty string. I've tried using this same API with php and cURL, and I'm able to retrieve the URL just fine. Can anyone see if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!

• How do you diagnose a 500 error on Heroku when there is no error message in the logs?

  I have a Rails app on Heroku that is serving 500 errors at random intervals. Web pages will display "Internal server error" in plain text, instead of the usual "We're sorry. Something went wrong." page. When I refresh the page, it works fine. • Problem running ASP.NET MVC 2 website on IIS7

  I'm trying to deploy my ASP.NET MVC 2 website from VS2010 beta 2 to IIS7. The publish works fine but none of the routes work, so when I go to the URL http://localhost/myapp/Home/Index I get the error: HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. I'm deploying to a virtual directory which is using an app pool configured for the .NET 4 framework with managed pipeline mode set to integrated. Also, if I go Basic Settings-Test Connection, both tests pass. From what I understand, it should just work? I don't have any problems deploying Nerd Dinner from VS2008, that works fine.

• camera preview on androd - strange lines on 1.5 version of sdk

  Hi all, I am developing the camera module for an android application. In main application when user clicks on 'take picture' button, new view with SurfaceView control is opened and camera preview is shown. When users click on dpad center, camera takes picture and save it to the disc. Pretty simple and straightforward. Everything works fine on my device - HTC Tattoo, minsdkversion 1.6 ...but when I tested application on HTC Hero minsdkversion 1.5, when camera preview is shown,some strange lines occur. • aws-s3 can't find xml-simple, but in gem list

  I'm transitioning to heroku, and need to have AWS-s3 connections to deal with a variety of graphics. I've installed the aws-s3 gem, but one of its dependencies is not being found: xml-simple. My belief is that this is a standard part of RoR, and it is in the gem list. When I deploy to heroku, all is fine, but on my development server, it isn't being found when the code uses it to check the existence of a graphic. It works fine from the console, using s3sh. I'm not quite sure why this is -- what do I need to check? Using OS X 10.6, on a 64 bit machine -- can this be part of it?

• Maven eclipse does not add a dependency

  I have the following snippet in my pom.xml <dependency> <groupId>aspectj</groupId> <artifactId>aspectjrt</artifactId> <version>1.5.3</version> </dependency> and in one of my Java files I refer a class org.aspectj.lang.ProceedingJoinPoint. When I do a "mvn clean install" it compiles and builds fine but when I do an eclipse:eclipse, and import the project in eclipse it gives me an error The import org.aspectj cannot be resolved. I checked the .classpath file that was generated and it does not have an entry to this file. I tried a "mvn dependency:tree" and it lists this fine. Can someone tell me what is going wrong here?

  hi, im trying to get a contacts name and phone number from the contacts list. im using: contactname = Curser.getString(Curser.getColumnIndex(Contacts.DISPLAY_NAME)); to get their name and it works fine. But using: contactphone = Curser.getString(Curser.getColumnIndex(ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.NUMBER)); causes no warnings or errors and builds fine, yet force closes in both the emulator (2.1) and my htc desire (nexus one 2.2 rom/htc desire 2.1 rom). Any ideas how to fix it? oh and contactname and contactphone are both strings thanks, ng93

• Web Service in c# - "This web service is using http://tempuri.org/ as its default namespace."

  I've created a web service using Visual Studio ( 2005 - I know I'm old school ) and it all compiles fine but when it opens I get warned thus: This web service does not conform to WS-I Basic Profile v1.1. And furthermore: This web service is using http://tempuri.org/ as its default namespace. Which would be fine except my service begins thus: [WebService(Namespace = "http://totally-not-default-uri.com/servicename")] Searching the entire solution folder for "tempuri" returns nothing. I can't find it mentioned in any configuration page acessible from Visual Studio. And yet it's right there in the wsdl:definitions list for the xmlns:tns attribute on the web service descriptor page when I view it through the browser and as targetNamespace in the same tag. I'm viewing it using Visual Studio's "debug" mode with the built in server from that. Seems like something has got cached somewhere but I can't work out what and where- I've tried stopping and restarting the server, cleaning and rebuilding the service and going through the associated text config files with a text editor but no dice. Any idea what is going on?

  Hi Guys, for the context setting, I am exchanging messages between my nServiceBus client and nSerivceBus server. its is the namespace xyz.Messages and and a class, Message : IMessage I have more messages that are in the other dlls, like xyz.Messages.Domain1, xyz.Messages.Domain2, xyz.Messages.Domain3. and messages that derive form that base message, Message. I have the endpoints defined as like : at client <UnicastBusConfig> <MessageEndpointMappings> <add Messages="xyz.Messages" Endpoint="xyzServerQueue" /> <add Messages="xyz.Messages.Domain1" Endpoint="xyzServerQueue" /> <add Messages="xyz.Messages.Domain2" Endpoint="xyzServerQueue" /> </MessageEndpointMappings> </UnicastBusConfig> at Server <UnicastBusConfig> <MessageEndpointMappings> <add Messages="xyz.Messages" Endpoint="xyzClientQueue" /> <add Messages="xyz.Messages.Domain1" Endpoint="xyzClientQueue" /> <add Messages="xyz.Messages.Domain2" Endpoint="xyzClientQueue" /> </MessageEndpointMappings> </UnicastBusConfig> and the bus initialized as IBus serviceBus = Configure.With() .SpringBuilder() .XmlSerializer() .MsmqTransport() .UnicastBus() .LoadMessageHandlers() .CreateBus() .Start(); now when i try sending instance of Message type or any type derived types of Message, it successfully sends the message over and at the server, i get the proper type. eg. It transfers only as Message type, not the derived type. public class MessageDerived2 : Message { public Message message; } MessageDerived2 messageDerived2= new MessageDerived2(); messageDerived2.message = new MessageDerived1(); message = messageDerived2; Bus.Send(message); // incorrect behaviour, transfers MessageDerived2 correctly, but looses type of MessageDerived2.Message (it deserializes as Message type, instead of MessageDerived1) any help is strongly appreciated.
