• Openlayers - LayerRedraw() / Feature rotation / Linestring coords

  TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. Or figure out how to plot a triangle based off one set of coords & a heading(see below). I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug. If I were to draw a triangle with an array of points & linestring. How would I go about facing the triangle towards the heading. • Restart mysql keeping the data

  Hi all, I'm quite new using mysql, so let me know if I'm missing something. I took some holidays, and when I got back to work and I tried to log in phpmyadmin I got a ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2). I never had this problem, so I was browsing to look for a solution. I tried some things, and I'm afraid I touched too much. I couldn't solve the problem, and the I realized that I had some actualizations to be done, and I thought that they may be helpful for mysql. Then I also realized that when I was doing this actualizations first day, they stopped because I had a lack of space, so I restarted then. Then,when the system was configuring mysql, it didn't advance. I waited for a long time and then I just stopped it and restarted the computer. After it, I just tried to uninstall mysql with sudo apt-get remove mysql-server-5.1, and install it again, but it didn't work. Now I have 2 questions: What do you think it is happening? Should I remove mysql completely? What should I do? I'm afraid of losing my databases, is there anyway to recover the data? • Screen is greyed out after power failure shutdown: Mac OSX

  When the battery power is down and the unit not plugged in the computer is forced into a sleep mode requiring pushing the start button when power is re-connected. The initial desktop screen appears to be greyed out and is unresponsive with a timer bar which, when the timing sequence is complete restores an active desktop. I can't find any reference to this phenomenon in the OSX literature I have. Any pointers to where I can get more information? Perhaps I am using the wrong search criteria?

  I have been backing up a MacBook Pro to an external hard disk with Time Machine. I got a new laptop, used the firewire connector to pull the universe across to it, and started it up. It does not want to just pick up where I left off with the backups; it wants to start a new backup sequence and thus I need a ton of additional disk space. Does anyone know a way to force it to just incrementally back up to the existing backup set?

• Mysql innoDB corruption after server crash

  Yesterday my server died because an outage in the data center. Today it's back up, but having some problems with mysql. First of all my mysql server was not able to start. For this reason I deleted the files ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1 in /var/lib/mysql folder (I still have the old failing files). After this my server was able to startup again. But now I see a lot of issues in the mysql log file. I have a backup but not sure what's the good way on importing it. Or is there a way to recover without having to re-import the database again? So if I'm correct I need to put innodb_force_recovery to 4 in mysql and delete all current data and re-import? Is there a way to do this without having downtime? I also have one slave running. This slave has the current status now: Last_Error: Relay log read failure: Could not parse relay log event entry. The possible reasons are: the master's binary log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the binary log), the slave's relay log is corrupted (you can check this by running 'mysqlbinlog' on the relay log), a network problem, or a bug in the master's or slave's MySQL code. If you want to check the master's binary log or slave's relay log, you will be able to know their names by issuing 'SHOW SLAVE STATUS' on this slave. How can I totally reset the slave after the new import on the master has happend? Hopefully we can find a solution without not to much downtime. Thanks!

• Thinkpad speaker turns mute - Linux Codec issue?

  At some point a few days ago the speakers on my Lenovo Thinkpad T410 (Model number: 2537A11) suddenly stopped working randomly. This error happens every time I watch a video or listen to a music file. The sound just abruptly stops. At the moment, I can't produce a single sound no matter what I do. I am using Debian GNU/Linux on this laptop and there doesn't appear to be anything else wrong (the fan is working, no abnormal heat (staying around ~40°C), no other obvious errors or problems). I wonder if this bdl_pos_adj is the real reason for the error. Here is my hardware information provided by alsa-info.sh website. Okay, i did some serious testing and even installed Windows and now i officially conclude that this is a hard-ware related issue with my Laptop speakers. Reason: The error occurs in my installed Debian Linux, an Ubuntu Live distribution and Windows XP No error-message appears in all of the OS. The sound just keeps running and i can't hear a thing. I tested different setups, including OSS, ALSA and the pulseaudio server on top If i use my new usb-headphones i can hear sound all the time without any sudden silences. So obviously, although hard to believe, my laptop speakers are not okay (never heard of similar cases). I'll award the bounty to anyone who can point me to good tutorials or the procedure how to exchange my T410 speakers (i still have warranty. The laptop was bought in Germany, but now i am in Denmark). Or to someone who can explain me the output from hda-analyzer (big log above).

Use case: Under environment-imposed time constraints, multiple terminal windows have been opened without forethought. In order to reduce the risk of typing the commands for system A into the terminal for system B, it would be nice if they were different colors.   Is there a way to watch Linux boot as though it was a program compiled with GCC on a Linux environment using the -g switch so, say, I can step through the entire boot sequence from GRUB onwards, choosing to step through at C source level or assembly when necessary/desirable, by using GDB or a GDB-like tool? I suspect it would require a virtual machine at least, to watch the boot on a host environment. Any elaboration on this topic of observing a boot would be appreciated!

  Is there a way to forcibly terminate an SSH session in PuTTY, short of closing the PuTTY window? For example, in OpenSSH, I can use the ~. escape sequence to kill the connection. This is useful when the SSH session stops responding for some reason, but I don't want to lose any of my current session-specific settings. In that case, I'd like to kill the session and then use Restart Session to reconnect.

• How do I create a SCCM package where the main installation initiates self-contained msi's?

  I have a few applications that are installed using InstallShield -- during the installation one or two parts of the application are installed with msi's. I've tried recording an iss file to instruct the installation process, but these installations always seem to freeze up. I've also tried installing in a sequence, first installing the msi's, but this doesn't prevent the main installation from trying to install these. Any tips/suggestions/ideas? Thanks!

• What is the logic behind IE7s Ctrl-Tab order?

  Using Ctrl+Tab in Internet Explorer 7 (on Windows XP) seems to follow no sequence that I can work out. Using Shift+Ctrl+Tab even jumps around with no clear logic in what tab order is being followed. It doesn't even work to the reverse as expected from using it in other programs, such as Firefox. Please explain to me how this key combo works in IE7 because I can't figure it out.

  My problem started yesterday night when I tried to change the my.cnf config on my ubuntu 12.04 x64 System. I simply tried to changed the bind-address parameter from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0. • Merge executables to avoid multiple UAC

  Is there a program that can merge multiple windows executables into one that can run concurrently or in a sequence. I realize this sounds like how virus's often work but I have real needs. I am trying to avoid multiple UAC prompts in an installation process that runs up multiple MS hot fixes. Any other advice on ways to avoid the UAC prompts when multple exe's are to be installed is appreciated.
