  • Visual Studio Templates - adding additional pre-existing projects

    - by Bob Palmer
Hey all, I'm working on a Visual Studio template where the generated project relies on a number of references, which happen to be other projects under source control. The question is how do I set this up in my ProjectGroup template? For example, if I have an already existing project at "C:\Stuff\MyUtilityProject\Utility.csproj" with a single file (Tools.cs) that I want to add to my template, how would I go about this? Here's what my vstempalte looks like. FYI - I am having no issues with the ProjectTemplateLink or creation of the Solution folder, just in adding the pre-existing Utility.csproj to my new solution: Thanks in advance! <VSTemplate Version="2.0.0" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/vstemplate/2005" Type="ProjectGroup"> <TemplateData> <Name>MySampleSolution</Name> <Description>My Test Project</Description> <ProjectType>CSharp</ProjectType> <Icon>__TemplateIcon.ico</Icon> </TemplateData> <TemplateContent> <ProjectCollection> <SolutionFolder Name="Content"> <Project File="C:\Stuff\MyUtilityProject\Utility.csproj"> <ProjectItem>Tools.cs</ProjectItem> </Project> </SolutionFolder> <ProjectTemplateLink ProjectName="MyWorkingTemplate"> MyWorkingTemplate\MyTemplate.vstemplate </ProjectTemplateLink> </ProjectCollection> </TemplateContent> </VSTemplate>

  • Contact-app like scrollinglist on android

    - by Alxandr
I'm writing my first android app (I'm a noob at android, but decent at java). The first screen of the app consists of a huge list (about 1.5K items) of Manga-objects. The code I use is as following: main.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ListView android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:id="@+id/android:list"></ListView> <TextView android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:text="@string/list_no_items" android:id="@+id/android:empty"></TextView> </LinearLayout> row.xml: <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:padding="6dip" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_marginRight="6dip" android:src="@drawable/icon" /> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/toptext" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:gravity="center_vertical" /> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:id="@+id/bottomtext" android:singleLine="true" android:ellipsize="marquee" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> Then I have a adapter which basically takes a Manga-object and puts it's name in the rows toptext, and it's latest updated date in the bottomtext. However, (this might be caused by the virtualization of the unit though), the result is really slow. Scrolling the list takes forever and you can only scroll small peaces of the time. How can I make the list work like the one in the contacts-app? So that when you start scrolling a handle pops out at the right side of the screen, and when you drag it letters shows up as of how far you've scrolled (the list is sorted alphabetically), and also, is there a way I could improve the performance of the list?

  • System Tray Popup Windows 7 Style

    - by Mason Blier
Hey All, I want something like this: http://cybernetnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/windows-7-wireless.jpg This window is not resizable, and aligns itself above the system tray icon which it is related to. I have this: http://i.imgur.com/79FZi.png Which is resizeable, and it goes wherever it feels like. If you click the volume control in Win 7, it always pops up directly above the icon. This is ideal. I've found this reference which I think is trying to solve the same problem (can't tell though as the images are dead), http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2169006/create-a-system-tray-styled-box-in-winforms-c but I'm using WPF and I'm not sure how to get these Form objects they refer to from my Window object. This is the XAML declaration of my window atm, <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" x:Class="WirelessControl.Window1" x:Name="Window" Title="Window1" Width="260" Height="370" mc:Ignorable="d" WindowStyle="None"></Window> I feel like based on how common this is in Windows that there must be a fairly easy way to do this. ResizeMode="NoResize" causes my window border to disappear, so that's no help. Thanks guys, I hope I was comprehensive enough.

