  • Making Windows 7 default to "All Files" when opening a document?

    I'm taking over an old coworkers job and part of that means I'll be working on various IFS tickets without any real ERP experience. I'm working with one user who is trying to check in documents in IFS. Right now, IFS defaults to JPEGs and then she has to select "All Files" in order find PDFs. Example: http://i.imgur.com/xK0iAfF.png As much as I'd like to say "it's one extra step, come on" the user's manager has insisted it interrupts her workflow and asked us to get on it. I've spoken with our IFS experts and they're unaware of any setting that would make the open dialog default to All Files in IFS. I've searched in Google for any setting in Windows 7 that would do that - but those have been unsuccessful - I keep getting results about changing which program opens a specific file type.

    Hi, I'm looking for a way to make Google Chrome always open PDFs with its internal viewer when I click a link, as opposed to downloading it to the default location. It works with most URLs, but some servers set a special header to force the file to be downloaded ("Content-Disposition: attachment;", e.g. http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/46260.html). What I want is the opposite of this question: Stop PDFs from displaying inside Google Chrome, or what is asked for here, but applied to Chrome: How to ignore “Content-Disposition: attachment” in Firefox Btw., I'm running Chrome 8.0.552.0 dev on Ubuntu 10.4.

    I try to create a PDF with multiple pages and need to calculate the height of each individual element (MultiCell) in advance to prepare for a page break. According to the documentation there are a couple of functions out there like GetCharWidth/GetStringWidth to support me in doing it on my own, but besides a potential performance lost I probably will not do it the right anyway.     Im using a axAcroPDFLib control taken from a Adobe Reader 9 installation to show and print user PDF documents within my C# window forms application. Everything works just fine untill the appication close... It throws the following error: The instruction at "0x0700609c" referenced memory at "0x00000014".     Hi, I would like to use a UIWebView to display some files (PDF, PPT, DOC) and would like to have the ability to scroll using external controls (ie a couple of buttons that, when pressed skip back and forward a page) and display the current page in a UITextView.     In am using MS Word via OLE to produce documents from my application. I want to give the users that have MS Office 2007 SP2 installed the ability to save the documents as PDF. This is only available in SP2, and the option should be hidden if the service pack is not installed (and of course also for users of previous versions of MS Office). Is this information available anywhere, like in the registry or any configuration file?

    Hi, I am trying to move content in a pdf document using pdfSharp. We have a number of documents that are the same size i.e. 488x320mm, the content within these documents is always positioned relative to the top right of the document but varies in size i.e. 210x330mm, 240x350mm etc. What i need to do is 'find' the content block and move it from its current position to the centre of the sheet. Please help!

    I am using pdf2swf (http://www.swftools.org/) to convert PDF's to .swf. I have written a flex application that loads the swf generated by pdf2swf. I want to enable select , copy and paste functions on the loaded swf. Is there a way to do this. Please note I am able to extract the text from the loaded swf using textSnapshot, which means the pdf2swf does not convert the text to shapes.
