• HTML reuse, create template

  After about a year doing Asp.net web forms, I stepped out (for the most part) from the .net world. I'm now working on a webapp that uses a lot of client side scripting and uses WebAPI for data access. I have a HTML section that allows note taking. I would like to make this HTML section into a template that I can reuse elsewhere on the site (e.g., insert this piece of HTML code into another web page). I'm a bit befuddled on how to go about this. Think of my problem as trying to create a "user control" in asp.net web forms ... only that I am not using web forms. Just good old fashioned HTML, CSS, Javascript, jquery, and knockout. Conceptually, I'd think that others have been in the same spot as myself. Can anyone elaborate a solution or at least provide some pointers? Thanks !

  I have three entities that must interact: User, SupportTicketand PhoneConversation. When someone calls in requesting help, the User should have a SupportTicket assigned to him, with a PhoneConversation assigned to the Ticked describing the call. My question is: In what entity should I put the method CreatePhoneSupportTicket() that creates a new SupportTicket and a PhoneConversation, relates them to each other and finally relates the SupportTicket to the User? I'm guessing it can't be on the user because that would violate the SRP (the user does a few more things). But the method itself does more than one thing, it should create both a SupportTicket and a PhoneConversation. Is this a situation when a Service is a better solution then putting methods on entities? Thanks for your help!

  I have created a php webpage. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m". I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function. public void onCreate(...) { .... startActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, new Uri(http://<mywebsite>/m))); ... } I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). However, when I click the "Home" key, and then re-enter my application through Task list, I lose focus for my last started browser, and the screen blank Any suggestion?! Should I need any code in onResume function to re-focus my web!?

  I'm switching from using gnu-screen to tmux, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around changes. One thing I'd like to be able to do is start tmux and have it automatically connect to a session if one exists, and otherwise create a new session. tmux attach attaches to an automatically existing session - but errors out if no session exists tmux new creates a new session - but it does so every time, so I can't leave it in my .tmux.conf tmux has-session tests whether a session exists - but I don't know how to stitch it together with the other commands Can anyone give me some configure file advice?

I am writing a pthreads application in which threads are bound to unique cores on a many-core machine. The memory controllers are statically mapped, so that certain range of addresses on main memory are electrically closer to a core. How do I transform those into a opaque pixel p? Does the alpha channel go in the high byte or the low byte? I googled up the documentation but it only states that: Each pixel is stored on 4 bytes. Each channel (RGB and alpha for translucency) is stored with 8 bits of precision (256 possible values.) This configuration is very flexible and offers the best quality.   I've Goog'd but I can't find any third party library that will let you create a jar file programmatically. I amazed that even Apache commons-io doesn't seem to have such functionality. I'd rather not implement it myself as the API is rather low level. Are there any 3rd party libraries out there that will do the job? Edit: I meant programmatically in Java. I don't want to drop out to the shell and I don't want to work with java.io.*.

  Searching on Google reveals x2 code snippets. The first result is to this code recipe which has a lot of documentation and explanation, along with some useful discussion underneath. However, another code sample, whilst not containing so much documentation, includes sample code for passing commands such as start, stop and restart. It also creates a PID file which can be handy for checking if the daemon is already running etc. These samples both explain how to create the daemon. Are there any additional things that need to be considered? Is one sample better than the other, and why?

The scraping process is fairly taxing on my server, and the page load takes a while. I was considering adding a simple cache system using a MySQL database, where I create one row per remote web page with a the array of information pulled from it stored as a JSON encoded string. Is this a good enough system? Or would something like a text file per web page be a better idea?

The WorkOPRder_Table has WorkOrd_ID int and WrkOrd nvarchar(10) the Combo Box Data Source is WorkOrd_Table Display Member is WorkOrd Value Member is WorkOrder_ID This works great with the problem that I cannot add or select anything not in WorkOrder_table.   HI, I am deploying a VB6 application on client machine. The Application need to access code from a C#.NET dll. I created a COM object of the .NET dll and used it VB 6 using the side by side versioning (Registration free COM). It is running fine on the development machine but on the client machine it is throwing an error "ActiveX Component cannot create Object" I created two manifest files one for the VB application and the other one for the C# application. I embedded the C# manifest file in the C#.NET dll through visual studio 2008. Am I missing some step. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

  I am new to VBA and I am struggling trying to make this work. I am in need of a macro that will process each cell\column on Sheet1 and put the results on Sheet2. I'm sure this is pretty easy for those who are more advanced with VB code. It contains many columns.. Anytime we encounter a — or an empty cell, we populate the cell with -999 (see the example on Sheet2) on the first column, which contains "0-2". Then we create 2 new columns and populate them with 0 on the first column and 2 on second column (see example on Sheet2). If a value is found on only one side, we then populate both sides with the same number.   Hello, I am new to iPhone programming, so I think part of the problem is that I don't know what I really want to google to find my answer. I am looking for a method that allows a user to draw a line on the screen. There is no guarantee that it will be straight, it can be curved or whatever. I was thinking that I could create some small square image, and then as they draw, place them into a NSset. But I am not really sure how to communicate each new object up to the view. Up to this point, I've just been messing around with objects I put on the view and then assign movement to those, this is my first jump into on-the-fly object creation. It might be that I just need to jump into a class/object type or even a tutorial, any guidance would be great. Thanks!

  I am coming back to an old Google App Engine project on which I saw a bug. During this lag, I have been upgrading my AppEngine SDK and is now set at 1.3.   I have a table with some data. All data is contained in dropdownboxes and textbox. But it isn't easy to see, what is newly written input and what is data from the database. So I want to create a (edit) after these boxes, and replace the boxes with a literal where the contained value in the dropdownbox stands. When the edit-button is pushed the literal goes away and the dropdownbox appears instead, so it is possible to edit the data. This is all, the jQuery don't have to save the data to database, I have functionality to that in a save-button. I don't want to use any extra plugin to jQuery, because it seems to be a fairly simpel task. Any good ideas?