  • Custom UITableViewCell won't redraw on setNeedsDisplay

    - by Andrew Portner
I created a custom UITableViewCell class with a UIButton, a UIImage, and two UILabels. The button and the image are overlayed on top of each other, and only one is displayed at a time. The expected behavior is you touch on the button, the button disappears, and it displays the image. The UITableViewCells are set to be reused. Here's my code: Constructor: - (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewCellStyle)style reuseIdentifier:(NSString *)reuseIdentifier { if (self = [super initWithStyle:style reuseIdentifier:reuseIdentifier]) { unheartButton = [[UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom] retain]; unheartButton.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; unheartButton.frame = CGRectMake(10, 13, 20, 18); [unheartButton addTarget:self action:@selector(onButtonClick:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; [unheartButton setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"redheart.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] init]; imageView.frame = CGRectMake(12, 13, 16, 16); NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; for (int ndx = 1; ndx < 13; ndx++) { [array addObject:[UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"icon-loading-%d (dragged).tiff", ndx]]]; } imageView.animationImages = array; imageView.animationDuration = 1; imageView.hidden = YES; [array release]; [self.contentView addSubview:imageView]; [self.contentView addSubview:unheartButton]; return self; } } Button click: - (IBAction) onButtonClick: (id) sender { unheartButton.hidden = YES; imageView.hidden = NO; [imageView startAnimating]; [self setNeedsDisplay]; [self.contentView setNeedsDisplay]; [self.unheartButton setNeedsDisplay]; [self.imageView setNeedsDisplay]; } I'm calling setNeedsDisplay on everything, but nothing seems to happen. If I scroll off the screen and back up, the button is hidden and now the loading icon is shown, but this only happens after a scroll. I'm not sure what I need to do to get the cell to repaint.

  • Programmatically creating vector arrows in KML

    - by mettadore
Does anyone have any practical examples of programmatically drawing icons as vectors in KML? Specifically, I have data with a magnitude and an azimuth at given coordinates, and I would like to have icons (or another graphical element) generated based on these values. Some thoughts on how I might approach it: Image directory (a brute force way): Make an image director of 360 different image files (probably batch rotate a single image) each pointing in a cooresponding azimuth. I've seen things like "Excel to KML," but am looking for code that I can use within a program, rather than a web utility. Issue: Arrow does not contain magnitude context, so that would have to be a label. I'd rather dynamically lengthen the arrow. Line creation in KML: Perhaps create a formula that creates a line with the origin at the coordinate points, with the length of the line proportional to the magnitute, and angled according to azimuth. There would then be two more lines, perhaps 30 degrees or so extending from the end of the previous line to make the arrow head. Issues: Not a separate image icon, so not sure how it would work in KML. Also not sure how easy it would be to generate this algorithm. Separate image generation: Perhaps create a PHP file that uses imagemagick or something similar to dynamically generate a .png file in a similar method to the above, and then link to the icon using the URI "domain.tld/imagegen.php?magnitude=magvalue&azimuth=azmvalue". Issue: Still have the problem of actually writing the algorithm for image generation. So, the question: has anyone else come up with solutions for programmatic vector (rather than merely arrow) generation?

  • iPhone SDK - UITabBarConroller and custom design

    - by Cheryl
Hi I am having a problem with my tab bars at the bottom of the screen. The designer has decided it should be one colour (not black) when inactive and another colour when active. I have worked out how to replace the main colour of the tabbar by subclassing UITabBarController and doing this:- - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect frame = CGRectMake(0.0, 0, self.view.bounds.size.width, self.view.bounds.size.height); UIView *v = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; //get percentage values from digitalcolour meter and enter as decimals v.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed:.0 green:.706 blue:.863 alpha:1]; [tabBar1 insertSubview:v atIndex:0]; [v release]; } I just can't see how to make the active tabbar be a separate colour when it is selected. I have tried subclassing UITabBarItem but there doesn't seem to be any property for me to set to change the background colour of the tab. They also want to have the icons on the tab bar not be blue and grey and I can't figure out how to do that. In the ViewController for one tab bar item I have put this into viewdidload:- myTabBarItem *tabItem = [[myTabBarItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"listOOO" image:[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"] tag:1]; tabItem.customHighlightedImage=[UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; self.tabBarItem=tabItem; [tabItem release]; tabItem=nil; and in my subclass of UITabBarItem I have put this:- -(UIImage *) selectedImage{ return self.customHighlightedImage; } Only I don't see the icon at all. If I put this into the viewDidLoad of my subclass of UITabBarController:- for (UITabBarItem *item in tabBar1.items){ item.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"starcopy.png"]; } Then all my tab bars have the icon but they are blue (and grey when inactive) how would I get them not to become blue but stay their original colour? If you have any light on this problem please help as I have been banking my head on the wall for 2 days now and it's getting me down. Thanks in advance Cheryl

