  • Which controls are being used?

    Are there any tools available that allow you to 'look' at any given application and show you which WinForm controls are being used in that application? I happen to have an app which I like the GUI of, and I want to use a similar structure in my own app. Instead of developing these controls myself, it may be easier to buy them, if only I can spot which are being used... Any suggestions?

  • EF4 - possible to mock ObjectContext for unit testing?

    Can it be done without using TypeMock Islolator? I've found a few suggestions online such as passing in a metadata only connection string, however nothing I've come across besides TypeMock seems to truly allow for a mock ObjectContext that can be injected into services for unit testing. Do I plunk down the $$ for TypeMock, or are there alternatives? Has nobody managed to create anything comparable to TypeMock that is open source?

    Hello, I would like to know if is there any easy way to test actionscript by using some kind of application like ruby's irb or javasctip spidermonkey where you can just open up your terminal and type the code straight away. This would be a good time saver when speaking of actionscript, since to test some syntaxes, classes, etc. you would need to compile it via fsch. but still not a good option just for quick testing, etc...     Is there any way to get around this exception? Can I not call a .NET 2.0 from 3.5? I have to write .NET 2.0 to maintain capability with BizTalk 2006/R2. But I would like to test with VS2008 Unit Tests to be consistent to other non-BizTalk code that we are testing. Test method ABC.UnitTest.UnitTest1.TestReferenceCode1 threw exception: System.MethodAccessException: ABC.EasyRegEx.extractUsingRegEx(System.String, System.String).

Is there a differt way to declare the PrivateMethods so that I can still unit test them but they are not Public ?

  • How can I assign more than one ValueProvider to ModelBindingContext when testing a custom model bind

    I have a custom model binder that uses data from session, tempdata, and form collection (hypothetically, of course!). When testing my model binder, need to create a ModelBindingContext with a ValueProvider. Trouble is, I can't see how I can have one ValueProvider that serves multiple value provider types. I'd like to verify that my application can handle a declined credit card or something like that. So is there a way to have Paypal send an error message?   • Is there any special tool for interactive GUI development

    Hi, Currently I am preparing exercises about networks and mobile communications for students. I was thinking about creating an interactive user-interface which enables the user to drag&drop predefined elements and then implement a logic based upon element distances etc. An example would be to place two base stations (a predefined element with several properties), set the scale in the interface and then check the signal interferrence in the environment (user-interface). The first part might be too abstract whereas the example might be too specific, but I was wondering whether there already exists any friendly framework or language which enables developers to create interactive interfaces (for teaching/learning purpouses) in short ammount of time. Usually I write applications for PC environment in .NET but in this case it would take too much time to create a specific interface for every exercise. I would appreciate if anyone could suggest any way to create interactive user-interface in short ammount of time. Are there any special programming languages or development tools for this kind of applications or are there any useful frameworks for .NET, Java or any other language to speed up the development of user-interfaces?     I'm evaluating Watir right now. While Selenium has a dragAndDropToObject command (which seems to be broken) Watir seems not to have such a command. I couldn't find a script/tutorial with an example of how to test DnD with Watir. Did anybody try/succeed in testing drag-and-drop with Watir? Btw.: I am using jQuery for the DnD implementation.

    I've been building a framework and writing unit tests in GHUnit. One of my Framework's accessor methods returns an NSInteger. I assert the expected value in the tests like this: GHAssertEquals(1320, request.port, @"Port number should be 1320"); When running my tests with an AppKit UI based frontend this assertion passes. However, when I run my tests on the command line, it fails with a type-mismatch unless I type-cast my hard-coded 1320 as (NSInteger). What's causing the difference in the way the integer is being interpreted by the compiler? Is xcodebuild on the command line using a different data-type for hard coded integers?

    Hi Everyone, I use this pattern to test for undefined and null values in ActionScript/Flex : if(obj) { execute() } Unfortunately, a ReferenceError is always thrown when I use the pattern to test for child objects : if(obj.child) { execute() } ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property child not found on obj and there is no default value. Why does testing for child objects with if statements throw a ReferenceError? Thanks!
