  • Why file upload error codes in php miss number '5'?

    - by Majid
I am writing a custom error handling/reporting function for php file upload and I noticed that the error codes returned is one of numbers 0 to 8 except 5. Is this a typo in the source I am using or is it really this way? And if it is so, I am curious why they have skipped number '5'. Thanks.

  • Open SSL without SHA1

    - by Hellnar
Is there any way to use Open SSL without any SHA1 hash functions and using one of SHA2 functions instead of it? I think firstly, I should find all the functions that call SHA1 algorithm, and I should understand why SHA1 is still used. While changing the hash function, the bits are different in SHA1 and SHA2 so it may cause some problems. It confuses me...

  • VB6: Slow Binary Write?

    - by Tom the Junglist
Wondering why a particular binary write operation in VB is so slow. The function reads a Byte array from memory and dumps it into a file like this: Open Destination For Binary Access Write As #1 Dim startP, endP As Long startP = BinaryStart endP = UBound(ReadBuf) - 1 Dim i as Integer For i = startP To endP DoEvents Put #1, (i - BinaryStart) + 1, ReadBuf(i) Next Close #1 For two megabytes on a slower system, this can take up to a minute. Can anyone tell me why this is so slow?

  • Posting topic on Facebook Groups

    - by gauz
I would like to know whether it is possible to post topics on Facebook Groups by using either the old Rest API or Graph API? I somehow was unable to find any function within the API which would help me to do so. Any work around or alternate solution to the above problem is welcome. Thanks.

  • Activerecord default accessors & unusual requirements

    - by JP
I have an ActiveRecord::Base class which needs to have a field that is automatically generated when a new instance is made. How should I go about doing this? By defining an initialize function? class Thing < ActiveRecord::Base # 'special' (integer) needs to be set to lowest unused number (above 0) # considering that random rows will be removed via other processes end This is as far as I've got! Any ideas?

  • Speeding up Math calculations in Java

    - by Simon
I have a neural network written in Java which uses a sigmoid transfer function defined as follows: private static double sigmoid(double x) { return 1 / (1 + Math.exp(-x)); } and this is called many times during training and computation using the network. Is there any way of speeding this up? It's not that it's slow, it's just that it is used a lot, so a small optimisation here would be a big overall gain.

  • thresholding to distinguish small features in noisy data

    - by Daniel
Hi, I'm wondering what type of threshold would work well for distinguishing features that are very small (small in the xy sense) in comparison with the full spread, if that makes sense. The graythresh() function in Matlab that uses the Otsu method doesn't work too well for my data. Otsu is a clustering method where I think the # of pixels should be similar in each class, which is not the case for me so when I employ it I get a threshold that is way too small and falls well within a lot of the background noise that remains even after filtering.

  • Dynamic menu items (change text on click)

    - by Mathijs Delva
Hello, i need some help with a menu. See the following menu: menu The code for this menu: <div id="menu"> <ul> <li class="home"><a href="#home" class="panel">home / <span class="go">you are here</span></a></li> <li class="about"><a href="#about" class="panel">about / <span class="go">go here</span></a></li> <li class="cases"><a href="#cases" class="panel">cases / <span class="go">go there</span></a></li> <li class="photos"><a href="#photos" class="panel">photos / <span class="go">maybe here</span></a></li> <li class="contact"><a href="#contact" class="panel">contact / <span class="go">or even here<span></span></a></li> </ul> </div> What i want to do: onclick a menu item: 1. change the red text to yellow 'you are here' 2. change the previous menu item back to its original state (eg red and "go here"). The 4 values "go here", "go there", "maybe here", "or even here" are the 4 values that should be assigned to the other menu items (like the example). This is the code i already have: $('#menu ul li.home').addClass('active') $('#menu ul li.active a .go').html("you are here"); $("#menu ul li").click(function () { $('#menu ul li.active').removeClass('active'); $(this).addClass('active'); $('#menu ul li.active a .go').html("you are here"); }); var arr = [ "go here", "go there", "maybe here", "or even here" ]; var obj = { item1: "go here", item2: "go there" ,item3: "maybe here", item4: "or even here"}; $('#menu ul li').click(function () { var str = $('#menu ul li.active a .go').text(); $('#menu ul li.active a .go').html(str); }); As you see, it's incomplete. I don't how to get the values from the array and assign them too a menu item. The replace text works, but not the change-back-to-original-state. Also, right now, for some reason i can't click ONTO the list item itself in order to activate the jquery code. I need to click just a few pixels under it. But i guess that's a css issue. If anyone can help, i'd be super thankful! Regards, Mathijs

    - by flarn2006
So I have these lines of code: int maxY, maxX; getmaxyx(stdscr, &maxY, &maxX); It gives me the following error: error C2440: '=' : cannot convert from 'int' to 'int *' Conversion from integral type to pointer type requires reinterpret_cast, C-style cast or function-style cast twice for each time I use it. I'm not even using the = operator! The curses.h file is included. What am I doing wrong?

  • strict string to int[long]

    - by baskin
Do we have a standard way of converting a char* to int (or long) in a strict way, i.e. we should get proper result only if all characters are digits and can fit in an int (or long) -- some way by using strtol etc.. ? Thus "sbc45", "4590k", " 56", "56 ", should be all invalid using that function.

  • Do I need to cast the result of strtol to int?

    - by Kristo
The following code does not give a warning with g++ 4.1.1 and -Wall. int octalStrToInt(const std::string& s) { return strtol(s.c_str(), 0, 8); } I was expecting a warning because strtol returns a long int but my function is only returning a plain int. Might other compilers emit a warning here? Should I cast the return value to int in this case as a good practice?