  • Visual Studio template not showing

    - by David
Hi all I've followed this tutorial to try to add a template to Visual Studio: http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/visual-studio-how-to-create-item-templates The template I have created is designed to add one predefined .aspx and one predefined .aspx.cs file to the project. The folder contains the following files: MoosePage.aspx MoosePage.aspx.cs MoosePage.vstemplate MoosePageItemTemplateIcon.ico The .vstemplate file looks like this: <VSTemplate Type="Item" Version="2.0.0" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/vstemplate/2005"> <TemplateData> <Name>MoosePage</Name> <Description>MoosePage Template</Description> <DefaultName>NewMoosePage</DefaultName> <ProjectType>CSharp</ProjectType> <Icon>MoosePageItemTemplateIcon.ico</Icon> </TemplateData> <TemplateContent> <ProjectItem TargetFileName="$fileinputname$.aspx" ReplaceParameters="true"> MoosePage.aspx </ProjectItem> <ProjectItem TargetFileName="$fileinputname$.aspx.cs" ReplaceParameters="true"> MoosePage.aspx.cs </ProjectItem> </TemplateContent> </VSTemplate> I have zipped the files up (.zip not .zipx) and placed the zip folder in My Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Templates\ItemTemplates\VisualWebDeveloper. I have restarted Visual Studio. When I go into my website project and choose Add New Item, I don't see my new template. Can anyone suggest what might have gone wrong? Thanks David

  • Android crashes when calling ImageButton

    - by Joël
I have a crash (Application Stopped Unexpectedly) problem with this main.xml is a "HelloWorld" type project (while testing and learning features I need for my app) : I isolated the ImageButton as an issue, but I can't isolate any of the parameters... <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <ImageButton android:id="@+id/picture" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="180dip" android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal" android:src="@drawable/icon" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:cropToPadding="true" android:clickable="true" android:scaleType="fitCenter" /> </LinearLayout> icon.png exists in my resources... I can see the preview in the Layout tab, even though the image is not centered on the button, but I read that it was normal. The code below works fine (as a regular Button). I can also do the same as an ImageView. <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <Button android:id="@+id/picture" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="180dip" android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal" /> </LinearLayout> I use Eclipse and the AVD, and all my learning is done on 2.1 (SDK level 7). I can't test the app on an actual device yet as I don't have it yet. Thanks in advance !

  • Why doesn't my android application show up in the launcher?

    - by rushinge
    I'm developing an application for the Android platform targeted for api level 4 (Android 1.6) but I can't get it to show up on my phone and I can't figure out why. Here's my AndroidManifest.xml is there a problem in here? Or is there something else I should be looking at? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.sbe.app.hellocogen" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".activity.ListPlants" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".activity.AddPlant" android:label="Add Plant"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".activity.UnitActivity" android:label="IP HERE, PLANT NAME"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"/> <category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT"/> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="4"/> </manifest> When I started this application it didn't show up but I fixed it by setting the minimum api level to 4 instead of 7 then it started showing up but now it stopped showing up again and I don't know why.

