• Any "trick" to use some keys to launch an application?

  Hello, I am currently developing an free application (TaskOS ) that allow users to have multitasking and switch easily between applications on their mobile ( like alt+tab in Windows ) That work pretty well and user can launch my application by a long press on the "search" button" by adding this line in the manifest: <action android:name="android.intent.action.SEARCH_LONG_PRESS" /> I also succeed to allow to the users to Use the camera button ( they can of course disable that in application settings) and the way to do that is slighlty different: <receiver android:name=".CameraPressed"> <intent-filter android:priority="10000"> <action android:name="android.intent.action.CAMERA_BUTTON"/> </intent-filter> I am now wondering if there are other ways to launch easily my task switcher? ( long press on Home key, long press on trackball, or any other idea.) Reading the Google documentation does not help me a lot. Any other idea/suggestion would be warmly welcome. Christophe

  Hey, could you please share your way of unit testing in eclipse ? Are you using surefire plugin, m2eclipse & maven, or only testNG eclipse plugin ? Do you combine these alternatives ? I'm using testNG + maven surefire-plugin and I had been using the testNG eclipse plugin a year ago so that I could see the results in testNG view. Then I started using Maven, but when I do "maven test phase" using m2eclipse, there is only console output and surefire reports that I can check in browser and to choose what test suite, test, or test method can be set up only via testng.xml. On the other hand, if you use only surefire plugin and you have some specific settings regarding classpath etc., that you rely on, then running tests via testNG eclipse plugin doesn't have to be compatible with your code. Using surefire plugin, the classpath is different - target/test-classes and target/classes - than using testNG plugin, that is using the project classpath. How do you go about what I was just talking about? Is it possible to synchronize "maven test" using m2eclipse and surefire plugin WITH testNG eclipse plugin and view ? EDITED: I'm also wondering, why the Maven project ("Java build path") output folder is target/classes for src/main and src/test whereas surefire plugin makes two locations target/test-classes and target/classes Thank you very much for your your opinions.

• How do I get jQuery's Uploadify plugin to work with ASP.NET MVC?

  I'm in the process of trying to get the jQuery plugin, Uploadify, to work with ASP.NET MVC. If you notice, the "script" attribute is set to my /Placement/Upload, which is my Placement Controller and my Upload Action. The main problem is, I'm having difficulty getting this action to fire to receive the file. I've set a breakpoint on that action and when I select a file to upload, it isn't getting executed. I've tried changing the method signature based off this article: public string Upload(HttpPostedFileBase FileData) { /* * * Do something with the FileData * */ return "Upload OK!"; } But this still doesn't fire. Can anyone help me write and get the Upload controller action's signature correctly so it will actually fire? I can then handle dealing with the file data myself. I just need some help getting the method action to fire.

  In my application I catch a DragOver event and then perform an action. I'd like to wait for half a second before performing the action, the action should not be performed after that delay if the drag operation has ended. The only way I could think of to implement this feature is something like this: Function DragOver Event If TimerTimeReached Then PerformDragAction Else If Not TimerStarted StartTimer End End Function Function DragLeave Event If TimerStarted StopTimer End End Function Is there a better way to perform this operation?

• invite friends in a dialog in a Facebook application

  I'm trying to create a Facebook application that displays a friend invite dialog within the application using Facebook's Javascript API (FB.ui). To do that I followed this tutorial I have two problems : The action url I've put in the request-form is "http://apps.facebook.com/appname/post_invite.php" but I see that the iframe source after the post is "http://mydomain.com/post_invite.php" and when this iframe tries to do : parent.closeInviteWidget(); I get an error saying : "Permission denied for < http: //mydomain.com (document.domain has not been set) to get property Window.closeInviteWidget from < http:// apps.facebook.com (document.domain=< http:// facebook.com)." The skip button inside the request-form opens the action url in a new window (new browser tab) and not post to itself like the invite button.   Hello! I tried to catch 404 errors like this... But when i try to load http://localhost:11415/wfwe/wefwe/ - all good work. When i try to load http://localhost:11415/order/ - fail (with error The RouteData must contain an item named 'action' with a non-empty string value.) When i try to load http://localhost:11415/Images/ - fail with error File does not exist My routes: routes.Add("Order", new LowercaseRoute("Order/{action}/{id}", new RouteValueDictionary( new { controller = "Order", action = "", id = UrlParameter.Optional }), new MvcRouteHandler())); routes.Add("NotFound", new LowercaseRoute("{*url}", new RouteValueDictionary( new { controller = "Pages", action = "Http404", }), new MvcRouteHandler())); Why route NotFound - don't catch all 404 error. And When i try to upload to my hosting and try 404 i get this error (NotFound route not work at all) 404 - File or directory not found. Or even how to figure out after the images have loaded which have loaded and which haven't (but not graphically - I need to generate an array containing the filenames of the images that didn't load). • CakePHP Routes: Messing With The MVC