  • java TrayIcon using image with transparent background

    - by Jack
    I am using the following code to set a tray icon in Windows and Linux. It works wonderful in Windows and works okay in Linux. In Linux (Ubuntu) I have my panel set to be (somewhat) transparent and when I add a GIF (with a transparent background) the background of the icon shows up all grey and ugly (see image, green diamond "!")....Any ideas on how to make the GIF image I am adding "keep" its transparent background? and the image I am using, if you'd like to test: import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class TrayFun { static class ShowMessageListener implements ActionListener { TrayIcon trayIcon; String title; String message; TrayIcon.MessageType messageType; ShowMessageListener( TrayIcon trayIcon, String title, String message, TrayIcon.MessageType messageType) { this.trayIcon = trayIcon; this.title = title; this.message = message; this.messageType = messageType; } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { trayIcon.displayMessage(title, message, messageType); } } public static void main(String args[]) { Runnable runner = new Runnable() { public void run() { if (SystemTray.isSupported()) { final SystemTray tray = SystemTray.getSystemTray(); Image image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("green_info.png"); PopupMenu popup = new PopupMenu(); final TrayIcon trayIcon = new TrayIcon(image, "The Tip Text", popup); trayIcon.setImageAutoSize(true); MenuItem item = new MenuItem("Close"); item.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { tray.remove(trayIcon); } }); popup.add(item); try { tray.add(trayIcon); } catch (AWTException e) { System.err.println("Can't add to tray"); } } else { System.err.println("Tray unavailable"); } } }; EventQueue.invokeLater(runner); } }

  • Can't get NUnit to work in Visual Web Develper 2010 express.

    - by UkraineTrain
First off I was wondering whether it's possible to implement a functionality with Nunit where each time a project is created in Visual Web Developer 2010 I get a dialog asking whether I want to create a unit test project for current application like I saw it happen in the older versions of Visual Web Developer. I've tried just about everything to get NUnit 2.5.5 to work in Visual Web Developer 2010. For example, in nunit.exe.config I added under configuration <startup> <requiredRuntime version="v4.0.30319" /> </startup> and under runtime: <loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true" /> I then tried to launch nunit-console.exe in order to specify in the command line the option /framework=net-4.0, but the console would appear and instantly disappear. It didn't help when I tried running it as an administrator. I've also tried using Nunit as an external tool inside the Visual Web Developer by creating a toolbar as described in the following link: http://www.marthijnvandenheuvel.com/2010/06/09/using-nunit-in-visual-studio-2010/. It shows up as an icon in the toolbar. I ran my project called ToyStore and then clicked Nunit icon in order to launch it and it gave me a "System.IO.FileNotFoundException:Assembly not found:ToyStore.dll". So, needless to say, I'm pretty lost and don't know what to do and would greatly appreciate any help in getting Nunit to work.

  • XAML ContextMenu gets bound to wrong row in a DataGrid

    - by Simon_Weaver
I have a XAML based ContextMenu bound to the rows in a datagrid. It works just fine - until the grid is scrolled! This is the context menu for one of the controls in the visual tree or a DataGrid row. <data:DataGridTemplateColumn Header="Customer Details" Width="*"> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid Background="Transparent"> <!-- allows click in entire cell --> <controlsInputToolkit:ContextMenuService.ContextMenu> <controlsInputToolkit:ContextMenu> <controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem Header="{Binding CompletedOrderId,StringFormat='Create Reminder for order #\{0\}'}" CommandParameter="{Binding}"> <controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem.Command> <command:CreateReminderCommand/> </controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem.Command> <controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem.Icon> <Viewbox> <Image Width="19" Height="18" Source="../images/reminders.png" VerticalAlignment="Center"/> </Viewbox> </controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem.Icon> </controlsInputToolkit:MenuItem> <controlsInputToolkit:ContextMenu> <controlsInputToolkit:ContextMenuService.ContextMenu> ...... The ICommand is CreateReminderCommand and the CommandParameter is bound to the data item for the row itself. This works just fine - I can right click on a row and it will show me the correct text in the menu item 'Create Reminder for order 12345'. Then I scroll the datagrid down a page. If I keep right clicking on items then suddenly I'll see the wrong order number for a row. I think what must be happening is this : The DataGrid is reusing instances of MenuItem that it has previously created. How can I force a refresh of the ContextMenu when it is displayed for an item that changes? There's no 'Update method on the ContextMenu or ContextMenuService.

  • trouble with font-face in meteor based on Discover Meteor microscope app

    - by charliemagee
I've gone through the Discover Meteor book and successfully created Microscope. Now I'm trying to build my own app based on what I've learned. I want to use @font-face for fonts and icon fonts. I can't get them to show up. Here's my directory structure: client/stylesheets I've got my fonts in the stylesheets folder. I'm using scss, by the way, and that's working fine with the scss package. Here's how I'm calling the fonts in the stylesheet: @font-face { font-family: 'AmaranthItalic'; src: url('Amaranth-Italic-webfont.eot'); src: url('Amaranth-Italic-webfont.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'), url('Amaranth-Italic-webfont.woff') format('woff'), url('Amaranth-Italic-webfont.ttf') format('truetype'), url('Amaranth-Italic-webfont.svg#AmaranthItalic') format('svg'); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; } I've tried '/stylesheets/Amaranth etc. and all other combinations that I can think of and nothing is working. I've tried putting them in public. Nothing. I know files like this are supposed to go in public folder but that seems to kill the stylesheets entirely. I'm not sure why the Microscope directory design would cause that to happen. These question/answers didn't help: using font-face in meteor? Icon font from fontello not working with Meteor js Thanks for any help.

  • Android : Customizing tabs on state : How do I make a selector a drawable

    - by Chrispix
I know how to put the icon on each tab, that is no problem. I also ran across this : Stack Overflow thread on pretty much same thing I followed one of the links from that question, and found this Pretty much, it said use a selector defined in the xml, sure, did that. But there is no id associated w/ it so I am not sure how to get the selector function as a drawable so I can use it as the icon for the tabs. Maybe I am going about this the wrong way.. But this is what I have, and obviously missing something. <selector android:id="@+id/myselector" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <!-- Non focused states --> <item android:state_focused="false" android:state_selected="false" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/darklogo" /> <item android:state_focused="false" android:state_selected="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/lightlogo" /> <!-- Focused states --> <item android:state_focused="true" android:state_selected="false" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/lightlogo" /> <item android:state_focused="true" android:state_selected="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/lightlogo" /> <!-- Pressed --> <item android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/lightlogo" /> </selector> In my code, an example tab is generated using : host.addTab(host.newTabSpec("three") .setIndicator("map",drawables) .setContent(new Intent(this, Map.class))); Right now drawables is just a reference to an drawable image resource. How do I make the selector a drawable? * This is my question *

  • Android application transparency and window sizing at root level

    - by ajoburg
Is it possible to create an application with a transparent background on the root task such that you can see the task running beneath it when it is part of a separate stack? Alternatively, is it possible to run an application so the window of the root task is only a portion of the screen instead of the whole screen? I understand how the transparency and window sizing is done with activities that are not the root task and this works fine. However, the root task of an activity seems to always fill the whole screen and be black even when a transparent theme is applied to the application object in the manifest file. ApplicationManifest.xml: <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="true" android:theme="@style/Theme.Transparent"> Styles.xml <resources> <style name="Theme.Transparent"> <item name="android:windowIsTranslucent">true</item> <item name="android:windowNoTitle">true</item> <item name="android:windowBackground">@drawable/ transparent_background</item> <item name="android:windowAnimationStyle">@android:style/ Animation.Translucent</item> <item name="android:colorForeground">#fff</item> <item name="android:windowIsFloating">true</item> <item name="android:gravity">bottom</item> </style> </resources> Colors.xml <resources> <drawable name="transparent_background">#00000000</drawable> </resources>