  So we have a real-estate-related site that has controller/action pairs like "homes/view", "realtors/edit", and so forth. From on high it has been deemed a good idea to refactor the site so that URLS are now in the format "/realtorname/homes/view/id", and perhaps also "/admin/homes/view/id" and/or "/region/..." As a mere CakePHP novice I'm finding it difficult to achieve this in routes.php. I can do the likes of: Router::connect('/:filter/h/:id', array('controller'=>'homes','action'=>'view')); Router::connect('/admin/:controller/:action/:id'); But I'm finding that the id is no longer being passed simply and elegantly to the actions, now that controller and action do not directly follow the domain. Therefore, questions: Is it a stupid idea to play fast and loose with the /controller/action format in this way? Is there a better way of stating these routes so that things don't break egregiously? Would we be better off going back to subdomains (the initial method of achieving this type of functionality, shot down on potentially spurious SEO-related grounds)? Many thanks for any advice! I'm sorry that I'm such a newbie that I don't know whether I'm asking stupid questions or not....

  We are using Eclipselink and need to weave the code in order for lazy fetching to work property. During the weave process I'm getting the following error: weave: BUILD FAILED java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space I have the following tasks within my ant build file: <target name="define_weave_task" description="task definition for EclipseLink static weaving"> <taskdef name="eclipse_weave" classname="org.eclipse.persistence.tools.weaving.jpa.StaticWeaveAntTask"/> </target> <target name="weave" depends="compile,define_weave_task" description="weave eclipselink code into compiled classes"> <eclipse_weave source="${path.classes}" target="${path.classes}"> <classpath refid="compile.classpath"/> </eclipse_weave> </target> It has been working great for a long time. Now that the amount of code to be woven has increased I'm getting the PermGen error. I would like to be able to up the amount of perm space. If I was doing a compile I would be able to up the perm space via a compiler argument such as <compilerarg value="-XX:MaxPermSize=256M"/> but this does not appear to be a valid argument for eclipselink weaving. How can I up the perm space for the weave?

• Zend Routes conflict

  I have defined 2 custom routes. One for threads/:id/:name and the other for threads/tags/:tagName however the second one conflicts with the first because if I enable both then the first breaks and treats :id literally as an action, not obeying the \d+ requirement ( I also tried using pure regex routes, see bottom ). Action "1" does not exist and was not trapped in __call() I tried re-arranging the order of the routes but if I do that then the threads/tags/:tagName doesnt correctly capture the tagName. I also tried disabling default routes but the routes still don't properly work after that. When the scrollbar or mousewheel is scrolled I need to stop the current scroll animation...but I'm not sure how to do this. I've checked out e (the event object) in Google Chrome's console and AFAIK there is not way to differentiate between a manual scroll and jQuery's animate() scroll.   I've looked at the routing on StackOverflow and I've got a very noobie question, but something I'd like clarification none the less. I'm looking specifically at the Users controller http://stackoverflow.com/Users http://stackoverflow.com/Users/Login http://stackoverflow.com/Users/124069/rockinthesixstring What I'm noticing is that there is a "Users" controller probably with a default "Index" action, and a "Login" action. The problem I am facing is that the login action can be ignored and a "UrlParameter.Optional [ID]" can also be used. How exactly does this look in the RegisterRoutes collection? Or am I missing something totally obvious? • Multiple generic parameters on a html helper extension method

  What I'm trying to do is create an extension method for the HtmlHelper to create a specific output and associated details like TextBoxFor<. What I want to do is specify the property from the model class as per TextBoxFor<, then an associated controller action and other parameters. So far the signature of the method looks like: public static MvcHtmlString Create<TModel, TProperty, TController>(this HtmlHelper<TModel> htmlHelper, Expression<Func<TModel, TProperty>> expression, Expression<Action<TController>> action, object htmlAttributes) where TController : Controller where TModel : class The issue occurs when I go to call it. In my view if I call it as per the TextBoxFor without specifying the Model type I am able to specify the lambda expression to set the property which it's for, but when I go to specify the action I am unable to. However, when I specify the controller type Html.Create<HomeController>( ... ) I am unable to specify the model property that the control is to be created for. I want to be able to call it like <%= Html.Create(x => x.Title, controller => controller.action, null) %> I've been hitting my head for a few hours now on this issue over the past day, can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Remote Ajax Call in jQuery .click() function doesn't finish before going to next page.