Hi, since I started iPhone/iPod Development I have come across some differences between how the simulator and how real device react. Maybe I will come across some other differences I will have to figure out as well, maybe other people haven't met these problems here (YET) and can profit from the knowledge, and maybe you know some problems/differences that you would have been happy to know about earlier before you spent several hours or days figuring out what the heck is going on. So here is what I came across. Simulator is not case sensitive, Devices are case sensitive. This means a default.png or Icon.png will work in simulator, but not on a device where they must be named Default.png and icon.png (if it's still not working read this answer) Simulator has different codecs to play audio and video If you use f.e. MPMoviePlayerController you might play certain video on the simulator while on the device it won't work (use Handbrake-presets-iPhone & iPod Touch to create playable videos for Simulator and Device). If you play audio with AudioServicesPlaySystemSound(&soundID) you might here the sound on simulator but not an a device. (use Audacity to open your soundfile, export as wav and run afconvert -f caff -d LEI16@44100 -c 1 audacity.wav output.caf in terminal) Also there is this flickering on second run problem which can be resolved with an playerViewCtrl.initialPlaybackTime = -1.0; either on the end of playing or before each beginning. Simulator is mostly much faster cause it doesn't simulate the hardware but uses Mac resources, therefore f.e. sio2 Apps (OpenGL,OpenAL,etc. framework) run much better on simulator, well everything that uses more resources will run visibly better in simulator than on device. I hope we can add some more to this.

  • Asynchronous Image loading in certain custom UITableViewCells

    - by Dan
So, I'm sure that this issue has been brought up before, but I haven't quite seen a solution for my specific problem. What I'm doing is loading a group of custom UITableViewCell's that are drawn using Loren Brichter's solution, each cell has some content, an icon (representing the user) that is asynchronously loaded into it, and a few other things. Eventually, I'm hoping to add support for images. Not every cell has an image, so in the creation of the cell, it determines if an image is required to be loaded and drawn into the cell. My problem is that I don't know how I can do that while keeping the image loaded asynchronously - with not every cell having the need to load an image (like needed with the icon) I'm not sure how to keep it in order when an cell is thrown off screen and re-rendered when the user scrolls over it. Each cell draws it content from an NSArray containing a custom object called FeedItem. All I'm really looking for is some sort of solution or idea to help me because right now I am at a loss. Thanks guys, I will appreciate the help.

  • Qt 4.x: how to implement drag-and-drop onto the desktop or into a folder?

    - by Jeremy Friesner
Hi all, I've written a little file-transfer application written in C++ using Qt 4.x ... it logs into a server, shows the user a list of files available on the server, and lets the user upload or download files. This all works fine; you can even drag a file in from the desktop (or from an open folder), and when you drop the file icon into the server-files-list-view, the dropped file gets uploaded to the server. Now I have a request for the opposite action as well... my users would like to be able to drag a file out of the server-files-list-view and onto the desktop, or into an open folder window, and have that file get downloaded into that location. That seems like a reasonable request, but I don't know how to implement it. Is there a way for a Qt application to find out the directory corresponding to where "drop event" occurred, when the icon was dropped onto the desktop or into an open folder window? Ideally this would be a Qt-based platform-neutral mechanism, but if that doesn't exist, then platform-specific mechanisms for MacOS/X and Windows (XP or higher) would suffice. Any ideas?

  • Get Eclipse to recognize the maps api

    - by NickTFried
Hi I'm developing an Android app and trying to incorporate maps into one of my sub-activities. Having followed all of the instructions from Android, my java file will not recognize the "MapActivity" or the import statements to include the needed api. Here is my XML manifest and my class file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <uses-permission android:name="android.permissions.INTERNET"/> <uses-permission android:name="android.permissions.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION"/> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> <activity android:name=".CadetCommand" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name="RedLight"></activity> <activity android:name="PTCalculator"></activity> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7"/> here is my java file: package edu.elon.cs.mobile; import com.google.android.maps.MapActivity; import com.google.android.maps.MapView; import android.os.Bundle; public class LandNav extends MapActivity{ } Any suggestion would help.

  • My PreferenceActivity does not show up, even though it is in my manifest file

    - by Charlie
    So I am modifying the Cube live wallpaper example. I have a class that extends PreferenceActivity, and I added the Activity in my manifest file. I keep getting ActivityNotFoundExceptions. Here is my preference class : public class MySettingsActivity extends PreferenceActivity implements SharedPreferences.OnSharedPreferenceChangeListener { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle bundle) { super.onCreate(bundle); getPreferenceManager().setSharedPreferencesName( ParticleCandy.SHARED_PREFS_NAME); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.settings); getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().registerOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); } @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); } @Override protected void onDestroy() { getPreferenceManager().getSharedPreferences().unregisterOnSharedPreferenceChangeListener( this); super.onDestroy(); } public void onSharedPreferenceChanged(SharedPreferences sharedPreferences, String key) { } } And here is my manifest file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.pixel.theory.wallpapers.mywallpaper" android:versionCode="1" android:versionName="1.0"> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <service android:label="@string/app_name" android:name="MyWallpaper" android:permission="android.permission.BIND_WALLPAPER" > <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.service.wallpaper.WallpaperService"> </action> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> <uses-feature android:name="android.software.live_wallpaper" /> </manifest> Any ideas why my preferences activity doesn't get read in from the manifest?

  • jQuery ui datepicker positioning problem when scrolling down webpage

    - by Remnant
I have a webpage that uses multiple instances of the jQuery ui datepicker. My webpage will display ~80 records which extends beyond a single screenshot. <% foreach (var record in Model) { %> <div class="recordname"><%=record.name%></div> <%=Html.TextBox("DateTimePicker", null, new { @class = "date-pick" } )%> // <-- additional html here --> <% } %> I have set the defaults of my datepicker as follows: $(".date-pick").each(function() { $(this).datepicker({ dateFormat: 'dd M yy', showOn: 'button', buttonImage: '/Images/datepickericon.png', buttonImageOnly: true }); }); When the page first loads, if I click any datepicker icon that is visible on screen (i.e. without scrolling) then the datepicker appears as expected. However, if I scroll down the page and then click a datepicker icon, the datepicker does not appear in the screen window but is instead rendered right back near the top of the screen. Any ideas how to solve this? I am using: IE7 asp.net mvc jquery.ui.datepicker.js (UI/API/1.8/Datepicker)

  • Disabling redraw in WinForms app

    - by Ryan
I'm working on a C#.Net application which has a somewhat annoying bug in it. The main window has a number of tabs, each of which has a grid on it. When switching from one tab to another, or selecting a different row in a grid, it does some background processing, and during this the menu flickers as it's redrawn (File, Help, etc menu items as well as window icon and title). I tried disabling the redraw on the window while switching tabs/rows (WM_SETREDRAW message) at first. In one case, it works perfectly. In the other, it solves the immediate bug (title/menu flicker), but between disabling the redraw and enabling it again, the window is "transparent" to mouse clicks - there's a small window (<1 sec) in which I can click and it will, say, highlight an icon on my desktop, as if the app wasn't there at all. If I have something else running in the background (Firefox, say) it will actually get focus when clicked (and draw part of the browser, say the address bar.) Here's code I added. m = new Message(); m.HWnd = System.Windows.Forms.Application.OpenForms[0].Handle; //top level m.WParam = (IntPtr)0; //disable redraw m.LParam = (IntPtr)0; //unused m.Msg = 11; //wm_setredraw WndProc(ref m); <snip - Application ignores clicks while in this section (in one case) m = new Message(); m.HWnd = System.Windows.Forms.Application.OpenForms[0].Handle; //top level m.WParam = (IntPtr)1; //enable m.LParam = (IntPtr)0; //unused m.Msg = 11; //wm_setredraw WndProc(ref m); System.Windows.Forms.Application.OpenForms[0].Refresh(); Does anyone know if a) there's a way to fix the transparent-application problem here, or b) if I'm doing it wrong in the first place and this should be fixed some other way?