  I need to send click information on my website to a third party server using ajax (json). I am using jquery and I added the click event to certain links. In the click event I am making a json request to a remote server with the location of the click (heat map) and some other information. The problem is that the ajax function doesn't fire in time before the default link action happens. Setting async to false doesn't seem to work on remote ajax calls. I have tried preventDefault(), but then I don't know how to run the default action after the successful ajax call. Here is what I want to do: $('a').click(submit_click); function submit_click(e,fireAjax){ e.preventDefault(); cd_$.ajax({ url: jsonUrl, //remote server dataType: 'json', data: jsonData, async: false, success: function(reply){ //Run the default action here if I have to disable the default action }, }); } Any suggestions?

  In my routes.rb I have this: map.namespace :admin do |admin| admin.resources :galleries do |galleries| galleries.resources :gallery_images, :as=>'images' end end rake routes shows the route created like this: admin_gallery GET /admin/galleries/:id and when I go to this url in my browser: http://192.168.2.2:3000/admin/galleries/11/ I get this error: Unknown action No action responded to 11 But I would have expected it to use the show action/view, what am I doing wrong?

• C# regex: negative lookahead fails with the single line option

  I am trying to figure out why a regex with negative look ahead fails when the "single line" option is turned on. Example (simplified): <source>Test 1</source> <source>Test 2</source> <target>Result 2</target> <source>Test 3</source> This: <source>(?!.*<source>)(.*?)</source>(?!\s*<target) will fail if the single line option is on, and will work if the single line option is off. For instance, this works (disables the single line option): (?-s:<source>(?!.*<source>)(.*?)</source>(?!\s*<target)) My understanding is that the single line mode simply allows the dot "." to match new lines, and I don't see why it would affect the expression above. Can anyone explain what I am missing here?

I have a table that has 4 columns: EmpNum, User, Action, Updatetime A user logs into, and out of a system, it is registered in the database. For example, if user1 logs into the system, then out 5 minutes later, a simple query (select * from update) would look like: EmpNum User Action Updatetime 1 User1 I 2010-01-01 23:00:00:000 1 User1 O 2010-01-01 23:05:00:000 I'm trying to query the Empnum, User, Action, I(in time), O(out time), and the total time.

  I want to deploy an application to a list of servers. I have all of the build issues taken care of, but I'm having trouble publishing to a list of servers. I want to read the list of servers from an external file and call a target passing the name of each server in. <ItemGroup> <File Include="$(SolutionFolder)CP\Build\DenormDevServers.txt" /> </ItemGroup> <Target Name="DeployToServer" Inputs="Servers" Outputs="Nothing"> <Message Text="Deployment to server done here. Deploying to server: @(Servers)" /> </Target> <Target Name="Test"> <ReadLinesFromFile File="@(File)"> <Output TaskParameter="Lines" ItemName="Servers" /> </ReadLinesFromFile> <CallTarget Targets="DeployToServer" ContinueOnError="true"></CallTarget> </Target> I can't seem to get it to "Deploy" to each server in the list. The output looks like this: Deployment to server done here. Deploying to server: Notice there is no server name, nor is done more than once. There are 2 lines in DenormDevServers.txt

• iphone nsarray problem?

  Okay maybe i just need another set of eyes on this, but I have the following lines of code in one of my view controllers. It takes some data from a file, and populates it into an array using "\n" as a separator. I then use that array to make an NSDictionary, which is used to populate a tableview. It's very simple. However it isnt working. Here's the code: NSString *dataString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:checklistPath encoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding error:NULL]; if ([dataString hasPrefix:@"\n"]) { dataString = [dataString substringFromIndex:1]; } NSArray *tempArray = [dataString componentsSeparatedByString:@"\n"]; NSLog(@"datastring:%@",dataString); NSLog(@"temp array:",tempArray); NSLog(@"%i",[tempArray count]); NSDictionary *temporaryDictionary = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObject: tempArray forKey:@"User Generated Checklist"]; self.names = temporaryDictionary; NSLog(@"names:%@",names); so in the log, datastring is correct, so it's correctly pulling the data from a file. however for tempArray, i get: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.825 MyApp[7309:207] temp array: for the tempArray count i get: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.826 myApp[7309:207] 5 which is the correct number of strings in the array So i'm stumped. I have the EXACT same few lines of code in a different view controller and it works perfectly. Whats crazier is the last NSLog, that shows the final NSDictionary (names) displays this, which looks correct: 2010-05-17 19:15:55.827 FS Companion[7309:207] names:{ "User Generated Checklist" = ( "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION", "System|||ACTION" ); \ am i missing something really obvious??
